Do not take your vehicle here for any kind of diagnostic work. When I bought my Miata 2 years ago I took it here for a gas tank replacement. The car ran for about 6 months before the fuel pump went out again. I took it back to Jimmy's and it took him about a month to get the car back to me. After that another 6 months went by and again the car stopped running. For the 3rd time I took my car back to stone auto repair and it took a month an a half to get the car back to me this time. It ran for just 1 day before the car stopped running.Do yourself a favor and go to a good mechanic the first time. Lesson learned.Jimmy has multiple occasions called me and told me that the car was ready to go and minutes later or a few days later the car has died on me. Jimmy could be a reliable mechanic if you only need brakes or oil changes but beyond that I would never take my car here.

My sister went here to get her headlight replaced by this mechanic , we ordered the wrong part. so we had to get him to re-install the shattered but still working headlight. it didn t work after he re-installed it, so we called and he claimed a 250 dollar piece went missing that was causing the light not to work. he stated that somebody must have unbolted it it was still attached to the light the first time and then was not there when we dropped it off the second time . and when my mom showed up insisting that we did not touch the light between visits, he was very quickly able to find the expensive part he left bolted onto the headlight in his shop. He also did not issue a refund, justifying this with his offer to put the part back on my car. But we will never let this man touch any of our cars again.

Came highly recommended by a neighbor, took my 2007 ford sport trac in for a noise in the front end. They quickly and professionally diagnosed the issue and worked me in the following Monday. They even found an issue with the exhaust and fixed that. Everything was completed by 1pm on the day promised and for the great price they quoted me. Can t say enough good things about Stone Automotive in salem va!! You guy s now have a new customer for life!! Highly recommend them for your automotive repair needs. My truck Shirley Jean now runs like new and is ready for the next 200,000 miles.Service: Steering & suspension repair

ABSOLUTELY 5 STARS!! Long story short, my husband and I were driving from NH to NC and our car broke down. We made it to a truck stop and spent the night in the car. The next day Stone Auto helped us with everything. The car was towed to them. My son picked us up from NC and went about our vacation. The mechanic called us and said the car was alset. We thought we would be leaving the Cadillac in VA and looking for a new car. He kept our car safe and sound and we picked it up on the way back through. These guys are the BEST!! Stone Auto Repair agreed to check out the sunroof on my Mitsubishi Endeavor when nobody else would. Jimmy was amazing and fixed the sunroof in less than an hour. Jimmy and Kindra were so friendly. They have a new customer. Just fantastic.

While traveling back home from NC our car displayed an error to turn engine off. Long story short, Jimmy and his crew were able to fix the issue and put us back in the road within a day! Super efficient and their prices are definitively within our budget. Why would you go with a regular mechanic when you can have specialized technicians?. Jimmy is an the best Automotive Tec in the Roanoke valley. He WILL NOT try and sell you on something that you don't need for your car or truck. He is honest and cares about his customers. The day we met him, my Pregnant wife and I Broke down not far from his shop. I went into the auto parts store to see if I get some help with my Tahoe. They recommended Stone Automotive. I called Jimmy. He drove his truck over to my Tahoe and towed me to his shop. He fixed it on the spot!!! I was blown away how amazing he was to work with. Bought a used Subaru today from a lot in Salem and wanted to get it checked out by a mechanic first. We decided to stop here after checking reviews, and Jimmy fit us in 30 minutes before closing.He was very knowledgeable, open and honest! I would trust him for any service on a car!! I took my daughters car in, the AC wasn t working and we have had poor service from another local repair shop. Jimmy was great , I dropped the car off and within hours he called with his diagnosis. His price was soooo reasonable and his work was quick. Highly recommended!!!! I ll refer friends and return in I need more repairs.

Great guy!! I experienced car trouble on 81 while passing through and Jimmy was an amazing help! I called one auto repair shop and was told it was his catch up day and he could not see my car even in an emergency but to call Jimmy. I called Jimmy and he had no problem checking out my car on a Sunday when he wasn't even open! Read my computer system, checked out my car, and recommended where to go get what I needed to get back on my way without even charging me! I can not say enough good things!! Thanks again Jimmy!

Heard about Jimmy and Stone Auto from a fellow worker. I have had him do several things from brakes to tune ups on two of my vehicles. Hard to find anyone that doesnt want to upsell you an air freshener with a tire rotation. This guy is really great they will always be there she has been my mechanic for the past 3 years and he has always an amazing job with my cars!!!
