Eric, Joel, and the team were highly recommended by a colleague. I took my car for a second opinion after the dealer suspected an issue costing upwards of $3k. The guys did diagnostic work and spoke with me about getting to the route of the problem. They also respected my budget and prioritized other things they found (that the dealer missed). We did not hesitate to call them when my husband blew a tire a week later and are thrilled to be able to work with them in the future.

Modern outfit, even had a tablet to input my information on. Professional staff. Exceptional service. I received multiple calls to update me on my vehicles status. Prices are fair enough. In my opinion its worth every penny. I will certainly be using these cool cats again. My alignment has never been better. Clear paperwork documenting all costs incurred.

Eric and his crew at Automotive Specialists always do top quality work. He gives me the full explanation of what he is doing and why, and has also advised against doing some work because the vehicle didn't need it (even thought it would have given him business). He's always been straight forward and honest. My family has done business with him for years, and I now bring my vehicles to him from Suffolk. He may not be the cheapest, but top quality work rarely is and he is certainly fair.

I am fortunate to personally know the front office professional who works at Automotive Specialists. Joel Kudst is knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy; and has consistently displayed these character traits for the 20+ years I have known him. So, when he recommended I bring my car to Automotive Specialist, I didn t hesitate. I wasn t disappointed. The work completed was excellent and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Automotive Specialist to anyone seeking quality service at a fair cost.

Honesty is so important to women looking for automobile maintenance services and recommendations. I am sooo tired of dealerships with their commission driven recommendations for service. Eric is straight up, no bull, just how I like it! I love the email report you get with your service letting you know what areas of maintenance are needed now and which ones you have coming up so you can budget for them. Pictures of your vehicle and it's fluids are provided so you can see and believe! Get your service here, you will not be disappointed!

I took my '99 Jeep Cherokee in for a State Inspection and from my first interaction til my jeep was ready, I was kept informed of what would happen and then those things happened as explained. The shop is busy and I was told that I wouldn't be able to have my Jeep looked at same day, but I respect that they set realistic time expectations and meet them. A nice bonus was being texted a link to photos and a checklist of what needed to be done, what would be a good idea to do, and what was not in need of repair. From their I approved an estimate and they went to work. This is the shop to go to if you want the work done right.

If you need an honest car mechanic, these are your guys.I've been taking my cars here for 13 years. I used to work in the Kempsville area and it was convenient. It's no longer convenient, but it's worth the extra time and effort to get our cars there. They are knowledgeable and helpful with questions. I've never had to take a car back for a poor repair.They do it right and they treat me right.I recommend them enthusiastically and without reservation!

Eric and his staff have all treated me very well. I am in and out the door, and any car problems are explained in a very detailed and reasonable way. Automotive Specialists is an extremely sharp outfit.Why do I like them so much? There is never any phoney baloney to deal with here. Their marketing campaign with the lifetime oil change was a great deal, but I would bring my car here even without the ads. I think it is politeness, pride, and professionalism that has me sold. I trust them completely and they are totally squared away.I migrated after dealing with indifferent and at times rude service on Indian River near Kempsville Rd. in the auto strip.I do not throw out "five stars" to just anyone, nor write recommendations for just anyone. I am motivated to do this on my own because I always feel good walking out the door at Auto Specialists.

My family has been seeing Eric and the automotive specialist team for over a decade and we always receive the very best treatment. They are willing to work with your schedule and always find a way to accommodate you. Awesome service!! Lifetime customers here!!!

They fixed my wheel bearings on my Honda Accord, and when a problem arose, they fixed it again under warranty... no questions asked. Eric, the owner is responsive and responsible. Just started using them a few months ago, but I highly recommend.

Eric and his team are great! When it comes to mechanics, trust is the number one thing I am seeking. I want to know that my shop isn't trying to do unnecessary work and the work that they do is done right. That's how Eric and his team operate.

I bought a V.I.P. card for this business because I wanted a place to bring my car for quality work and good pricing. I am sorry I fell for the sales pitch! I have to leave my car at the shop for the day for a n oil change or car inspection and they will get to it when they can. I spoke to Eric about this an I got the impression that he didn't want my business. I would not recommend this business as this is not the way to treat customers.So here we are months later and I read Eric's reply. I did not feel valued as a customer when I brought my car in for that oil change. Then I received a card in the mail from this shop reminding me to call and make an appt. for an oil change. So I did call and Eric told me he would pay me for the VIP card I purchased from a door to door salesman, not a Groupon. Eric said this way I wouldn't have to use a shop that I didn't like and he wouldn't have to deal with me. Instead of an apology for the way I was treated and could we start over, I am shown the door. LOL I just wanted a local auto shop that I could take my car in for service. This shop may very well do great work and deserve the trust many customers have. I will never know. In the end I have found another local shop that works for me. I would advise Eric to stop sending postcards to customers to schedule an appt. for an oil change as it can be disappointing when you don't offer appts.

The best performance motto in the business: "Done once, done right!" That has always been our experience with Eric and the crew at Automotive Specialists.07/18/2016: As always, performance above and beyond the call of duty. Complicated repair made more difficult by the supplier not telling AutoSpec that they needed a separate part to join two pieces of A/C pipe. in spite of that, the car was repaired by the time promised and the A/C will freeze us right out of the car if we turn it on high.. Thanks for the great job.R E E

Took my car in for an inspection and before I gave it to them it had no lights on. They tried to charge me almost $800 because they claimed they found a light was on and fixed the problem. Additionally, when I got the car back they had stolen items out of it and changed my radio stations. What kind of business does that? I would trust any other shop more than I trust this shop after how they tried to cheat me out of my money.

1 star says it all. Not sure how to reply to the owners response. I was told this establishment provided state inspections. Being new to Virginia I had no idea what this entailed. When I went in there was nobody at the counter. Finally, as I was walking out somebody helped me and said they were booked.
