I should have read the reviews. BONNIE has a horrible attitude. I paid $500 dollars for them to do absolutely NOTHING to my car. Very unprofessional & they don t know what they re doing. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE ! $135 for them to look at the car, $200 for them to look at the car again & another $300 to look at something else. Nothing was fixed

We have been using Tidewater Auto Electric on the Blvd. for our stubborn electrical diagnostics and repairs for about a decade now and I can tell you, they are AMAZING!!! They never let us down and I am so grateful to have them in the area!!!

Took my car there to be looked over considering an electrical problem as they were highly recommended. I was told I had to leave the car for a week before getting looked at as they were backed up. The next week I received a call stating the problem was more serious and they would need more time. This was not a problem. I asked and granted so time to think about what I was going to do with the car. A day or two later I received another call and was told that the Cadillac Converter was STOLEN out of the car. Tidewater Auto Electric Bonny said there were not responsible even though it was on their property and under their control. At first she didn t even want to make a police report. The next day she did however. The unusual thing is MY CAR WAS THE ONLY ONE VANDALIZED. I suggest that if you go to this shop please do NOT leave your vehicle there.

Bonnie and Amber were both outstanding.I scouted multiple locations to address an issue with my car horn and airbag in an older vehicle. Tidewater Auto Electric turned out to be the right decision.Bonnie and Amber were transparent, accomidating, expedient, and detailed in their explanations of the problems I faced and the solutions available. Without me even mentioning any price concerns they came up creative solutions to lower costs on my end due to the extreme rarity of the broken components in my vehicle.They worked with me on a constrainted timeline and finished the job both sooner than promised and for less money than expected. Most importantly, they were patient with me as I weighed decisions and worked out logistics for drop off and pick up.I run a store and manage customer facing employees. The care these two have for their work and their respect for the customer experience is what I look for in my own employees.

I'm from California and was riding my Harley when I started having battery problems. I was recommended to this spot by some locals. I was so grateful for the employees there, they took good care of me and had me out of there before the end of the day. I got a really good price also. Very happy to have been referred to this place . I highly recommend it

The issue with my cruise control failure, in my 01 truck, was diagnosed and the part was acquired.Their services are in high demand, So patience is required while your vehicle is in the queue for attention.They provided a detailed report on actions of analysis and resolution.I am pleased with the final results.

If I could put no stars for customer service I would. This shop was recommended by another shop to go there because they could not resolve an electrical issue with my car. Right off back, the older lady at the counter was very unprofessional, and rude, you would of thought I did somethingto her, I just came in because I was referred to them by the last mechanic shop and to get service when available. When I had the mechanic from the other shop that referred me try to explain to her what the issue was, she was even rude to him as well and he himself even admitted she was rude and nasty. I would never recommend anyone I know to them just off the customer service I received from the older lady at the counter. Maybe if you could get past the older lady at the counter, you may get some good service.

This place has been there for about forty years. There prices are excellent and they do great work. I had a remote start put in my wife's car some years ago and the cost is about the same now. You can't beat that. They have up-to-date equipment as well. There's a young girl that could use some customer service skills training but the tech that I spoke with was awesome. I'm gonna get the remote start for my car done in about two weeks. You can also get your remote door locks fob thingy done cheaper than going to the dealer for sure. I recommend Tidewater Auto Electric.

I wanted extra information on installation of a rear gate lift kit and I spoke with Ken. Ken assisted me in obtaining a system ideal for our suv, he called the manufacturer several times ( at least 5x) finally the correct phone# was provided and he spoke with the company and assured me the product was a good fit. Ken went far beyond what was expected and I would not hesitate to use Auto Electric again

Wasted time with another garage putting in a new clock spring and they tried twice with 2 different parts and couldn't get it to work. Finally brought it here and they guessed the exact problem before they even hooked up to diagnose. Diagnostic fee feels expensive but if another garage wastes time and money trying without knowing, it ends up the same. Work was done insanely quickly, parts ordered fast. Work is efficient and price equals out to 3 other places I checked in the area so they definitely aren't gouging you! Amber was incredibly helpful at the desk! She was able to help me over the phone and in person! She is extremely knowledgeable as well as friendly, polite, efficient, and professional. Can't recommend enough!Service: Electrical

Now a days it seems impossible to find good customer service. Well i received outstanding customer service from Tidewater Electric. I just told them what I needed to be able to do and they figured out the best way to make it happen. Not only that but I was running late to pick up the vehicle and they figured out a way for me to be able to get it even though they were already closed. I was subletting this vehicle as I work for another shop. Tidewater Auto electric was fast efficient and provided good communication on issues we were experiencing with this vehicle. It was a big help because I felt the dealer for this specific manufacturer continued to blow us off.

I had an excellent experience with this company!I had an airbag light on my 2018 ram 1500 and after going to several shops tidewater was able to solve the issue!They took my truck in while they were slammed with work!!Awesome nice friendly staff.I will 100% recommend

Called day before spoke to Amber, explained my Mini window problem. Came in the next morning first thing 8am and Bonnie checked me in and explained again the price for the test. An hour later Bonnie came to the waiting area and explained my problem and the solution and the price. Paid a deposit for parts. Because my window wouldn t go up they taped it up and did a great job. Parts came in just as promised and again I was there at 8am. It took about 5 hours but I was informed it wasn t a surprise. Picked it up paid for it and all tape was gone and my window worked. Polite friendly informative and most importantly they did the work for the price and time quoted. Thanks Sam at Bayside Tire for the recommendation. Great place

I came to Tidewater Auto Electric despite their poor rating because they are close to me. I wish I hadn t chosen convenience over quality because I ve had my new audio unit less than a month and have had nothing but issues starting a week after I got it . I ve brought it in since it is still under warranty and was told that it s a problem with my speakers. When that was debunked they said it was a problem with my battery. Oddly enough I ve neither had issues with my speakers nor my battery before this- so take that for what you will. Ken has been very nice throughout this process but their overall lack of accountability is honestly sickening. 0/10 do not recommendService: Electrical

Tidewater electric charged $131 to tell me my engine was seized up yesterday. Got it towed to my work to only find out they lied, twice, as I turned my engine over by hand with a 2 ft breaker bar as they said they did. Turned over very easy. They are very happy to give a refund. I'd suggest your car getting serviced elsewhere, to think my wife and I rented a car for 2 weeks to go through thisService: Auto engine diagnostic

Went in because my radio wasn t emitting sound. Two days later they call and say it s ready that they couldn t find the problem, but still got the audacity to charge me $110 of my hard earned money for a look over and then tell me they didn t find the problem. It s outrageous and I do not recommend this place because it just seems like they re grabby for your money.Service: Electrical

Great, honest service. We brought our Fiat 500 in with multiple electrical issues, which they traced back to a faulty electrical brake switch. I brought my truck for an alarm diagnostics. The alarm turned out to be bad and I approved to get a new alarm with minimum functionality. Got the bill for the diagnostics, the ground being replaced, new alarm and installation. I got the truck back yesterday almost closing time. The tech tested everything and it was working fine. However when I got home I noticed that my hazard flasher was not working and I noticed that a fuse laying on my passenger seat along with fuse box cover. I was going to check and pop the hood to see the ground wire that they rebuilt or replaced and I notice that my cable release lever was not replaced back so I could not open the hood. I would think that me paying the right amount of service charged for labor would at least give me satisfactory work because I know I deserved it. The company was a veteran owned and being a retired veteran I expected a descent service. I asked for discount but they said they do not give military discounts so its fine with me but I dont think I deserve this kind of service. I hope that someone would call me and at least fix and put the things back in its place so I can change this review. This is my first time dealing with this company so I need to get a better service. I got my truck yesterday 6 Aug and I was going to take it back but they were closed already.

Over 350$ installation and unaligned wet headlights are result. Talked to aftermarket manager, told defective equipment not chance seal compromised during installing. Polite remind easily transfer liability onto consumer while business still standing, nothing can do but, enjoy day.

Avoid at all costs! Took our car to Tidewater after having diagnosed at another shop. We need a specialty part that the original shop couldn t replace. TAE quoted us for the part we needed to have replaced, then told us they had to run their own diagnostics first. After agreeing to that, they came back and said that their diagnostics were inconclusive and they wanted to run further tests. We told them to just replace the part that we had already been told was bad, that we didn t want to put a ton more money into it. The receptionist gave us nasty attitude about our decision. We never even got to speak with the actual technician. They replaced the part, which was supposed to cost $670 with the diagnostic they had run, and then called us and told us that it didn t fix the problem. We chose not to have them do any further work because our experience had been so poor at this point. When we picked up the car, they charged us an additional $300 for a pin test that was never authorized or done (we specifically told them we did NOT want it done). My husband told her the final amount was incorrect, but she charged the card anyways. They also took three weeks to replace a part that should have taken 2 days. When we got the car back my husband (who has rebuilt cars) started looking at the wiring harness to try to figure out the issues, and the shop had left it in disarray. They didn t reconnect the wires back to their brackets and left them laying all over the engine and transmission. There are also now new engine codes that weren t previously an issue. We are the original owners of the vehicle and have not had repairs done by any other shop. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Took my truck here with multiple electronics on operating properly in my truck after having it at the dealer for seven days with no answers and nothing changing other then I needed to replace all of the parts that were acting up. After having it for less then a day the guys here had the problem found and fixed at half the price the dealer charged. The communication was very well and up front with what the charges were and their plans. I will definitely bring my stuff to them first in the future.

This place was so good, so honest I really couldn't believe it. I had taken my jeep to Prices transmission where they did $850 worth of work. The jeep was just shutting off right in the middle of driving. A scary situation since my son was behind the wheel on the highway (surely doing the speed limit, I doubt it) when it just shut off. We were told we had a transmission issue. Took it to Prices where they replaced 2 parts and told us it was fixed. We paid the $850 and left. 2 days later the jeep shut off while he was driving it again. Returned to Prices where they told us we had a wiring issue and we needed to take it to Tidewater electrical. The lady was so nice, they don't take appointments and didn't have a place to put the jeep. She allowed us to stay on site till a space opened up for us. She understood that I didn't want my son driving and the thing shut off on him. Took a few hours but she assured me she would find me a space. She did. They were on a 6 day delay so a week later I received a call informing me that first off Prices used Chinese parts instead of OEM parts. They also installed my crank shaft sensor incorrect which caused it not to read properly. They could find no exposed wires. The sensor was cross threaded and if course the bolt was in a spot where there was no room to retap the threads. They were able to heat up the bolt and get it removed without snapping it and creating a huge problem. To top it off they were $150 cheaper than Prices and they used OEM parts. Prices told tidewater they would refund me, I'll be going to get that tomorrow so we will see if they honor their word. Tidewater electrical was absolutely awesome to us and I would use them again in a heart beat! 5 stars all day!

I failed state inspection for brake light and passenger airbag. I pay 300 to this business to tell me what s wrong. They tell me it s another 200 to perform another test to find the problem. and a possible 1600 after they find out if it s the seat or the module. I thought the fist payment was for the complete diagnosis to find out the issue. I decided to decline and pick up my vehicle. It s too old to pay that much and I could not afford it. They call me the next day and offer to repair the car for half the price doing another routine procedure. At this point I am already fed up and know that are just trying to bleed me dry. She goes to explain how chick-fil-A workers make 25 an hour so her prices had to go up. I understand inflation but I never knew chick-fil-a to pay that much to the average worker. That was a key sign the person on the phone was willing to lie just to make a point. AVOID this business. Once thy have your vehicle you have no choice but to pay them. In the end they got me for 300 dollars just to tell me my passenger airbag light will still not got off. And they do not know the problem. What a wast of money. AVOID THIS PLACE. GUESS WHAT ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PEFORM A RESET FOLLOWING VERY SIMPLE DIRECTIONS TOOK ME 5 MINUTES. I AM SURE THEY KNEW THIS AS THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS THEY COULD HAVE JUST BEEN HAPPY BY GETTING THEY DIAGNOSES PAY. BUT THEY ARE JUST SCAMMING PEOPLE. YOU HAVE TO SELF EDUCATE FISRT. I FOUND A TRUSTED MECHANIC STILL LOOKING FOR THE ELECTRIC SIDE. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. NEVER. THEY WILL LIE AND TELL YOU ANYTHING FOR MONEY.Service: Electrical

They did what I asked of them according to my vehicle's problems, found, and fixed the problem. No extra thrills and frills or "we found more stuff wrong" bs. The job was Relatively inexpensive, and they got to my vehicle quicker than expected. I am completely satisfied and if necessary I plan on using their services in the far future.

I was looking around for assistance with my BMW 530xi. I seen this business and the first few views were positive so I decided to call for an appointment. The female at the front desk was rude and short. I couldn't get a word in edge-wise. I feel if this is the representation for the business you guys might need some renovation!!!
