Took car here and they call me up saying the car is ready and they replaced the wiper blades for $70.. fine, I show up and look at the wiper blades thinking they are oem and they got the cheapest ones that cost about $20 per blade. They essentially helped themselves to $30 of labor for the cheapest wiper blades that would ve taken me 5 minutes or any auto parts store 5 FREE minutes. FINE. I let it go because they re very close to my house and I walk back after drop off for state inspection.Month later they give me a price of brakes and when I show up they charge me $70 more than quoted over the phone. They blame it on a pricing mixup and refuse to budge about it. They re not honest and fair like they claim. They re using their location that s in a relatively wealthy Tuckahoe to come up with any price on the fly assuming the people around here won t notice or want to dispute it. Well, WRONG! They get offended and rude when anyone dares to speak on it or address them directly.Never getting my business again.

As a person that does all repairs to our vehicles, from small to major, this is the only establishment in all of Richmond where if I am told the car needs XYZ to pass the State Inspection, not only do I trust them and not question it, I have them do the work.Honestly, one has to wonder how much longer such a reputable establishment will last because every year you leave with the impression that it is just too good to be true .

Outstanding response to an urgent need to have a wheel hub and tire replacement after bouncing off a curb. They were extremely courteous and patient, while handling my emergency situation with quick resposive service. Such a great team and experience! I struck out with two other auto repair locations in the area, but Justin at Preston's Auto rescued me. They were packed and he still checked and fixed my tire on the spot today. Everyone was kind, professional, and went out of their way for me. Thank you, Preston's Auto Service. My A/C was on the fritz and every repair shop I called was booked for 2-3 weeks. A friend recommended I reach out to Preston's and I'm sure glad I did! They were booked as well, but said if I could get my car there quickly and leave it for the day (a Friday, no less), they would do their best to get it repaired that day. They called me a few hours later to say it was repaired, AND the repair cost was lower than I expected! They were friendly and professional, and I plan to use them in the future, as I am new to Richmond. Thank you for your excellent service, Preston's!

I have only visited for state inspections, but service is already great and customer service too! Coworkers of mine use this place regularly which is how I heard about it. It s kind of a mom and pop type of business which I actually appreciate and love! Do yourself a favor and Come here for your auto service needs!

The best customer service! After a series of unfortunate situations with other shops, I took my car to Preston s desperate for answers. While they do not repair mufflers, the gentleman referred me to an incredible shop right down the road. Their honesty and willingness to help is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to having my car service there from now on!

Looking for a reliable auto mechanics? Look no farther, Preston is the place. We have tried many auto shops locally for State Inspections, tire replacements, and repairs. We really liked the consistency, customer care and trust that we get at the Preston. They have always done a great job and their price was fair. When my daughter needed two new tires, Justin shopped for us like he was replacing tires for his own car. He found reliable tires with budget in mind. For State Inspections, we normally drop our car off the day before in the evening, it will be ready early next day. We are thankful that we have Preston to rely on.

Almost didn't go to Preston's because of so many bad reviews but gave them the benefit of the doubt since they've been in business for so long. That was a mistake. While I wouldn't consider their prices a rip off, they are definitely on the high side. Took my car there for an inspection after having my regular mechanic check it out first (he doesn't do inspections). They failed it for rear brakes and wanted quite a bit to replace them. Took it back to my regular mechanic and had him do the repairs (for $100 less than Preston's). The real kicker though is that the brakes should NOT have failed. Though worn, they were still legal and should've passed. I will not be a repeat customer.

Took my truck for two front tires to be replaced . Twenty four hours later they called me to come and pick it up! When I get there I saw one of the tires is still flat ( brand new) ! Then they said come back tomorrow! I came back to pick up the truck for second time and I saw the second new tire is flat !!! They told me to come back again tomorrow! Came back and they charged me for second time! Although they never fixed it in the first time! I told them you didn't fixed the tires before and they started to get angry at me ! For their own fault ! I don't recommend this shop at all and advise you not to lose your money !

Aside from a state inspection, I DO NOT recommend using Preston's for your auto repair needs. Giving them the benefit of the doubt on overcharging for services beyond an original estimate -- even after requesting they call first before proceeding if they found anything else that needed repair -- they charged me almost double the original estimate. My son took another vehicle in to check the spark plugs and they charged him $130 to replace brand new spark plugs and $27 additional for "diagnostics". These guys are very good. Left my Jaguar with them for a leaking fuel line repair, brake fluid change and inspection. I was expecting all that to take up to a week - they had it done in less than a day! Will definitely be using them again.

Have used this station for our vehicles as long as I can remember.. well over 35 years. Always trusted them to do what needed to be done & have been charged fairly, and still do. They know their stuff and do honest work. Highly recommend them!

Had an issue with my A/C on the first warm day of the year. Took it here one afternoon last week and they showed me where the pinhole leak was coming from. Wasn t a huge deal, had the part in the next morning and a few hours later I was good to go.Definitely recommended.

Prestons is nothing short of amazing! They have serviced 3 vehicles of ours, always professional, fast and priced affordable. We have NEVER been disappointed! Prestons has been around a LONG time, a lot their clients are of an older generation that dont fuss with the computer and making reviews. Don't pass this place up, they really are great!

Said they would fix an issue Monday and didn't get the car back til Thursday. By then they had broken the automatic seat on the drivers side. Not to mention they left a tool inside the wheel hub that could have killed us and ruined tire/shocks.When we brought it in so they could fix said issues, the manager said he Might fit it in. Understandably upset we said they needed to do it today. Why is it our problem for what they messed up? The manager then said they refused to fix the issues and to leave.Beware! Shoddy work and bad service!

me and wife needed state inspection so we stop by precision auto repair services on or trip in Richmond they say the all four brakes needs to be replaced and thay attempting to charge $600 to replace them I looked online and found a price for 37 bucks I can do it at home or find someone for way cheaper. Precision is a scam... At most the price should be no more then $150.00 for all 8 parts and labor added seance thay got tools for a faster job so do you math people. I will not go back to them even my car broken down at there shop or in front of it. i just my take the time out of my day if i did not have a job to protest there store!!!!

Service was beyond pathetic. Go to a pro . Over 30 hrs for 2 tires & state insp. Said car wascready until I got it, then had done NOTHING. Had to bring back & wait for tires.Service: TiresService: Tires
