Second time going to Wimmer Tire. Was originally recommended by one of my colleagues. They have excellent customer service! My first visit with them we loved their service. Yesterday, I took my new truck to have All Terrain tires put on. The truck is brand new with barely any miles and flawless. When I got home, there was a gash in the rim that is clearly from prying the tire off. Sad that they didn't speak up and say anything and hope I wouldn't see it. They've lost my trust.

Called about tires. He was not able to help and when asked if he could recommend somewhere else and His words were and I quote " I live in my own little world, you will have to call around and ask". I understand not wanting to give someone else business but you can't help me so why not help me by sending me somewhere instead of leaving me and my wife and kids stranded. Will never shop here!!!!

Had a blow out on 81 heading home and limped into Wimmer's on my donut tire. Fantastic experience. Told them my story....they didn't have my tire and the owner drove to Salem to pick it up from another shop. Honest, straightforward and kind. Had an awesome experience. Sometimes bad experiences can turn into a nice memory. Thank you.

I took my BMW in to get inspected, not sure if it was the owner or not but he gave me a ride home and picked me up when my car was ready. That is why I went back for tires. Great Customer Service!I m updating my review today 6/1/23. I should have known not to take my car there after I took my bmw in for one bulb change and they tried to charge me more than BMW and another shop, so the owner knocked the price down. Well I just got a Cadillac and had a flat tire and thought I ll try them again but for one tire it was higher than anywhere I checked around afterwards. I found the exact same tire $130 cheaper. So no I m not happy with them anymore.

I suggest you request a written quote when dealing with Wimmer's on more extensive service needs. I seldom leave reviews but felt my experience might help others. I was verbally quoted "$500" to replace a set of front brakes on our performance SUV. We were verbally quoted that rate on three separate occasions (7/22/22, 10/6, 10/10). We dropped off the vehicle on October 10th, the brakes were installed, and were met with the call conveying "it's ready". Upon asking how much the final amount was, it was then conveyed as costing $1500. This amount was 3x the initial quote and conveyed nonchalantly, like this was okay and the norm. No call was made in real-time to ensure we were okay with that 3x increase and they just proceeded with the job. I'm giving two stars vs. one here, as they made it right by re-installing the old parts so that I could take it to our other local garage where they happily completed the job for under $800 the next day. Through this experience, they lost a customer who valued their convenient location and had prior positive experiences.

It is extremely rare that I take the time to do a review. I have been doing business with Wimmer since 1986. Over this time period I have consistently received good service and product at a fair price. When I have needed special service (such as when I discovered that I needed a brake job on a Saturday morning before leaving on a long trip), they accommodated me and got the job done and allowed me to hit the road within 2 hours. The only reason that I have been a customer for over 35 years is that I have been valued as a customer and they have earned my trust. If you go somewhere cheaper you will save pennies, but it will cost you dollars.

Big fan of this place. The staff I interacted with was friendly and honest, and the building was very clean. Overall a well run business. I had a nail in a tire, so I took it to a local tire franchise that's walking distance from my work. They said it couldn't be patched and the only solution was a new tire. Seemed patchable to me (hole was not on the side of the tire), so I took it to Wimmer and they were able to repair it. Wish I could remember the guy's name at the front desk - he was great. I'll definitely be going back.

I can't recommend them enough. Incredibly honest and reliable. A few times I thought I may need some things done but they told me I didn't. (Example- someone told me I had a rear lightbulb out- they found that I didn't) Once I had to replace my catalytic converter and it took a couple of days, I was sure the bill would be huge, but they charged me book. It is so nice when you can trust a place.

Just moved to Roanoke. Car transporter said one of my tires went flat. Stopped in to set tire repair appointment but they took me right in, no waiting. Did repair at very reasonable price. Came back for state inspection and had them install front license plate bracket. Friendly and straight forward. Asked about any additional needed service and was told nothing else was needed, no attempt to sell more. Will be my new repair shop!

Nice people but they don't know anything past a tire and oil change. They ruined my BMW 328i, got it back from a tire repair + alignment, and the handling is completely ruined. Can't even go above 60 on a highway without the car wobbling all over the lane or loosing traction. They refused to believe anything was wrong with it after I brought it back the next day and then wanted to argue with me about it... now I get to pay for repairs twice in a row. Would not recommend for anything other than an oil change.

brought set of tires in july 2019 with tread warranty of 65000 miles. 3 yrs later tread wear is below acceptable and inspection actually millage was 29 892 miles on good rich ta radials. filed a tread warranty claim thur good rich and was given a 50 % discount toward new set of tires. talked to owner mark hall and he looked around to try and find some tires for me. while i appreciated his time looking it seemed like he really was interested in helping me much. i have been buying tires since before the big flood in 1985 when they were on jefferson st. he said i should try another tire store, which i did however i was not inpressed with the way he handled this. a long time customer such as myself should have gotten better service than i did . i will; not shop or buy or recommend wimmer tire to any one. i feel long time repeat customers should get better treatment

Been to this location 5 times after Salem closed for tires rotations and state inspections. Mark and David are great and so is their service. I got a great deal on my tires and every time I leave David is always sure to tell me how much they appreciate my business. I appreciate Wimmer tire as well

It's always a little nervewracking (I feel like even more so when you do most of your car work yourself) finding a new shop to trust your vehicle to when you move, and I've been in that boat since moving to Roanoke from Blacksburg. With the gas prices, I knew this time around for state inspection I couldn't justify the trip just for an inspection. So, I read through reviews and chose Wimmer Tire.I am really happy with their sevice and friendliness, I enjoyed the conversation with the gentleman currently working the desk while I waiting for the inspection to be done. I learned some new fun things to look for in Roanoke and I felt that same at home feel I had with the shop I used to go to for years, even though this was my first service with them.Thank you Wimmer Tire!

Took my car in for a scheduled oil change at 8:30 am. While Setting there, the owner comes in starts yelling at me about I m going to have to leave the car. I told him that I had scheduled it first thing in morning to get it done without leaving it and that the service manager said it wouldnt be a problem if I broughtIt in first thing . I got upFirst thing in the morning and drove 45 minutes there to get yelled at by a guy who doesn t know what customer service is. Look at the other reviews on here and yelp with people complain about this guys attitude. I told him he wasn t going to yell at me and left and won t be back.

These guys took my car in and gave it a quick turn around for a really good price. I was using my bike to commute and then got a busted tires on my bike, and they stayed late until I was able to fix my bike and come pick my car up! Very kind and helpful folks. Quick service at good prices. Highly recommend!

Super friendly, professional, and well priced service. This company works hard to take good care of your vehicle and their relationship with you as a customer. They're honest and very helpful. I highly recommend!

I've been taking my vehicles to Wimmer for nearly 15 years. Mark and the folks at Wimmer are the most honest and hard-working folks that I've ever come across in the auto repair industry. They are just wonderfully generous and decent and they really know what they are doing when it comes to fixing vehicles.

No good deed remains unpunished. Staff is polite, courteous, and does what they should do/what is best for the car. A fellow customer came in during my visit and it was very obvious to be upset about something. Come to find out he was angry about the type of oil that was used for his vehicle. However, the staff had put the oil that both the car manual and the oil cap said to use. They did the right thing and used the right product for the best concern to the vehicle and operator thereof, yet still had to deal with an upset customer anyways. They dealt with the customer in a well and respectful manner. Im sorry the staff had to deal with that, but again they handled the situation very well. They have been working on my vehicle for a couple years now and have always done a great job! Thank you!

BEWARE! SENT HOME WITH A VEHICLE THAT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.After having had several vehicles inspected at Wimmer, I took a vehicle that was making a very noticeable front end noise in to have the issue diagnosed. They drove it briefly, and claimed they were not able to hear the noise I described. However, they advised that a left front tie rod end needed to be replaced and I authorized the repair, with an alignment afterwards. Immediately after leaving Wimmer I could tell that it was still making the exact same noise. I drove it only a few miles because it sounded really bad. I also noticed that the steering seemed very loose.I then asked a family member to help me figure out what the problem was. After a short drive he diagnosed a worn out CV joint in the drive shaft. He took it home to his shop and reported that the steering was all over the road and UNSAFE TO DRIVE! After putting it on his lift, he found that the passenger front lower control arm bushings were completely worn out (see photo), as well as the drive shaft CV joint. Both of these problems should have been readily apparent to the technicians at Wimmer. To make a long story short, they put me back on the road with a car that was not fit to drive, thereby endangering my family and myself, as well as the motoring public.I will not be returning to Wimmer for any reason, and I would definitely not recommend them. However, that being said, they are courteous and easy to work with, but based on this experience I don't trust their work. It's very unfortunate, because I was hoping to bring the majority of my car repair work to their shop. I guess I'll just have to keep looking.

Wow, I was really expecting pure evil reviews. Maybe I just had two bad experiences with them. Here is the story and it is the truth! First off, I am an ASE L 1 certified tech with 15 years in the field. I dont wear the shirt anymore and ain't here to throw up credentials; I'm making a point that I know about the automotive world.I orginally met them a few weeks ago when I hired them for an alignment after an Inner and otter tierod job. While it was there I asked for them to inspect it also. Bare in mind I had already checked this truck from top to bottom and knew its condition in advance. To my surprise the alignment was a little off on the on the steering wheel while drivng straight but felt good driving so I'll adjust that later . not happy but oh well. My next complaint is the big one and a community concern.First inspection attempt they claimed reverse lights were out but they would be happy to fix for a fee. I declined without letting them know my profession. An inspection the next day revealed a missing fuse. Not blown! But missing! Very strange.Okay....a few weeks later I'm over it and decide to go back thinking since they rejected for reverse lights I could have them verify the repair and get it stuck and be gone. NOTTA FOLKS!This time around they asked me to wait outside instead of watching and out of sight to me I did notice an extended period of time at the driver front and low and behold the signal light was out. But they would be glad to fix. That's when I informed them that the lights were bran new, good quality Sylvania bulbs with after market lenses. At that point, I knew they were attempting a " wallet flush" which is pretty much getting easy repair cash for nothing or something they did. Folks I've seen this all my life and it's bad in the quicky lub places and dealerships. Be careful guys!I chose them because the name wimmer suggests family or individual owned and most of the time when you see a family name you get the quality of family pride work. Not this place I swear it!While I was there I watched them do the same headlight bulb attemt to a couple of women. I kept my mouth shut.Take your vehicle to Woods service in Vinton. They are good and decent. Not the cheapest but they are competent and to my knowledge pretty honest. That shop across from the new gunshop where that bar on orange Ave below the car wash. They are good guys also.Stay out of Wimmer folks I'm glad it was just a bulb instead of a cut wire that would create a nightmare.Hope this helps

Had a good experience with Wimmer Tire. My 07 HHR started running rough and a computer check showed a bad cylinder. These guys said I just needed a good tune up and cleaning. The price was quite fair and I've got pep back in my car!

Trusted service. If you need an auto repair shop that will give you honest service, I highly recommend Wimmer Tire. I've taken my truck there several times and they have always been very good about explaining what's needed and more importantly what isn't needed. I've recommended this service center to friends who have had the same experience.

Do a good job, reasonably priced, and trustworthy. One time the local Toyota shop wanted us to replace a set of tires whereas Wimmer were able to patch the flat tire instead and saved us a lot of $$.

On a road trip from NJ. My wheel started to make noise. I stopped by Hamren's first, and a nice man there brought me to Wimmer. They tightened up the lug nuts at no cost. They fixed me up in 10 minutes and I was on my way. Thank you Wimmer!

Wimmer Tire and Service is an excellent place to take your car for anything and everything to do with your car. Have been dealing with them for 20+ years. I am getting a new set of tires! Great people to deal with.

Dave was completely unprofessional and rude. The work done to our car, was under warranty; he refused to honor the warranty. We will never, give our business to this company!!! Beware
