Right from the start, John was very honest and helpful with everything that our vehicle needed. We will definitely be bringing other vehicles back to him and feel extremely comfortable that he won t sell us on unnecessary repairs. Thank you John.

Skyline is about half an hour from where I live, and I'm only too happy to make the drive instead of going somewhere closer. John has given us honest, affordable diagnosis and repair on everything from my rusty old ford ranger to our newer Toyota family car. I refuse to buy a used car anymore unless I can have him do an inspection first, and that has already saved me from multiple lemons. Twice in the past three months he's saved me money by turning down work I brought him- once for a prepurchase inspection that he could tell as soon as he popped the hood wasn't worth buying, and again when he saw the Costco sticker and told me they'd rotate my tires for free instead of me having to pay him. Finding a mechanic who has the ethics and expertise to only recommend the work that will save you money in the long run just makes the rest life's daily stress a little easier to deal with, and even if you don't live near Auburn, Skyline is well worth the drive to receive that experience.

My car had to have its whole set of spark plugs replaced along with its ignition coils to save on extra labor time in the near future, and I got it back in a timely and very affordable manner before the end of the day.The respect, transparency, and professionalism at this mechanics noticeably outmatches a lot of other ones in this area and around Tacoma (and I've come to know that from personal experiences).So I more than highly recommend these guys here.

Appreciated the service I got at Skyline. John seems like just an overall good guy. Checked out a Subaru my dad was looking to buy and gave him an honest opinion that it wasn't worth the price they were asking with all the issues it had. My dad was really happy with his service and advised me to take my Honda in to John for the engine issues I was having. John took a look at it and found issues with the brakes and leaking power steering fluid. He didn't test the engine because I had left barely any gas in it and he didn't want to damage my car, which I thought was smart. He advised me to take care of the issues he had found and to take it back to the place that replaced my engine before bringing it back to Skyline. Some shops will try to convince you to let them fix every little issue they find and up-charge (especially to young women like me). Not only did he not do that, he didn't even charge me for the time he spent trying to diagnose my car! Thanks John!

John was very helpful and quick in diagnosing what was wrong with my truck. The diagnostic he provided was free and even though I wasn't able to get my truck fixed by him due to time constraints on my end he was very professional in letting me know what the issue with my truck was. John let me know exactly the kind of repairs my truck needed and was very communicative. As a woman I didn t feel like John was trying to take advantage of me and was honest and respectful. I will definitely come to John if my truck needs repairs for other issues.

When you go to Skyline automotive in Auburn, Washington , There is no better car repair for most foreign and domestic vehicles in a 30 mile radius!John and his staff of technicians continue to amaze me on their knowledge of all kinds of vehicles and trucks. Everyone, I ve recommended him have not been disappointed.

Chris and John were AWESOME, I had an emergency fix I needed while traveling and they took care of me asap. ASE certified techs, clean waiting room and nice bays. I worked at a performance automotive shop for half a decade and can say that these guys are squared away.

Edit in response to John's reply;The camshaft was refused by me on advice from the GM tech because it was junk and you knew that John because the GM tech told you that!Why are you not being fair and transparent about this?Had I let you work on my car again you would have put that Rusty camshaft in and I'd have been none the wiser. You know what the cam looked like and you've seen the pictures I took. Yes you did offer the Armada for the 4-day trip over Christmas but then refused to get insurance on it and I can't insure a car that's not in my name, so really you didn't offer a car lol. You broke my car you should either buy me out of it or furnish a loaner, none of this dialect matters, you're just bending the truth. You can tell it to a Judge pal, I'm sure hell see through itSorry you're unhappy the stakes have gone up but my trying to be nice is now being overridden by what is legal and acceptable.Original comment below.It's not often that I leave negative reviews on businesses but this one just had to be shared.I brought my car into Skyline automotive repair in Auburn to repair what I thought was a leaking water pump and probable timing belt tensioner noise.So I agreed to do both. during work it was discovered that the radiator also leaked so I agreed to replacing that as well.When I met with John to pick the car up he simply handed me my keys and said he wasn't going to charge me for any of the work performed due to the shops inability to correct a new starting issue with the vehicle he suggested that it runs fine and starts perfect most the time, so maybe I just drive it. Suggested I could take it to another shop and diagnose what's wrong with it but really it wasn't a big runability issue.So now I'm thinking what the heck did you do to my car, so I took it to GM in Auburn and paid for diagnosis.What they found was an absolute shocker.. John's shop had broken the exhaust camshaft and then repaired it with what looks to be 5-minute epoxy.. 5 MINUTE EPOXY!John expects that I should be happy with the fact I didn't have to pay for any of the work that he performed on the vehicle. In his mind evidently future repairs which are substantial plus the car I had to rent because this was my daily is all on me, not his problem.Now my car sits in the GM backlot waiting for a camshaft that is backordered for a month or two. What I would explain as a massive lack of integrity from the shop, because this is not how you treat customers.Aaron 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L with 86 thousand miles.

He was helpful in diagnosing my cars' issue. The diagnostic was free and even though I wasn't able to get my car fixed by him due to time constraints on my end he was quick and professional in getting my car diagnosed. Will definitely come by again if my car has any other issues.

John took over for a project I could not complete. Squeezed me into the schedule, did quite nice work at a very nice price. He and I are going to be doing a lot of business going forward.Since I moved out to Auburn I have had a hard time finding a good auto repair business. The shop was clean, well lit, has a comfortable and spacious waiting lobby; coupled with the fair pricing for the work performed I have found my replacement for D&W in Port Orchard. I'll miss Kelly and crew a little less now (and not drive/tow to Kitsap County when I need work done!).Thanks, John & co.!

Drove from Tacoma to have my 4Runner checked out. Thank God they showed me how beyond rusted it was underneath and even advised me not to try to fix it if I didn't have the money because there was a lot of problems with it I just bought the 4Runner and it was really bad I ended up trading in there for a runner for another vehicle anyways they did not charge me for any kind of diagnosis give me their honest opinion and it worked out in my favor thank you thank you guys for just being upfront with me even though I drove a long way if I have any problems with the vehicle I was still taking it there no matter where I'm at just because they're honest

Based on a referral from a coworker, this year I started utilizing Skyline at my primary independent shop for my Infiniti FX37 that is now over 10+ years old and is requiring additional work as it ages. Most recently, I got home on a Thursday evening, smelled coolant, investigated and found the radiator was leaking, then sent them pictures. The next morning I was dropping it off then later that day I got a call it was all done. They have been very professional, convenient, helpful, and a pleasure to work with.Service: Brakes

I took my friend's wheel hub and bearing to get pressed and the service over there is incredible. The shop is very clean and everyone over there is very professional. I was in and out with the hub and the cost was extremely reasonable. Definitely would recommend to more people.

The mechanic was very very knowledgeable and kind when I came in the morning. And the price of the repairs on my car was priced reasonably! I came in for a coolant leak but he did a thorough inspection of my car and there was other repairs I thought wasn t major at the time but got it done. And he finished the job at End of day, one day, on a Friday! I was expecting to pick up the car on Monday. Saved me time and money! 20/10 rating, I would come here again!! I recommend this place if your car need service!

John and his staff, including Chris, are so easy and great to work with. They keep you updated on the work and are honest with their recommendations, leaving it up to the customer to make the final decision on what they want done. The office and shop are very clean and it reflects in the level of service and workmanship; it's exceptional. I'm very excited to have found them. I trust their work and expertise to get the job done right.

Great shop....... your gonna pay $$$ alot less than you would at these other shops. There's mechanics are professional the owners honest and great customer service...... Skyline Automotive is my place to bring my ride whenever repairs are needed...

Disappointed by the very few negative reviews. The large number of positive reviews are correct in a my opinion.Brought my 2006 Toyota Corolla to Skyline about 4 years ago for 100,000 mile maintenance inspection and work. The owner stated my vehicle was is excellent condition. The total bill was less than $500. I was expecting much more. My wife sadly wrecked our Toyota recently. Will buy a used car replacement with similar miles and comparable quality compact with a highly rated manufacturer for longevity. Will contact Skyline to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. It's important to have confidence in a mechanic who provides valuable, honest service.Hopefully, will contact Skyline this week once locating acceptable vehicle, preferably a Toyota or Mazda.

I have been going here for years and I love that John has a lot of knowledge in his craft. Everyone here is professional and helpful I always feel welcomed vs like other places. He has also serviced my wife car and she feels comfortable going to him without me.His work is quality over quantity and will not bs you on what you need done. Unbelievable to find a truly honest and talented mechanic. John, the owner is a top shelf mechanic. Not only is he an expert in his field, he is a straight shooter when it comes to diagnosing your cars troubles. The best part is, he wont sell you the kitchen sink if you don't need it or the vehicle isn't worth spending the money on it. Showed up today at 8am with no appointment for an oil change, transmission flush, new spark plugs and got everything done same day! John, who had helped me from start to finish, is very honest about his work and truly cares for his customers. This was my first encounter with the company but is definitely not the last. John is very upfront and honest about his assessments and I will be using him for all future services. I had a slight alignment issue and he shared a few recommendations and explained each option thoroughly so I can properly assess which will be best for me. He could've easily told me to go with the most expensive option but shared a simpler solution which ended up fixing the issue. I will be sending friends and family his way.Service: Wheel alignment

My engine was showing a P0303 code, which is a third cylinder misfire. It turned out to be a cracked spark plug. They didn't try to sell me anything additional that I didn't need. They finished early and the car is running great.

First and foremost; the best customer service of any auto tech shop I've encountered. They keep it honest and realistic and prove though actions that they're thinking about the bigger picture. Skyline is beyond reasonable and from now on they will always be my first ring.

Amazing experience. The dealership wasn't resolving my issue, so I decided to try Skyline. John was upfront with expectations, knowing the dealer had tried twice already. He got me in quickly (days instead of weeks like a dealership). He was able to solve the issue, which happened to be super simple. I would highly recommend his shop.
