I met Dave randomly and could tell that he was so knowledgeable on auto repairs. He said he worked at DeVoss, I called the next day to set up an appointment. I needed my cars air conditioning repair. They were able to squeeze me in the next day. Professional, knowledgeable, fair pricing. I couldn t recommended them higher. Absolute professionals and they will be used for my commercial fleet. They earned a lifelong customer. AC blows ice cold now!

I recently visited this auto mechanic with concerns about a strange noise coming from my car's rear wheel, suspecting a brake issue. To my relief, they confirmed the brakes were in good condition and were unable to replicate the noise. While I still occasionally hear it, their inability to find anything amiss reassures me. Being new to the area, I've been on the lookout for a trustworthy mechanic. It's refreshing to encounter a service that didn't exploit my concerns by fabricating problems. Additionally, they conducted the Virginia inspection, requiring only a signal light and windshield wiper replacement. They also detected a minor leak in the thermostat housing, offering a very reasonable repair quote. Impressively, they took the time to show me the problem directly in the shop, which I greatly appreciated. Both the technicians and the front desk staff were friendly and professional. Overall, my experience was highly satisfactory, and it's comforting to know there's a reliable and honest mechanic nearby.

I called them in the morning for a last minute inspection and they were able to take me in at 12 p.m. Came in at 12:02 and was out by 12:25. They did my inspection and fixed every issue at had in that time span( needs a brake light, windshield wipers, and a bulb ). Great customer service and the workers were very friendly. A little pricier than what I m used to but I m a little on the cheap side. Highly recommend !

I usually don't post reviews....We have been coming here for over 15 years. They have always been super honest, friendly and professional. Jerry Devoss doesn't mind taking the time to explain what's going on and is able to give some options depending on the situation. I trust their work and never feel like I'm being talked down to or taken advantage of. My check engine light was on so I went to them to get it checked out. They couldn t see anything wrong with my car (when there WAS something wrong) and then proceeded to charge me $97 dollars for investigating it and doing absolutely nothing to fix it. The next day my battery died and the check engine light came back because they never actually fixed the problem only just manually got rid of the light. When I called them about it, the owner was extremely rude and defensive about it!!! I ended up taking my car to a different auto shop for a battery replacement and they immediately figured out the check engine light issue and fixed the simple root cause of it for me WITH NO CHARGE. I do not recommend this place at all especially because they re rude when you re unhappy with their service.

I took my daughter's car to DeVoss Auto to have the brake pads replaced. She had her oil changed at a local Jiffy Lube last month and was told that all four of her brake pads needed replaced and that it was urgent they be replaced soon. I went into this family-owned garage this morning fully expecting to pay for a complete brake pad replacement imagine my surprise when Mr. DeVoss told me that my daughter's brakes were fine. He said her brakes would pass a state inspection and they should be good for at least another year.! Talk about honest! So thrilled to have found this garage in Richmond, Virginia. It gives me such peace of mind knowing that she can take her car to have it serviced and not be cheated.! What a treasure to find in today's day and age.Service: Brakes

Top notch business! I had a sudden trip to take and my tire pressure light came on. At a time where most auto shops are booked and have a lack of help, they saw me on the spot and assured me I was safe to travel. Strong customer service the moment you enter the shop. God Bless them! I called in the morning because my brake light alert came on during my roadtrip. Jerry(?) told me to arrive at 2pm. When my husband and I got there Nick drove my car in and tested my lights.OF COURSE THEY WERE FINE!But no worries, Nick examined the brake lights and replaced the troublesome one.Quick! Friendly! Inexpensive!

Went in to get a last-minute state inspection. There was some miscommunication about the drop off time, but they were professional, courteous, and still managed to take care of my car today. Even though I no longer live close enough to choose DeVoss on a regular basis for my car needs, it's great to know that they still maintain the same exceptional level of service as always. So far, I have been there for routine things (thankfully, for now), but I like going to them because they are a ma/pa place, quick, and honest.After a completed oil change Jerry did make a recommendation for the next visit and I appreciated that because I could plan for it (car was driving funky and it made sense).Prices are fair and I would def. recommend. Have been lived in Richmond less then 2yrs and it has been nice finding reliable mechanic between work and home to service my car.Thanks Jerry and Janet!Update: Had an inspection in Jan 2018. Had a broken taillight, helped me find a new one for as cheap as you can get it ( a friend looked up a used one and it wasn't that much cheaper). At the end of the inspection, he told me that my front breaks were looking worn and that I need new breaks by June if I did city driving (a tad bit longer if not). I don't mess around with breaks and I do a lot of city driving, so looks like June for new breaks.Again, can't stress how nice it is to find a honest mechanic who looks out for you for stuff you may need but won't up sell on stuff you don't need or pretend to fix stuff.

Super pleased with my experience here! I got my state inspection done this morning (made an appointment ahead of time) and was in and out in 15 min with no issues. It s a family-run small business, everyone is very pleasant, and they run an efficient, professional business. Will definitely return.

I ve never owned a car before, and know almost nothing about them. Jerry was super helpful and explained everything to me so that I could understand. Fair pricing, plus a discount for VCU students. Was told to bring my car in and leave it for the weekend. When I got there I had to wait 45 mins while the mechanic was on the phone asking someone else about my car. Then they gave it back after almost a hour just to tell me they need to do more research on my car?? So I did everything I was told to do on time and had a ride waiting to take me to a rent a car just to tell them they are giving me back my car just to research and I'm sorry to cancel the pickup service. So 5 almost a week later I get a call back saying bring your car in again so we can look at it. What????????? You guys already cost me money and time when you could have researched my car before you told me to drop it off. On time! Then the lady on the phone halfway apologizing and being rude saying " good luck taking it somewhere else". And she ended up being rude to me saying that " this has never happened in 25 years". But u want me to bring my car back to you and leave it again??????? I don't mind spending money for quality customer service but when u don't even know about my car but u still tell me to bring it too you just to give it back to me and call me a week later rude over the phone like I did something wrong. I should make them pay for my reservation for the rent a car I didn't need. Wow! I tried to give them business but the customer service was shot when the daughter of the owner called me being rude about me bringing my car back! Guess I will have to take it to the dealership now. But I will say that the owners wife was pleasant talking to my son and keeping us company while i had to wait a hour with my 4 yr old son on his birthday while the mechanic was on the phone getting information when I got there and no time before and I called 4 days ahead of dropping my car off at the shop. And to the owner " Please research your cars before you tell a customer to bring it in over the 3 day weekend" Customer service is a must. And to top it off I lost money so the only one out is me for a rental car I didn't need! Thanks Devoss Auto for your customer service it's 25 years of it....It's a difference telling somebody to bring a car by to be looked at versus dropping it off for the weekend. Come on. Do better next time

I have been going to DeVoss for years now, and I highly recommend. This is a family-owned and operated business, and they have always been honest and fair. They have never tried to upsell me, and make recommendations that suit my lifestyle and financial situation. It's such a relief to have a mechanic I know I can truly trust.

Got my inspection, so far the nicest people I met in the US who offered their service to me. Fair and good price, good and fast work and most importantly, a friendly conversation and smiling faces!I left their shop happy :)

This place is AWESOME!!! I just moved back to Henrico from GA, and needed to have an inspection done and license plates installed, I also had lights replaced. The prices are low, with high quality work done. I would recommend coming here to anyone. Sometimes you meet the nicest people by accident. Needed emergency service on our way to drop off my son at Fort Lee from cleveland, Ohio. Jerry and Janet took us in and got us back on the road in 15 minutes with 4 quarts of oil, after a botched oil change in Cleveland before the trip. They refused to take our money because my son was in the Army. How often do you find such good and kind people as these? If I lived here I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks again Jerry and Janet. You're the best!

Good job guys. I have a broken door of the car, because friend of mine hit me while he parking. It was a minor issue but looks awful and I just use my policy to come to the auto salon and fix the problem. For couple of days everything was right and no one can see the damage now. Thank you for the well done job guys. See you again some day.

6 Stars! My 2011 Dakota's water pump failed while driving down I95 in Richmond. Jerry got me fixed and back on the road in less than 2 hours. Outstanding service!

They did a state inspection for me last minute without an appointment. Very kind and courteous, which was nice after the first shop I stopped by was extremely rude. Highly recommend using Devonshire for car care.

I am extremely happy with the service of that company. I used to use another guy for auto issue I had usually but this time I change my mind and I do not regret about it. Good service and the price was fair for it. Thank you very much for that. I appreciate it.

called to ask if they did "suspension work" in which the woman stated "yes." then I told her what I needed done (car lowered, have all materials) and she changed her tone quickly and shut down the conversation. rude, unprofessional, and most likely profiled me. will never even consider this place again.

Honest and do ok work but they are incredibly rude. It s almost mind blowing how I have been treated as a customer. Go to Edwards Auto Care and get the best of both worlds.
