My daughter was stranded with a flat tire 30 minutes from home the day before Thanksgiving. I traveled over to check things out and ended up taking the wheel off and searching for the closest auto shop in the area. It was Gayton Automotive. Realizing it was the last day before a major US holiday, I knew my i odds were slim to get this tire fixed that day. Needless to say, it was was repaired and i was able to get my daughter back on the road that same day. The staff was very friendly and approachable. So much so that I may go 30 minutes out of my way just to get my own car serviced here. This experience got my Thanksgiving holiday off to a great start. Many thanks to the staff here for the excellent service!

As long as I live in the Richmond area, I will never go to another shop but here! Scheduling an appointment is so easy and pricing is fair for the services needed. I used to hate dropping my car off at a shop as a young woman and getting talking into certain services that needed to be done urgently. I ve never had that problem here. Highly recommend this shop!

Great place! Very trustworthy and reliable. I never feel like they are adding "extras" onto the work that is needed for my vehicles. I would definitely recommend Gayton Automotive to anyone that feels overwhelmed at a mechanic.

I took my car there for a second opinion because I didn't believe the dealer. Gayton confirmed my suspicions. Dealer said the belt tensioner was leaking and the belt needed to be replaced ($470.00). Plus, brake pads and rotors 405.00. Gayton said the belt wasn't cracked and it was a seep, rather than a leak and it would probably be up to year before it would need replacing. Also, the brakes didn't need to be done right away. I took my car in for an oil change and begore I left, I had a bill for $1200.00 in additional repairs. The dealer also recommended a cabin filter change, something I had done myyself in about 12 minutes. I left Gayton paying $89.00. Bye bye dealer.

After 2 years in RVA I feel like I finally have a mechanic and shop I can trust. I was being quoted for a major repair by the other guys and I found out that it was actually a simple fix..it saved me $300! It's comforting to know my car is taken care of and I don't have to worry about being taken advantage of as a consumer. We'll be bringing our cars here from now on and specifically to Preston, he's the best! Honest, friendly, polite. He's a great mechanic and this is a great shop.

Highly recommend. A fantastic group of good people. Honest, friendly, accommodating, highly skilled, conservative in recommending and performing service (i.e., "you have this issue happening, but you can probably just watch it for now" and they will try to fix rather than replace if they can). They are my go to for all of my cars and have been for years.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes, Oil change

very good service. The price is good, staff is polite, place is neat. Decent and honest people.I had car inspection here. Normally when I did it with Midas, they would find something for me to fix and would cost me hundreds of dollars. But here, Ridgefield Auto only charged me $10 to fix the frog light which was broken.

Went in because our check engine light was on and we were afraid it was going to cost an arm and a leg. Turned out to be a small fix! Some companies might try to up-charge customers to pay for something expensive, but these guys tried the cheapest fix first and it worked! Very friendly and knowledgeable about cars and they worked as a team to make sure our needs were met. We just moved to the area and this place will be handling all our mechanic needs!

I usually service my Accord at Honda showrooms. In my last service, I got a $150 bill. I decided to give Ridgefield Auto service a shot. And it turned out to best decision, I made. They called me and discussed the issues in the car and gave a quote upfront. I paid only $60 including all standard services and oil change. Happy to do business.

Needed a state inspection. Made an appointment for that same day. Took a walk and the inspection was done in less than one hour. Easy! They did not try to rip me off like some places that try to make extra money off of you. Gave me honest feedback about upcoming fixes my car would need in the next year.

Since moving away from the area, I would still make the drive to ridge field auto for my car needs. They charge very reasonably and get the job done in a timely manner. Will continue to return due to their honest and stellar service.

I went in to get new brakes on my car and I have never been to a more friendly crew! They were all very welcoming, personable and want to do everything they can to help you out. I will definitely be coming back to them when my car needs a tune up!

I have been using and trusting the folks at Ridgefield Auto for many years. They have worked on all our vehicles, brand new, and some pretty old ones too. They have helped me out in a pinch more than once. They are good people, and talented mechanics. -j-

Awesome place for service. Friendly and reliable. They do great work. I had struts put in and they did a great job and got me in and out at a great time. I highly recommend these guys the whole staff is awesome. They treat you well and they don't rip you off like alot of repair shops. I will definitely be back . Thank you guys again!

This a GREAT and HONEST shop. I took my noisy and rough running truck there expecting an expensive fix, the mechanic (Marshall) diagnosed the noise in literally 3 seconds and the part was on the truck 30 minutes later and it was running perfectly again. Total cost was $14. I will not hesitate to take any of my cars there for service, these are GOOD guys. Thanks Ridgefield Auto , you've got my business! ~Andy Crehore

This is a very nice and comfortable shop, Suzie is the sweetest and so was the mechanic who looked at my transmission.. I really would recommend this place and this will be my permanent place I go. Thank you for everything!

The service isn't bad, and the staff is nice, but the labor costs are WAAAY overpriced for someone who is watching their budget.I went in to get my window motor replaced because it died, and the part was $80 (which sounds about right because the part at a general auto store is about $50) But the labor costs were $145 dollars, for work I know can be done in 30-40 minutes.I took my car in around 9:45am and didn't get it back until close to 3pm.The time it was there wasn't really my issue, as I understand places can get pretty busy, but I feel like I paid for my car to sit in the lot half the day instead of the actual labor cost.If I would have had the tools I needed to do this myself I would have and saved myself time and money.

Time and time agin the Ridgefield Automotive team demonstrates honesty and integrity in their work. In my expierence they do not charge you to diagnose the issue you're experiencing, and more importantly they won't try and sell you parts you don't actually need. I personally think that their hourly service rate is fair and I have no issue paying for service that I won't have to second guess.

TERRIBLE. Kept my car over three months. Never called me to give updates as I always had to call them. Kept telling me they were waiting on parts and then week by week said it would be ready the next week. My car begin having a minor issue while I was out of town. Considering my emergency they took me right in and evaluated and repaired the issue quickly so that I could get back on the road. Wonderful service and people.

I am so thankful & thrilled I went back to Ridgefield Automotive for a "2nd opinion", after getting a rejected State inspection. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an Inspection late in the day, 12/29/16. So I went to another place in the neighborhood . I am a 61y.o. single girl & usually get taken advantage of by automotive repair shops & dealerships. I was told by this other repair shop my car needed about $450 of work, after the owner did State inspection. Yet, Ridgefield Automotive found a couple of minor repairs needed, ONLY! They have been doing State Inspections on my cars for many years , as well as various repair work. Though I started using the dealership to maintain my newer car, several years ago, But now I will return to this fine, family owned automotive shop, for my car's servicing!!!

I have been a customer since 2006. These guys are nice, honest and are pretty quick whether if you are waiting or pick up later. Great inspections, oil changes etc!

Went for the first time - Marshall helped seal a leak on one of my tires. The experience was fast and easy and the price was right. Highly recommended.

Did great work on my accord, but sent my mercedes in for state inspection and to fix the air conditioning. Spent $700 less than i thought it would cost .but when i picked up my car the back of my car was flooded with water like they left the back windows open, while it was raining and the shifter boot was completely ruined cost me $300 to replace. Very disappointed with the level of care. Thought i found myself a new shop. When i called to ask what happened no one answered :/Services: General repairs & maintenance, Air conditioning
