Went here this morning to get my car inspected. Service was exceptional and very fast!! I will definitely me coming here for my inspection needs again!

Brought my 91 CRX in due to it overheating. Scott diagnosed my car immediately letting me know I had a hole in my radiator hose, filled me up with coolant and made sure I was able to get to work safely. Later on I was able to fix the hose myself. Thanks again Scott!

I had never been to Richmond before a weekend trip in June, and while I was there I had a major suspension breakage and no tools. I happened to be stopping at a coffee shop next door when I noticed Scott Motor Co on the corner. Decided to ask if he'd give me a hand...He had the broken sway bar link out in less than 10 minutes and wished me safe travels. Not only did the owner help me out on a blazing hot Monday morning, but he gave me some suggestions on future-proofing the problem and was wonderful to talk with. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.Was surprised to find people complaining about not noticing the shop is closed on Fridays... Doesn't sound like the shop's fault! I'm no Richmond local, but I'll certainly be recommending this shop to anyone I know passing through.

I'd never been there nor had I'd known anyone who had, but I took a chance. I called a few days before to see if they could fit me in. Rather than saying no, she said "give us a call after your meeting & we'll see what we can do". Anyway I got there early, told them what I needed and the fact that I had a meeting & couldn't wait. The mechanic said "no problem, it'll be ready when your meeting is over". And he was a man of his word. Cordial, respectful and professional. I think I found my new mechanic!

This place is what every mechanic shop should strive to be. They will work with you and tell you exactly what you need. No more, no less. They are looking to get your car problems fixed without having to make money off of telling you that you need services or parts that aren't necessary. Very knowledgeable, affordable, and will consult you before doing any work you have not already approved. I can't say enough great things about this place. Be ready to get here early though as their daily slots fill up fast!

I cannot day enough good things about Scott and this place! We are new to the area and brought my sons car in for something to be fixed. He stopped what he was doing and took care of it right away!! He was truly a BIG help in knowing the car was taken care of and done right. He could have charged a ton but his price was more than fair!! Service and quality tops any I ve been to. HIGHLY recommended!!

This place is very close to my house, but I never went because it's in Shockoe Bottom with no lot to park in, just street parking (so be prepared for that). I used to go to another place near my office b/c I could just leave my car there, go to work, and then retrieve it at the end of the day. Then the pandemic hit, and I was not going into work any more, and I needed my car inspected. It was easier to go here so I tried it. I went again today for a small thing, and he took care of a few other small things while he was at it, and didn't charge me one cent! I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I will definitely take my car there for all inspections from now on, and any other repairs that come up. Seems like a place that will give you the service you need, and not try to upsell you on things you don't.

First the owner tells me he only does inspections in the morning and all of his "other work" in the afternoon. Other work?? OK fine, I'll go in the morning. "Great!" he says. "Just bring your car in when we open at 8:00 and it's first come first serve" Only he neglected to tell me he isn't open on Friday. Or Saturday. Or Sunday. I keep hearing that the staff was very helpful or whatever. Staff? What staff? The man told me himself that he was a ONE-MAN operation. I guess everybody else can afford to leave their cars here to be worked on for weeks and that's what constitutes "other work." DON'T COME HERE!!!

Lou is an Amazing person I totally would advise everyone to go to lou & get wonderful Custer service!! I just love him & I thank God for allowing him to be who he is! There is only one Lou!!

This small business auto repair shop is very reputable. I m sitting here on a Friday 1/04/2019 and I realized it s closed ; bummer. I pull the business up on Google and as plain as day the Google business page states that it s closed.I m leave this great 5 start review to refute the poor one left by Benjamin Toro. Yes it s a one one show, yes they are closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but if you want a mechanic that you can rely on and that won t empty your pockets over some non existent repairs support this SMALL BUSINESS.If you want the like and the feel of the big box repair shops. They are waiting for you with their hands wide open to dig in you pockets Monday - Sunday go there.

Honest hardworking shop here. I came in one day and they told me they were too busy to look at my car. I brought it back the next day and they got to it right away. Only charged me $5 for the new part. I hope my car doesn't break again, but if it does I know where I'm going.

This place is wonderful. I was convinced I needed a new alternator or battery and told the guys here that. They looked at my car the next day and called me to tell me it was just a loose battery cable. I was so pleased and impressed! This is definitely my go to place now.

Great, honest, and homely mechanics in downtown Richmond. Trust is always a big factor in who you take you car to for repairs and these guys show they truly care about you and your vehicle. They always shoot me straight about the problem and take care of it for me.

Great, honest and no BS car repair shop. I went in for an issue with my slave cylinder. It only needed fluid, and they told me there'd be no charge since it was an easy fix. Not necessarily raving because it was free-- Just happy with the honest and straightforward service. Highly recommended

Quick work and always the best prices in town. It s unbelievable the amount of honesty and integrity you can t find in this city but Scott holds highly hear with his team. Won t be afraid to tell you the truth or recommend someone who is quicker or specializes.

They we're extraordinarily helpful in getting me out of a bind quickly, at a reasonable cost, and with proactive communication!On my way to work on 95/64 when I see in my rearview mirror "smoke" billowing out behind my car. I notice my engine temp gauge heading towards max. Yikes. I pull over right away downtown Shockoe to see coolant sprayed all over my engine bay and coolant steam aggressively leaking. I'm new to the city, frustrated, far from my neighborhood, AND it's a holiday (MLK day). Where can I go, and who can I trust? Who is even OPEN? Looked on my phone for shops close enough to limp to, but the first one didn't no answer. Then Scott Motor picked up. The guy was quite polite and told me to come right away: they'd be able to help.When I arrived at the shop, I was immediately back to feeling skeptical. Found street parking amid some snow, and inside were some partially reconstructed cars covered in tarps, some scruffy guys next to a wood-burning stove right by the door. But after talking to Steve there, I felt like I left my car in good hands.A+ on communication from start to finish, especially as they proactively reached out as they learned more about the scope of repairs.Radiator was busted, and they got it replaced quickly and at a reasonable price (I compared to quotes I got from other shops once Scott Motor told me the issue). They even dropped my price since I had a gallon of coolant to contribute to refilling my car. My only complaint was that radiator fluid was still all over my engine bay, so it took a few days for it to all burn off - all the while leaving me temporarily concerned that there was still a coolant issue with the car. However, it's now three months later of daily commutes and a few road trips, and I've had no issues with any of their work.Accurate diagnosis with no "extras" - YESQuick service - YESReasonable prices - YESWorkmanship - YESRustic shop - YESWould return? - Absolutely!

This guy is the car whisper. I went by there because my car was squeaking and with two wrenches and 3 minutes, he fixed my car. THEN, he said, when I asked him how much I owed him, he said to get him next time! I LOVE LOUIS!!!! He is truly a good person!

Scott Motor Co... are very professional. They ran thru my inspection in detail and explain what it would be need for the future requirements once the inspection was done. Their price are reasonable and I would recommended to all just like my friend Jay recommended it me. Its a five star place.

So happy this place is right in DT rva. I went there for an inspection, they checked everything quick and I was out in about 10 mins. Other places (well known) said it would be take an hour.Great staff, right to business and very friendly. Highly recommend going here if you need any work done on your car.

Worst experience ever today!!! And im still a little bothered but everyone isn t genuine. And the way this man the owner made me feel today was unacceptable!!! I really wish I never went there!!!

I've been taking my car to Scott Motor Co. For three years now. Not being from the area, I had a couple questionable experiences, and then I found them! Honest, knowledgeable, and hardworking people, I can't ask for more!
