I left my car at the Virginia Tire & Auto Cascade Sterling Va. around 11:00 am. I was told that the car would be ready in two hours - the promised time was 1:30 pm -. My wife went to pick up the car at 2:00 pm, but the car was not ready, and she had to be seated at the shop until 4:00 pm to finally change the engine oil, State Inspection, and emission, "I left my car at Virginia Tire & Auto Cascade Sterling VA at around 11:00 am. They promised to have the car ready by 1:30 pm, which was two hours later. However, when my wife went to pick up the car at 2:00 pm, it was not ready. She had to wait at the shop until 4:00 pm to get the engine oil changed, the state inspection and emission done, the alignment fixed, and fix the alignment.

In general I think VA Tire & Auto is good, but this location doesn't seem to be. I found out, after visiting a different shop, that they used the wrong size oil filter and they left my battery terminal covers flipped up. Also after I received my car back from them, something around the cabin air filter was rattling.

I lost air in one tire twice in a week. I was able to schedule an appt online. They found a nail in my tire, which they patched and I was on my way. Friendly, fast service - thank you !

They're OK for minor things, they couldn't handle my wheel alignmentThey are always too busy to do oil change (you have to get an appointment) I went to valvoline got excellent product and service and 15 minutes later I'm out, didn't even leave my car, so from now on I won't bother with Virginia Tire and Auto for oil change.They check for stuff to suggest for service which is great but they snapped my glove compartment door damper trying to reach my cabin air filter. But the staff are friendly.

They are nice. But even with appointment your car will not be ready on time. You have to spend a whole day to get oil changed & inspections

Review your service records before signing and paying. They are missing line items and charging ghost fees. When asked about this, a representative said they have been asking for this to be corrected for years; that does not make this okay! Provide a full detailed list of your services and fees to your paying customers! Even Pep boys tells you each ridiculously overpriced service! I can t believe this!

My van broke down about 10 days ago. I was approximately 1/2 mile from VA Tire... and I didn't give it a second thought to have it towed to their shop.... I have been a loyal VA Tire client for years, taking my Cadillac as well as my mini van there for all of my car needs.VERY long story short, they took 2 days for the diagnostic - which was not a problem because they gave me a free loaner car.After telling me that I needed a new alternator, I was confident that they could do the repair quickly and I could be back on the road.Their representative quoted me $531 for the alternator and $231 for the labor plus the $167 for the diagnostic fee.I told her that the part fee of $531 seemed quite high but she said that was the price.I called another shop who quoted me $300 for the alternator and $250 for the labor. They also offered to tow my van from VA Tire to t heir shop for free!Needless to say I took the van to the other shop and I am now their loyal client for life!I also have a fleet of trucks that I manage at my place of business and I will be taking those trucks to the other shop as well.Something has changed drastically at VA Tire over the last couple years. Is it me or is it now OK to price gouge loyal customers?

I had a great experience with Virginia Tire & Auto Cascade! Hany and the service team were outstanding and provided exceptional service. The repairs on my car were completed in a timely manner and were of outstanding quality. The team's automotive knowledge was second to none, and they were able to answer all of my questions in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt like they were trying to sell me anything I didn't need. Their customer service was unparalleled, and they were always polite, friendly, and responsive to my calls. Overall, I would highly recommend Virginia Tire & Auto Cascade to anyone in need of expert advice and top-quality service.

Went in for an oil change. Was told the passenger side headlight was out and if I wanted it replaced. I told them there were no fault codes on start up when it was brought in, typical of bmws, and declined the repair. When I went to pick it up with a spare set of headlights I had, the passenger side headlight was magically working again! How convenient. I guess I ll tack on an extra star for actually doing the oil change.

Highly professional staff will help you with pleasant demeanor. Estimate is on a little higher side compared to others but their location is very accessible, clean and pleasant. Although their coffee machine was not working today, they offer coffee and water just like when you drop the car off at the dealership.I wish they would have a little more competitive pricing for me to give them 5 stars.

Was forced to pay $32 to replace license plate light or get rejection sticker.Car needed a license plate light to pass inspection. They wouldn t let me simply replace it myself. It s literally one screw holding it in. The part is less than $2. They said I would have to get a rejection sticker and then come back for inspection again. They charged me $32 to replace the tag light. It s not about the money, it s the principle. I used to take my corvette here for inspections. Never again. You guys lost a customer for life.

I made an appointment for an oil change and inspection and after performing my oil change they put my car in the back of line for the inspection making me wait almost 2 and a half hours for my car to be ready.. when I made my appointment it was not made clear I would have to wait in line for my inspection after getting my oil change otherwise I would've gone another day for inspection and gotten my oil changed elsewhere, but instead wasted a large portion of my day here. It was also freezing cold in the waiting area and incredibly uncomfortable causing my legs to ache with pain for the whole 2.5 hours. The staff at the desk were decently nice but I could tell they were frustrated with how busy they were.

We ve been taking our cars to Virginia Tire and Auto for several year now, but our last visit was the absolute worst. We were quoted $900 to fix our car. It took 3 days to make the repairs and get our car back. When we showed up to pick up the car, they were charging us over $2k! They had put a new set of tires on the car without asking us. They said it was a miscommunication on their end. I m so disappointed with how everything was handled. I won t be taking our cars back there again.

*Review only reflects emissions and state inspection*Came here needing emissions and inspection after striking out at 4-5 other places who all said it'd be a 5+ hour wait. Was immediately taken here; this location has multiple inspectors and bays and was moving cars through efficiently. Nice waiting area inside. Will return here for inspections again.

KenrickMy visit to Virginia Tire & Auto was to get my rear window repaired as it was inoperable, didn't raise/lower respond at all. Secondly i needed a diagnostic done due to my check engine light being on. Consumers beware the diagnostic charges are totally separate nothing paid goes towards your repair or labor charges which quickly increases your bill.In addition to that, the window motor/regulator assembly cost $223, however the average (high) cost for this part is only $80. I would really like to know the reason for the over double priced part? Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for service.

They are upfront with pricing & nice. Unfortunately there is no heat in the waiting area so it is freezing, no hot water or coffee available, no working outlets for laptop charging. Disappointing to say the least as I was cold the rest of the day from sitting in a freezing room. What's worse is their employees have to work in these unfavorable conditions. Very sad way to run a busy shop.

update: 3/5/2023. Unfortunately, after being a customer for a long while, we will no longer be customers to Va tire & auto. I have no idea what happened with them but every time I took my vehicle to them I would get a phone call that there were extra issues magically found and the cost would be in the thousands. One issue came up that was definitely warrantied, but the mechanic kept finding it was a different, related issue and it was not covered. I was going to fix the issue myself and on the paperwork the mechanic had written a part was in stock at a nearby store for hundreds less than the shop would charge just to install (ex: part was $30, they wanted to charge $400 to install because of almost 2.5 hours of labor). When the mechanic was told I would do the work myself, the mechanic just had to say "Well where would she get the part from?" Wow, I wonder? Maybe the same shop that you found has the part in stock. . I leave with the vehicle and no work done because I am not paying over $800 for work that was supposed to be warrantied. I notice that the vehicle is making an odd noise it never made before I took it in to this shop on this trip.A few days later I took the vehicle to another mechanic that had never seen the vehicle. The new shop did a full look over and I watched them do so. The report was shocking. The new noise I was hearing was my catalytic converter had a hole and crack in it.I cannot prove Va tire and auto did this damage to make more money, but I firmly believe this va tire and auto did damage the catalytic converter. I also believe they did not want to honor a warranty on a part they installed and instead wanted to charge me for another service. So this shop has lost a valued customer.If the owner sees this, do not bother asking me to contact this shop to resolve the issue because it can't be resolved and this shop will NEVER touch my vehicle again!After being burned by another auto repair and inspection shop we gave Virginia Tire & Auto a try. Did not disappoint at all. When I went in to get my vehicle inspected I was greeted very warmly and treated with respect. When they inspected my vehicle and found a small issue I was extremely surprised how reasonable the cost was to fix it. A previous garage would have charged probably triple the amount. Virginia Tire & Auto is excellent. Should have gone to them sooner. We will return. Highly recommend.

I had bought leather car seat covers that were hard to install. I went to several mechanic shops and I was told that they don t install car seats. I had these sitting in my car for over a month. I had came across Virgina tire and auto. I said let me try my luck and I spoke with Marta. I told her my issue. She did tell me that they don t install car seats but will have a mechanic take a look at it. She went and spoke to mechanic (THE MAN!) HANI came out and took a look and actually set up a date and installed my car seats. It literally took him 4-5 hours. That meant a lot to me. Especially, when a business that doesn t specialize in something but go out of their way to make it work. So customer service at this place is 100%. I totally recommend Virgina Tire & Auto of Cascades. Anyone have ANY issues with their car. HANI IS THE GO TO PERSON. He will definitely have your car in good hands!!!

Update 2/9/23 - Downgrading from 2 stars to 1. I thought getting our brakes done there would be simple enough, so we bought bought new brakes from them, had to come back 3 times b/c the parts were bad and the van would shake every time we braked. But the 3rd time they said the brakes were fine. We got a 2nd opinion, and they confirmed the rotors were warped. Called VA Tire & Auto but they said we could bring it in AGAIN and they'd look again, but no guarantees b/c if their tech still said it wasn't the brakes, then they couldn't help. Took a few months before we could get back in, they confirmed the parts were bad but now we were out of warranty from the original purchase (few thousand miles over). In my 3rd visit, had they properly diagnosed the brake problem, we would've been within warranty. Spoke with the manager and even their Director of Sales and Development, who was ill-informed of the vehicle history and kept confusing the labor and parts costs, and eventually would only comp the parts but still charge $150 labor to fix their warped rotor.In the end, after waiting 2 days, we picked up our van with nothing fixed. I think this was a big customer service failure.=================We've had two bad experiences now with this store. In short, it seems they're fine for run-of-the-mill, "scripted" services. But anything "off-script" or needing diagnosis/troubleshooting goes poorly. Most recently, I took my van in b/c it didn't start. I told them the lights worked fine, radio was fine, so the battery wasn't an issue. They did their "VAT" Test and charged me $60 to tell me my battery and the electricity was fine. But... I told them I already knew that was fine. The van was starting fine, so I understand not being able to replicate the problem makes things harder, but when I explained the behavior when the van didn't start, they didn't have any ideas what else to check or look at. It seemed like all they knew to do was "If doesn't start, run VAT Test" and that was it. I'd take a vehicle back in for routine maintenance, but that's about it.

Worst auto repair shop I have ever used. The service advisor gave me an estimate and when I called the next day the cost had increased by over $300 (which I never authorized). They treat your bill like an open bar tab, just adding more labor because their technicians are apparently not competent enough to properly diagnose the real problem. Finally had to work with the store manager to get it resolved. Now a couple weeks later I still have a problem with the engine (which they supposedly fixed) so I took it to someone else who fixed it with no problem. Will never go to this place again and neither should you.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Honestly I d give this location 0/5 for timely work. I understand things happen but the fact that they will not update you on the estimated time to completion of the work is abysmal. The staff is friendly enough but maybe not knowledgeable I was told that there were two alignment stations originally only upon my final time asking about my status was I told that there was only one technician available for the type of work I needed.How does and appointment scheduled at 12:30 pm at an estimated length of 90 mins, finished by 2, take until 5 pm? The whole purpose of an appointment is to try and get work done in a timely manner otherwise I wouldn t have even made one to begin with.On top of that in my initial call and setting up the appointment I was told that a symptom of my issue was a shaking steering wheel; however, upon completion they informed me that it would be a totally different service.Not only all of that but they also attempted to get me to just come back another day at 4 pm after 3.5 hours of waiting. Who would choose to sacrifice another day to uncertain deadlines I ve already spent an entire day off with a single service.Do your research maybe look for a location with better staffing/scheduling because if you re looking for same day service which is promised you will be immensely disappointed.

This is the best car repair place that I ve been to in the area. I will also say that this is the best location within the VA Tire & Auto organization. Go see Marlon or any of the other people there.
