I scheduled an appointment because of a vibration in my steering wheel. I also had what they call the death wobble in my jeep. I had been taking it to other less experienced shops for one thing after the other.They throughly checked my vehicle and found an oil leak as well. They were honest and upfront about cost of the repair. There was a lot that needs to be done.James was communicative throughout the process. I got my Jeep back it s better than expected! Definitely recommend these guys!

I'm new to the Troutville area and needed to get my car inspected. Cavalier is rated highly on google. I gave them a try and I'm glad I did. I got a tire rotation, oil and filter and Virginia State inspection the same day. They use the latest scheduling software right on the website and they have plenty of service bays covering all major systems A-Z. I even received texted reports through the day about progress. Very good value for the money. They are located on route 220 so easy to find. They are friendly, ask for James or Travis.

We love Cavalier and use them for all of our cars! They are straight forward and honest. They do quality work but don t take forever. We use them for inspection, regular maintenance and big repairs. You can t go wrong with the team at Cavalier!

Recently, my vehicle overheated about a half-mile from Cavalier Automotive. Although not familiar with their shop, it seemed convenient to have one of their technicians take a look at my car. It was determined that my head gasket had blown and caused quite a bit of damage to the engine of my car. I entrusted Travis and team with the repairs and have been happy with the outcome. Thanks for the diligent work to get me back on the road.

Always a bad experience. Dad recently dropped off his truck for service due to the radiator leaking quite a bit and overheating.. $800, 2 weeks, and no fix later we re pursuing a different shop to get the job done correctly! Stopped going here years ago due to the service always being very expensive for more things to come back wrong than what you originally dropped it off for! I d only trust this place for state inspections to be honest!

What a great bunch of people. We were traveling and had truck issues. Spoke to James on the phone and he got me right in diagnosed my truck quickly and accurately, and got us on our way again. Thank you so much guys!

I was looking for an honest automotive repair shop (please stop laughing-there really are some). Been to several area shops, one gave a 10 page report on what I need to get repaired (cost would be more than the car); next fella I passed inspection but really didn't check stuff (nice but need to know if something is really wrong); so the next fella found things wrong but I didn't check bill thoroughly but they gave me a quote on brake job (I checked out part costs and I could buy them $200 less than they could - but don't they get a discount for buying lots of parts?? They were also charging me credit card fees, shop fees and hazmat fees (give me back my parts I said but they charge anyways). Passed Cavalier so many time (always crowded so they must be good I thought) and checked them out, the shop manager James Cotic was amazing, I was so impressed by his knowledge of automobile repairs and the handling of customers. Okay book me an appointment, the mechanic Chad Priest was a heaven sent (priest - heaven yes you can laugh) knew the problem a bit more than we thought but he handled everything perfectly and I was kept updated by Manager James. Wow what a team - my new go to place for truck and car repairs. Hard working and HONEST - I am a simple fella but give me those two things and I am loyal to you. Really!?. I don't know what to say. Obviously, they love to overcharge for labor. This place is a joke and needs to be shut down. By the calculations I've done. They were charging me over $924 in labor cost to replace a radiator. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and it should be reported to the BBB.

I like to thank the entire team at Cavalier Auto for their level of professionalism, dedication to their customers and fair pricing. My alternator died enroute to Georgia, late in the day in a complete downpour. As I entered the shop after 4:30 pm, I had resigned myself to the fact that they probably would not be able to accommodate my needs so late in the day. Much to my surprise, Chad spoke up and said that if they could get the part, he would stay late to install it and get me on my way. Long story short, the part arrived quickly and Chad installed it in short order. Being from out of state, and not knowing anything about Cavalier, I expected a big bill. Not only was the bill in line with what my home shop would have charged, it was LESS! Hat's off to the team at Cavalier for honesty, integrity and most of all, their kindness to a stranded motorist. Top notch service. The team at Cavalier are friendly, knowledgeable and get you taken care of quickly. We have used them exclusively including work vehicles for a long time. They charge fair for the work and the quality is excellent! I would recommend them to anybody looking for an auto service center and feel confident whomever I recommend them to would be satisfied!Services: Engine repair, Oil change

Cavalier auto crew and the manager James were so helpful. I broke down on 81 near the shop while traveling back from vacation and they were able to squeeze me in and get my car fixed in 2 hours so I could make it back home at a decent time. The price was reasonable. If I was a local resident, I would trust and use this shop to do all my car maintenance and repairs.

The service here is excellent and they have a secure drop off area for your car. They thoroughly check the car and don t suggest unnecessary up charges. We have two cars we routinely take there and I recently started taking my mom s car too and noticed the maintenance charges weren t as high as the dealership. My husband and I have been using Cavalier for about two years and have not had a bad experience yet. Ive always grown up going to small local shops and have had a handful of mechanic friends over the years so I know some about cars and roughly what the cost should be/what to expect.I was a little wary about trying Cavalier at first since they are a larger operation than I am used to but time and time again they have proven trustworthy and competent. They have great communication, good pricing, and they have yet to try to upsell us or lie about what needs to be done.

Was traveling south and broke down on interstate 81. Found this place and they were great. Got me back on my way in great time and fixed all issues I was having and a cpl I didn't know about. Top notch for sure.

I have read some of the negative reviews and shocked. I have use this place for a few years and I get coupon checks in the mail as rewards. EVERY time I use them, service is awesome. I get a text with the inspection items and it tells me who fixed my car and exactly what they did. Updated 11/8/22: still a great automotive maintenance and repair shop.Great place for tires and car care. Mike, Travis, and James are friendly, caring, and knowledgeable about your car. Sometimes they run into unexpected problems, but they do their best to solve the problems and get you back on the road.

Walked in to ask a simple question, guy in a hat behind the counter just looked at me and shook his head for an answer. Don't know if he's a manager but his customer service ssuucckkss. Way to make a good impression on a first time customer. I'll go to a garage where the employees actually speak

We made a mistake and waited til the last day to get our truck inspected . I called Mike and he fit us in . You could tell they were super busy but they made it happen . Local businesses are so much better than chains . The front desk guys are very friendly . 10/10 recommend.Service: Tire rotationsService: Tire rotations

First time customer, very pleased with the service I received. Had an old Jeep develop a pretty significant problem on I-81. Ended up taking it to Cavalier and I'm very glad I did. Service Manager Mike and the technicians I spoke with are all straight talking, knowledgeable guys. They jumped right on it soon as I arrived and had it diagnosed in an hour. Ended up leaving it for a few days and Mike kept me updated throughout. Highly recommend the crew at Cavalier.

I took my cars to this place for state safety inspection around a month ago. You can find I even gave them a five star review for that service.On the back of my receipt, I have been given an invoice for an oil change, which was due soon. That was the only reason I set an appointment, took a work day and brought my car to this place, only to find out they are going to charge me almost twice the invoice they gave me.They claimed that oil price have risen significantly and they had to increase it. They even charged me extra for 0W-16 oil as they mentioned, this was a special oil. I found it on Amazon that you can have 5 quart of this oil delivered to your door for $26. I am pretty sure it is going to be much cheaper for them as they buy it in bulk.I took their service, only because I did not want to waste another work day and ended up paying around $100 for an oil change and tier rotation. On top of that, they tried to convince me to buy an oil flush service for a car less than a year old with only 20000 miles on it.At first, I found them to be hardworking guys, who try to earn a living but this last experience has totally changed my view. A couple days ago my truck engine light came on. I brought my truck into Cavalier to get looked at. Before I brought it in, I knew what was wrong with it. They told me that I had a cracked spark plug and need to replace it. They recommended that I replace all of them at once. I know replacing them all makes sense. When they called me, with my quote they told me it would be $650 dollars to replace all with labor. So I did my research because I knew that was WAY to high. The average cost to get it done was $250 dollars. I called a second mechanic and was quoted around the average price. I would HIGHLY recommend doing your research before giving this business any money. I do not recommend this place to work on any of my vehicles.

I taken my car here for the last 6 months and hands down the best service ive gotten for my car around. The staff is very friendly and open to your needs and truly work with you when the issues are unexpected and prices are high. I can call and ask for advice on issues im having with my car and they will always help out. They have the best oil change prices ive seem and they do an inspection on your vehicle everytime you get serviced thru them that way youre always ahead of any problems. I will continue to go here to make sure my car has the best chance.

My first visit to Cavalier Automotive was for an oil change and looking for some help on why my floor was soaked on the front passenger side. They were able to get me in and out within a couple hours and while they couldn't determine the location of the leak, they referred me to the Water Doctor and reduced the cost of their diagnostic test. Totally professional and efficient. I will definitely go there again and recommend them to anyone needing automotive repairs!!
