My truck broke down on 30 Dec 2023 while driving through to Florida. Chester took me in at 4pm on a holiday weekend, assessed the problem, ordered the parts and drove me, my family, and dogs to a hotel. Then he worked all day 31 Dec, through New Year's and delivered my car at 0200 NEW YEARS DAY !!! Rarely in my 51 years have I seen a work ethic like his. Amazing man, incredible service and he charged reasonable rates. Chester represents allthe best of customer service, integrity and a sense of genuine concern for his customers! What a great man.Richard HarringtonDeerfield Beach, Florida

I was driving back to bucks county, Pennsylvania from a vacation in Daytona, Florida with 3 friends when we felt my truck not driving right. So we pulled over and found out my wheel hub bearing went bad and we were stuck. I googled the phone number for Carter s and the gentleman answered very politely and was very helpful at 10:30Pm on a Sunday night. I told him my situation and he was really helpful, and told me he can help me with repairing my truck first thing in the morning so we could get back on the road. Being 5 hours from home I was very happy to find such a great shop to help us. The price was very fair and reasonable. I can t say enough how happy I was to find such great people and shop to go to. I highly recommend this shop for all your automotive needs. You can t find better people anywhere. Thank you a billion times for your help.P.S. Team Trump. We need Trump to keep shops and people like these in business. Making America Great Again.

Mr.Carter was incredible. We broke down on our way to Florida so he worked early and late to get the car fixed, even getting the part from a dealer hours away. He personally drove us to a hotel where we stayed while he worked diligently on the car. I can't say enough wonderful things about Chester Carter and his service center. Everything was A+, 5 stars. He is an amazing man who does amazing service!

This past weekend, 7/23/23, I had a couple travel trailer tires blow out on me. I called Carter's on a Sunday morning at 9:00 and Mr. Carter picked up while recovering from surgery in a hospital bed!!! Within a half hour, he had a couple of his staff members at his shop and mounted and balanced 2 tires for so me and my family were able to get back on the road safely. Highly recommend this spot if you need quick and courteous service!! Thank you for your help!!!

Mr. Carter was extremely helpful and kind in towing my car and then dropping me off at a hotel, after an accident. Very honest guy. Would recommend.

We are a military family PCSing across country. We are towing a Camry behind our RV and one of the tires completely blew out, stranding my husband while I was driving separately with kids and dogs. Carter s went above and beyond to assist us right away, to bring my husband safely to his shop, repair our issues and replace both tires (the second one wasn t in good shape either!). Highly recommend and really want to highlight such fantastic care and service. God bless your business, sir!

I recently got my car towed by this company, I specifically told Carter I needed a receipt to be reimbursed through my insurance. He told me he would leave one in my car, never left me a receipt. I have reached out several times to get one, told me he would send one and he is now ignoring my attempts to reach out. Trust me this isn t the only issue. After reading the other 1 star reviews, I totally believe them that s the vibe I got. If you need your car towed trust me save yourself the hassle and call someone else.Service: Car towing

Our tire blew on a drive to North Carolina and triple a was unable to find anyone to help. I reached out Carters and they were able to come to help get my tire changed at 2am. Was pricey but worth it as I was in need and it was the middle of the night!Service: TiresService: Tires

We discovered a 2-inch bolt screw embedded dead in the middle of a new tire, while driving up 95 North. It was nearly 100 degrees outside too, and the tires were very hot. We rode over to Mr. Carter s shop and the tire was completely flat by then. He helped us immediately, patching and repairing the tire. His good work allowed us to get back on the road and back home in a few hours. Very grateful to Mr. Carter and Joyce for the great service, a fair price, and the help we needed most. Definitely recommend them if you are in a pinch.Service: Tires

Truck drivers stay away from this shop. Kept truck for days and haven't touched it at all. When asked for estimate, no estimate on when truck will be done, excuses excuses. Charging high for towing. 4 days later had to tow it to another shop.

My daughter's car broke down on I-95 in Virginia. It was late on Thursday night and they came to tow her Jeep to their garage. They took her to nearby gas station to wait for us. Fixed vehicle early Friday so she could drive home. The personal touch was when they called her to make sure she got home safe. You do not find that level of service around anymore!! A huge thanks to the Carter's for looking after her and her vehicle.Services: Special vehicle towing, Auto maintenance

My father just recently bought property in Florida and was on his way back home to New Hampshire to gather more gear and check on things when his wheel baring busted on a front tire and he was stuck in VA halfway home. This business was amazing in helping him on a weekend AS WELL at getting him back up and on the road by the next day. They worked into the night just to help my Dad get home! Great work and awesome work ethic. Thank you!

These are the nicest people I have met. Their service was amazing and prices were better than reasonable for everything they did to get us going again. Not just a simple tire repair. Our newly purchased antique needed a flatbed tow, replacement fuel pump and new shocks. They told us beyond the replacement gas pump we could make it home with the shocks but would need them replaced when we got there (our original plan) he was so honest, and went way above any reasonable expectation of what a service shop would do we asked them to replace everything. Which they did. They got us out and on our way in one day just before the hurricane passed through. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

We broke down on our way to Florida and Chester (Carter's Towing) was the only one who answered the call. He communicated well with us and took care of the tow and did the repairs in a timely, cost. efficient manner. Never even met him until we picked the car up pm our way back to Maryland a week later. I would highly recommend him. We were in a bind with no other option and he could have stuck it to us but instead he was fair. Thanks Chester. Patrick

I went online and searched for truck repair shops near Davis Travel Plaza here in Stony Creek VA, and was lucky to get the first person contacted over the phone to come and take a look at what could possibly be the problem with my 2019 FreightLiner Cascadia. This guy, genuinely patient and polite, later identified himself to me as Chester Carter. He went above and beyond to solve my problem. After he tried so many times to figure what the truck computer was having issues with, he wisely contacted FreightLiner for professional advice and had the engine starts back. I don t know how far back FreightLiner does it but they design the newer trucks with some sort of Automatic Restrain System that has something to do with seatbelts. According to Mr Carter, it s a preventive way that forces drivers to comply with seatbelt requirement. I ll recommande everyone to call Carter s Services. May God continue to bless his work.

I can say that our travel trailer burned up a set of wheel bearings on I-95 at the weigh scale just north of Stony Creek VA. Friday at 4:45pm. I called AAA and there were no authorized RV service shops anywhere around. None. AAA told me to delay with a service dealer of my choice. I called several RV shops around a 100mile radius. No one called back even though most were still open Then I found Carter's on Google and called. Clarence was on a run to Richmond but had seen me at the weigh scale. I was told to sit tight and they'll be by later. Later came and two trucks showed up. They removed the bad wheel and ties up the axle and ushered me to a local RV park and said they'd be back the next day, Saturday. They showed up with new bearings and stuff needed to fix me up. They worked it well and fit a set of bearings to my spindle, a new hub etc and got me on my way. Time will tell on the work and here I am 12 highway hours later and a is well so far. Am I happy yes. I wouldn't have even got to talk to another shop until tomorrow and who knows about when they would work on me. Thanks Chester and your guys for getting the job done. I appreciate it. Folks, don't argue over price when you are getting special service and need help. Mine was fair and worth it! Cheers Karl.

BEWARE!!! I wish I did not have to choose 1 star for this review. These people seem very nice at first and over the phone. There are guys walking around with guns on their hips, almost as if they want you to be intimidated by them. The owner Chester Carter will take advantage of you and make you think he is doing you a favor. They are not honest people and they are way overpriced. They completed work on my vehicle without my approval. I never received an estimate or a call about what exactly was wrong. When I called (the next day) to check in to see what was wrong, I was told the car was repaired and now I had an outstanding bill. I never approved any work. The amount that they gave me for the repair was way over what it should have been. The owner cursed at me because I asked him why the price was so high. After the owner calmed down, he said someone would bring me my vehicle, come to find out my car was still having issues when the mechanic test drove my car to come pick me up. They took the car back to the shop told me it was something else that was wrong now. After that they decided my head gasket was blown. Keep in mind they test drove my car multiple times. I am not sure why they did not notice the head gasket in the beginning or maybe they blew the head gasket by driving the vehicle. Again, the owner was very nice at first, but he was very rude after his shop completed work on the vehicle and when I started to speak up for myself. Please beware of this place and Chester Carter.

READ CAREFULLY!!! All truck drivers and cars avoid this shop. The driver left the truck in the shop for estimate and repairs. The estimate was $19,350, so we decided to tow the vehicle from the shop. The VERY RUDE guy charges a storage fee of $2,000/when we pick up the truck. The TRUCK has all new drive and steers tires before we left the TRUCK for repairs; they stolen the tires and put some recaps, and used them ( OWNER OF THE SHOP SAID YOUR DRIVER CAME TO OUR SHOP AND JUST switched THE TIRES TO ANOTHER TRUCK). LIES!!!!! When I called him the first time, he said for storage, $10 a day, the driver left the truck on December 17, and we pick up the TRUCK today, so we paid $2,000 for storage because he said the truck sitting in the shop six months, but on the invoice, he wrote four months what is correct, and we got tires stolen from the SHOP.PLEASE ALL GUYS READ THIS CAREFULLY AND THEN DECIDE to call this guy for towing or repairs. Save your money and time!!! I read the reviews from others, and now I believe in all BAD COMMENTS! If I can put 0, I will do it.

Flat tire on the freeway and they came out within 20 minutes. Then we went to the shop, he fixed the tire and my family and I were on our way. Less than an hour after the flat we were back on the road and made it home safely. Highly recommended service if you need it.

After my father's house burned down and he didnt have any insurance. We were blessed to find a two bedroom single trailer for an affordable price, weeks after the house burned down. Before, we could setup the trailer we had to find someone to clean up the burned down house. I was refereed to Carters Towing & repair service. I called and talked to owner, he had already heard about the house burning down. I asked how much he charge to clean up the house and replace it with the trailer, He had giving me a pretty affordable figure. I was pleased that we will start to rebuild my fathers life again. It took Carter's service center weeks to get the job done, I understand if its bad weather, that could delay things. He had even giving use the next steps in getting a building permit, so me could setup the trailer. Finally, the land was cleaned up, I had to made several calls to discover he had finally finished the job, The Craters service didn't even call me one time to give me a update. So, weeks, months had passed the land was clean, but he never installed the trailer. I finally, called Crater services to see what was taking, so long. Crates service told we, we didn't pay him to clean up the land and install the trailer. All of a sudden he changed on me. I asked so, whats the price to install the trailer, he gave me the run around and told me he would call me back. I called Craters, a couples a week, he gave me a new excuse every time. I eventually gave up on him and took it as a lost. I found a great company in North Carolina that was about to get the done done. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CARTERS TOWING & REPAIR SERVICE CENTER !!!!!!

Beware!! They take advantage of people! My 71 yr old mother was stuck on I-95 and the police called Carter s. They came and towed her vehicle off the road with no problem. $250 for the tow, the day before Thanksgiving. Then we were unable to get the dealership to pick up the car because of the holiday although Carter s still charged her $50 for each day it was stored on their lot. Then we had to jump through hoops for me, her daughter, to pay the bill because we were a third party making the payment which resulted in us missing the tow pick up the following day which then cost an additional $50 for ANOTHER day of storage ! Do not use Carter s if at all possible!!!! They take advantage of people in need!

BEWARE OF CARTER'S TOWING! Please read review and overcharges: My driver broke down seven miles away from Carter's. Chester Carter quoted me $150 roadside call, which lasted all of 20 minutes, yet he charged me an additional $180 on top of that for bypassing the sensor so my driver could drive the semi to his shop. Carter's had to get the part from the next town over so I had to put my driver up in a hotel overnight. The next day, the first sensor was installed and that did not fix the problem so another sensor was ordered and installed and that didn't fix the problem. The next diagnosis was fixing the wires on the wiring harness and that fixed the problem, so it was a misdiagnosis from the start. It was $20 to fix the wires, $492 in unnecessary sensors changed, $100 to "pick up parts," $150 for the roadside call, $180 to bypass sensor on roadside (no parts required), $95 to scan computer, $475 remove and replace sensors/repair harness assembly, another $95 for "shop" charge, with the total being $1,634.00 with tax. Total on labor was $750 for who knows what. Even though requested, no quotes would be provided during the entire process and then the total bill was $1,634.00. We tried to get him to lower the invoice but it was a no-go. Chester Carter knows he has you where he wants you and will completely rip you off without you being able to do a thing as he knows you need the keys back to send your driver on his way. When all was said and done, Chester Carter said "I did you a favor because I got the truck running, instead of just towing the truck," but isn't that what his job is, not to extort money from you?! He would never provide a quote during the entire process. Just kept saying "It's going to be another hour. It's going to be another hour." Carter is an opportunist, taking advantage of overcharging when he knows that you're under his mercy of whatever he decides to charge you. Completely unprofessional and just another one of those shops that will take advantage of you because they know they can. BEWARE OF CARTER'S TOWING! Hopefully my fellow truckers will benefit from this review so you will not be scammed by Chester Carter, Carter's Towing & Repair.

We had an emergency around 130AM (not from here) so we did a quick google search for emergency mechanics and found this place. The gentleman who answered the phone had us send a picture of what was going on and found out the fuel filter was cracked. This man offered to take his own filter out of his own truck and give it to us to keep us moving and he would get another one in the morning. The part wouldn t work but the generosity of the gentleman helping us in the middle of the night meant the world. If I m ever in the area again, I will definitely call them.

Carter's turned a bad situation into a pleasurable experience. This is a no frills, get 'er done! kinda of shop. They were not only concerned about getting our tire replaced, but wanted to ensure we got back on the road in a timely fashion. I have to tip my hat to Joyce and Dustin--Southern hospitality at it's best. If you are within 20 miles of this shop and need assistance, this definitely is the place to call.

We were headed South on 95 on New Years Day to visit family in SC when a belt blew and left us with no power steering or cooling pump. I called and they sent a truck to pick up my Subaru right away. They were affordable, nice, and honest. We were back on the road within 2 hours.
