This motel is clean. It's close to town. It allows smoking. That's rare and wonderful. The owners are a couple I believe. She is very nice and will give you the requested room if it's available. For example: we request a king size room. It's a little less expensive than a double queen, and we only need one bed. Once my boyfriend called to make a reservation and was told a king room was available. But then when he arrived the man told him there was no king available. My boyfriend told him he had been told otherwise. So the man then pretended one had just become available and let us have it. Once I called and requested a king room. He told me he had one but it was upstairs. I told him that was fine. Then he indicated he needed to double check on it and came back and told me he didn't have one after all. We've stayed there many times. I've never suspected the lady of commiting these types of questionable and dishonest actions.

We were in the area for work. The places we always stay at were booked up. For the type and price of hotel. This isn't Holliday inn or comfort sweets. Basic rooms and accommodations. It is clean the lady at the front dest was very nice owner I think. If you need a good price and clean room it will get the Job done.Walkability: There is a pizza place it's advertised as Italian restaurant but it's a pizza place. That closes extremely early lile 730...

Booked a room for four people -two adults and two children, on Priceline for $79. Got there and they wanted to charge us $124. They said that we'd never entered our children. When we looked back at Priceline we did indeed put down four people. Very run down hotel. Only three cars in the parking lot on a Saturday night. And $79 would have been pushing it let alone $124. We went somewhere else.

Just checked in and I'm not sure what the negative reviews are for. I expected a clean room with basic amenities and got it. Good location to where I want to be, the lady at the front desk is extremely kind and sweet and it's close enough to the local establishments. If your looking for the Ritz Carlton, this isn't it. But.... It doesn't claim to be! For you guys talking about a sketchy location, you're in an area where people work hard for their money. Just go back home and schedule your dog snookies next spa day and leave the real world to the rest of us.Rooms: A bit dated but who cares. Support local businesses!

I would like to thank the nice people who owned this place for a dirty disgusting room no hot water for two days told them about it and they said because of the mining people who were staying there probably used all the hot water. Try a couple hours later, still no hot water. Try again a couple hours later still no hot water. Said something about it to the owners when we left thought maybe you d get a little bit of a rebate and she flat out said no I wouldn t even let my dog sleep on the floor. This is how bad this place is.

We happened to come into town just after a natural disaster in the surrounding area. The hotel we typically use was fully booked with residents who were displaced from their homes. I was VERY reluctant about the Fincastle based off of the price and some other reviews BUT let me tell you we were VERY pleasantly surprised. Front desk staff very friendly, room was definitely dated but it was super clean and comfortable. The room has everything you should need and nothing you don t. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again! Thank you for an affordable, clean and cozy place to stay.

Extremely friendly, caring owners/staff. Older motel, but super clean and quiet. What made it a 5 star stay was the owners and staff. Always cheerful and anxious to help with anything you need. We stayed overnight and I left my glasses in the room. Realizing that afternoon I called and they had already found them and asked me for my address to send them. They arrived a couple of days later in a protective case and in perfect shape. I tried to reimburse them but they would hear nothing of it. Will always be where I stay when in the area.

Have stayed here several times for work when weather is bad and it is very dated the sheets were not cleaned hadn't been charged from a prior stay had hair on the pillow when I turned the bed down, was.glad I brought my own sheets from pillow from home. The bathroom was very cold and the tiles were chipped an broken. Works for a place to stay but not the best place.

We had a great experience staying here. Easy, convenient online booking. Great working a/c in all of our rooms. We were in a group of about a dozen in different rooms. The walls are thin and all the doors lead to outside, no indoor hallways. Not a lot of noise from the street or people walking around outside. We got clean rooms, GREAT water pressure which was awesome because we rode motorcycles 750 miles to get there. Courteous, responsive staff. Our room was unexpectedly changed when we got there; however, check-in was handled very well. This is a pretty simple little motel, folks. This little place might not have all the bells and whistles; but, if you don't need all that and want a room to hold up for a night or two, we recommend Fincastle Motor Inn.

The woman that owns the place wanted almost double what the booking price said after we told her we were not going to do that she come outside to our vehicle and started ranting and raving saying I'm going to charge your card I'm going to charge your card that place up there is nowhere near five Stars it was a dump I highly recommend you not staying there because it's a disappointment it's a dump and the ladies crazy that owns it

Fincastle Inn was a well maintained and clean hotel. The staff was friendly and polite. Rates were fair and our room was nice. It's an older hotel and it's in a small town so don't expect 5 star amenities. However, we enjoyed our stay and will return.

Do not stay at this place! I had 3 family members and I book a room with the correct amount of people we had and they give u a price, then when you check in the price changes. I am not the only one to have this problem. The rooms were not clean, the lady there watches you, and sweeps dirt in front of your room. They made me and my family very uncomfortable. We only stayed there for Easter sat because we travel 4 hr to go to a family church out there. I will never stay here ever agian, if we were not so tired we would have left that night. We had to change rooms because we are non smokers and we had people smoke right beside us, I don't know if they worked there or were staying. It was so shady!

The toilet wouldn't flush first of all, the tub looked dirty. It had grimy brown stains and some nasty poop looking residue in the tub. I couldn't bring myself to bath and the tub water ran brown at first. Please invest in better bathrooms. Everything was okay.

Not great. If you need a cheap place, no frills, questionable cleanliness, then ok. I had no problems but questioned the security of my motorcycle outside and slept with one eye and one ear open. Didn't try the shower because it looked sketchy.

It wasn't what we expected. It was nice for the price and very nice staff but the location was creepy. The plus food places wasn't that far within 5-10 minutes away.

Fincastle Inn is a clean hotel and good enough to stay in for a few nights if you're in Tazwell, Virginia. The price is fair. The bathroom is small though.
