I only gave this business one Star because I had to in order to leave a review. I went to my local Pep Boys shop today after I called earlier in the week and told the manager what problems I was having, and he said very kindly that he would be happy to take a look at it and they could fix it for me. No problem so I go in today and he is not there. But the assistant manager Steve was there. From the beginning of our interaction, I knew that this is a person who wants a job, but does not want to work. I told him I had an appointment to have it repaired today and he said they would have to run diagnostics and find the problem which could take up to five hours and not until then would they contact Warranty Company to get authorization to have the repair fixed. I called my Warranty Company while I was there in front of him and did verify that it is something that s covered under my warranty however, the assistant manager Steve kept trying to tell me I needed to come back another day when I could drop it off and leave it have for them do diagnostics that was gonna cost $250 and then have to pay an additional deductible to my Warranty Company. I asked him why am I having to do this if I m telling you that another mechanic has diagnosed the problem and he said that s not how we do things around here and again was just trying to get out of doing any could have cared less. Hi also asked him about putting a plug in one of my tires. I ran over a small piece of metal and it put a hole in my tire and from the get-go he said I m not sure if we can do it. It depends on the size but likely not. I ended up, turning around and walking away from this person who ironically enough is in management and wants a job but does not want to do a job. How he is an assistant manager is beyond me I will never ever return to that store again. Not only was he extremely rude and lazy I got to hear him have a conversation with a customer about some woman who is fed up with her husband and is going to file for divorce because it was only the three of us in the lobby and I m standing there, waiting for him to acknowledge my presence while he s talking to a customer about some woman s divorce Not a professional environment at all.

Girlfriend took the car in for an issue with her brakes pulsing. They did their free brake inspection (service brakes only evidently), identified issues, and she gave them the go-ahead to fix it. After several hours (up to and slightly beyond their closing time) they fixed everything. Except the brakes were still pulsing. Prices were steep, so we were shocked that the issue that we described seemingly wasn t addressed at all. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and not call it gouging, we pay a high price for them to fix it on the same day and for their knowledge to diagnose what us laypeople don t understand. We go back the next morning and ask them how they couldn t feel the brakes shake and pulse. Took him for a ride in the parking lot and he claims they never experienced it (although we can replicate the problem consistently). Their word against ours. Fine. Then he goes on to do a quick diagnostic with the computer (10 min.) and comes to us with the actual problem we were dealing with. $1200 and 5+ hours of our time later, now they tell us what s still wrong with it. Ridiculous. When we asked why they didn t just run the check to begin with during the free brake inspection, he said Well we wouldn t think to check that if the brakes were pulsing like you told us. Maybe if you said they were grinding we would have just gone straight to the ABS. What s the difference between grinding and pulsing brakes??? Well what s the difference between black and white? Seriously? We don t have 40 years of being a mechanic under our belt. We explained the problem to the best of our ignorant ability and entrusted you all to do your due diligence and be thorough.Icing on the cake was when he calls us back after we leave because they had left their code reader plugged into the car. Embarrassing and unprofessional how poorly they went about the entire situation. If you like paying a ton for them to fix a bunch of problems other than what you take it in for, here s the shop for you!

My appointment was at 8am and was scheduled two days in advance. At 2pm that afternoon they still hadn't even looked at it. I sacrificed a whole day of work when I could have just brought it to them when they were ready. What's the point of booking an appointment if you can't even meet the obligation it requires? I thought these guys were professionals. However, I can't comment on the quality of their work. Still waiting for the conclusion unfortunately. Now whatever needs repaired will have to be scheduled for another day. So that's going to be two full days I've lost here! a complete loss. Once again I'm strictly reviewing my experience based exclusively on the scheduling and time management. Maybe they do good work, maybe they don't. I'd definitely ask them if they plan to begin work at the time your appointment because if your vehicle is required to make money at your job like mine is, it will save you a great deal of frustration and loss of income. Very unsatisfied. I hope they work on this....a lot! I would not recommend them. First and last time for me. Thanks for reading.

Terrible customer service. Left vehicle overnight to be inspected, after being told doing so would put it first Inline. Called first thing the next morning and was told it was third in line and would be done in a couple hours. Called to check on status five hours later and the gentleman who answered the phone (Eric) was rude and made it seem like it was unlikely to get done by the time I needed and that they were just getting to it. I told them to not worry about the inspection and that I would come get the car.

We were heading to Richmond and found a tear in the sidewall of one of our tires. We called pep boys, and they said they would help us out, even though we told them we would arrive 10 minutes after they closed. They were prompt, kind, and total lifesavers! Joshua and the other mechanics there are grade A. Could not recommend this store more.

Pep Boys Roanoke really helped me out when I needed it. Had a nail in my tire and was on a time limit. They saw me immediately and got it fixed in 40 mins. They were extremely helpful.

Joshua needs a new job. Called to confirm tires was there after driving 2 hours still had to wait 30 minutes. Asked numerous times about date code on tires was sold 2 new tires that are year 2021. Asked if anything could be done was told they was special ordered they was mine. If this is how pep boys let there representatives treat customers ill go elsewhere. There's no need in the attitude and un professionalism showed! Tried to order tires from him to begin with wanted me to drive there to pay wouldn't allow us to pay over phone. So I had no choice but to order through website. The tires was pickup and carry never been mounted hadn't even put them in car.

After calling a few places trying to get a tire patched with no luck pepboys managed to get me in. Unfortunately, you could tell it was just one of those days where everything had to go wrong and it ended up taking way longer than expected so the manager didn t charge me.I offered to pay saying I don t mind but he refused and told me to have a great day and apologize for the wait. Honestly, they re so nice I have no problem sitting all day. Their chairs really help make the time go by faster and the friendly staff.

We won't take our vehicles anywhere else but here. The Store Manager is awesome, and it trickles down to all of the others. Everyone that works here is professional and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the problems/solutions. They don't take advantage of the customer's lack of knowledge to overcharge or upsale. It feels great knowing if we ever have car problems, we'll be back up and running in no time!

I now take all my family vehicles and issues to these guys. Other shops in the area have broken parts when working on my Jeep (e.g. simple oil change and tire rotation ended up with locked up brakes and having to replace all my lug nuts). Another shop charged me 40% more for repairs to a BMW than these folks. I don't care if the name is Pep Boys...I care if the mechanics know what they are doing and put the effort into doing it right. W.T. (store manager) and the mechanics I have met make this place! Without them I would be looking elsewhere. Good work, courteous and honest staff...that's what it should be and that's what it is at this shop. Keep it up!

Aaron and his assistant manager were great! The dude who installed the tires and did the alignment also seemed very diligent and methodical in his work. One small feedback for improvement to share is this. I had purchased some nicer valve cover on my replaced AT tires. Those seemed to have been discarded during the installation process, and I failed to take notice. In their place were three mismatched black plastic valve covers with the fourth tire installed without any valve cover whatsoever at all. It's all good. I fixed this with a quick trip to Advance Auto today. In my humble, a concerted attention to this kind of detail would be beneficial for the overall customer experience in the future. Still 5 stars for me!

Excellent experience at this location, after an emergent accident on the highway 3 hours from home, this was our closest location on a Sunday evening. We were never rushed, attention to detail was incredible as well as making sure we were at our safest for our continued trip home. We are very grateful for their services & help I. A very stressful situation.

I dropped my truck off 30 min early for my appointment. They then called me 6 hours later to let me know it was done. They installed the wrong lug nuts and did not program my aps sensors. They said they did not do it due to the max pressure listed on the tire but they misread it and refused to admit they were wrong. I also had an appointment for an alignment but they told me when I picked up the truck they couldn t do it, not when they called me to let me know the truck was done due to the length of the vehicle. I would not recommend this shop. They said they were covered up but two hours before closing the mechanics had there personal cars on the lifts working on them.

If this could get 0 stars it would. I Took my car in for a transmission Flush/filter change and to get new suspension. The car was leaking transmission fluid after I got the car back and I took the car somewhere else. Found out that the dip stick had been broken and GLUED back together and the glue did not hold AND they never changed the filter, they just wiped it with a rag and didn t properly seal the transmission pan back up. I was not informed that the dipstick was broken when I picked up the car, Therefore I will NEVER take my car here again.

Trip#1 Took truck for alignment and 2 new tires. Explained to staff of how I wanted tires on vehicle. Also requested 4 TPM sensors to be installed. Pick up truck and staff did not do as requested with tires and did not install all 4 TPM sensors, only installed 2.Trip#2 Called manager because alignment was off and all 4 sensors were not installed. I was told to bring vehicle back. Brought vehicle back. Received phone call stating that the sensors I brought (which were the same sensors from the 1st trip) were not the correct sensors. Was also told that the wheel alignment machine was broke and they couldn t fix alignment. As I walked out the door a worker said drive safe ! Essentially I brought my vehicle there the 2cd time for absolutely nothing besides waisting my time, gas money and to be disrespected as I walk out the door. Still haven t gotten my wheel alignment after spending $120. Hopefully, I will get these things fixed at a different tire shop without as much hassle.

I called around a few places to see if I could get a emergency tire repair, but they all wanted me to leave the vehicle "so they could try to fit it in today or tomorrow." I called Pep Boys and they said, "come on down." My vehicle was fixed while I waited and they even offered to do a quick repair for free. I got the full repair which was still reasonably priced. They will be my first call from now on.

Two thumbs up! Super nice people and very friendly. They have saved my backside a few times and have went above and beyond to help me. Bought a used Jeep that had no prior history and an arm length of problems and these guys bent over backwards to help me. Even with sudden issues they have fixed things same day! Kudos and will go back time and again!

Took my car for alignment. Told me it would be an hour tops. Sat for 2 and half hours. They couldn't do inspection. Took it to NTB, failed inspection. It came out that Pep Boys charged me for the service, but never aligned my car. The machine couldn't have performed the alignment with a bad tie rod end. They tried saying they didn't have it on the lift... how did you get the wheels off to do an alignment? They took my money and did nothing. Plain theft.

Today I went in for an oil change that was covered by my warranty company. Everything was completely covered. I just wish I wasn t met with some very rude customer service in the beginning.
