This company help to get my semi from the ditch on the side of the road and they did it very good job !!!!! They didn't drag they feet to make more money but charged me less then they quoted me over the phone. Combination tractor trailer was loaded total 78.000 lb. Person named Charles helped us. I definitely recommend this company ! I wish all towing company's to be good and professional and honest like Akers Towing !!!Thank you so much Mr Charles !!!! Great job !!!!I DO RECOMEND THIS COMPANY

Jr was super helpful and came to get us very quickly off of this little 2 lane road when the turbo went out on our bands equipment truck and helped us find a guy to work on it. Him and his family went above and beyond what the typical wrecker company would have done. We had to get one of our guys to a rental truck 100 miles away and he even helped make that happen. Jr, thanks for all your help and your family's help as well

Seemed like a nice guy aside from saying I "better bring 50 or 75 dollars" for the lot fee, which is understandable. Just poor customer service. Was accused of playing games after I told him I was waiting for the insurance company to cut him a check. $375 for a 5 mile tow, seemed like price gouging to me. I worked roadside assistance a couple years ago. 5 mile tow hardly ever went above $125. Just letting you know this guy will take what he can get. Vehicle wasn't damaged in the tow, so I guess that is something to be grateful for.

Mr. Manko found himself stranded in a traffic backup on I 77 in Bland County, VA late on a Friday afternoon. This traffic backup has involved thousands of cars and tractor trailers since the beginning of May due to paving on the West Virginia side of East River Tunnel. I answered the phone Akers Towing, and this person said he was stranded with a blow radiator in all the traffic, he needed his car towed NOW, his radiator fixed NOW, he was Mr. Robert Manko and he needed to get back to Columbus Ohio today! I informed Mr. Manko I was on another call as we were extremely busy with all the traffic, but i could get to him in as soon as I could and maybe take him to a motel in Bluefield or Wytheville where he might make some calls for repair or get an appointment for repairs on Monday. I explained we tow, we are not a auto repair shop with no access to auto parts. He demanded very rudely that he needed it fixed today. I tried to explain to him that this was Bland County, a rural community, and there were very few places open on the weekend for car repairs or parts in the surrounding area. He was rude and "condesending" and did not ask to be taken to a motel only demanded it be fixed immediately. You cant be very empathetic when the person you are trying to explain a situation to is not listening and making demands you cannot accommodate. We accommodated a lot of nice, courteous travelers that day with no issues at all. Yes, I did use that senario because Mr. Manko kept demanding something that was not going to happen at his say so. If there are any other questions, I have names and emails of two other Towing companies in Bluefield and Wytheville, when speaking with them over the weekend that mentioned Mr. Manko, and his Attitude and they did not Tow for him either!

Had to be towed less than 30 miles. I broke down around 3 miles from the tow service. I even pitched in on getting it prepared to tow. $875 !! I'll call around next time, lesson learned. Just figured I'd give you a heads up on his rates.

If I could give zero stars, then I would. It actually was painful to give a one star review here. My family of 4 was stranded in Virginia on our way back from Orlando, FL, with a blown radiator. I called, trying to find a tow truck, knowing that I was asking a lot, but didn't expect to receive the kind of response that he gave. The individual who answered the phone asked what I needed, so, with my lack of words to describe the situation, I said "well, I'm stranded in bumper to bumper traffic with a blown radiator and need to try to get my family of 4 and car to a hotel near a shop to try to get my car repaired and get us back home or at least to a hotel". His response, rather than offering something constructive with some empathy, was to laugh at me and say "well, people in hell want ice water..." I would certainly recommend no one EVER offer this individual any business, as he strikes me as a poor example of a human being.

My son had an accident on his way to work at Bland County Correctional Center. Akers Wrecker Service towed his vehicle. Charles Akers, the owner, stated that he would not accept the Emergency Roadside Assistance provided by State Farm. He demanded $350 for the tow fee and clean of the accident scene, and also said "This is the way it is in VIRGINIA ". (My son picked up the metal from the accident) Mr Akers didn't do anything, but treat us rudely and use horrible profanity during our business with him. BE ADVISED: AVOID IF POSSIBLE!!!I WOULD ALSO GIVE 0 STARS.

Charged $200 to tow 1.7 miles! Highway robbery!!! I will NEVER use their services again. Very dissatisfied!
