Mr. Gibson was at my rescue in a blink of an eye. My world, my life, my families income is my dump truck. When one tire went over the edge of a hill and it just escalated from there Robert Young s towing set me back on level ground. I rented a piece of heavy landscaping equipment that became bogged down along the creek bed that runs behind my property. I unfortunately selected Robert Young towing to call for service. After describing my situation IN DETAIL, as requested by the dispatcher, I was told they could take care of the situation for $250. The driver who was dispatched arrived driving an industrial-sized vehicle that could be used to salvage an overturned train. He quickly concluded that his vehicle was too heavy to enter the soft soil in my back yard/along the creek (duh!) and stated he would go get a smaller tow truck, but it will cost more . As it was Saturday afternoon and my rental was due back in a couple hours, I really didn t have much of a choice and this man knew that. After returning with a standard tow-truck, the job was completed without further issue or difficulty. It was at that time that I was told my charge would be $450, which seemed to be a somewhat arbitrary number this guy came up with after mulling it around in his head for a few seconds. I paid the bill, again I really had no choice at the time. I contacted Robert Young first thing Monday morning about the situation, and in the spirit of good will was refunded $100. I still did not find that satisfactory, as I was told the service would be $250 and it was not my fault or responsibility that the man arrived in a vehicle he should have already known would be too big for the job as described over the phone. I then contacted a State of Virginia-level agency with oversight over towing companies. They noted a long history of problems with Robert Young towing, and encouraged me to file a formal complaint with their office. That must have hit a delicate nerve, as the next thing I heard from Robert Young towing was a letter from their lawyer, attacking me for filing the complaint. Obviously, at that point, I wasn t going to pursue further complaints, as hiring a lawyer to fight with their lawyer would cost me WELL over the $100 over-charge I felt they still owed me in reimbursement. However, I certainly would HIGHLY discourage anyone from voluntarily dealing with this crooked organization, unless you like surly service, being lied to, being held financially responsible for the decisions THEY make, and then being threatened with a lawyer when you register complaints!

Had one of my service trucks blow a transmission line out back in December. Brian was fast to come out and load up the broke down unit and got it to the repair facility quick enough it was back in service the same day!!!! It's great having a local company with large enough equipment to safely transport heavy work trucks!

My 17 year old daughter was involved in a car accident on 81, four hours away from home, not a call any parent wants to get. Vick responded to the call quickly, was professional and showed compassion to a scared teen driver. Office staff & Vick were willing to work with us to pick her vehicle up on the weekend. Not a service anyone wants to use, but if needed I highly recommend Robert Young s Towing! Great customer service!

My boyfriend and I are both nineteen and did not expect to get scared on one Sunday afternoon. We were driving down the road and something in the car blew up and we ran into the ditch. With this being said, I was terrified. Charlie towed the car and made sure we were okay, drove us home, and told us that he hoped our car was okay. It only took him a few minutes to get to us, and he made sure to take good care of us. I m very young and I was scared out of my mind, but Charlie made me feel better. He was so polite, positive, friendly, and caring. Charlie was the exact person I needed to see in that moment when it was just us on the side of the road. Charlie was also very gentle with the car and made sure to get it on the tow truck safely, and he did not rush the process at all. Not only did we get home safely, but the car did as well.Service: Car towing

Great experience, I was stranded In Buchanan around 11:30 at night, they were able to come and tow me all the way back to floyd when AAA couldn't get anyone out to me that night. Beth the dispatcher and Charlie the driver were both very polite and happy despite the late hours of the night. Highly recommend

Robert young s towing is the premier towing company for the interstate 81 corridor. From Christiansburg to raphine Va. They tow equipment for me on the regular. Professional, polite staff and well trained. They have the equipment to handle any job no matter the size; from airplanes, to lawn tractors and anything in between.

I used to work for Rke concrete supply for many years so you know how long ago that has beenRobert has gotten more than one of our trucks from turning over I would trust Robert and any of the guys he has working for him in fact he has pulled several of my tractor trailers for me.I got to know Robert and his work when I was running a heavy duty tractor for Prices Gulf in Blacksburg and you just can't beat Robert and his guy on their prices or knowledge you know what people say you get what you pay for and he is the very best that I know ofKeep up with all the great work my dear friends andDave Johnston

Robert Youngs Towing provides great service. My wife was in an accident and her car was a total loss, they came out quickly and got her car towed. The next day they were more than accommodating to allow us to gather our personal belongings from the car in the lot in Buchanan. So let s just say I had an unfortunate situation to happen on 1/15 buttttt it turned out so pleasant. Lets just say I was stuck in the Buchanan location and I was rescued by JASON( yes his name deserves all caps )I was nervous and really just torn up inside after getting stuck.Jason came out with his kind, VERY gentle and warm demeanor. He had amazing customer service skills that really made me feel safe and a bit calmer about the situation.I have to say Jason REALLY was a pleasure to work with. Robert Young's is extremely unprofessional and unqualified to deal in towing. My car was totaled in the downtown area during a hit and run by someone who ran a red light ad double the speed limit. The towing company provided me less than a minute to gather my personal belonging out of the car. I just twice called about recovering my belongings from the vehicle. The man who answered the phone was condescending, disingenuous, nasty, rude, inconsiderate, and pushy. I asked several times about my possible options and he refused to help me. His excuses were "your insurance company will have to handle it" and "we don't do that kind of stuff." He then had to nerve to say "oh, I have a pile of calls coming in and you're holding me up." Robert Young's is definitely a town company you want to avoid. The only thing they appeared to care about is towing people for the maximum amount of money with total disregard for the customer. Would definitely give negative five stars if it were possible.Service: Car towing
