I've used Clayton's for approximately 6 years and have never had any issues. He and his wife Amy are very personable, wholesome, trustworthy people. If your car doesn't need something, they don't replace it just to get the money. Clayton is an amazing mechanic. Only down fall is he is so amazing that he may not always be able to get a vehicle fixed quickly,I'd rather wait and know it'll be done correctly.

Always a pleasure doing business at Clayton's. We have had the timing belt and rear axle seals replaced in our 2000 4 Runner and the clutch replaced in our 2008 Shelby GT500. Clayton has always been honest and does what needs to be done to get you back on the road ASAP. He even came in on Sat/Sun to finish up our GT500. I highly recommend his shop to everyone I know. His quotes are fair but his quality of work and customer service far surpasses what he charges. Thank you!

I rarely post anything but when i do it is usually negative but not this time. Good work and friendly service should be rewarded and this is one of those times. Clayton is an ASE certified mechanic, not a wrench turner like many. I have never had to take any of my vehicles back to him for rework and that says a lot. Great work and price per hour, reasonable compared to dealerships. So for my money and great service with a smile goes a long way with me. If you need an mechanic in Salem va. do not hesitate and call Clayton's automotive and repair service, you will not disappointed. Thanks Clayton for all your work you have performed for me, alot of work.

I took my car here for the first time last week and I'm so glad I did. They were super nice and very professional; the secretary was especially helpful too. I got my lower control arms, brakes, and rotors replaced, an alignment and inspection all done by later afternoon for a great price. I've been to several other automotive shops around Roanoke and Salem but it just seems like there is always some kind of issue so I'm really glad I found this place and I'll definitely be going back. Though hopefully not any time too soon

I'm very happy with Clayton. He fit me in for a quick auto check on a used car. He went over the car very well, and I feel like they saved me money by pointing out possible problems.

Clayton is an amazing person. He is more than happy to help you out, and goes out of his way to help you. I am having to get my inspection done last minute (due to my 2 year old being sick the last week) and he told me to bring it on my lunch break and he would handle it while I waited.WHAT A RELIEF! He is wonderful, and I plan on going to him whenever I need assistance with my car.

Spoke to Clayton on the phone, described issue to him. He told me what the issue could be. Took the vehicle to his shop, and repair was made in a more than timely fashion, and the family had the vehicle back quickly. My family first found Clayton before he had his own bussiness. Weve been using his auto shop for as long as i can remember: first my mom, then progressively all of my sisters and I. I have to say, there is no better mechanic in salem. He is honest, fair, gets the job done right, and is time concious. I will always use Claytons!!

I am co owner of Clayton s Automotive, the rating from F Yopp is bogus. F Yopp is not a customer of Clayton s Automotive but is the brother of a competitors shop. Why would he come to Clayton s Automotive with his brother owning a shop. His rating has been reported.
