I own a winery in the Charlottesville area and blew a tire on our forklift right here at the start of grape harvest. Our forklift is critical. Shelby at University was fantastic. He found two tires that would work and got them to me the next morning! He knew it was urgent. Will from University showed up with the tires and fixed the forklift that morning. He was equally fantastic! They saved us from impacting our harvest. My thanks to Shelby and Will! I would recommend them to anyone!ThanksJay

Onnie was incredibly helpful and resourceful over the phone. He was willing to research the issue I was having even without the guarantee of the job. I will definitely use Ruckersville University Tire and Auto the next time I need a service done!

Highway robbery! They said one thing and then come back and say a complete different thing. Paid $1,100 for a glorified oil change and not fixing my misfire.

Prior to heading out on a 6 hr car trip, I was concerned my oil level was low. Without an appointment, Cody was willing to go outside and check my levels, and replace the oil right on the spot with no appointment and NO WAIT. He did it with a smile. These guys are absolute crooks! You will bring your car in for something seemingly simple as a state inspection and they will sell you a laundry list of over $1000 of extra stuff that you don t need. My car does not need new spark plugs, I just personally changed them not one year ago. My car does not need a fuel induction service. I took care of that as well. They will lie to you and tell you that you need four new tires when you don t need four new tires yet, you just need the one tire patched. They will tell you that it will be done for you the next day, but you won t get your car back for five days because they cannot manage doing more than seven state inspections in one day. Then, they will say that they tried to call you and leave voicemails and lied that your voicemail box was full. I have never had a good experience with University tire and auto in Ruckersville. I will never ever ever go there again. You shouldn t go there either.

If it were possible to give zero stars, I would have jumped on it. There is no reason in the world that a shop filled with grown men should appear and perform as incompetently as this shop. First mistake is to believe that dropping it off the night prior will put you first in line the following day. Silly goose that I am, I fell for this one. Second mistake is to believe it will be finished that day - even though I was reassured it would be. Third mistake was to believe it would be done the second day....or even the third day. I was finally told that it would definitely be done by 10am the third day. At 10am I called to be told the repair person had just arrived. It would be another hour and half - "the book" allotted 1.5 hrs of time. Again, silly me. Here I stand in the lobby at 12:20pm waiting. Tired of waiting I walked around to the side bay to see my car being put on the lift to begin repairs. I am a traveling nurse. I needed this vehicle to be finished when I was assured it would be finished. I will never bring another vehicle here. I will make sure no one in my family or extended family ever comes here for repairs. The level of customer service is dismal. The time I lost after days of waiting irreplaceable. The experience was a combination of disappointment and extreme frustration.It is now 1pm and I have been told it will be at least another 1/2 hour to 40 minutes before the vehicle will be completed. Brought my car in for an oil change and inspection. They found an issue which wasn't a surprise it's an older car and it was driving pretty rough. After the repair it's driving like a new car again. Dropped vehicle off for oil change and state inspection. Oil was changed but nothing was done regarding the state inspection. Tires were not rotated although that is listed as part of an oil change.

Make an appointment, drop the car off the night before, discuss with them that you need your car back by noon. Call the next day at noon and have them tell you it will be done in 30 minutes, get a ride to the shop at 3:45 only to find out they are just starting on the oil change and tire rotation. I asked the guy up front why did did I make an appointment if it was going to be 6-8 hours late? He responded with "we work on them in the order we get to them, appointment or bot". Noticed they put 5 miles on my vehicle and got a response from the manager that they test drive the car to see what is wrong with it, I can tell you whats wrong "the oil is dirty and needs to be changed, hints me dropping it off to have the oil changed". Very disappointed as I have had almost yhis same experience with them on 3 occasions. 1 repair, 1 oil change, 1 new tire purchase.

I made an appointment one week in advance to buy tires and get my alignment sorted. I showed up the morning of my appointment on time to purchase my $900 worth of tires and was told they had a lot of walk-ins that morning- my appointment was set for 8 AM and they open at 7 AM. Despite having an appointment, and asking when they could get to my car- I waited for well over an hour for them to even go near my car to move it to a mechanic bay. I asked about the delay once, and told them that due to the long delay I was going to have to reschedule a long distance drive that was planned that morning and I was told they d get to me just a minute . If you value your customers, who are paying you good money, I would suggest this business figure out a way to honor their appointments and not keep people waiting who were not walk in appointments. My husband loved this place. I don t like it, and we ll be taking our cars elsewhere for tire service. We can t support a local business that doesn t value their customers time.

If you want a place that will steal from you and lie to you then this is the place to go. went and got just a simple oil change then left and ended up my car started making a noise came back they said it was something entirely different and charged me $600 for breaks and rotors on the front two tires. Later my car starts making the same noise again and I take it to my dealership where I bought the car from originally and comes to turn out that noise was not from my brakes and rotors but was from the skid plate that the garage forgot to screw back in properly after the oil change. So I was lied to and swindled out of $600 for something my car didn't even need.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Great customer service. But had an obvious huge birds/Mouse nest they never bothered to at least tell me about. No way they could have missed it. Should have At least made a note on paperwork!

Believe all the other bad reviews about University Tire and stay away. This situation could have gotten very ugly. RUDE tech.I was heading south on 29 and had brake problems so I stopped at UT. I had an appointment at a job site and I let UT know that. I was told it would be 1 minute, then 30 minutes. After an hour they finally took my truck in to a bay. After a while the very rude tech told me he could patch the brake line. I told him I wanted a new brake line and was told that the only person that could order the line was driving a customer home and I would have to wait until he got back. This was surprising and I did not have time to wait. I wanted to get my truck so I could take it to a garage where I could actually get the truck fixed and was waiting for him to back it out of the bay. I was, literally, dumbfounded as to how I was being treated. Then the tech said are you just going to stand there like a d*ckhead? I took my truck and got it fixed elsewhere. The was an ugly situation that could have gotten a lot worse.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have mixed feelings about UVA tire and auto center. I took my vehicle to them to get new tires and an A/C recharge and evacuation. They had the best tire price and they were about the same on the A/C price. I'm very satisfied with the tires and their mounting thereof. With the A/C however, the had noted a leak in the metal tubing that carries the freon to the condenser. So being that I needed A/C we went through with them replacing the part. Well, long story short the part was replaced, worked fine for 1 day, then my A/C was back hot. Took it back to them and they said that there was a leak in the condenser. I was told they could not have found that until they had replaced the previous part since the dye could not have been carried to the condenser. I was very concerned that I was being coned and took my vehicle to a friend who owns his own repair company in Orange, VA and was told that their diagnoses was accurate and they were right about the dye issue. Being that again UVA tire and auto had the best price for the repair on the new condenser, I had let them know 4 days in advance to order the part and that I would be by that following Saturday to get the part replaced. I showed up Saturday to have no part on site, was told that it was on back order and that they would need to order it from another supplier, and that I would have to come back on Monday. Thankfully Monday they had the part and my vehicle is now working as it should be. When I spoke with the manager regarding the issues with me having to wait on the part when I had given them ample notice to order it and I was not contacted regarding the issues he gave a generous deduction on my bill. This issue is the only reason that I gave 4 stars. I think that they had great customer service and Cody was very helpful in my store experience. Despite having some issues I'm satisfied with my experience with them.

Dropped my car off at 8:15am for an inspection and what I thought would be front and rear brakes and rotars. Got a call a couple hours later, I only needed front and the parts were in stock for a 2011 BMW. Had my car wrapped up quickly and efficiently. Only spoke with Cody, and he was polite and very welcoming into the shop. No issues and great service all around. I will be back.

I ve taken my vehicle here a few times, but what really frustrates me is having to drop my vehicle off for a simple diagnosis and calling every day only to find out they haven t had time to check it yet. It s been two full days with my car just sitting there. I went through the same process when my car was being inspected 2 months ago. Save yourself the time and take your vehicle elsewhere. They clearly aren t fully staffed for the workload and that is the excuse they give me every time. There is only 1 or 2 technicians that can diagnosis a service airbag light? I had the crew working on 12/14/18 help me with a set of new BFG K02 AT tires for my 1993 wrangler. They were friendly, patient and took me through the available options and were even able to price match a little to meet a competitors rebate. They were a little busy but still only took an hour once a bay opened up. All around as good of a tire buying experience as I could have hoped for!

I appreciate honesty I received from Todd when I brought my vehicle in with concerns about the brakes. After assessing the vehicle, he assured me that no work was needed at this time. I imagine others could have sold me the whole brake package anyway, but honesty goes a long way to gain my trust and business.At other times, the place has been super busy and unable to see my vehicle, but I take that at least in part as a testament to the good business they do.

Was told I needed a flex pipe and Inner tie rod before car would pass safety inspection. I requested an oil change and wheel alignment as well. I made an appointment and dropped off vehicle at 07:30, at 3:00 I dropped by to check status. Tyler said he was able to save me $200.00 on the muffler work and that car would be ready in a couple of hours. At 3:45 Cody called to ask if they could keep the car overnight, I asked what the problem was? Cody stated everything was done but the safety Inspection, said 2 of the 3 state inspectors called off sick. I said I'd pick up the car and bring it back later for the inspection. When I arrived the car had not had an oil change nor wheel alignment, I was told I needed a new muffler and that the car failed the safety inspection. I asked to pay for services performed, Cody tried to charge for the oil change, wheel alignment, for an outer tie rod and 2 hours labor in addition to the actual work performed. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to get a rejection sticker put on the car. While waiting my daughter in-law said to me "something sounds fishy", at that point Tyler (who overheard her) started screaming at my daughter in-law that she needed to be understanding because two guys called off sick. He ended up saying "we don't need your business". Tyler did not understand that the under estimate of the extent of exhaust work needed, overcharging for work not performed and miscommunication of the vehicles statue had nothing to do with the guys out sick. We took the car to J&P automotive and repairs where made at half the estimate University Tire have given me, additionally they needed to repair pin holes in flex pipe welds done by University Tire. I will not be bring any of my Vehicles back in the future. This place has went down hill. Been bring my vehicles to University Tire since 2009.

Not good at all. Called this morning and asked if they could look at my vehicle it had a screw in the tire wanted to see if it could be patched. Dropped it off, got a call later in the afternoon saying my vehicle was ready. Arrived there and noticed it had 4 brand new tires on it. Went in and ask why it had new tires on it and the gentleman behind the counter said my employee authorized the tires to be installed when he dropped it off. NOT!!!! Never received a call asking for authorization to replace the tires. LOL, they offered to take off mounting and balancing as gesture for not calling me to authorize a 900.00 purchase. So they call the area manager and he's said that's the best he can do for them not doing their job or they could take off the tires and put my old tires back on, great customer retention practice!!. The one gentleman took me out and showed me the tires and the couldn't be patched because the nail was pretty much in the tread. That's fine I understand that. He also pointed out the tires had additional ware. So obviously were not going to put the old tires back on. So we went back in and I started to pay for the tires anyways. I asked why didn't they do an alignment because of the ware, LOL he said they did align and I said who authorized the the alignment, so another unauthorized charge, no print out for the alignment how convenient. He drops his head and takes that charge off also. Im a local business owner in the same community. I hate to right this, but it's nessary. This is not the first time that something to my vehicle has been done without authorization or been installed that wasn't needed. It whats really sad is they blamed it on my employee that he gave them the authorization to do so and called it a small miscommunication that somehow make it part of my fault. So beware and make sure authorization so there is no miscommunication.

Todd and all the staff there are knowledgeable and easy to work with.I recently blew out my tire because the valve was rusting.They immediately helped my husband and me by replacing 4 of the valves andgave a us a great price on two new tires.We always feel well taken care of.Thanks everyone!

To pass inspection said I needed hub bearing. No problem going in and noise on opposite side of car once I left. I told them several times of noise but no one ever drove it and kept saying no problem. Then said other hub needed to be done. No problems going in and multiple problems coming out. Stay away even for the inspection. Question if they have any competent mechanics.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes

I will not be doing anymore business here. I took my car there for my inspection. I was told it failed because there was rust on the router's and they all needed to be replaced along with the pads to a tune of about $867.00 which included labor. I told them that it wasn't driven very much. My Daughter called them to ask why then they told her they needed to be lubed. Lubed the brakes never heard of such a thing. I will drive it more to get the rust off. I feel because I'm a Senior Citizen I was very unfairly taken advantage of.

Walked in for a couple new low profile tires to be mounted and balanced; they did it quickly and for less than expected. The guys working at the shop were real friendly and polite. It was everything I look for in a tire shop; I live nearby and wouldn't think twice about using them again. Great experience.

They did great work in a hurry! Needed front brakes ASAP and they took care of me without an appointment and got my inspection done on the last day of the month with no trouble! Staff and Manager were terrific people who made me feel like a valued customer even though it was my first time there. I will absolutely go back for any other service I need!

I ve had a variety of disappointing experiences at this University Tire location, ranging from paying them to diagnose bad steering play and having them tell me I just needed new tires, when it was in fact a failing tie -rod end (later found by a real shop), and ridiculously long waits for simple tire change service. It definitely a high volume busy business, which is combined with a poorly managed staff who can be seen standing out the back having cigarette breaks..Today I tired of waiting (after 2 1/2 hours) for tire installation and just bought the tires and took them to another shop down the road and had the tires mounted almost immediately..Service: Tires
