We normally stop here on our trip heading north since it about half way. We have pets and they have a good pet policy and a good area behind the hotel for walking them. This is a popular stop for workers and such, so the parking will fill up fast. The rooms are pretty clean, but starting to show some age, but are a very good size if you have a few people. Would recommend to anyone and will stay there again.

Rooms are outdated, BUTStaff was wonderful! Management had no problem giving me a different room. Also,Devin at front desk went above and beyond for me,offering to help me move my room, as I am disabled, and was truly concerned about my happiness there! All staff was friendly, and if we come through town that way, we will definitely be going there.Hot breakfast is served everymorning, and if there's anything you need, they are very accommodating.

Staff and breakfast make this place! Staff are all excellent! The upkeep on this hotel is OK. Room condition is OK. Price is over valued.Noteworthy details: Right next to the Interstate, gas, food, Wal-Mart for ease of access.

I came to town to visit my family for the 4th of July. We came to comfort Inn because we had 2 small dogs with us, and they were the only ones pet friendly. Let me start off by saying, my first room was not cleaned. There was spilled juice in the fridge and carpet was disgusting. I asked for a better room, and got a little better as the room before smelt awful. I have stayed at many comfort inns and have always had a wonderful experience. This one though, was grimey. I had to go to a dollar store and purchase cleaning material as the room was just not up to good standards. After this experience, I will never ever stay at a comfort inn again. The worst part was that I never even got a discount or nothimg after I complained of my room being disgusting. Please, if u read this and u are a cleanly person, stay somewhere else. I couldn't wait to get out of that room!Rooms: Dirty and smelly. Mold on wall in bathroom. Mold in grout of tub. Dirt on ceiling. Pee under toilet seat that was there before we used the toilet.

Friendly staff. Just felt it was overpriced, considering surrounding hotels were the same price (or lower) that were better maintained and had a pool. However, they were pet friendly, which is nice. Some clean up on the exterior would be recommended. My dog ate an old chicken bone scattered on the grass and got sick. Some Sections outside are in need of clean up. Slept good.

Checked in and the front desk lady was super friendly and helpful- When my wife and I got into our room we noticed how clean and roomy it was. It was also very quiet and had alot of room for parking! The-Wi-fi worked great and liked how they had alot of pillows on the bed. There was a free breakfast that we ate before we left and plenty of hot water! Thank you to all the staff at the South Hill, VA location for being friendly and helpful! We will be back!

One star because the front desk staff were nice, we should have asked to be moved from the moment we walked to our room. Other guests were in the hall way yelling at each other. When we returned to our room later the same guests were arguing in their room. We figured it wasn't that bad since it was only 10 pm. We were wrong. This went on until 3am. When I called the desk they sent someone up but nothing happened. After driving 9 hours I just wanted to sleep. We always book comfort inn, I will not be returning to this location when we return in August.

Staff was nice especially Marsha. The place was nice and clean. Only issue we had was the sheets but that was corrected for us. The beds was comfy. Our room was a nice size. The breakfast was okay considering the covid. They did have a variety of grab and good items. It was a nice and quiet. I wish it had a pool though then this will be our to go place when we our out of town.

We got there at midnight after a 15 hour drive. the 2 ladies at the desk were mid convo and acting like they didnt see me walk in.. Finally got our keys. Bed was hard. Room smelled like onions and AC didnt work... had to get another room with AC, which smelled like smoke. We were tired and it was a place to sleep. The pillows stunk like when you dont wash your pillowcase for a month and there was blue body wash on the shower wall... But there was a good breakfastwont be back there if ever passing through again.

I travel for a living, staying in hotels around 300 nights a year. This hotel was one of the best I've stayed at. I booked a king room and when I checked in the girl at the front desk informed me that since I'm a diamond choice rewards member she upgraded me to a king suite for the same price. After having a rough week of work this was a pleasant and much needed surprise. She was also kind enough to recommend a restaurant that delivers when asked for a recommendation, as well as supplying a menu. The room was clean, well furnished, and the bed was comfortable and the staff was professional and courteous. Well done Comfort Inn and Suites South Hill ... I'll definitely stay again next time I'm in town.

We stayed here on our ways to and from our destination. The rooms were clean and comfortable and spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids to move about freely. I think my favorite part of our stay was the friendly staff (on both stays) that made us feel like family. As things ran out in the breakfast area, they were kind enough to ask if we needed more even though breakfast was coming to an end. We would absolutely stay here again!

While attending my mother's funeral, my sister requested a group of rooms for those of us coming from out of town. When we arrived, my room was rented out to someone else due to a misunderstanding of dates between my sister and the staff. I was given a bed and couch with a pull out bed instead of the two queens requested. When asked about a refund or a discounted rate, since this wasn't what I requested, I was told the room I reserved was already discounted as a part of the group rate (the price I paid for a room and two queens) and that the hotel had already lost a night's worth of revenue due to the previously stated misunderstanding. I was told nothing could be done about the price and I couldn't get a refund. The woman who checked us in wasn't understanding of the situation at all and almost immediately got defensive. Entering the hotel I noticed several men lounging about the stair well, which I had to take due to a broken elevator. One was sitting in the lounge and then later on the stairs on his phone without a shirt on like it was his living room. Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a smell combination of mildew and mothballs. Inspecting the bathroom I found a good amount of rust, possibly explaining the smell. When asked about water damage, we were told there wasn't any. When my son got in the shower we found out the tub didn't drain. When I tried to call down to the desk I found the phone wasn't plugged into anything. I walked down to the front desk and was told that a ticket would be left for maintenance for the following day. I know it's not a huge deal, but just another sign of upkeep was shown when I opened the mini-fridge and found a huge block of ice. Usually I try and only leave positive reviews, but this was pretty bad. Most reviews seem to be positive for this place, so maybe my experience was just a fluke.

Overall decent place to stay while I was in the area for work. Things we re clean but the shower took 8-10 minutes to warm up everyday on the third floor

Had a mishap from a partner hotel. Brittany was more than understanding when I showed up late and I was able to get an amazing room! I'll definitely be stopping here again on my way back from my work trip. Everything was clean and comfortable for a good night's sleep

Friendly staff, clean rooms. Nice shower-head (pet peeve when it isn't). Dog friendly. And they have 110 AC hookups in the side lot, great for trickle-charging my EV overnight!

We originally booked at another hotel that was absolutely horrible. We we able to book with Comfort Inn last minute and bring our two pets. The room was clean, smelled good, and was very nice. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to greet us and ask if everything was ok. The breakfast every morning was nice as well. The only thing we didn t enjoy was Fox News stuck on the TV in the lobby while we ate every morning. I think they should keep politics out of their customers stay as much as possible. We heard quite a few other people complain about the station as well. All in all though it was a very nice stay and we would return.

Very reasonably priced hotel with decent amenities and friendly service. The showers were equipped with plenty of safety items so would be an excellent place for handicapped and the elderly. Downside: walls are paper thin so can hear conversations all too well and the mattress was unpleasantly old smelling despite having clean sheets. The hotel is pet friendly which is good and bad depending on tolerance. If you are looking for a cheap place to flop for under $90, this is an great choice.

It was a great stay. I only stayed one night. I called in the late evening and spoke to Jessica and she was the most pleasant person I had dealt with all day which made my day a little better. The room was clean and smelled nice. I actually had 3 rooms reserved for the night. One of the rooms the door know was broken on and when I went downstairs Jessica happily changed the room. The only downside is that people were loud all night and no smoking rooms.....

Hotel is very old, bathroom had mold and doors are scratched the night table lamp received a punch and it was turned towards the wall so it wouldnt be seen.Non-smoking rooms and our room was a connecting room and the other guest was smoking marijuana and the smoke came through to our room after listening to all the action in his room he screamed and kicked out a women at this point we were ready to go! the breakfast is cereal muffins bananas and old apples.. my 3 year old could not handle the marijuana smell so we had to checkout at 4:30am ( the front desk employee was surprised q 3 yr old would be wide awake). At 4:30am we hit the road for 10 hr drive and with no sleep. Thanks Comfort inn and a $112.00 horrible night.

Not a bad hotel to stay. Great for long term stays as well. You get what you pay for but staff is extremely nice and they offer breakfast every morning for free. The room might seem a bit congested because of some of the big furniture they have in there for it ends up being perfect for those staying long term and they have windows that actually open, which helps with ventilation. Other amenities include a coin operated washer and dryer, a small fitness center and computer with printer. I would recommend.

Truly enjoyed my stay here the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I endured a person tragedy that they worked with me on and I truly appreciate them for that it meant the world. I even applied for employment here and was very interested in joining the team. My stay was awesome and I was very impressed until I was at the front desk talking to one of the staff members and the General Manager Jessie called and was cursing her out and talking to her like a dog and I could hear him loud and clear. He then showed up at the hotel and when he got there did the same while I was standing right there which is so unprofessional to do in front of a hotel guest. So when I spoke up in her defense he cursed at me and it honestly was hard to hold my composure but I let him know how rude and disrespectful he was and that it was humiliating for him to call me out of my name or talk about me. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone for employment especially after witnessing how he treats his staff but also because he discussed my personal confidential information with people who he should not given that info to! Great people work there but horrible person managing!!!!

I spent a night at this hotel 37 times within a two-month period. While staying here, I found stains on the carpet, on the sheets, on the towels, on the walls, on the lamp shades, in the microwave, and in the fridge. I noticed in one bathroom, a black stain on the ceiling which I suspect to be mold. Two of the rooms, which I was assigned to, had the lingering smell of cigarette smoke. One time, I asked the front desk if they could pass a message to the cleaning crew to clean the AC unit after I found it full of dust-balls. When I got back to my hotel room, the dust balls were still there, no one had cleaned them. The amount of dust in the rooms contributes to me waking up every morning with allergies. There were several occasions when the cleaning crew did not enter my room to empty the trash or restock the tissues. On one occasion, the cleaning crew skipped my room when my trash was full and needed emptying. I called the front desk for the cleaning crew to empty my trash, but they had already left. In fear of leaving the trash overfull and getting roaches, I gathered the trash and threw it away myself.

Would give a 7 on cleanliness. Some updating done. Bathroom was very nice. Beds have padding on top.. So semi comfortable. 3rd floor was quiet. Price was high for the quality and being a week day.

The hotel and room was very clean, well stocked and had updated appliances including USB charing plugs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even have pocket sized bottles of hand sanitizer at the front desk . The breakfast was good with choices from breakfast sandwiches, cereals, waffles and pastries.

Nice! Stopped here for a quick overnight. The night clerk Sandra was very pleasant and professional. She seemed happy to be there.Everything was clean, even the bathroom vent. The fitness room though small, had a "home" gym with some 40+ exercises on it. I was able to get my circuit training done no problem, even though I was unfamiliar with the unit. There was an illustrated chart which showed everything; that almost never happens. The treadmill worked well, the elliptical worked well after getting instructions from a clerk.Breakfast was standard free stuff but was actually decent. The egg patties were not rubber dried out disks for a change and the sausage juicy without being greasy. Coffee was hot and tasty with some depth and the waffle wasn't too sweet. The WiFi was actually fast. I did not get a chance to do a speed test. But it was easy to sign in and get all my downloads and updates. The bed was comfy and nice and firm.In all probably one of the best quick stops I've had since I can remember. Not even any weird smells...!
