Took my truck to be diagnosed for a braking issue and was quoted 1178 for a full brake job, upon inspection myself once they diagnosed the issue I found out the only thing that needed to be replaced were the front rotors. Told me the drums were out of round and pads needed to be replaced, drums had nothing wrong with them and pad had more than half of their life left on them. Will not be taking any of my vehicles back here.

Place seems like they do pretty good work, they did resolve our engine issues. My rating comes from these items:- Bad communication. Had to reach out for updates and never received updates without calling, even if work was completed.- Had to bring the car back due to engine light still being on. Same deal, no calls to update on any findings.- Once we picked up the car the 2nd time, I noticed about a half mile from the shop our right front passenger tire was obliterated to the point I was riding on the rim. It Felt shaky leaving the lot but thought it was the engine still. Had to stop in the middle of Peter s Creek and luckily a crew from a fire engine was nearby to assist with the spare. Tires were in like new condition when given to the shop so not sure what happened there. It s almost as if someone slashed the tire, it was barely hanging on to the rim when the fire engine arrived.Overall solid engine work, but the customer experience was not there and we are tasked with buying a new tire which we didn t anticipate after dropping almost a thousand on the engine. They did provide a free oil change though for having to bring it back in which was nice.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I've had two vehicles in for repairs in the last two weeks. Both were repaired quickly and correctly. They are friendly and professional. Their prices are normal for the area and they do good work. This is, hands down, the best shop that I have ever worked with. They diagnosed my issues almost immediately, called me to discuss it, then gave me the very reasonable price. The owner and every employee there are very professional and courteous. I will never take my car to another shop.

Great people to deal with! Matt is one of the most knowledgeable and upfront mechanics in the business. Everyone there is a pleasure to deal with. It s a shame some people can t control themselves (or their friends for that matter) and want to post false reviews, especially when they ve never even been to the shop. Matt has always treated me well. He will tell you what you need or what you do not need. His prices are very reasonable. I have been a customer for close to 10 years if not longer. He has looked at cars I was looking at buying and given me an opinion on the condition of the car. Great service. We live out of town, had car issues. They had us fixed up and back on the road with an hour. Very friendly people. I would definitely recommend having your car serviced here.

We needed an oil pan gasket replaced and they did it but never suggested to replace the rear main seal so guess what it started leaking. So now take the new oil pan gasket off is one step to replacing the rear main pay for that step again.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Stay away from this place ,they over charged and repaired the wrong tire after I told the receptionist and mechanic which tire to repair and then refused to fix the correct tire that was leaking air. they do not give you or your credit card co a detail billing so you can't dispute the credit card charge. Poor service and people

This is a great place to have automotive repairs performed. Very friendly and helpful people with the customers best interest in mind. I would not hesitate to have my vehicle repaired at Automotive Specialist because of the fair treatment and equally fair cost.Highly recommend.

I have been going here for over 2 years now and have gotten nothing but professionalism service!! They always fit me in last minute when I need it and are the most down to earth people. Love the the honesty and knowledge that has been given to me. Would recommend to anybody!!

They had my daughter-in-law's van for TWO MONTHS and never gave us a diagnosis. Every time I called I got told "He's not here and I have no way to contact him call back later" I repeatedly called and even went by to hear "He's at lunch from 12 to 1" and when I pointed out it was 11am I was told "That's what I said, He's at lunch from 11 to 1". There are other mechanics in the bay working on vehicles but NO ONE could tell us what was wrong with the van or even what they did to attempt to diagnose it. I had it towed to another shop after having to go off because they didn't want to release the van they never worked on because I MIGHT owe them money. What certified mechanic shop doesn't even know what work they did or if they are owed money? NEVER will I recommend this place

The female thst answer the phone us one of the most hateful unprofessional peopke in the roanoke Valley. If she doesn't like u she will do whatever she has to do to make sure you never go back. She can't move on from issues and definitely holds grudges. Please stay away
