I experienced a tire failure just outside of Wytheville, VA. The towing company recommended Thompson TireDiscounters in town, so I had the car towed there. As it was late Sunday afternoon and I had to wait until Monday morning for them to open. I showed up first thing the next morning, and fortunately they had the correct size tires in-stock. I decided to have both front tires replaced due to wear. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The car was taken in in a timely manner even though they seemed to be very busy with "regular" customers. The technician was very careful with the rather expensive alloy wheels on my BMW. I was on my way home by 10:00 am with two new tires. I highly recommend this shop if you are in the Wytheville area.

Usually I just get the run of the mill oil change but there was a special going for filter rotate and balance for 99 buck when the usual is 75 so I said sure. Left my car at 850am called at 230 just pulled it into the garage. That s fine no rush. Get there at 5. Bill was 132.00 when she assured me it would ve more than 100 including labor.But this isn t the problem. I went to reset my settings after my oil change and noticed that my engine light was on as well as my TRAC OFF signal. Weird bc they weren t on when I dropped it off. Even weirder is that cruise wouldn t work. No one explained anything to me as I was leaving or that there was even a problem. Popped my hood to check to see if a cap was missing and checked the oil. I don t know anything about cars, but something was up bc there was something unplugged. It was pretty obvious. I don t know what this is but here s the pic. Here it is 6:00 on a Friday and they are closed not open on weekends and I have a vehicle that s not safe to drive when all I wanted was an oil change. No explanation from anyone when I left the business. .

Had an oil change and an alignment done by Isaac. The service was cost efficient, speedy, and done correctly. The ladies at the front desk were also super nice. Will be returning for all my cars needs :) Highly recommend!

I took my barn find classic car to Tire Discounters in Wytheville. Joseph Q was kind and listened to what was needed to bring this car back to the future. English cars are fickle to say the least. Kevin F. was my mechanic and kept Joseph informed the whole step of the way. When something came up Joseph was on the phone correcting the part, ordering more parts as the tedious rebuilt went from stem to stern. Joseph sent pictures when there was a question and Kevin stayed on task till the very last bolt was bolted, clamp was clamped. Joseph had trouble ordering spec tires, but did not give up on me. They stayed to align the tires and made sure I was completely satisfied before they would turn over the keys to me. And as a special touch of this being my dream car, it was secretly washed and filled with gas. I can never be thankful enough for what Joseph and Kevin did for someone they didn't even know. Thank you Gentlemen for such great service.

My husband and I were driving from Florida to Ohio and realized that one of our tires was about to blow. We ended up at this facility for brand new tires for the whole truck. I was not happy that I had to spend a good chunk of my day in a tire shop, but the customer served provided by Ryan, Joseph, and their team was outstanding and made it painless. I would highly recommend this tire shop.

The team here is extremely understanding and helpful. Unfortunately they are closed on weekends, so I had to stay overnight on a Sunday, but went in first thing on Monday morning and I was seen quickly. They had to order my tires but they were upfront about the timeline and cost (and voluntarily offered a military discount!). They were honest brokers and had both of my tires ordered and replaced within two days. Should I ever have the need, I know I will be taken care of at this location.

May I just say, "WOW!"? We are travelling, and we smelled rubber. We stopped and knew we had a VERY short window to get a replacement. We made some calls, and Thompson Tires' graciousness and understanding, as well as the fact they had a tire for my car, made our final choice. We arrived 15 minutes later, and 30 minutes after that, we were back on the road. They were courteous and professional. Thank you, Tim, you have a special place in our hearts!

Lying, cheating crooks!!! Beware!!! I ll never-ever darken their doors. Used to be good before they sold last year. I m so furious I thought I was gonna have a stroke! Been a long time since I ve had such a bad auto repair experience! Shameful!

Had an appointment for 10:00, got there at 9:57 They didn t pull my car in until like 1:15-1:20. Wasn t finished until 2:30. I saw countless people pull up and zip in and zip out. I will say the mechanics completed a proper repair, but there is no point of having an appointment and still have to wait that long. Never again.

Joseph was a life saver. We drove all the way from NJ in a rental car and we were having serious mechanical issues. He fixed my car in 30 minutes and got us back on the road to catch up to our family in Nashville. So friendly. So helpful. Just the best!!!! Five star all away around!

We had a company car go there for 2 tires and the driver had to wait 2 and a half hours which is ridiculous. If we have a choice next time we will go elsewhere.

Absolutely love this place Ive never once have had an issue with them and they have always been on time with appointments when I would schedule or if i had an emergency they were right there and prices are affordable.

Called and made an appointment, had to wait over an hour to get my tire plugged. Charged me $40 for a plug and STILL had a leak when I left.

With my most recent oil change and tire rotation, the level of service and efficiency is back to what I expect and had recieved in years past from this location. I was concerned that the merger with Tire Discounters has ruined Thompson s. I greatly appreciate the improvements since my prior encounter with this business. My experience today will have me returning.

Excellent and friendly staff, quick serviceWhile traveling home from Tennessee, our travel trailer had a tire blowout, causing us to stay locally for the night. I researched the area and found Thompson online. Brought the wheel and what was left of tire in, they had a tire in stock, switched it out and we were on our way, in about 45 mins!Awesome!!!

I tried to post this once already, so if it comes through twice, oh well. My husband and I are from PA. We had tire trouble with our 5th wheel camper. Decided to be safe and replace the 4 tires. I called and spoke to Jaime Arnold the General Manager. She was extremely helpful. When I called they only had one tire matching what we needed. She checked around and had 3 more tires brought to the shop for us. She is very much on top of everything going on at the shop. Very efficient and pleasant. The two fellas that switched all the tires out for us was Kam and Max. Amazing fellows. Very pleasant, you could tell they enjoyed their job. It s a really great thing when you find people that do their jobs well and take responsibility and pride in what they do. I might also add the pricing was very fair for 4 ten ply tires. I could go on. But all I want to say is Thank you.

Had an excellent experience at Thompson Tire! They helped me with my brakes, valve cover gasket, and two new tires. They saved me from having to buy even more tires because they did such a great job on my alignment. Joseph, Kevin, and Kam were so helpful, professional, and honest. I will definitely be returning for future services.

We were traveling past Wytheville on our way for a long road trip when the tire pressure sensor read one of our tires was extremely low. We tried to add air at a gas station but it was obvious we d picked up a nail or something and adding air wasn t going to fix it. We stopped at Thompson Tire Discounters for help. This was at 6:45 on a Friday night. They just happened to be counting inventory and the Open sign was still lit. They actually closed at 5:30, but were very kind and helped us repair the tire! Thank you so much for being willing to help by staying late! We re instant fans and can t believe how lucky we were to find them!

I got a flat tire when I was traveling alone from NC to OH and Thompson Tire Discounters was the only place in Wytheville that willingly stayed open late on a Friday to help get me back on the road. Everyone was so kind and made me feel so comfortable. They are the only reason I was not stranded in Wytheville for the night. My family and I are so grateful for you guys!!

Thompson Tire in Radford, VA has exceptional customer service. They were able to fit me in for a state inspection and air in tires. I appreciate a company that is very busy, because it shows that everyone else has the same opinion as me for the great customer service and car care! It's the place to go, without a doubt!! Joseph the manager was so nice and helpful. He got me in right away and found the leak in my tire and patched it up for a great price. I felt very confident dealing with Joseph at Thompson Tire Discounters that the job was done properly!

I failed state inspection because they said i only had 2/32" of brake pads and my rotors were bad. My brake pads actually have 11/32" of pad left and my rotors are fine. I passed inspection at a different place no problem. While i was sitting there for 2.5 hours i also heard them fail 3 other people for the exact same thing. My guess is that they are lying to drum up more business.

This place has become a joke. Most of the staff are incompetent of completing their jobs. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Awful service!
