Had oil change here today. They checked and topped off everything and we did not even have to get off our vehicle.The staff were very friendly and helpful and were excellent and efficient in their job. :) Thank you for your great service!

Great Team: James, Natalie and Raymond! I am newer to Valvoline and typically go to the dealer. I love being apart of my service and learning. They were very willing to help with my questions and curiosity. I not only had a great deal I had a WONDERFUL experience at this store! These employees care about their customers, show they enjoy working there and offer "over the top" service. They were all friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough. Sare was the manager and led the work being done on my vehicle. Very satisfied and very reasonable pricing; very simply put, I will certainly go there for my next servicing.

I am extremely impressed with how polished the staff is. They all knew their jobs, and stayed on task the entire time without being brusque. I was in and out quickly without feeling rushed. The person I spoke with a Lady name Sarah was very friendly, communicated clearly, and obviously knew what she was doing. Kind and helpful. Highly recommend.

Everyone was so incredibly nice, were very knowledgeable, and walked me through everything as we went along. The manager with glasses and the nose piercing was so nice and explained everything wrong with my car in detail and gave me helpful recommendations. I will be coming back!!

The whole team here is wonderful! Lynn, Eric, and Raymond took excellent care of our vehicle and provided very efficient service. Lynn explained everything in a very professional manner. Quick, friendly, explains services. We were told the oil change would be $59 before pulling into the bay and then $81because of the oil type once we pulled in. She gave us a veterans discount which brought it down. So just know it will be about $100 if you need synthetic oil.

Great people. Excellent work on oil change, differential oil change, radiator flushed, air filter changed, fuilds checked and added, air pressure checked, and lights replaced.

Our oil percentage was quickly dropping and we had a 700 mile drive back home to Florida in front of us. We pulled into valvoline because of its convenient location. We are first time customers but will definitely be frequenting this franchise! Sara was super helpful. We actually found out where we d been getting our oil changed put the wrong plug in our oil and was causing it to leak. Not only that, they broke the screws off for the air filter cover and didn t bother to remove the broken screws or put in replacements which was causing our check engine light to come on. We are so thankful for Sara (topside) and James (bottom side)! I think Lynn may have helped us out also! We now feel safe making our 700 mile trip to Florida! Sara was informative, professional, and was clearly going above and beyond to be helpful! I couldn t recommend this place more after our experience!Service: Oil change

If you care about your vehicle, I would not recommend you take it here. Bunch of kids working there that don't care about your vehicle at all. All that matters to them is to get as many cars in and out as possible ,and not worry about the quality or care of the service they say they provide.

This is the best place to go! They are kind and efficient . They explain everything. You just sit in your car. I have had James and the manager work on my Subaru the last two times. They get an A+++. Great place !

I had a one star experience at TLC in Hollins earlier this morning. I came to Valvoline instant oil change in Troutville and was treated with respect. Good manners are essential when dealing with the public and the team here really delivers. Thanks so much for turning a bad morning into a good morning.

Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy! I normally would do my own service on my car but have been just to busy with work and what not over the last year or so. Gave this place a shot with a Groupon code. Thought everything was alright until I had them do a tire rotation and they stripped most of my lugnuts by using wrong size socket. But what ever I purchased new lug nuts and just decided to not have them touch my tires anymore. Couple months ago I noticed my engine started making a lot of noise and just didn't sound right. Come to find out they never put the oil cap back on... and of course it was not in my engine bay, so had to by a new one and clean all the oil splattered all over my engine. Never, I repeat NEVER will I let them touch another vehicle of mine!!! Could have easily cost me an engine!

The 2 lead technicians were decently experienced from what I could tell, and performed my oil change quickly and correctly. The technician under my hood for most of the time was clearly new inexperienced, he had to ask the other technicians multiple times how to use their tools, etc. This led to him installing my new air filter completely incorrectly and tried to reinstall the cover for it anyways for a good 5 minutes and ended up just giving up and leaving it unscrewed for me to pull out and have to fix it myself a few miles down the road when my car was making loud noises when accelerating. Not a huge problem for someone that knows what to look for, but for someone with no knowledge of cars they would be pretty worried. Overall the oil change went fine, they just need to do better training clearly.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil change

Truly exceptional service here! They were out of stock of the oil filter I needed, so the manager personally drove to advance auto to get one! And I was still out in less than a half hour. Best part is that I didn't have to leave my car, which is great because I have two toddlers! I won't go anywhere else from now on!

After 14 hours of driving from Maine we wearily pulled into our hotel in Virginia to find a piece under our car hanging down. In a half panic we found the closest oil change place, this valvoline. As we pulled in we realized it was closed, but when an employee came out to let us know and saw we were in a panic they actually took the time to advise us and help us out! Thank you Lynn for your calm and your compassion!

As usual, a great experience. I've been there several times, with several different vehicles, and have been impressed every time. As with any service organization, they are directed to try to up sell you on their other available services and products. Some are reasonable and others are a little out there. I appreciate that they try once, and after you said no, they stop the suggesting. I'll continue to go there as long as they continue to send me coupons. Thanks.

I give 3 stars just for the expense. The service was good. Experience was fast but they wanted to charge $100 for a full synthetic oil change. When I requested a synthetic blend it took some doing but the attendant did change and do that. Still yet my bill was $86. That seems very expensive for an oil change. I will not be coming back at those prices. The location was convenient but I will take my business elsewhere for those prices.

My daughter goes in for a oil change and the manager sends the tech out to tell her she needs a serpentine belt. Not knowing that less than 24 hours before I replaced the belt and tensioner. They trying to get over on people. Use this business at your own risk.

This valvoline location is wonderful! The staff are so welcoming and quick. I was in and out fast. Being able to stay in my car and keep the kids in their seats makes it so much easier. My husband always took care of oil changes. Recently, he lost his legs to an unexpected illness, and suddenly, this was my domain, and it was strange territory. My concern was "these guys are going to take advantage; tell me I need things replaced, when really I don't." Not at Valvoline in Troutville. If something was recommended, they spoke up, but zero pressure. No one insulted my intelligence; in fact they kept me informed throughout the process. Even had me laughing-it put me at ease. Love this place! I had the crew of Russell, Misty, Heather, and Jaxon. They were so friendly and knowledgeable! They were genuinely happy and glad to service me so early on a Monday morning. I will be back and highly recommend this business! The prices are worth the service you get!

I went in for an oil change. I do like their drive in service. Every twist and turn they try to sell you on something else. All I wanted was an oil change. It was 10 mins of no I don t want to spend another $100, no I don t want to spend another $30, for goodness sake I don t want to buy a oil plug. Their oil change was $20 more expensive than jiffy lube. I do not recommend.Services: Battery, Oil change

I've gone to valvoline for all of my oil changes, just now needing one in my time at school. So, I took to this location and instantly regret it. The staff was extremely inexperienced and my car is old. At first glance, I look like a young girl with no car experience which is an incorrect assumption. The boy on the computer was trying to tell me information while asking questions of his supervisor because he couldn't answer any of my questions. The kid under the hood with the super couldn't find my dipstick. Yikes! He then started pulling on something in the wrong side under the hood, making it very obvious he didn't know what he was doing at all. In an old car like mine, I have to be very cautious about things, so I was sitting there in absolute fear. By the time they'd come to talk to me, the kid on the computer told me we needed to flush my radiator which caused me to call my father and make sure that was an ok fee to pay. But, my coolant was recently fixed. They told me it was getting dangerous because it was black even though they were under the hood telling each other they couldn't see inside. So, how was I supposed to check it like they asked/how would they know? Additionally, my temp gauge works but my car has NEVER overheated like they told me it "had been" If it was aas bad as they said, it would've been consistently overheating. My father said it'd be cool to flush the radiator, but they then wanted to actually do a cleaning that I couldn't afford/wasn't necessary to fix it. I decided to say no all together. They didn't know what was going on. They had to switch oil filters because they had the wrong size and also forgot to check my tires. Once they'd finally brought me the dipstick after the oil change, the kid said, "Here's your current oil level," only to show me a dipstick COVERED in oil. I couldn't tell at all how much oil was in my car, only felt the need to worry they messed up under the hood. I'm having to take it to a reputable mechanic tomorrow to make sure everything is where it should be.Service: Oil change

I was near the end of a very long 3-day road trip when I had a tire get dangerously low pressure. I tried unsuccessfully to add air at the gas station, but my tire just deflated more. I called roadside assistance for help, but while connecting with them, I saw the Valvoline down the street. I drove over and asked if they could help inflate my tire. They pumped it up, brought over some spray to find the cause of the issue, and discovered some damage to the tire in the sidewall. A couple of the technicians consulted and agreed my only option was a new tire and referred me to the nearest tire store. They confirmed I would be safe to drive to the tire store and gave me detailed directions on how to get there. They were so kind and helpful in a moment of distress for me; they didn't charge anything or get any business out of it, but were very generous with time and knowledge. Since I live a few hours away, I am not likely to have an opportunity to give them my future business, but I would highly recommend this place based on good customer service and providing kindness to a person in need.
