Mario and crew are extremely knowledgeable, do great work, and are very customer focused. He will go out of his way to make sure you are happy with the outcome. During my build he provided updates and pictures, sometimes multiple times a day, of the progress. This was the first time I had a shop do major modifications on a vehicle instead of doing it myself. I was apprehensive about not doing it myself at first, but Mario's communication and knowledge put me a ease.

I recently had my 2015 Z06 modified by Late Model Domestics. I really do not believe I could have had a better experience. LMD oozes trust, honor and integrity. From initial contact, Mario was extremely responsive and informative. Never once did he make an attempt to push me in one direction or another. He listened to my goals and helps walk me through best concepts. There were various paths to take that would get me to my goal and Mario touched on all of them pros and cons so that I could make an informed decision. Once my decision was made, Mario and his team got to work. I was informed daily about progress being made. This included pictures, videos and next steps. The whole process couldn t have been any easier. My Z06 received the Stage 4 package with Maggie 2650. I really couldn t be happier with the results. My entire drive home I was grinning ear to ear. I did months-worth of research to determine the best shop for me. That shop is most definitely LMD. I looked into the big-name shops out there. I was looking for car transport companies as I was considering shops in Texas, Georgia, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Some of the quotes were astronomical and other shops simply seemed uninterested in answering questions. I have no real issue with that as I know shops are busy and really want to push their packages, but that was not the case with LMD. The customer service and attention to detail from Mario, Shannon and team is second to none. I was already thinking of next steps in my Z06 build on my drive home and know that there is no other place that I would take my corvette moving forward. This shop is committed to excellence, hats off to you all.

Just had my 2019 c7 grand sport o2 sensor replaced. This was my first time at this shop and I was really impressed. Their shop is really clean considering the amount of cars that are there. Mario took me in back and i saw some of the work they do and again I'm impressed. And while they were doing my sensor, he also looked at everything else underneath the car to make sure everything was good. His wife was extremely helpful on helping me decide on what exhaust that would be best for my vette. I finally found a shop that I feel comfortable bringing my car to.

After 5 years of owning my 2017 Z06, I finally decided to upgrade my engine and exhaust. My goal was to increase the HP and torque without sacrificing drivability. As with most Corvette owners, I am meticulous with the care of my vehicle and wanted to maintain the same degree of smoothness and steadiness of acceleration. Altering engine components can affect the powertrain in many different ways and I wanted to make sure I chose a reputable and knowledgeable shop. I live in VA but had decided to ship my vehicle to Texas and get the work done by one of the most respected performance upgrade shops in the business but I'm glad I waited a couple of weeks before doing so.I am very much into the local VA car scene and through several conversations with local car enthusiasts, I started to hear about Late Model Domestics. I visited the shop and spoke to Mario and his wife Shannon and after an hour of conversation, I could tell they both had in-depth knowledge of my car's platform. I could also tell that the shop atmosphere was a 'family affair', which increased my level of comfort.Mario and his brilliant team performed numerous upgrades to my car, including improvements to my supercharger, throttle body, wire sets, upper pulley, X pipe, etc. and added an ice tank, CAM, headers and performed a brilliant tune. As I mentioned earlier, I was very nervous about the post upgrade drivability and to my surprise, my car is very smooth at cruising speeds with zero cam surge (bucking and jumping hesitation) during moderate load situations. The tune is absolutely SPOT ON! I couldn't be more pleased.Additionally, I always like to comment on 'service after the sale'. Again, Mario has been available anytime I had general questions. He has also called me several times after shop hours throughout the week and even on days in which his shop is closed, just to ask how my car is performing. That's the kind of service that produces repeat customers. I also like the fact that Mario is also a car guy which is why he better understands customer concerns, and goes 'the extra mile' to explain things other shops would consider a waste of time. He called me throughout the whole process to explain each task in great detail, sent me pics and invited me to come to the shop to witness certain aspects of the build.Their customer service and attention to detail is SECOND TO NONE! I am so pleased with the level of service I received and I am looking forward getting a few more upgrades.

I took my GMC Sierra with 6.2 to LMD for a dyno tune, after doing some work on it at home. I didn't have a ride back, so I waited in the lobby. Mario made it a point to come check on me several times and give me updates on how things were going. It only took a few hours to wrap it up, and they didn't cut corners at all. My truck is tuned perfectly and I cannot say more about the hospitality. They will definitely be my go-to for any tuning in the future.

Debated on upgrading my 2018 Hot Wheels 2SS since I bought it 2 years ago.Never felt comfortable committing as I was unsure of local shop support for mods and tuning. While remote tuning is a thing and can be fantastic it was not going to be for meOnce a Camaro club member mentioned LMD and i had chance to talk to Mario my concerns where put to bed. This was the shop and guy I wanted and needed to do the workI had LMD do Kooks headers and green cats, a flex fuel kit, msd wires with new plugs and the requisite tuning. Along with Rotofab and ported TB already installed the car saw gains of 60rwhp on ethanol. Color me impressed and very happy with the work. My quesrions and concerns were answered.Highly recommend Mario's LMD. Got questions? Go talk to him. He loves cars and is awesome at giving you the knowledge to make imformed decisions.Having them install Borla exhaust on my 2021 2500 Silverado. Then he will sound like a big V8 truck ought to. Plus he will not feel so outclassed by his little orange sister.

I brought my 22 Camaro ZL1 to LMD and they lowered it on BMR springs, installed a BMR Cradle Lockout kit, and they installed the BMR rear cradle braces. The shop did a great job with the install. They were very careful with the car and covered the areas they worked with plastic before they began working. The car looks and drives great. I can't recommend them enough. I want to share our story, my wife and I love camping and in 21 we purchased a 5th wheel camper. We had a Chevy Silverado 1500 that had a 12k towing capacity. We had a great experience hauling with our 5.3 liter engine but after moving to the mountains of western VA and eastern mountains of WV we just didn't have enough engine and torque to haul the long mountain runs.After many months searching on what would be our best option to help us increase our hauling power. Best option was to get a new truck with the dermax and allison tranney but 70 to 100k was not in our budget. So next was to increase the power by whatever means possible. After searching for great engine shops we found LMD in Virginia Beach. Mario and Shannon were amazing to work with going over 5 different options that we could do to meet our goals. 4 options were to keep our 5.3 and make many modifications to that but the engine had 90k miles on it, so there were possibilities that the engine would not hold up to the stresses of the modifications and we would get a limited time warranty. After a few weeks of back and forth communication Mario proposed doing a new creat engine that would give us a 3 year warranty and the increased hp and torque.So we settled on the L8T 6.6 liter create engine direct from Chevy. This meet our budget requirements and gave us peace of mind knowing we would have and extended warranty. We set a date for the project to start and right on time he was ready for our truck and he finished on the date he said he would be done. The new engine gained us 68 bhp at the wheels and 125 ft pounds of torque.We were just able to haul our 5th wheel over some of the mountains here in VA and the results of having the added power was amazing. Being able to pull 7 mile, 7% road slopes that are 5 miles long at 70mph at 3200rpm, instead of 55mph at 4200rpm is amazing. We are so pleased that spending 20k I stead of 70 to 100 k to get the same results is just mind blowing to us.We are so happy we were able to find LMD, and Mario and Shannon. We feel that advised us to go in the right direction with our project. The project was on time and a little under their quoted price. They could have taken advantage of our limited knowledge of what we were trying to accomplish but their honesty and fairness was about and beyond other shops. If you need a shop to work on your project this is the one.Thanks Mario, Shannon and team!

I googled an auto repair shop near me and chose LMD initially for its good reviews. I am glad I chose them. To share my experience, I began with an inspection of my vehicle, in which I met Mario, the shop owner. Talk about knowing your stuff and having a passion! His enthusiasm alone for vehicles and informing prospective customers was something I've never seen. Knowing that I wanted to get my car off on the right foot before doing modifications, after talking to Mario and his lovely wife, I knew exactly where I felt comfortable having the work performed.After discussing the route I wanted to start, to include addressing the well known heads issue on the C6 Z06 platform, Mario and his team got me into the shop faster than anticipated. Throughout the entire process, he was extremely informative of what was going on with my car, status of parts, etc.We unfortunately ran into a parts issue. This is when I was able to see why I'll continue to refer LMD to anyone seeking similar work and go there myself. Mario was exceptionally proactive in rectifying the situation, to include providing rental car service, upgraded parts, making sure I was taken care of, and holding the parts manufacturer accountable. Mario was very informative on what he s gonna do to my truck did a fantastic job had it done sooner than I thought it was going to take I d be more than happy to do business with him again and again new lS3 I had one problem with the air intake came loose. My 2016 camaro ss went in for headers and a catback with a dyno tune, everything has been smooth and any and all questioned were answered!Mario and the team are absolutely amazing!! Me and some other have experienced other shops and they just do not compare. The shop is clean and organized, the staff keep you updated, turnaround times are great, and they are overall great people who make you feel at home.

Couldn t be happier with the customer service and excellent work from Mario, Shannon, and their team! I bought an exhaust for my husbands RAM TRX as an early Christmas gift and contacted LMD about doing the install for us. Mario took the time to talk with me over the phone about what we wanted to accomplish with the truck and quoted me a reasonable charge for the labor for the project. My husband stayed while the work was done and only had good things to say about his time in the shop. Mario stopped by several times to talk to him and show him what was going on, even so much as to work out a few hiccups with the install. Since then, I haven t seen my husband in about 3 hours, but I can hear him all over the neighborhood and I know he hasn t stopped smiling since. You won t find a better upgrade performance shop around!

Excellent customer service, dyno tuning, clean shop, fair pricing, & corrected my remote tune issues (Great Tuner!). My car left with an extra 50HP & 60TQ remote tuning left on the table and I got free DIY tips to lower IAT s. Dyno can handle 150+mph 1to1 pulls wheel speeds for my car. They used one of the best shops in the US for balancing rotating assemblies. At least 5 people working the day I visited should help with lead times to start your project. Reliability over Peak Numbers!

Just picked up my 5th generation Camaro from LMD. Absolutely thrilled with the work Mario did. Upon his recommendation, my baby got some Kooks, green cat headers, a Pro Fab air intake system, plugs, wires, heat shields and a dyno tune. Gained 30 RWHP plus additional torque. In addition to the modifications, Mario went over everything under the car and fixed a laundry list of little things that needed attention. Those green cat headers sound awesome through the stock mufflers. Not too loud but lets you know there is something under the hood. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a little more or a lot more oomph out their car or truck. The shop is as clean as an operating room. I can't forget Shannon (Mrs. Mario) who runs the business end and has been in the speed shop business a long time. She knows what she is talking about. Stop by the shop and talk with Mario about your vision for your car. Sure glad I did!

This is a very capable speed shop. Mario was great to work with.My project was a manual swap on a caprice ppv. Not an easy thing to do. Required fabrication work and specialized tuning capabilities. Had a cam ,lifters, psi spring, IDX 1700cc injectors installed on my 2018 challenger srt hellcat,calibrations done by curt dusterhoff ,Mario kept me informed of everything including when the dyno was going to be so I could be there. The car has a lot more power and is more responsive.Thank you Mario, Eric, curt dusterhoff for the outstanding work . If you want any mods or tunes done to your car you should check out LMD first .very reasonable prices.Jan 26 2024LMDJust finished second build had blower ported by kong and added a kong 120 mm throttle body we also had the heads ported and added kooks headers, put in solid moter mounts worked with curt from Dusterhoff tuning . Mario and JustinWorked with curt on installing the tunes and logging the Dyno pulls.LMD is the best in the area Mario kept me informed all the way through the build.the prices are very reasonable. Shannon kept track of all the parts and labor .LMD is not just a speed shop they are like a second family willing to help you achieve your goals. All the workmanship is the best. Rob also coated my new wheels thank you they look amazing.We are getting ready to do another build putting in a billet differential and adding the aad wheel hop eliminator along with the demon killer springs and the Crandall lock.If you want your car to go faster and gain the most horsepower then check out LMD you wont be disappointed.Again thank you Mario and your whole team.

Mario and his entire team at LMD are an absolute pleasure too work with. I brought my 2013 427 Corvette Convertible back to finish the build 103mm NW throttle body, Atomic MSD intake, Dynamic injectors and E85 conversion kit (prior work included H/C/CAI/E and MGW shifter). Final Dyno numbers 640 RWHP/ 580T NA Beast! I called Mario to inquire about a tune and a very difficult diagnostic problem with my C6 ZO6. He managed to squeeze me into his busy schedule and figured out the issue with my car that resulted in a no-start after a cam install. Fearing that I would be charged many hours for diagnostic time, I was pleasantly surprised when Mario only charged me for an hour of labor. He then tuned the car and did a transmission service while it was there.The tune on my car is unbelievable. I'm very impressed with the driveability even at low RPM's. The performance is more than expected and it really feels like a stock cam even though I went with a stage -2 setup. I highly recommend Late Model Domestics for any of your tuning or high performance needs.

Just came here to brag on Late Model Domestics car shop. If you want extremely fair and knowledgeable service, go check these guys out. Their shop is extremely clean and the cars are well taken care of while in their care. They are not a fly by night company. I've lost count of how many shops I've been to and these guys were my last and final stop. I am sold. Nobody else will touch my Corvette. It feels great to have finally found that peace of mind. They even sent photos as work was being done to keep me updated. I will never go anywhere else.

Mario and his team delivered excellent results for a great labor rate. I have a 2019 Ford Mustang GT and had ordered an MGW X-Spec Short Throw shifter, Accelatec Flat top/bottom steering wheel and Ford Performance by Borla Type-S Catback exhaust system. They installed it in one day, tested the vehicle out and then provided a demonstration upon picking up the car. Absolutely great service and quality of installation.
