The manager John and his team was great to work with! Do to the mistreatment at another tire company competitor I placed a phone call and these guys got me a new tire in right away for me. Had it waiting for me when I pulled up and even jumped right to my vehicle to fix it. These guys were a delight to deal with. I highly recommend!

Everything was going quickly and smooth until the very last moment when I went to leave and get back in my car and one of their male mechanics who worked on my car waited outside to try and ask me my name and if I had a boyfriend. This is completely inappropriate to be doing to your lone female customers who are just trying to get their car fixed, or any types of customers for that matter. Before this happened I would have totally considered returning here for other car related issues, but not after that. Teach your employees to do better.

John O the service manager was great & efficient as were the mechanics. 10/10 would recommend this place to friends & others! I showed up at 5:50pm with a flat and they were willing to take a look at it and keep it overnight in order to get it fixed first thing in the morning.

Husbands battery died, pouring down raining and nobody s around, so he starts walking carrying his old battery, originally headed to a different store because this location didn t pop up. So glad he passed by here because they not only helped him get the battery he needed but gave him a ride the half mile back to his truck. Five star customer service and great looking out!

What should have been a straightforward alignment turned into a two-day circus. You can just set a hundred dollar bill on fire and your car will be better aligned afterwards than if you make the mistake of taking your car into this shop. I left the shop and immediately noticed my steering wheel was significantly turned to one side while driving straight. Called the shop and they claimed it was "just a sensor issue," but I'd need to go to another NTB branch to get it reset because they didn't have the appropriate scanner for my car. So in the afternoon after confirming my car can be seen, I take the car to the Henrico NTB, where...my car cannot be seen for another alignment. They reset the sensor but my steering wheel is still crooked and pulling to one side when I brake. This location gives me an extensive rundown of how 3000 W. Broad Street location doesn't have the tools or skills to do the work properly.After a call to the regional manager I am informed I will need to go back in person to this clown show of a business to get my refund. The staff doesn't know how to do a refund, so then I had to waste another 30 minutes while they get on the phone with corporate to process your refund. You'll then be treated to a charming display of attitude as the staff stand in front of a sign that clearly reads "signs of a bad alignment include a steering wheel pulled to one side while driving straight." Instead of apologizing, they will lie to corporate in front of you that "they DID the alignment, all they forgot to do is reset her sensor, they don't know why she's so mad." Meanwhile in this 30 minutes I've had enough time to read the reviews of the 3rd (yes, 3rd) NTB location the regional manager has set up an appointment at for me to finally get my alignment corrected. I decide this entire chain has wasted enough of my time. I ended up going to a different business to get the alignment checked. Big surprise - they have to do a new alignment because both of the front wheels were not aligned properly by NTB.If all of that sounds like your idea of a good time, then please feel free to patronize this business.UPDATED TO ADD: They also cross threaded one of the lug nuts, damaging my car and costing me additional money to repair.

John, the manager, and his team were great. Very responsive and open Sunday! I was from out of town and he plugged a flat and gave me great guidance on monitoring it and Michelins road side service. Highly recommend. Honest.

Had an oil change done at this location as soon after my vehicle started choking out and cutting off. After having my car looked over for leaks it was confirmed that this location drained all the oil out of my car and never placed any oil in and almost locked my engine. Normally I go to the other location up broad, but decided to utilize this location this particular time. I will never be going back and I do not recommend to anyone because they do not double check their work and their mistakes can cost you your entire vehicle.

I had called the same day and was able to come in within a hour for my flat tire. The 2 older men in the office were very nice and took the time to conversate with me. It was fast and the younger man outside even pointed out another thing that I should keep an eye out for that I wouldn t have even known of. Fast and easy service!

I have been coming to NTB for a very long time back when they were named Merchants Tire . They are professional, great communication and always willing to help you in any way possible

The other NTB stores warned me to not go back to them because they don t know what they re doing. The manager spoke to me like I was a child, I don t take rude jokes from people I m not friends with so it was odd he was comfortable speaking to me the way he did. His service advisor (black lady) was rude and ordered the wrong parts for my brake service. She told me $250 for me to get my front brakes done.. rotors and pads. Never showed me any quote so I know what I m paying for and never said hello when she came in. She would walk in and out the door multiple times without telling me what s going on with my car, what she s ordering, the price or showing any paperwork. When I asked the manager what was going on, She yelled in anger from the other side of the window, I m ordering the parts!! Smh. I went to another NTB to have the service done and they said that price she told me was justfor brake pads. A front brake service has never been that low at NTB. Thank god I didn t have the service done by them.

The staff & service here was wonderful. I stopped in for four new tires before getting on the road to head back home up North. Tina & Wayne were amazing and I am forever grateful for them.

Our tire blew out on 95 Friday afternoon. NTB was the ONLY shop within 1 hour each way that had a run flat in stock for us. Wayne answered and was so kind-they fit us in at 5pm on a Friday. One of the guys stayed past his shift and replaced the tire for us. 10/10 experience with nice, honest people. Highly reccomend.

Came here for the first time recently with a screw stuck in my tire. They had me in and out in about an hour and laughing the whole time! Great staff, wonderful customer service, and great tires!

They were extremely nice and receptive when I walked in, the inside of the waiting room is updated and comfortable. They were quick and I even showed up 10 minutes before my appointment and they immediately got my car in and out. I'd definitely recommend coming here!

Got my tire fixed by the incredible team at this NTB location. Special shoutouts to Monte, Dee and Jamal. I ll be back tomorrow because of another damn flat tire special shoutout to the debris on Virginia side roads.

Though this place has changed owners twice and managers at least twice that they have always been nice and cordial. They still have a $20 oil change and it's a good place to get inspections. They do auto repairs too so Scott's addition people, you have another choice

I struck an odd object in the road and, the next morning, my right front tire was almost flat. I expected to need to replace it and my vehicle doesn't have an on-board spare (Mini Cooper). I was able to get into this NTB and my car seen within the hour. It turned out the tire only needed to be refilled w air, no damage! They filled the tire, checked the other levels and sent me on my way, free of charge. Tire is still rolling, fully inflated. Really grateful for honest folks like these in the car maintenance biz!!

Exceptional service! I was able to get an appointment right away and while the problem with my car was not one they could fix, I was given expert guidance and advice on the next steps. Super friendly and helpful - 5 stars all around!

Always friendly, but not sure how much I'd trust to do anything but the simplest repair. Brought it for an alignment, and chewed through a set of tires in <20k miles, very uneven. Had them replace the tires and realign. They said they aligned it again, but said they couldn't give me the computer printout for whatever reason. New set of tires lasted 15k miles, and left me stranded outside of ashville. Pic below. I didn't notice the wear because there was nothing on the outside, and worn through the belts on the inside.EDIT: Going to downgrade my rating to one measly star. I had decided to give NTB another shot since I guess there's new management since they were Merchant's. This wasn't because of anything done to remedy my prior issue (I contacted corporate, and posted the response below. This was the extent of her communication; there was nothing actually done to address my issue). Anyway, the wife's car was shaking. Brought it in for a wheel balance 3 weeks ago. Got it done, still shaking. She was going to be making a road trip today, and I wanted to check out the suspension and make sure that there wasn't anything worn causing the issue. Took the wheel off, and again saw the inside of the tire worn to the belts. This is flat out dangerous, and could have stranded her far from home (or worse). This is so freakin' obvious, for a TIRE PLACE, that I can only conclude that 1) the work was never done, or 2) these guys are completely incompetent and shouldn't be trusted to change a wiper blade. The pic of the tire is below as well. I got my money back, but there was no explanation of how this happened, any further offer of compensation, no acknowledgement of the error, no apology."Thank you for contacting National Tire and Battery/ Merchant s Tires in regards to your visit to our Richmond location. I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of our store for failure to complete services on your vehicle as expected during your visit. It is unacceptable for you make a second visit to our shop to have these to services completed. I can understand how frustrating this must have been for you! Here at the corporate office, we ensure proper documentation of customer feedback to help maintain a degree of professionalism as well as improve the level of customer service given at our stores. Made an appointment for an 28 point car inspection just to be told I had to drop it off for a few hours. Never had this experience here before but the white guy running it seems to be a new face so maybe that s why. Why do I need to make an appointment to drop off a car??? Kind of defeats the purpose but touch� that says that because service is free they did not want to help me at that time. Which means they are money hungry there now and not about helping an individual mind you I explained I ran over a deer all they had to do was jack my car up for 5 minutes and make sure everything was fine.

While traveling on the interstate, we realized we were rapidly losing tire pressure. On a Saturday afternoon and an hour from home we may have been stranded. The two guys at NTB were beyond courteous and accommodating to get us fixed up and headed back towards home.
