My experience was negative. I brought my truck in to get the upper and lower control arms replaced. It s a rusty old dodge so of course all the bolts where seized to a death grip. The quote was $2600. They did the lowers but stated they couldn t get the bolts out of the uppers without taking the cab off the frame for an additional $2300. I declined. The cost, plus taking a cab off to get bolts out seemed extreme. They collected $2046 for the lowers so I was left feeling like they got 90% of the money and failed on 50% of the job. Yea, I declined to take the cab off but a professional shop should have tools and skills to get bolts out without charging 15 hrs labor to take a cab off the frame.I took the truck home and jacked it up in the driveway on jack-stands and cut the uppers out with a sawzall and washed what was left of the bolts out with an oxy-acetylene torch. It took me about 3 hrs to do the whole job. Cab never left the frame.These guys would probably do OK on a straight install on a newer vehicle or parts-change job that was as smooth as a YouTube demo. But, if your issues needs specialized skills and tools, you might wind up paying a lot and still be left with most of your problem. I basically wasted my money because I still had to repair the uppers myself plus pay them for the lowers. I might as well done it all myself. A pro shop should have been able to do exactly what I did with a torch and I would have felt like I got my money s worth.

Highly recommend doing business with 4 Wheel Drive Specialty Co. They were timely, helpful and very knowledgeable. Shoutout to Brian and the rest of the crew for doing great work on my Toyota Tacoma. (6inch lift install/alignment, 35inch tires, upper control arms, extended brake lines, etc.)

Took my 06 Silverado here for a new lift, wheels and steering stabilizer. They did not disappoint!! They ordered everything for me with both our opinions and my approval, and stayed on top of everything, including communication and updates. The owner, advisors and techs are well spoken, smart, great costumer service. I highly recommend them for all your 4wd needs..as well as alignments, inspections and whatever your needs may be. They just did my 2018 Nissan frontier S king cab and it's great!! So much betternow. Awesome service! They installed the Rough Country 2.5in leveling kit and new 31x10.50r15 Falken rubitrex tires, alignment and balance . It looks and feels awesome thanks y'all !! 10/10 recommend

Where to start, 1st off these guys honest 2nd prices very reasonable for today's inflation rate, 3rd these guys do amazing work. 4th made things happen on my 2019 Ram Rebel, highly recommended, and will be back for all my suspension work.Semper Fidelis

I can t speak highly enough of this shop. They took my Ford Raptor and have always delivered with everything I needed. They are very detailed and make sure it s done right the first time. Highly recommend this place if you have a 4x4 toy or any truck or jeep.

Don t waste your time here. I set up an alignment three days in advance, never got to it that day. The shop looks like it can handle one or two vehicles at a time. The day of the alignment I show up and everything is off at this place. One customer s truck in the parking lot had just been hit by a transmission jack, one secretary is screaming at someone on the phone, the other looks half asleep. The excuse for not doing the alignment was they ordered the wrong parts for the other vehicle they were working on so they couldn t finish that. I think I got lucky that they never got to my alignment. Big shop excuses, small shop capabilities.

Did a great job on my 2019 F250. Fuel Vapor wheels wrapped in Nitto Grappler 285/75R18s and a ReadyLIFT leveling kit. Very smooth ride and tracks perfectly straight. Extremely pleased with the quality of work and how well it looks. Completely different truck from the stock set up. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. See the before and after...

First, I would like to mention that the staff here are absolutely wonderful! Unlike most automotive businesses, they don't treat you differently because you're a female, making you feel like you don't know anything. They don't take advantage of you, and they never disappoint. They adjust coilovers!!! Not sure if any of you have tried to find someone to adjust and align coilovers in Richmond, but it's a hard find(last shop destroyed the driver's side trying to align it). Clearly just found a diamond in the rough here.This was an awesome experience...they were a little backed up, which, of course is a sign of a shop in high demand, but they got to me quite quickly, they fixed everything, and didn't charge an arm and a leg to do so.Would highly recommend. They deserve the 5 stars.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

Let me start by saying the Manager BRIAN is a terrible customer service representative. I called this location 3 times in total to get a quote for repairs!! Every time I was told to leave my number, name, email and that they would call me with 24hrs. Weeks went by I heard nothing, therefore called back! Said sorry about that let me get you the info and start over as we lost it. Left my info again and was promised I'd get a quote by noon the following day!! I called again 1pm asking for an update and was told to leave my information again for the 3rd time!! He didn't even apologize other than he's been swamped with work. I told him I had 8k ready to do some work but every time I call he kept promising to call back and with that comment he replied well we aren't the shop for you then. I said ok thanks for wasting my time. After hanging up i realized I should report him to the manager, calling back and asking for one, he said I am. I was like im done being treated poorly, all I wanted was a quote, and you had 3 changes to get it to me. Treated me disrespectfully and told me I'm not the right business for you. He replied with well im willing but you need to wait for 24hrs to get it to you, following with but your business isn't needed especially starting it off negatively. SERIOUSLY!? THATS HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE? NOT EVEN SOLVE THE ISSUE SPIT MORE ON IT? I will never recommend people here.

Well organized, professional and friendly. They communicate with you on the status of your vehicle and provided detail pricing. They tell you when your car is ready for pick up. They do quality work. They also provide you with pre maintenance info for your vehicle. Will definitely be going back again for future service on my Toyota 4Runner.

I have struggled for years trying to find the right place for my car and a place that has good customer service. 4x4 is by far the best place I ve ever been to, they have excellent customer service, they re honest and the quality of work is tip-top. I ve been taking my jeep to 4WD Specialty for several years now. Vince and the team have always been good to me and fixed up my jeep from inspections to new tires, lifts, and lighting work. They even installed an automatic window kit I purchased thinking it was something I could do. It turned out great. They have always been super nice, knowledgeable and upfront with costs and estimates. I ll continue to be a customer for a long time! Definitely car guys. I took my truck there to have the steering tightened up. They addressed the problem and also notified me about some small leaks in transmission oil pan and transfer case. Pleased with my first experience with Matt and co. This is a honest and knowledgeable crew. I came here to install an aftermkt trans cooler and was told that actually was not necessary for my vehicle. That's what I call trust worthy service who would not take customer for a run. I will be sure to come back and recommend to others!

Had a issue about an ABS being discontinued they tried their hardest to find the parts I needed for my truck wasn't successful and I wasn't neither so with all that said They Tried to help me along with correcting issues on my truck that another Shop messed up on. So I give them credit. Only issue I had with them they gave back my truck with my my radio deck/ backup camera not working. It was blinking screen so somebody didn't connect something back to the way it was but oh well . I sold the truck. Just wanted to highlight that on them being mindful on returning vehicles with those little things still functioning.

I came into the store at a loss for words. I had a lift installed on my 2016 JK and was so excited only to drive it and figure out that the Jeep was super dangerous. I experienced what I later called a death wobble. The Jeep was out of control in all aspects of the drive. I checked several places only to be told I needed to take the entire lift off and replace it with a much more expensive one. I finally walked into this shop and was met with guys that right off the bat seemed to want to help. They looked over the Jeep and told me what they knew would fix my problem. They installed the parts that they suggested and to my amazement the Jeep rides like new, even better than when I first purchased it. I would now trust these guys with all of my 4x4 needs. Honesty and tons of integrity is what I found. I give them 5 out of 5 stars. They never tried to sell me a new lift but only suggested additional parts that would shore up the lift that I had.

I was having some significant issues with my modified 2014 Wrangler Unlimited. I called and Vince took the time on the phone to really understand the problem. Two days later I dropped off the Jeep. FOUR hours after that, Charlie had all my issues corrected and now it rides perfect. Friendly folks and incredible service! Thank YOU!!! No question where I'm taking my Jeep next time it needs work. Four Wheel Drive Specialty is the best!!!
