Not recommended for State Inspection. My mother that's not auto-savvy and has had a few strokes took her vehicle to get inspected today. Technician states: "It appears there might be a leak with your power steering, but I'm not sure where it is exactly. Could be the pump itself or a seal. But we can go ahead and get it fixed for you to pass inspection."The car is from the 90's, reservoir topped off, and slight dampness around area of the power steering pump. Steering works just fine. Glad she said, "No thanks", and I spent the few minutes online researching; Always verify before you accept something, even this review.19VAC30-70-110. Steering and suspension.-10. Power steering is defective and affects adequate steering of the vehicle or power steering fluid in reservoir is below operating level, or if there is an obvious leak of power steering fluid. Do not reject for dampness.NOTE: If the vehicle is equipped with power steering, the engine must be running during testing.11. Power steering hoses have any cracks, crimps, or restrictions or are abraded, exposing inner fabric; tubing or connections leak or are crimped, restricted, cracked, or broken. Power steering tubing and hoses must be secured against chaffing, kinking, or other mechanical damage and be installed in a manner that prevents contact with the vehicle's exhaust system or any other source of high temperatures.

they were able to squeeze me in same day when my car broke down and i had no way to get home, told me exactly what was wrong with my car and didn't try to sell me anything extra. the work was completed by the end of the day and i haven't had any problems with the repair since. first shop i've been to since i moved here and i had a great experience. will definitely be coming here for my car repairs and services in the future

They are very helpful they listen to you when you tell them what is wrong with you if your vehicle and they gave a quote to fix my truck and it was cheaper then what they gave me and being on a fixed income it helps very friendly and wonderful guys there THANK YOU very much.. Am greatly appreciated and taking care of my matter I wish I could give you more stars.3/5/24 the same i had to get my brakes fixed but i couldn't bc i was short now i have to wait two weeks before i go back in to get them fixed that patz sucks but anyway awesome place and friendly staff

They was rude, tried over pricing me because I'm a female and most think we don't know mechanics....well wrong again we know more than you think so if you're thinking of taking your vehicle here, I'd definitely think shout taking it somewhere else.

I love this place. It will be my go to place from now on for my car service needs. Jimmy and Dave were very nice and very thorough with their business transactions and in explaining everything. Best mechanics and shop owners on the planet. Honest, fast, and reasonable. I can turn a wrench but I go there for anything I can't or don't want to do myself. You cannot change your own oil for less than these guys do it!

Absolutely great service when my car experienced a break down due to a failed a/c compressor far from my destination in an unfamiliar location. The car was towed there in the evening before closing and the techs got right on it the next morning, quickly diagnosing the issue and quoting me a price that was fair and reasonable. Jimmy at the front desk kept me posted all day and the repair plus an oil change was finished by 3:30. The final price plus towing was actually less than the initial quote, and they threw in a tire rotation as well. The care and compassion shown to me as an out-of-area traveler was a huge blessing, and I also was provided with recommendations for future things to keep an eye on. Thank you all for your outstanding work and honest attitude!!

I had an oil leak very under my Car the Company is very perfessionly he carry my Car up to look to see where theoil leak was and even showed me where it was they found where it was and going to fixed it but I can not Drive my Car until I have it done.I have an Appointment soon to get it fixed.Very nice place if anyone have a problem with there Car.I perfessionly can say that they are very fine people to work with.A friend of mine told me about the place I am so glad I took his advise and went to see for myself.

The guys who run this place have been in the auto maintenance and repair business for decades. They are honest, fair and great to deal with in an industry that isn t full of people like them. They stay busy so an appointment is a good idea if you can plan ahead.

They were recommended by a friend. When I called they tried to help me over the phone with my car. When I arrived they came out and diagnosed my issue for free while I was standing there. I needed a new starter. The next day they did the repair. It has been a week and my car starts great. Repair comes with 2 years warranty :-) Waiting area was clean and they all were very friendly. Will recommend them to others and go there again.

This place is super great! I had taken my vehicle to the dealership for a few problems and they were not very prompt or courteous.They couldn't get the work done the same day and they had to order a part that took a week to come in. Then they said they couldn't install the part for a couple more weeks. I found Apperson Automotive online and called to ask if they could do it. They were professional, courteous, and got my vehicle taken care of promptly. And the price was much less than the dealership. I'm so glad I found them and will definitely use them again. I highly recommend them. I'm done with the dealership forever.

Very unprofessional, fraud, fraudulent practices. Said my engine was blown. And my engine still runs. Said I needed a new engine and offered 3 different types of warranty. On a engine they couldn't find. Lied about everything. My first and last experience with this organization.

I highly recommend this shop! I went to the same auto shop for about ten years on the other side of Virginia, but when I moved to Roanoke I needed to find a new place to take my car. I felt listened to and respected at Apperson's. Many auto repair shops talk down to female customers. I understand my car and would like to be treated as such. This shop did a great job and in a timely manner. They have a comfortable waiting area which I used while they worked on my car. I will definitely take my car here again.

These guys are excellent. I get off late afternoons near closing usually, and they still always accommodate me when I have need to have my vehicle serviced. Owner and staff are super friendly, with superb communication.

Mitchell Sylvester and the boys will take great care of you at this location. They always are very helpful and knowledgeable and trying to take care of my vehicles. They have always looked out for me anytime I've ever brought my car to them

Took my truck in for inspection and just like someone else here said, they rejected it and said my tie rod was going bad. When I said I'll go home and fix it and I'll be back, they kept pressing me about how I'm going to messs up my alignment and steering. I'll ruin my tires with it. They wanted me to pay them to do it. But I work on cars for a hobby so I said no. Bought the part and went to put it on and remembered that it was done 2 years ago. But they can go bad so ok. But they were solid. Almost in new condition. Had zero wear on the boot. Had no play in the knuckle. Took it back and what they said was wrong and what was moving was actually a part that has some play. I would avoid this place at all costs.

This establishment was not following CDC guidelines! No employee was wearing a mask, nor customer other than myself. I also heard the employees making racial comments about the community. I will never go here again. I needed an inspection sticker and was a new customer. Not a good first impression on someone new to the city or their business.

I wish there was an option to give zero stars. I was told on a Thursday to bring my truck in on the fallowing Monday. They proceeded to keep my truck till the next Wednesday and not do anything to it without calling to tell me that was the case. I finally called to get a progress report on the work being done and their response was "we don't want to do the work". I had given them a fairly detailed description of the issues with the truck and they said that they would be able to do it on the Thursday i had called as well as the Monday I actually dropped the truck off. When i went in to ask why there was no work done on the truck and why they just decided they didn't want to do it, they told me that my truck was in too bad of shape and they just didn't want to bother with it. Mind you this is a 95 f350 dually with over $20,000.00 in recent upgrades. Avoid doing business with these people at all cost, your time is valuable and they do not seem to care.

Gave false information on my inspection to reject it. Give it to them 2 months later to fix and reinspect (Did not drive vehicle for the two months). Tells me what they said was wrong the first time isn't what is wrong but now a ball joint is bad. Tell them to fix it and they get the wrong part stuck and have to order correct part. Don't work on Saturday so now I have to wait til Monday to get my vehicle. Very unprofessional! Needs to be reported for false information on an inspection! Do not go here for air in your tires, they will end up charging you for a new engine!
