Amazing service, and incredible price. I requested that they change my front brake pads in a short time frame. They gave me an amazing price (the Honda service shop quoted me a lot higher) and did it very quickly.They even showed me how to change my headlight myself to save some cash. Great guys all around, I'll be going again!

Have been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Charlie is awesome and would highly recommend bringing your car here for any repairs. He is highly flexible. You can even buy the parts yourself if desired and he will just charge you to install them.

Been coming here for a year and it s been awesome! Charlie is extremely friendly & conversational, and he s honest and easy to work with.I ve only had him do oil changes for me so far which have gone smoothly, but he & the rest of the guys at the shop have helped me a ton on multiple occasions:1) When I first when in for an oil change they pointed out a coolant leak. Coming from other establishments where people would recommend you change your front brakes at 8mm and wouldn t physically show you what was wrong with the car, this was a pleasant surprise. They just let me know there s a leak and left it up to me to decide whether to get that part repaired or continue filling the car with coolant. Also, he hasn t upsold me on services period.2) Came in with a flat since I hadn t aligned my wheels in forever they received me quickly and told me after a short wait that hole was in the no-repair zone on the tire, and recommended a shop down the street (Ron s Used Tires in Gainesville) that could replace the flat. And they never charged me a dime for it. Went down to Ron s where the guys were very accommodating and got the tires down in no time! Already got 10,000 miles on them and they work great, but I would ve had no idea where to go without Charlie recommending another solid small business.Service: Oil change

Charlie and crew are awesome. We've been taking our cars to him for the past few months and I haven't felt mislead. He has been great with my daughter's who are new drivers. That's a big deal to me.

I've taken multiple cars for inspections here and they are always quick and thorough. The waiting area is a bit small and has seen better days. Overall very efficient, which is what you want at an inspection station.

I've dealt with Charlie and gateway auto For almost a decade. He is unusually honest, Accommodating, Proficient and Reasonable in cost. I've lived long enough and had enough vehicles to encounter more than my share of dishonest car repair shops. This is not that. I trust Charlie and readily recommend him to others

Need a trustworthy mechanic? Go here, period. Charlie is awesome. He is honest and won t try to charge you for things you don t need. Saved us hundreds of dollars after taking it here for a second opinion. Great service with fair prices. Finally found our go to mechanic. We won t go anywhere else!!

Please ignore any negative comments about this place. They are seriously amazing. I had been to many auto shops for my 2006 Hyundai Sonata. They were they only honest and affordable auto company. New tires, rotors, brake pads, inspection alignment, the list goes on. My car is running PERFECT! So thankful I found them. Forever customer!

FAST, FRIENDLY, FAIR, AND EXPERT!I spent many late nights laying on the garage floor handing tools to my dad and being amazed that he could figure out how to get the vehicle working again.Visiting Charlie and his colleagues feels like that again.1. Spoken to with respect, friendliness, and willingness to answer questions and help me understand why and what.2. Willingness to jump on it and timeline the job quickly, calling me promptly with updates and to inform the job is done.3. Reasonable and in some cases surprisingly low prices...sime big shops always seem to find all these extras that need to be done and upselling other things.4. Charlie is like a computer. Feed the data in about what is going on and instantly a well thought out answer comes out, his men go to work, and voila! Car working again.Thanks Charlie and Crew!

Charlie at Gateway Auto is the only mechanic I will let touch any of my family's vehicles. We have taken multiple cars here for years, and the service can't be beat. I know enough about cars to know when I'm being ripped off, and every time my wife or mom go in for service, they leave for way less money than I expect, the work has never failed, and I've never had to bring a car back. I know that I'm not going to be ripped off or lied to here, and because of that, I will continue to drive 45 minutes from my house just to see Charlie. If you need an honest mechanic, look no further!

The best place for state inspections. Very quick. When I arrived there was a 45 minute wait. Charlie told me to come back in 45 minutes. I did a little shopping in Gainesville and returned in 40 minutes. As I walked in Charlie took my key and was done in less than 15 minutes.

Do not use this place! They replaced the compressor in my car and within a few weeks, my radiator went out. I took my car back and they replaced the radiator. Shortly after that, my transmission went out so I called and they said they wouldn t even look at it. I took it to another repair shop who told me that the shop that replaced the radiator hadn t tightened the lines and it had lost all of the trans fluid. Then the AC went out again so I took it back to Gateway and was told there was a leak nowhere near where they had replaced the compressor but couldn t tell me where and wouldn t fix it. I will never use Gateway again.

Only honest mechanic in town. I know a little about cars and try to fix what I can. Between taking my 4 vehicles to all of the local Gainesville shops who have ripped me off so many times. And let me not get into what the dealers did in robbing me.I have been coming here for the last two years. I first took one of my cars to Charlie because the clutch Bering that was making a slight noise. Charlie advises me that it will cost a lot and not worth fixing it, based on the year of the car and that I only drive it once in a while. Now that s an honest mechanic that cares for his customers and their money. Second time was where I had issues with sensors for my Miata so it wouldn t pass inspection. I took it to Charlie, who advised me that try finding an older sensor for my car online, as sensors issues are hard to fix and very costly. I took his advise, bought 3 sensors used online $50and Eureka. Ended up being a bad egr sensor. Just diagnosing and replacing each sensor would have cost 400-500.I recently went to get my maintenance at Ford chantilly, due to ted Britt for life Warrenty. Every year they rip me off thousands. This time they stated I need to get bushings done and they told me there was a small leak in the axel. Let s just say the estimate was in the thousandS. And the dealer tried to scare me saying it was safety.I took it to Charlie. He said, I could buy the parts and bring it or he could order it. Charlie checked the car for leaks and he said there aren t any. He said don t worry about it.Charlie is truly the only honest mechanic in town and truly cares for his customers. I will go nowhere else.

I get my vehicles' state inspections at Gateway Auto off of Rt29 near Warrenton. The staff & technicians are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Sometimes wait times can be lengthy, and sometimes the parking lot is full of other vehicles-use caution when parking.

I've had my car serviced at this shop for about 6 years but have decided to take my business elsewhere. The last two repairs have resulted in me having to immediately take my car back to have it reworked. On one occasion we picked up the car, stopped for gas, and noticed gas was leaking all over the ground. Shortly thereafter I had brakes done, drove the car home and noticed it was smoking. Appearantly the calipers were sticking so had to return the car again. Two other occasions I had to return the car to have repaired for defective parts. My conclusion is that there is no Quality Control checks after the work is done. The mechanics must be so busy they are not paying attention to detail.

So I took my s10 pick up there For state inspection checked all my lights before I went in, said 15 min wait which was awesome, they inspected it said I had a brake light out, which I did not, but if I did why not say hey we can put one in for you, then said I needed ball joints, so I said ok could you put them in today he said no to busy, so I went and got the parts he stated I needed called back asked if he can get me in the following day, he said sure, I said ok how much, he says I ll tell you when you get here, so I told him I m trying to compare prices on wether to go here or to another shop, he said idc, take it wherever. I ll tell you price when you get here. I took my truck today to another shop my ball joints are fine and my brake lights are working, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS TREATMENT, this is why small shops like him give the rest of the auto industry a bad name! DO NOT LIE TO MY FACE THEN TRY TO SCAM ME OUT OF MONEY
