Honestly shocked the state let's them continue to do inspections. I have the same experience as others that were rejected as an attempted service upsell. Strange that when they went to show me why they failed it the issue "wasn't so bad actually". They seemed nice enough but trust goes a long way for small businesses. Also, please save yourself the time of responding with the same internet illiterate replies that you've given others, it's clearly a trend that others have noticed, even if you have not. Why not be honest and address its an area in your business where improvement is needed? If you don't people might start wondering how you can afford the show cars in your showroom?Update: just got a clean inspection from my normal shop the next day. I did not need to replace anything. They had "no clue" why I was told I needed new inner tie rods and lower control arms to pass inspection.Response to owner : What would they stand to gain by lying to me? If they agreed with you they could of gotten more business for the alleged repairs you all claimed I needed instead of just the $20 for the inspection. I watched them inspect both parts. They lost money by being honest. Instead of pointing fingers like a child, take responsibility and learn from your mistakes.

Even though I live within walking distance, I've stopped going here after the third time one of the mechanics mansplained stuff to me. I never use that word, but he tried to tell me how to check my oil. Thanks, I got it.

The customer service is great at Hancock's, and the service is very good! I needed extensive work done to my vehicle due to another shop's, shall I say, nonchalance, about the care of my engine. The folks at Hancock's were able to take care of me within a couple of days due to problems with the delay of parts, but as soon as they got everything, they had me up and running again. I was mostly talking with Natalie on the phone about the situation, but when she didn't know the answer, she put the technician, Mike, on the phone to explain what the problem was. Finally! An auto repair shop where you can find out what's going on! The price was reasonable for the work done, and the speed of service was very good considering the wait for parts, which is just becoming a way of life in these times. That's not Hancock's fault. I did have a light come on the day after I picked my car up and drove it straight to the shop. As I had no way to get back home, Natalie was an angel and brought me home! My vehicle was ready the next day, and since I had already spent so much just a couple days before, the shop was very kind in their price. I was referred to Hancock's by my neighbor who has been a customer for years, and now I will also be a long-term customer. I hope you never need car repairs, but we all know they're a fact of life. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to Hancock's!

Took my car to get the AC fix and a year later it's the same problem but this time a part needs to be replaced that will cost $1600. Why wasn't it identified at the first visit? I will never use this place nor will I recommend it.

I have been going here for two years. I recently brought in my car to get a second opinion because it was making a rattling sound. They stated that there was no problem with my engine nor heat shield yet they recommended that I change my struts which cost me almost $1,100. I went ahead with the repair yet my car feels exactly the same and my car is still making a rattling sound that they claimed to not hear. Unfortunately I will no longer be going here and will be taking my car to a different place from now on.

We are new to the area and were having problems with a vehicle. I called because of great reviews and it is close by. I asked for a check engine diagnosis and explained issues on the phone. They were able to look at the vehicle quickly, then called to explain what they found. And while the staff was pleasant, the method of which they diagnosed the vehicle was very flawed. I was told I needed to replace the transmission, a cost of over $3000. The other option was to replace a sensor (but that was just a "chance") for a cost of $500. Being there were no previous issues with the transmission, I wanted a second opinion.Turns out, neither of the options were the problem. The second shop discovered the dipstick to the transmission fluid was bone dry and there was a leak. I am disappointed that Hancocks let me drive away without informing me the vehicle was devoid of transmission fluid after insisting I needed a whole new transmission. I will make the longer drive for the more thorough service.

I just moved to the Chesterfield area and was in need of a mechanic for my aging Jeep. I reached out to Hancock's and they were very accommodating, got me scheduled for my yearly inspection, and their head mechanic talked to me about the issues with my vehicle (which i was able to fix and get it back in/pass). I talked with the owner, and she is super nice, and overall, I came out of the experience as a happy customer, solid 10/10.I will provide updates as I'm certain that my 20-year-old cherokee will be in need of service beyond my skillset.

Hancock's is a great local service center. I have used them often over the past 20 yrs. It's a family owned business and the owner and his staff make you feel welcomed. I have have only used them for routine maintenance so I can't really speak to major repairs, but I have always felt pleased with the work they have done. I would definitely recommend them.

Yesterday I went here for the first time. I needed an oil change and tire rotation. I also had a flat tire due to a nail. They were wonderful. Hannah was very nice, their prices were fair, and it was great that their mechanics showed me things I was not aware of with my new to me vehicle. I've been to so many mechanics over the years, and never have I actually had this great of an experience. They were even able to plug the hole in my tire (some other places charged me for new tires and later I find out that wasn't needed). I will continue going here from now on. I was very impressed with the service and by how much they cared.

Their service is great, I use them for all my vehicles (except the one that's still under new car warranty) and I have more than the average person. This last time I came in I was in a bind because one of my cars that I only drive on special occasion needed an inspection done. It was late on a Friday afternoon and we wanted to take my car up to DC, it had been over a month since I had last driven it and almost that long since the inspection sticker expired. They told me to bring it on in, they had couple other cars ahead of me but got it completed in well under an hour. Much appreciated!!

Excellent service. The only shop in town I take my vehicles to for service. I have gone to them for over 10 years and have never had a complaint with the quality of the work or the price charged. I have compared their pricing and it equal or better than other quotes, and the work is outstanding.

These people aren't honest AT ALL! Worst place ever. Don't bring your car to these people. I brought my car in for what should have been less than a 500$ fix and he claimed my whole car was so messed up it would cost $3,000! I bounced onto a curb with my car so I called the nearest tow and brought to this shop. When he called me for an estimated almost a week later, he claimed my bumper was completely gone (news to me cos I had eyes and I saw with them my bumper still there when I had my car towed to them) and that there was no way I could drive with how my tires were looking. He said everything under the hood was so damaged and my car was as and I quote "as good as scrap metal at this point" mind you I had only hit a curb! The body of my car had only small damage in the front the bumper was cracked and my coolant was leaking. He claimed I would have to pay 3,000 plus but when I started asking which parts he would have to replace and other questions he got upset with me and told me I would need to take my car somewhere else. So when I went to pick up my car he had taken a piece out of the bumper that only had a crack in it but the bumper was still there. I left my car there and still I was able to drive away and make it all the way home with no problems other than it started overheating because the coolant was leaking out but that was all it drove perfectly fine . to my surprise because the way he described it I would have to sell my car for scraps. My car was completely fine, my tires were very driveable they were actually brand new cos I had replaced them a week before. the only thing wrong with my car was the coolant leak and the radiator which only cost me 80$ for the part and nothing for the labor as I had a friend who put it in for me.

Changed to lower rating. Had my brakes and rotors put on and now my brakes squeak. Also had my oil changed and did not reset my oil light

Went in for an 11 o'clock appt for an oil change. Receptionist stated it may be 45 mins or so. I asked her if it would take longer than 45 mins since I would be waiting. She got a nasty attitude and said " I mean they haven't even pulled it in yet". I cancelled the appt and left. I will not support a business where the receptionist is rude and doesn't respect my business. Went down the street to Express Oil Change and didn't even have to get out the car, pulled right up and they were done within 15 mins

Got a state inspection and was okay with the fixes for my car. Had a parking pass in the window, and they said it would have to be removed. I agreed and let them remove it, but asked if they would peel it off so I wouldn t have to pay to replace it. They took it off and shredded it with a blade. None of the edges of the sticker was messed up at all, but there were dull knife punctures and clean cuts. Not what it would look like if it had been scraped off. Very unprofessional, Chris. Office ladies are nice and helpful though just not the mechanic .

They are on Groupon but it seems if you bring the Groupon your customer service is limited. Not a welcoming place at all, mechanic body response when I declined service was awful. They were however very quick in service and the place looks very clean and neat. Dogs in a company? Everyone runs their company as they please but 3 dogs barking while your coming in to get service could scare some people away. Not a place for people with small kids. Only person in there and tv couldn t had been changed to cartoons.

I normally do most of my car maintenance myself because most shops overcharge for removing a few bolts. Hancock's Automotive is one of those few shops that's hard to find.. pricing is fair and they don't leave any screws loose. Definitely recommend

I came on the 1st of the month, a walk in with no appointment, and only had to wait about an hour. The waiting area was comfortable and the staff very friendly. Have used them off and on for years. Would highly recommend!

Used a whole 5 quart jug of mobil1 in an Elantra designed to hold no more than 4.2 quarts. I've never had a shop dump the whole jug in. Insisted it was fine even though the fill mark on the dipstick was at least an inch over the max level. We'll see......
