I love Gary Friex! He is a wonderful person and mechanic. I was so sad when he moved Service Pro from the 5th St. location in Charlottesville, but I FOUND HIM! The drive to Troy is so relaxing and well worth it because you KNOW you're going to get good service and I take both my vehicles to him...have been for years. Gary is a seemingly quiet man, but we have GREAT conversation and my favorite phrase: "I have a question for you" always sparks an interesting chat! Thanks for the advice and service Gary!!!!

The confederate flag is not on Gary's property. It is not his flag. He is a good mechanic. Yes it is a little hard to communicate with him. He runs the whole business by himself. No you do not get a invoice listing all the work done. But his work is reasonably priced. And for those who want to get something for free, remember Gary has to make a living too. Impeccable work at a reasonable price. Highly recommend. I wouldn't think of taking my vehicles anywhere else. I only wish there were more stars.

Notice almost every negative review stated the Stars & Bars confederate flag as the reason, or said nothing at all, which tells me it is the flag again (what cretin would give the lowest rating and not have the decency to state the reason? A triggered liberal) and it is extremely doubtful that *any* of the negative reviewers even visited the shop. The positive reviews, on the other hand, described great service and reasonable fees. It's clear which are real and accurate, and which are just petty political sniping.

I give them 4 stars. Three for so so service ( but they are a general garage and are fine for routine work) and 5 for representing the community values with that Confederate flag! Whoever said that was awful is obviously not from Louisa and I admire someone who's willing to stand up for his values. Keep that flag flying, Gary!!

I haven't been to this shop, but the reason I'm giving him a 5 star is because the rebel flag is not racist at all! You people that think so need to do research on it and stop believing everything someone tells you!

Terrible shop, and they lie. Brought my car in here for diagnostics. Guy said 'no charge' clearly for the work to diagnose issues. Pick the car up the next day and they charged me! So bad, really. You can't trust the prior reviews here based on the fact that they are for a broken blinker and a state inspection...those are pretty straight forward repairs and very inexpensive just about anywhere. An honest shop would stand by what they say and do what they say, not jump the customer on pick up and then charge them without notifying them first. I would never do business with a place like this in the future.

We are visiting the area and our rear blinker went out one evening. Our in-house mechanic was 1200 miles away and he said we would need a special tool, too! Looking online, we found that Service Pro was near our hotel, so we called and left a message. They called us back right away and said come on over.He took my car immediately and it was only a few minutes wait. The cost? I still can't believe how reasonable it was!!! I'm sure he must have done his good deed for the day!

I came in to simply have a few bolts machined down to size. Gary was glad to help. Only spent a few bucks but was treated like a top paying customer, he literally dropped what he was doing to get me back on the road.

They ripe me off. Charge over360$ to replace a starter. And it was difficult if not impossible to get someone on the phone. When they were told i wasn't getting it fit there, the guy became short and change 45$.

I have known Gary and his staff for over 3 years now and he has always done high quality work and stands by everything he does. I highly recommend that you give him a try as you won't be unhappy!!

Awful experience. Nickel and dimed from the time I arrived. Warning you - never go to this guy unless you want to pay twice as much as you should and leave with a vehicle worse off.
