If this service center didn't have good hotdogs I would not give them a review at all. My co-worker recommended Britt's Service Center to me and it was the worse experience of my life. The service center put a wheel bearing on my car and it took them just about 2 weeks to do it. I was told that the job would take 2 1/2 hours and I was told that the job would be in the high threes and after he check out the vehicle and get the part he would give me a written estimate. He did not. He acted like I was suppose to leave me only transportation at his shop and not call for a update. The young at the front that answers the phone covers for him at all cost. In the end I paid $ 90 a day to enterprise for 2 weeks so I would have transportation to work and paid him $541.00 for putting the wheel bearing on the car. I had to call the Sherriff to get my car finished and back to me. RUN FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE CENTER.

I was traveling through Wakefield at 4:45 on Friday afternoon. The tropical storm was moving into the area and the rain was starting. My windshield wipers failed to turn on. I pulled into Britt's and asked for help. They pulled me right in and fixed me right up. They believed I had more issues than just the fuse was taking care of and offered to give it a better look, but I did not want to take up any more of their Friday right at closing time. The wipers were working on low and high and that would get me home. I could live without intermittant. I was so grateful those guys hadn't shut down early on a Friday and were able to pull me right in. Great southern gentlemen who didn't want to leave a woman alone on Friday with wipers that were failing. I wish the Napa across the street had been as kind.....but they weren't. Kudos to Britt's! Wakefield is lucky to have them!

Did a fine job on my brakes and a bearing on my truck. My baby had the full shimmy shakes and Samuel has me tapping smooth again! Good down home folks and we appreciate having them! Thanks from the Fahrlender's!

My 80 year old parents ( who suffer from diabetes and heart issues) brought their vehicle to Britts thinking this was an honest mechanic. The issue had to do with a coolant problem and required the car to sit at the shop.To no fault of Britts, it took one month to get their vehicle back due to a back ordered part. However, during this time they attempted to call for updates and were treated with little respect and told not to call back. I personally witnessed this on one occasion.Britt brought the car to them one month later and told them it was fixed and running great. The next day they drove it a mile down 460 and it broke down.Britt could care less and still charged them $1400 for the repair. They were out the $1400 and still had a broke vehicle. I attempted to negotiate a partial refund but received absolutely nothing from Britt. My parents only income is Social Security so this really hurt them bad. There is another review, very similar to ours, that I wished I had seen before they brought the car there.Heed the warnings.Service: General repairs & maintenance

They know what they are doing for sure! However, the owner does not give off warm fuzzy vibes. So, if you want things fixed, Britt's is good. If you want friendly, courteous service, go to Burger King or another mechanic. If you want to hug a cactus, go to Britt's.

Took my truck for a state inspection and oil change. They said they were felling it for upper control arm bushings. I was quoted a price of it being under $300.00 to do both sides. So I let them do the work do the work since you need a press to perform the work on the uppers. Then it turned out to be the lower control arm bushings. They charges me for 2 and only did one side. After they lied to me telling me that they did the passenger side on Monday. Then when I get my truck back it has a misfire on number 5 & 7 cylinders. Come to find out someone pull the two plug wires and barely sat them back on the plugs. Then charged me $472.00 total for a inspection, oil change, and changing one side of the control arms. And they put the wrong oil in the truck from what I asked for.

I was quoted $1600 in Suffolk for a complete a.c. unit. I took the quote to Charles Britt and he could not believe it. They had listed parts that my car does not even have. I received honest, caring, and professional service at Britt's. They knew I was about to take a long trip so they inspected my entire vehicle at no additional charge. They determined that my front brakes needed to be replaced. A.C. and brakes with labor were less than I was quoted in Suffolk (by half)Highly recommend! I am taking my other vehicle there tomorrow.

Britt is the best! Before I started taking my car to Britt I was using the other local auto places and my car was not running well at all. My car wasalways running low on oil before the 3,000 oil change and it was making all kinds of funny noises. After I started taking the car to Britt I have never had to add oil to it and no more funny noises. The mechanics all go the extra mile to really check the car for any problems with the brakes, fluids, tires and everything else. I really appreciate the excellent service I receive at Britt's Service Center!

I took my vehicle here to get inspected and was told the only thing wrong was the lower right ball joint. I repaired the ball joint and brought it back and was told that I needed both ball joints and a new tire. I tried to argue that I was not told that and the owner was very rude. I asked to speak to the inspector who inspected my vehicle and was told he was the only licensed inspector that works there???? Well, who inspected my vehicle then? It sure wasn't him, it was one of his unlicensed mechanics. The funny thing is that my rejection sticker specifically says lower right ball joint is the reason it didn't pass. Like another review said, stay away from this place for inspections. I'm taking my truck and rejection sticker to the state police and let him explain to the officer why my truck was failed and why he has non licensed mechanics doing state inspections. I hate to mess with a man's livelihood, but he needs to be set straight.....

Mr Britt was very rude. Look at after having a problem look that that he was supposed to have fixed 2 months ago he charged me again. His communication skills suck. I think he thinks that black people are still inferior.

February 1 I had a 11 am "appointment" ( this is after driving halfway out there in the very early moring on January 31st only to find out this year I now needed an appointment for VA car inspections here). My drive to get to Brits is over 1 hour one-way. So on the 1st of Feb., 2020 I realized that I miscalculated my arrival time and was going to get there 10 (or so) minutes later than the appt. I CALLED Brits to notify them and ask if it was going to cause a problem ...should I turn around and make the appt for another day or arrive a few minutes late. The woman on the phone stated "No, no you're fine keep driving this way." I proceeded and arrived at 11:15 ( mind you while reading this I had my two children with me). When I walked in the woman was very nice and professional whereas the now owner (the younger) Mr. Brit did not acknowledge me and sat at the front desk with that sourpuss look on his face. I sat at the tables and waited. An elder lady came in and needed her keys to get something out of her car. While he was in a tizzy looking for the misplaced keys a younger guy walks in and after waiting a while he tentatively greeted Mr.Brit ( after he wasn't acknowledged standing there the woman was on a smoke break) and said nicely that he was in the area and was wondering if his vehicle was ready yet. Brits harshly told him NO! it ain't gonna be ready for another 2-3 hours after we have a chance to test drive it !" The man left out. Brit was VERY disrespectful to the elder lady after he couldn't find where he'd put her keys and had to search for over 8 mins ( I know because she and I were talking) Finally, he abruptly told her "It's gonna be a minute" at that point he found the key at the front counter yanked up and slapped it down in front of her. By this time he's upset and yells, to the woman working there, that there's an ADT alarm going off that he had to go check on ( at his family member's home) and begins to storm out past us at the table ( all this time he never acknowledges me sitting there) By this time it's between 11:33 and 11:36... as he goes out the door (after blow right by us sitting there) He yells over his shoulder, to the woman working there, " And it's gonna be after 12pm before I can get to THAT ONE. Everything pushed back since SHE didn't get here at 11!!"Apparently Brit has forgotten on which side his bread is buttered and is used to dealing with very loyal rural customers (with few local choices for service) I refuse to take this type of abusive behavior from anyone especially a MAN. I , my father and my siblings have been going to this shop for over 20 years ( I grew up in ISLE of WIGHT Co.) and I have even referred people to Brits. I never saw Old man Brit (may he RIP) behave like this. Though I have noticed the younger Brits sourpuss less than engaging attitude more than once since taking over. I kindly collected my keys and registration from the woman ( who apologized profusely to me) and calmly left. You don't treat customers like this. If you do you lose them plain and simple. So now I just took it to my local shop for my inspections (no appt needed like normal) and they are always friendly and kind when I've been there before for work. No more driving over an hour for piss and vinegar

This clown has had my ladies vehicle for over a month now. Excuse after excuse on why it was not done. We keep checking on it and he has been extremely rude. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.UPDATE!!!! Now he is holding the RV because of me telling the truth!!!! this has to be illegal!!!!! Someone PLEASE help us!!!!This is what I posted on Facebook:Good afternoon everyone,Please do not hold Trish at fault for not being able to get to you all. Chuck Britt with Britt Automotive has held the RV basically hostage for over a month. Excuse after excuse. He has been rude as hell to the both of us. So much I had a Sussex Deputy go with her right before Christmas and he told them he swore it will be done by tomorrow. Do not take your vehicles to this clown. If you would like to help Trish out, give this clown a call and ask him to hurry up and get the job done. I usually don t get involved with her business but one business owner should help another business owner. And his reviews tell the story as well.

Place isn't the same since Mr. Britt passed. I was there at 7:30am waiting for inspections to start at 8am. Three people went ahead of me even though I was first in line and told inspections didn't start until 8. There were men who didn't work there gathered in the shop giving input on my inspection. I've taken every car that I've owned there, sad to say Im never going back.

One of the perks of a hometown auto service shop. They don't overbook, and the service is always great. Tire prices are always cheaper than any of the big store names.

Went for an inspection and waited in line since they opened at 8am, ended up leaving at 10am with no inspection. The owner kept pulling other cars who weren't in line in front of the line. Prejudice business owner.
