Worst place for an oil change. They told me it would be ready after lunch when i dropped it off at 12 noon. came back two hours later said it would be ready by five. Waited in the parking lot watched them sit around move at a snails pace as my car sat in the garage not being worked on. If its going to take the entire afternoon say that.

Attendant was curt and abrupt , when I asked for a receipt. The outside pump is ALWAYS out of receipt paper. Very cranky and rude older woman. Actually told me to take a picture of the amount on the fuel pump with my cell phone. Absolutely unacceptable service.

I went to have a headlight replaced. The job was done in a timely manner, about 5 minutes. When I went to pay I was charged $45. I asked if I heard it right and was rudely told yes $45 dollars. Last time I will go here. Not even for gasoline.

DO NOT let this place work on your property! Period. As an engineer I expect certain standards and this place falls very far below anything you would call quality. Low quality work, zero customer service skills and astronomical prices. Took 10 days to press bearings onto two axles. A day long job in which I supplied the correct parts quoted at $400 ended up costing over $1200. They increased the work scope by replacing other parts and charged nearly triple the retail value for said parts. When I inspected their work, both axles were incorrectly assembled and the bearings would be ruined if I had not measured everything before and after I gave it to them. They also took the new hardware from a job I had done and used it as their own on the opposite side.So I was overcharged by nearly 300% and it wasn't even done correctly. Please, do yourself a huge favor and find a more reputable shop. You will regret giving this shop business.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! RIP OFF!I went here to get my AC compressor fixed. I was there with the salesman while he was on the phone with the parts distributor. The conversation was over speaker phone so I heard the quote for the part, which was around $345. I was okay with that! When I went to go get my car get ended up charging me almost $700 for the part! They did not call to ask if it was okay that the part was almost double what they quoted me, and when I asked to see a receipt for the part from the distributor he denied me that and said that was between him and the distributing party. They could not even explain to me the other work they said they did!Very very very bad business man and absolutely terrible experience. So, if you re into getting ripped completely off and lied to, this is your place. But if you re looking for honest and reliable, don t go here. I will never go back. EVER

I've only ever purchased gas here; priced above 7-11 and discount stores - as expected. But "Hey! They have a neatly kept lot and three bay garage offering all the regular services.!"Been there a long time.Looks good.I'd trust them. "BUY LOCAL"Local people.

I brought my 1975 Corvette to this place. The Corvette was barely functioning. So, I brought it here. First, the staff and mechanics are very nice, as well as great pricing for any work being done. The work is also done in such a short time, and I was updated very quick on the status of repairs. After all of the work was completed, the car sounds like it just came off the lot! Highly recommend!Update 8/14/21:At this point, the car does run, but the car spun out making a left turn at less than 10mph, and the car is inoperable, but does turn over. I don't doubt that the work can be fixed, but the owner of the station overcharges too much.

Been going there for years. Never again!I've brought my cars to the Jamestown Shell station for a decade now. The service has always been fair. Not great, but ok. The mechanics seemed like decent guys with good knowledge. But my latest experience will result in me never going again. My sons brought their car in for a state inspection. A day went by and nothing. No calls or anything. I finally get ahold of them and they say the car is ready for pickup. My sons paid $20 and left. It was only when they got home that they noticed the rejection sticker. A day later, I decided to accompany them to the station. The owner told me that he had called me 3 times and that he spoke to me and "I" told him I had sold that car years ago. So they failed the car. I told him that he clearly didn't talk to me and must've dialed the wrong number. He proceeded to argue with me and tell me he called me. It was like talking to a wall. A rude wall. He said I needed to get 2 wiper blades and the license plate bulb replaced. "$40 or $50" he said. My sons picked up the car 2 hours later, and got a bill for $92. They tried to charge him a second time for inspection. That was an easy fix. But $20 for EACH WIPER BLADE? And $25 to install them??I've put up with the rude and unprofessional owner for years. But I've reached my boiling point and will never give this station my business again. The owner clearly does not value his customers (check the many reviews here), and is now employing a "bait and switch" method. Never again.

Never again will i support this business. Repair price's are ridiculously high. They tried to talk my mom out of tons of money. When i went there, i specifically told them what i needed done, but they changed parts that had already been changed, and obviously not fixing the problem. Lesson learned!!! The state inspector is awesome, and ive been dealing with him for many year's. This company is very convenient for me, but I'll drive in town from now on.

Caring owners. They go out of their way to help customers. I go here for my state inspections, and they are timely and do a good job. I have also had tires patched and my car checked for problems by the mechanics before a big trip. I get gas here often as well and use their discount card.

These guys are thieves. My car developed a noise on my way to VA from Massachusetts. I take my car there and they tell me I need both front struts replaced. A total of $1200! I was returning to Massachusetts the next day, and didn t have time for a second opinion, but you can t imagine my anger when the noise returned five hours into my trip, and I still had another 5-6 hours to go. I take my car to my regular mechanic and it turned out the noise is due to a CV joint that needs to be replaced. They took advantage of me because I needed work done, and because I live 600 miles away, they knew there is little chance I ll come back for a claim. If you re reading this, avoid this place like the plague if you need repairs. It s ok for gas.

Had car inspected and another time went there to replace tires and battery. They did the latter same day at a fair price. Would use them again for my car repairs. Also at a good location and service was responsive to understand and meet my needs.

If I could give zero stars I would. Literally THE WORST mechanic experience I ve ever had!!! The owner and cashier are EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. They failed my car for inspection for wheel bearings so naturally, I took it to them to replace them on a Saturday morning since I work during the week. I was to pick it up three hours later. I understand accidents happen but they broke the suspension knuckle assembly not once but TWICE leaving me without transportation for a week. When I asked is there any type of compensation as far as a rental since I d be going so long without my car because of their own negligence the owner said he d get me an Uber for groceries in a smart tone raised his voice to me about how he had to pay for the parts already so it s not his problem what I have going on. When I called to check on my car he says I told you I ll let you know when it s done and hung up on me!! When I was finally able to pick my car they tried to up-charge me for the added labor to fix what they broke!! Ridiculous!

Buyer Beware! I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because the repair was fine, but we were charged double.. If they won't give you a signed written estimate, leave! We were charged an extra $500, for front tie rods, after we were shown a hand-scribbled note that later vanished. We also discovered we were charged for 4 coils a year before, when they only changed 2 coils, cheating us 50%. I should have swiped up the estimate to save $500. Demand a signed written estimate to keep or else WALK AWAY.

Years ago Shell was a Premium Gas and service retailer. In the 70's when I attended a small private school, Shell had published a series of pamphlet type of books on driving safety, extending gas milage, and other helpful driving aids that were used as a large part of my "Drivers Ed" curriculum. But then through the late 80's and 90's Shell oil fell out of favor.I related that story to say this. Since the Biden administration has implemented his whack environmental programs and both the government and the oil companies have declared war on the American public, I have had trouble finding fuel that my circa 1990's truck will burn and provide adequate power and decent fuel milage. I stopped at this Shell to get gas for the ride home, hopefully without feeling like I threw my money away.I got a few gallons to get me back to where I could get some non-ethanol fuel which has been the only thing my truck likes since the oil companies have dosed the ethanol through the roof. I was pleasantly surprised. The gas I got at this Shell was the first "Regular" gas I have bought in over four months that smelled like gasoline rather than Anheuser-Busch, it was still designated, "contains 10% Ethanol" on the pump, rather than "may contain Ethanol" like most of their competitors, and my truck, a pre flex fuel vehicle burned it and didn't give me any of the problems I have encountered as of late with competitors fuel that supposedly only contains 10% Ethanol.I will definitely patronize this Shell station again when in Williamsburg.

We had a slow leak in one of the front tires of our 1 ton dually truck. Called the tire stores and even truck dealerships. They were either unable or unwilling to remove and repair the tire. My husband saw this Shell station and that it had service bays, so he pulled in and ask if they could do the job. They jumped right on it, found that it was the valve stem, replaced it and had us on our way in less than 30 minutes. They were so friendly and kind!! I HIghly recommend them.

Do not bring your car to this place, they didn't do anything to my car in order to look at it to get it fixed and still wanted to charge 150 dollars just because it sat in their parking lot for 3 days?!? The way they treat people its unbelievable I'm sorry that some of my friends trust them and probably get tricked by this place. Being shady and treating customers badly won't be good in the long run for the business! I'm very disappointed!

About a week ago I took our Dodge Durango to this Shell station because the rear passenger side was leaking air. They guy that was running the service station at the time told me that it would be a little wait because there was a car in front of me so I told him that it wouldn't be any problem to wait. I sat in the shop and waited for about 45 minutes or so before I heard anything about about our SUV. The guy that was working on our SUV came in and said that there was a nail in the tyre and that he had put air in it and that everything was fine. He said that he would only charge me $15.00 and not the usual $25.00 because of me waiting for so long. I paid him and he told me that everything was ok with the tyre. Took our SUV home, it sat in the garage over nite. The next morning I went into our garage to go to work, got in the SUV, started it and the alarm for low air came on for the same tyre, it said that it had 16 psi in it. I had my wife take me to work and she took our SUV to another local tyre seller to check out the tyre. The guy told her that the nail was still in the tyre and that there was no way that it could have been patched. My wife went back to this Shell station the next day and explained to them what had happened and all they could say was that they were sorry that it happened and gave her the $15.00 back. It is just incredible that this happened! I would strongly recommend to the manager to take a good hard look at the people that he has employed there and do some serious adjustments to his personnel. I will never recommend this place to anyone or take any of our vehicles there for any kind of work.

Took vehicle here to get some service done. Staff was very pleasant to deal with. Joshua and Brandon fixed me right up. Made me aware of additional work that may need to be addressed in the future. 100% would reccomend having work done by these two techs. They were both very informative and professional

They use a loophole in the VA State Inspection, If your brake rotors are within the manufacturers specification (width) Shell still makes you replace them. Mine worked great, no problems, squealing, squeaking and still had life though they failed my inspection, with a smile on their face.

We have patroned this station for many years. In fact, we almost exclusively use this station when in town. Beyond being a proponent of Shell gas (we use Premium grades) the owner, Ali, has transformed this business into an efficient and customer-serviced entity. The station was a clunky, antiquated affair before he purchased it. We find him to be consistently honest, reliable and diligent toward making all experiences excellent. They were responsible for performing significant maintenance on our daughter's vehicle which certainly resulted in extending its life through her college useage. I would highly recommend this station.

Extremely unprofessional shop. The manager is rude and arrogant, I feel like I'm talking to a child. The state inspector is Wooden is horrible! While I was there two customers came in regarding the service done on their vehicles. One lady was told her was ugly when it showed up and the other asked for someone to check her brake pads that were recently installed, but the mechanic refused to spend 5 mins to reassure his work. Worst shop in Williamsburg!

The only inspection station in Williamsburg that I trust since 2000, and I've been working on my own cars since the mid 1980's. If my cars fails inspection, then it definitely needs something. Dwight is the man!

My 80 year old mother brought her car in for an oil change and they did $500 worth of tune up work without first asking for if she wanted the work to be done (which she didn't - and the work probably didn't need to get done). Will never bring my car to a place that treats people that way.
