I have a Tundra and a RAV4. I have always had excellent customer service and maintenance performed by them for my vehicles. The only down side is the while waiting on the service to be completed at this location. It does not seem welcoming but does have an TV, play area for kids and a coffee pot. Besides that you must bring your own snacks or purchase them from the vending machines. I would expect and better customer service in this area. But I will be going back to purchase new vehicles in the future

I just bought a 2024 Prius here. My primary salesperson, Dave Woods, was outstanding. He gave me excellent advice on the car, and shared several tidbits that less experienced people would not have known. Beth Clemmer was equally great. When Dave was out for a period, she stepped in seamlessly and provided caring and thoughtful service. The "financing" part was a breeze. Dustin Campbell's approach was low-key, transparent, and personable. I am sold on these guys. Great dealership!

I absolutely love their service department. They are great people who don't try to sell you services you don't need. Matter of fact, they even recommended I not do a service when it wasn't justified! I will only bring my vehicle here even though I live in the Charlottesville area. They are the best!

Gerald Wells and the rest of the team at McDonough Toyota made our purchase of our new 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road smooth and easy. Even my husband said it was the most laid back dealership he s ever been to. I highly recommend McDonough Toyota, even if it s a further drive for you. (It s about an hour from our house and worth the drive!)

The people here are always very kind and try to be as helpful as possible. Unfortunately, I usually experience long delays when getting service for very minor issues despite making prior appointments. Today for example, I arrived at a scheduled 10:30 appointment. No one told me that several of the technicians were out sick and I was lead to believe that my appointment was still going on as scheduled without any delays. I was there for over 2 hours for very minor service. This happens frequently.

AWFUL! UNPROFESSIONAL! I applied for a specific vehicle and sent a message on Sunday that I would secure it with a Deposit. I had to call and follow up vs getting a call from the Sales/Finance Dept. I called at 2 pm and the sales person who auto-emailed me on Sunday left for the day and another let me know that the vehicle I wanted, need had now been sold. Likely a hit to my credit as well. This is unbelievable and Unprofessional. I will make additional complaints to the VA BBB as well. I was serious about this purchase and need this particular make, model and year for certain reasons. The LACK of Care to an applicant on your website is appalling, WHY EVEN DO SO? And I was coming from out of state (nearby). I wasted my time looking and applying as well as stating I wanted to secure it with a deposit to hold it while processing it. No one called me this morning to discuss it. Horrible sales practices.**Appreciate the Response, unsure if it is actually true or not. Either way, have a more timely response to inquiries as well as removing vehicles that are sold on Saturday from the website or a way to post SOLD on it to avoid these types of circumstances. I'm in sales as well in an industry where if an application is on the product it is no longer on our website unless denied/cancelled etc.

Great experience purchasing a used car! Saw a car I was interested in on one of the used car web sites. Since it was late I sent a contact message asking if the vehicle was available. My message was answered promptly the next morning letting me know that he car was still there. Set up a time to be there between 12 and 1 that same day. When I arrived, Mark had the car pulled up front and running waiting for us. Absolutely no pressure tactics to sell and were willing to let me take the vehicle home for two days to check it out. We actually made the decision to purchase car the same day and didn't need the extra time. Purchase process was quick and easy and the dealership kept the car to service and detail it. Sent me a message when it was done so I could come pick it up. Have to say this purchase was by far the easiest and best vehicle transaction I have ever done, and I have purchased quite a few vehicles over the years. Shout out to McDonough Toyota (and especially Mark Brooks) who made my purchase experience a great one!

Thank you Chris Lint for a awesome experience and your patience while I found the right car you answered all of our questions with a smile and honesty through the whole process. By far the best car salesman we have ever had. Thank you Chris!

Contacted this dealership through CarGurus and was ghosted completely. I left a review on that site and their response was to pull all listings on CarGurus rather than address their unprofessional behavior that was leading to poor reviews. I would avoid this dealership.

Not one to typically review but McDonough deserves it. Live in Charlottesville but this is the 2nd vehicle I have purchased from this dealership. Quite honestly, the staff and prices are better than Charlottesville. Beth and Dave (and another gentleman as well) were professional but not solely focused on "bottom line" or their "cut" of the deal. It was evident their objective was to ensure another customer left satisfied. I purchased a vehicle that was used and even after the sale they noticed a locking mechanism issue with a door. They could have easily let this slide and allowed me to pickup vehicle. However, they informed me of the issue and corrected. This example speaks to the character of the staff at McDonough. Thanks for another great experience!

I have wanted another truck for 10 years and had my eye on a Tacoma. I was not looking but fate forced me to look for a new car after my old Nissan was totaled in a hit and Run. My wife and I stopped in at Mcdonough and it was the best decision we made in our car buying decision. We had plenty of uninterrupted time to browse without a salesperson chasing us around when we were ready My wife went in grabbed the first free salesperson and the rest was history. The team here is wonderful I can not say enough wonderful things about the staff. This was my first brand new vehicle purchase ever and the experience was beyond perfect if there is such a thing. All of the staff is friendly and helpful and they clicked so well with our personalities Dave Woods was our salesperson and in 5 minutes my wife and I felt like we had known him for 20 years. Again I can not say enough about how wonderful our experience with Mcdonough and Toyota has been. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you want to hear more details or have me write a multi page review of all the things that made our experience so WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 14 years of driving the same Camry (233k miles), it was a time for my wife to look for a replacement vehicle. And after a few evenings of "homework" we've decided to consider an Accord and a Camry. The plan was to drive them both first, than go home and decide which vehicle we (she) like better, and then I can look around for the best deal money-wise.A few years back we had a very unpleasant and stressful car buying experience at the local (closer to home) dealership so we've decided to drive around an hour away and check the dealerships in Staunton. A friend from work recommended Mcdonough Toyota based on his experience.First stop was at the Honda dealership - they were pleasant to talk to but we did not get excited about the vehicle. We than drove to the Mcdonough Toyota and spoke with Dave Woods. Explained him our "history" with Toyota vehicles, as well as our initial plans (drive a few, go home, decide, shop for the deal, etc...). That didn't discourage him to show us two trim levels that would work for us, point the differences and offered us a test ride, get this.....with or without him! He trusted us with the vehicle to offer us that option. We felt appreciated. Still, decided to ask him to come with us since we were not very familiar with the area.During the test ride Dave was not intrusive, politely pointing a few details but otherwise letting us explore the vehicle and it's ride. Got back to the dealership, sat inside and Dave presented us with some "numbers". Yes, he was right - he really DID made us an offer that was hard to refuse. And after clarifying just a couple of details, and against our plan, we've decided to purchase the vehicle right there and then. We realised that the offer is fair, their approach very friendly and worth of our business, even unplanned. The whole process was stress-free, very pleasant and fun. Dave was knowledgeable and tactful, giving us time and space when needed....and zero pressure. None. I purchased my fair share of vehicles in my life and this is the first time that there was no pressure, no "games", no gimmicks. We felt we could leave at any time and with no hard feelings, we were given enough time to think and talk it over, even offered to think about it and let them know. How often does that happen? When buying a new car nowadays, buyers are spending a lot of money. It's a commitment. So it better be fun and pleasant. And the fact is that most of the time it's just the opposite. And today at McDonough Toyota (yes, we bought our Camry today and I'm already writing a review) Dave made it just the way it should be - pleasant and fun.Thank you, Dave.Draga and Sinisa Vasquez

Huge shout out to Dave, Derrick, snd Beth!! They helped get me the deal I wanted in less than 48 hours!! I came from quite a ways away and they made everything happen as needed. An amazing car at a great price and just really great costumer service all around! Thank you!

Do NOT trust them with your car repairs! Besides terrible service in general and not having my car fixed, they asked several times if the mechanic could drive my car home. I said no each time. When I got my car back today, it had been driven 110 miles. They claimed to have fixed the issue twice and I had to take it back twice because the issue just came right back. I have placed several calls to the service manager with no response. Don t waste your time or money here!

We had a very easy and pleasant experience, purchasing our new Tacoma here! Dave woods was pleasant and easy to work with. No markup, no hidden fees, no pressure to add bogus stuff. We were in and out within about 1.5 hours which is great timing for buying a vehicle. Financing was also a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this dealership! Oh and you can t beat the $299 processing fee anywhere!

Sales Consultant Gerald Wells was very informative and patient helping my senior citizen father select a car. He truly listened to my father's needs and matched him to a car that my dad absolutely loved and gave the family a sense of relief as being safe and reliable. For over a year, my father would pop in and ask Gerald about features of the car and each time, Gerald made himself available and patiently walked him through it. My father just passed and when we brought back the lease, Gerald was so sorry as if he lost not a customer but a friend. If you want a honest sales person who will treat you like family and believes customer service goes beyond the signature on the paper, look no further.

My husband had gone to McDonough to "order" a vehicle back in late November. He paid the $1000 deposit and had a printed order with the vehicle we wanted and the options we wanted to be added on. Flash forward to January and Gerald Wells called back saying that we needed to pay an additional $680 because the factories weren't building vehicles without blind spot monitors, which are listed as optional for the vehicle we wanted. We did not want that option on our vehicle, and we did not want to pay extra for something we didn't want in the first place. We are now in the process of getting our deposit returned. If dealers are going to insist on forcing the ordering process on the public they need to hold to the purchasing agreement. Insisting on extra payment for an option that is not requested is verging on extortionate.

My husband and I purchased a 2022 Highlander here recently, and salesman Richard H. was tremendously helpful to us throughout the process- arranging for test drives, assisting with the ordering process, and facilitating the purchase the day of. Trading in our old vehicle was a smooth transaction as well and the price offered was fair. The dealer warranty on the vehicle we purchased is also a good value. Would buy with them again and highly recommend for new or used vehicle purchases.

Horrible experience. David had horrible customer service. I contacted about a vehicle on their website. David s exact words were it has not been cleaned detailed or through the shop yet so it is not ready for sale at this time" I went back and forth with David over 11 days via email and kept asking when it would be available. He kept saying it was still in the shop. Next thing I know, the car gets sold out from underneath me beforeI even got a chance to look at it. Not sure how a car that is "... not ready for sale at this time" can be sold before I was even told it was ready. Shady salesman tactics. I would not recommendthis dealership to anyone.

Con artists who will say anything to defend their lack of service and inability to fix a vehicle. A vehicle needing to be driven 100 miles to diagnose an "intermittent" problem is ludicrous, especially on top of the diagnostic fee and $250 in labor to replace one component that didn't fix the problem. This problem happens as soon as the vehicle is shifted from Park to Drive, 100 miles of driving isn't needed to figure that out. And let's not forget that the dealership's initial "fix" was to clear codes...twice....and hoped that the problem resolved itself.

We were traveling to NC and had a check engine light come on. Fortunately we were only 12 miles from this Toyota dealer. They were THE nicest people ever!!! Gave our pups treats and eased my super stressed self. Hope we don't have an issue on our next adventure but if we do, I hope it's in Staunton!! Many thanks to all of the kind staff.

I've heard about this dealership for years but just recently purchased a vehicle from them. I gave them a 5-star rating because the feeling I got when I was there was one of low pressure, great attitudes, fair pricing. Jimmy was great and answered all my questions, knowledgeable easy going. Helen in finance was terrific as well, you sensed that that these people felt they were sitting in your place and treated you that way. I would definitely recommend them.

Great vehicle buying experience! This was my first time purchasing through a dealer and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the whole process was. Dave, Richard and Helen helped me and I can't speak highly enough of their kindness and professionalism! I honestly feel like they would treat everyone the same regardless of if you are buying the newest or oldest car on the lot. Definitely no pressure, no judgment, and no hassle! Despite living in Harrisonburg I'm more than happy to make the drive to Staunton for all my Toyota needs going forward. I highly recommend the McDonough team and I'm very happy I decided to do business with them!

100% recommend. Dave Woods was my Sales Specialist and he was upfront and excellent to work with. For reference, I bought a 2022 Corolla. I also use their service department for my 2022 Camry and have always had a great experience. And don't tell them I said this, but I marked my tires to see if they were doing tire rotations properly and they passed with flying colors, haha! This specific dealer also offers an engine for life guarantee which can be used at other Toyota dealerships, granted it is only valid for the original owner.Folks, in this day and age of car shortages, McDonough Toyota DOES NOT add that BS "market adjustment" to any of their cars. They offer the car at MSRP, with a meager doc fee of $299. There may also be a small fee for all-weather floor mats or door guards, but that is a manufacturer option and not installed at the local dealership, so they have little control over that.I was not trading in a vehicle, so I can't speak to how fair their trade offers are, but to get a new car for $299 over MSRP is a steal. Long gone are the days of wheeling and dealing for discounts, but they offer a great product for a fair price. Keep in mind that there are very few new cars on any dealership lots, so you will likely have to wait 1-2 months for your perfect car to arrive from the manufacturer.

I cannot express the professionalism of this dealership. I bought a Tacoma yesterday and dealt with Dave Woods, I highly recommend him, he went above and beyond to make sure my experience was excellent. I had an issue with my truck and he came in on his day off to correct it,as a matter of fact he is personally doing it himself. I highly recommend him.

Absolute pleasure to do business with.Gary was responsive, provided all the information that was requested and did not push beyond ensuring that my questions were answered. On the day of the purchase everything was smooth, the vehicle was in great condition, cleaned and ready to go.Dustin provided a quick closing without heavy sales pressure but ensured I knew all my options.Overall the team at McDonough exceeded my expectations for a top notch dealership. I'm looking forward to taking my vehicle here for service and will be looking hard at options for my wife's next vehicle. Thanks to everyone at McDonough for a great experience.

This dealership purchased my car from me Friday. I was promised several things by the used car manager. After I signed the papers I questioned when I would receive what was promised and was told that it was included in the purchase price of my 2017 RAV4, which is not what we agreed upon. I felt McDonough had a better reputation of being honest and standing by their promises they do not. BUT, if you like dealing with people that doesn t have integrity then this is the place for you.

I just wanna day that I have purchased many vehicles at several different dealerships and have dealt with many terrific salesmen, but McDonough Toyota and The salesman Don has by far exceeded the best car buying experience I have had so far. It was the most painless, no pressure, no hassle buying experience with great customer service. We even called back with a few very minor things that we didn t notice the night we purchased our vehicle and called Don about them and with no hesitation he was willing to fix those small problems and make things right. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle this is the place!!!

Can I just say WOW! Our family just recently purchased our second vehicle from McDonough Toyota. The quality of the team they have here is SUPERB. Jimmy was extremely helpful and qualified in putting me in the perfect vehicle. I absolutely love my new Jeep Cherokee and it has everything I was looking for. They made the car buying process a breeze after the recent total loss of my previous vehicle. Helen also went ABOVE and beyond to make sure I was getting the best deal possible. She worked tirelessly for 2 days to get me the exact payments and rate I needed. This was our third time dealing with her and she always goes out of her way to not only help but make you feel like a friend. I ve never felt so well taken care of elsewhere. I will never go anywhere else for my car buying needs!
