I've been a customer since 2018. While I enjoyed their service under their old leadership, I'm disappointed of the lack of communication since they merged to Tire Discounters. DELLINGERS convinced me to get a credit card I only could use with them for all my repair work and bought a tire package they no longer honor. I'm having to find a new mechanic that would do repairs on my car now since they no longer take my credit card which I had to close since no other location takes it. They also closed the oil lube location next door. Those guys were awesome! However, some there are trying to keep the personal experience and the over and beyond service I'm used to that keeps me coming back. I don't know her name but she's the pretty young lady at the front desk with the piercings on her nose. She's amazing and helpful. The men not so much. They converted to national corporate level where they don't need your service with how big they are now. But the sweet thin lady at the counter still gives you the mom/pop feeling where your service is valued. Thank you young lady. I'll see you again for sure.

You know, I've been going to this place for years and had no issues until now. They had been my " Go To" for major repairs. I needed my rear rotors replaced; they ordered the parts and "repaired" it two days later. I paid for the service and, because I didn't have a ride, picked up my vehicle after they closed. While driving, I heard a grinding sound coming from my vehicle and when stopped, I could smell the metal; the sound was considerably louder whenever an object (vehicle, curb, structure) was beside me. I returned my vehicle the next day, the grinding was still present on my way to the shop, and advised them of the problem. I received a call that they (mechanic and service manager) drove it and heard nothing. The service manager got a little rude at the end of our phone conversation which really teed me off. It was if I was delusional and hearing things. I picked up my vehicle after work and "Wha-La," the grinding and smell were gone. There is NO way nothing was done to correct the issue. A simple explanation of how the problem was corrected would have been proper, respected, and retained my TRUST. The trust has been lost. Admit a mistake was made and I can accept that. The next time I will take my $1,300 and my delusional hearing/smelling episodes elsewhere.

I went into the shop to have my oil changed. I had taken my old car there several times and had no issues. Since then I have found that it is under new management. And that doesn't seem to be a good thing.I got my oil changed in July but I just found out they didn't put my oil cap back on. This could have ended up really bad for me. I am so thankful that my family and I are safe. All I can say is that they have a lot to answer for!!! I WILL NOT bring my car or recommend this shop EVER again!! I'm highly dissatisfied with my service! I have pictures too. This was a great shop at one time with great management and quality service techs.

I had 2 recent problems with my car and Don in service was my hero! He provided the nicest and most professional surface ever! He showed such concern for my situation, and solved both my problems in ways that my budget could manage. I will always use and recommend Delinger's to others. Many thanks, Don, and to all the staff.

We called multiple times and never got an answer on the phone. So we completed a request for service appointment on their website. Received the confirmation email that they d get back to us soon to schedule it. That was four weeks ago. Never heard from them.

Sadly, Dillinger s recently became really bad. I feel bad for leaving a negative review because the owner is a great guy and the staff is very nice. But the work and communication has become so poor I can no longer take my vehicles here (for repairs). What happened: I took my vehicle in for a knocking sound. I dropped it off when they first opened on a Tuesday morning. Three days later I called wondering what was going on and was shocked to hear my vehicle had still not been looked at.I talked to the manager in the back and he told me he wanted the vehicle to sit for a few days before he diagnosed it. I have no problem with this, I just wish someone would have communicated what was going on with me. I told him I know longer wanted the vehicle to be looked at, as I was angry with the poor communication. I told him I was driving up there to pick it up right now. When I got up there, they all of a sudden had the vehicle on the lift being looked at. What really really really makes me angry is after they looked at it and charged me, I was told we do not do engine work . If I would ve known this, I never would ve dropped the vehicle off in the first place. This is terrible communication. This should be communicated to the customer when the vehicles first dropped off. I was charged $180 for the diagnostics, even though they did not tear into the engine and look at what was even going on. They simply started the vehicle and listened to it for 10 minutes, saying what I already told them (the front desk) which is I thought the problem was a bad rocker arm. I might as well have taken $180 out of my bank account and ran it through a paper shredder. It was the biggest waste of money as I am now forced to go to another mechanic who will actually do the work.Years ago when I first started going here, it was the best shop in all of Hampton roads. Now I will not even consider going here for anything mechanical. I ll still go for simple oil changes and state inspections though, as the staff/owner has always been and still is wonderful. If you are reading this review, and you need mechanical work, I would definitely avoid. If you need an oil change or State inspection, I would still recommend. For these reasons stated in my review, I have to leave a 1 star review.

Service dept acted like they had no idea how to change the oil in a Mazda CX5. They ended up putting the wrong oil in the car (they used 5W-30 when it clearly says 0W-20 on the oil cap) Very disappointed in their service.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Not great and not the worst. Don t expect them to to call you when your car is ready. We were told the car was ready twice when we called for an update and they said yes. So I wasted the time and gas to drive out to get the car just to find out it in fact was not done. This happened twice and gas is not cheap! The technician did a great job though.

My car had just failed inspection due to front brakes.I had purchased front brake pads previously knowing that I would be due to replace them soon.I just moved to an apt. so I was not able to install them myself.Had a hard time finding someone to install my own parts.I read some reviews about Dellinger's and they all sounded good.I was not disappointed.I called them and they said come right over and they could do it.As soon as I arrived they took the car in the bay and before long they had me fixed up and had a brand new inspection sticker on my windshield.Excellent service and they did a great job on the brakes.I highly recommend them.Robert Weiner

I've been bringing my cars here since I moved to the area in 2005. I moved away last year but I still will drive the extra miles to bring my cars to Dellinger's. The service is always fast and reliable. The people are courteous and don't try and charge you for anything you don't need. I trust them to work on my vehicles and the prices are very competitive. I wish more automotive businesses were this good.

Friendly staff, fast and efficient oil changes, all-in-all good service! I've never had to wait more then 20 minutes here (even less if you get there first thing in the morning) for an oil change or tire rotation.I will say though, as with any auto shop, be prepared for the usual suggestion to get the fluids flushed or to get something preventively done to the car even when it may not be urgent or necessary. This is my experience, and I'm sure a lot of others, at any mechanics you just have to be able to say "no thank you."Otherwise, it's not like that all the time, and in the end the service is still great and the staff is still polite and efficient!UPDATE: I've been getting great service here lately and the more and more I talk to the guys who work here the better I feel about this place. Had a transmission flush (which I definitely needed) and oil change done to my car and the thing runs smoother than ever! No complaints, I'm moving them up to five stars.

Austin and Alex were just amazing young men. I pulled in on my way back to Williasburg and they fit me in right away. They were completely upfront as to what happen and how it happen and what to tell the dealership. I took my Infinity to the dealership in Richmond and the were correct on every account. These guys were polite and knew their job. The waiting area was well stocked and very clean. I was told to go to their shop by my doctors office , in Suffolk who said both of Dellinger s business were honest and fair. Very impressed. Thank you.

I brought my car in because of a rattling sound coming from the front left tire area. They quoted me $69 to troubleshoot. When I came back to get the car they explained that the front left brake caliper slide bolts were installed improperly and they corrected it. I asked how much it cost and they only charged me the $69 for the troubleshooting. I normally do my own auto repairs and oil changes but whenever I need tires or help with something, I bring my car to them!

I have been taking both of my vehicles to the Dellinger's on Western Branch since I moved here in 2012. I trusted them and relied on the people there. I felt comfortable going there with my cars. My husband can very easily work on our vehicles but instead, we took them there.Everything was going great until I needed my new inspection sticker in September. The Camry failed the inspection and on the list of items wrong was a leaking rack and pinion. The total repairs (for all) were going to cost $1800. Money I ABSOLUTELY did not have. We spoke to a gentleman about the issue and he said for sure that it was leaking. After MUCH crying and concern, I took it to 2 more mechanics (one was a friend) and they both confirmed that this was simply NOT TRUE. There was zero leaks. There's not even spots on my driveway (FROM ANYTHING). I went ahead and got the other items repaired somewhere else and passed my inspection. Again, there were no problems with my rack and pinion. To top things off, 2 days after I failed the inspection, I got pulled over by a state trooper who threatened to have my car towed or issue a summons against me since the rack and pinion is a safety issue and I shouldn't be driving my car. I desperately explained to him that I had taken it elsewhere and it wasn't true and that I was getting the car fixed over the weekend. I was blessed that day because he let me go.So, to tell you that it was a horrible experience being lied to by the staff there, is an understatement. I trusted them, I believed in their honesty. I was apparently just a target for additional revenue by saying something was broken, when it clearly wasn't. It took every bit of restraint to not go in there and make an absolute scene by calling them liars. But, where would that get me...no where. I also wanted to report them to the state for this false repair statement. But, I didn't.Instead, I tell everyone I know to not go there and I will also NEVER go back.

We called cause we was 1hr away asked if it would be no problem to do an oil change cause we seen it closed at 9 pm. Guy on phone said yea no problem we can do it. So we headed down to the shop. Got here around 7:20pm went inside an dude tells us no sorry we have 2 people ahead of you an we need 30 mins to clean up the shop. Mind you it's only 7:20 pm. Should have just told us no so we could have went somewhere else. Now it's to late to go anywhere else. Very disappointing an came all this way for no reason. Bad customer service.

I had a oil change on Sunday. It's Tuesday so I went to my truck and seen a 3 to 4 foot oil spill. I call. And the only thing he can say is put oil in until I get to their shop. Plus they will pay what I sent on the oil. Sad, I didn't have any problems with my truck. They must not know. That we have lives outside of work, and maintenance. Very disappointed . I will see what they done and go from there.

Friendly staff, relatively quick service. I was in and out in under an hour. Check out their website prior to stopping by for money saving coupons. I saved $10 on the oil change I received today with one of their online coupons.

Service was good. When I need a quick oil change this is where I go. For a bunch of guys they are friendly enough. I like the way they share tips, listen and answer my questions.

BEWARE!!!! I came in for a tire change on my drive from North Carolina to DC because my back right tire had a slow leak. I got to DC only to find out that they changed the WRONG tire. I called to see if they could give me a refund or if there s anything at all they could do and I didn t get as much as an apology. They tried to convince me I told them the wrong tire which I know I did NOT.I will be making it a personal mission to ensure no one in the Hampton Roads area ever frequents this sketchy business.Service: Tires

I purchased a discount card for $100 that included 3 FREE Oil Changes (Up to 6 Quarts of conventional Name Brand oil). I went today to redeem one of the oil changes and they told me that I would have to pay an additional $17. I questioned the pricing and they told me that it wasn't their problem. That the owner made some deal with a 3rd party and they have been dealing with it since then. But NOW it is MY problem. The manager came back and told me the only way I could get it for free is if I switched to the "house blend " oil. The name brand oil would still be an extra charge.
