They don't actually do tires. My sixty-second experience: The front desk, "We don't do tires... I don't know anything whatsoever about tires." She then proceeded to glare at me, bang around her keyboard and mouse like I messed up her day, coming into a place asking about tires and that has tire in the name, on the sign, etc.

I'd give their service, fact that AAA answers when you call so not a "local" shop, and super rude employs a one star except the owner (old owner?) Donny is a great guy. I called up, friendly as could be because I've been going there years, and the jerk on the phone starts scoffing at me when I asked about a truck on the lot (Donny fixes up old cars and trucks). This is after years ago, when they replaced an engine, I got a check engine light just a couple days later and the jerk at the front tells me I have to pay a diagnostic fee, even though they just gave me an entire new engine. Just petty stuff like that after I had spent thousands of dollars there is ridiculous. I shouldn't get better service at Auto Zone, but I did because they checked my engine light for free. Go to Hogan's and Sons instead.

Old mechanic didn t have capacity, tried these guys out. Finding a good mechanic is so important but hard. Very pleased with the quality of work done, and even more by the mechanic I spoke to about a check engine light issue. He gave me multiple options, some a few I didn t know about, and was overall very helpful and did great work. My new go-to mechanic shop. Plus they always seem to have some classic car up on the lift, which is always fun to see.

I ve been bringing ALL my vehicles here for the past four years since searching for a trustworthy, dependable, and reasonable auto shop. Ive only ever had positive experiences with each interaction. Staff is responsive, friendly and knowledgeable, and, more importantly, I m ALWAYS satisfied with their work. FIVE STARS!!!

I brought my car here several years ago after another local shop tried to convince me I needed a complete brake job. Brought it to Purcellville Tire and Auto, and they confirmed I had plenty of life left in the pads/rotors, and that they'd be fine for at least a few more years.They've been the only choice for me for tires and repairs since then. Always friendly, always honest, and usually pretty quick!

This place has been purchased by AAA. Not knowing this, I went in today because my car was having a hard time starting. The guy said it would cost 150 to diagnose the problem. I left, took it down the street to another mechanic, and he nearly immediately (in the parking lot) figured out that my floor mat was shoved under near the clutch where It couldn't completely depress to start the car. I'm not sure about the new management. I get paying technicians, but the diagnostic fee is high enough for me to go elsewhere for good.

I had issues with my car not starting occasionally and issues with my acceleration being inconsistent. My family has always used Purcellville Tire & Auto so I took it there to have them look at it. The first time they simply said the battery terminals weren t tight enough (I recently had the battery replaced). Okay fair. But later that week I was still having the same issues so I brought it back. On the drive to drop it off I had an acceleration issue in a roundabout that nearly caused a crash and resulted in me being pulled over with a warning. After a few days They said they could find no issues with it and made no attempt to further pursue the problem. After the problems returned a few days later I decided to take it to a different mechanic in town who worked with me to find and fix the issue in about two days. I m very disappointed with Purcellville tire and auto s neglect and lack of service. I will not be going back.

We came in last week to book our state inspections for 2 cars for this week. Came in today for our 8AM inspection for the first car. They didn t end up taking our car back like they said they did, and only when I asked them how much longer at 853 AM did they realized they didn t take it. Had no solutions for me. Our daughter lost over a majority of her lesson we had scheduled this morning because of their inability to be organized. They told me their only solution is for me to leave because they don t know when they ll get to it today. They let 4 people walk right in with no appointments go in front of me for their inspections. So frustrated, I asked to cancel our second appointment for tomorrow and they end up telling me they never actually booked it. As much as I want to give them our business, the disorganization and lack of accountability is awful. I m still sitting here and they just took my car now over an hour after my scheduled time. I never give negative reviews but we won t be coming back here again for any service.

Been taking my cars here for 20 years. Honest and quality work at a competitive price. I ve never felt they told me something needed fixing if it didn t -unlike other places I ve been. On the contrary they ll tell me if a repair can wait versus needing fixed now. Dave and Paula are great to talk with, and they answer all my questions. My best experience with an auto and tire business ever. The people were helpful, responsive, and worked hard to fit me into an already busy schedule to help me in an potential repair and purchase situation. They offered information, explanations, and regular updates to keep me apprised of their evaluations and then offered several price options for handling my issues. For 9 years this is where my spouse and I go for emissions and state inspections. Never been let down.The lovely lady at the counter is always polite and knowledgeable about products and procedures.If we need anything fixed to pass inspection we allow the repairs to be made there. They never over charge.They are trustworthy and dependable.We just call, before going, and get an appointment.

I would not use any other auto repair service in my area. Bottom line, I trust them. They are courteous, take care of my vehicle quickly in emergencies, never try to up sell me. They are always on top of my regular service. My 2014 Subaru has 130,000 miles and still runs like new! I have been going to Purcellville Tire & Auto for a few months and have always had a pleasant experience. Recently, my husband's check engine light came on so we took it to PT&A. They found it was the transmission and recommended a different shop because they do not specialize in transmissions and did not want to charge us to find the problem just to find they could not fix it. This saved us hundreds and I mean hundreds of dollars. We went with their advice and are glad we did. They have always been up front and honest and I do not have a single complaint against them. I would recommend them to anyone. The honesty and customer service are phenomenal. We switched to them from a different company because of the honesty and the customer service. The other company was in the business for the money and Purcellville Tire & Auto is in the business for the customer. There is a difference and you can tell. Five stars across the board for Purcellville Tire & Auto.

I had to get towed through AAA and this was the closest place so they would only tow here. Not my choice. They replaced the two busted tires with different tires than other the two. The tires they choose to use were very expensive. We did not authorize them to use this price of tire. When my husband questioned it when we picked up the car the office worker claimed they called and talked to him about this, which is a blatant lie. The only conversations we had with them were when they called to find out why are car was towed there, To check if car was done, told no due to not having the tires in stock, and then to have them call and say the car is done. At no time did mention that they needed to put on expensive Firestone brand tires. Nice way to rip people off.Service: Tires

I usually like this garage, but I was treated very poorly when I was late for an appointment. I got stuck in a nasty rain storm and ended up being late. 15 min late and they said I was beyond being helped. I loved the attitude the person directed at me as they said this. Whelp, I guess my business is going somewhere else.

Have never been disappointed bringing my '98 f150 pickup in for service. I even did some brake line work on it once and being a novice, did not tighten up one of the junctions properly and the owner found the problem and tightened up the junction and my truck then passed inspection. He did not charge extra for this. The owners attitude of friendliness permeates the workplace.They are old fashioned in the sense that they treat their customers like a good neighbor might treat you. Service is always prompt and prices are reasonable.

I have never had a reason to take it anywhere else. Friendly, professional...the way a business should be run. The Techs are thorough and leave nothing unchecked. I have taken other cars there for inspection before I buy them as well. Make sure to set an appointment and you will be taken care of

My car suffered from a whirring noise that got louder the faster I drove. When I took it in they discovered that the passenger side seat belt had lodged in the door, causing air to seep in. The door wasn't open wide enough to trigger the open door light on the dash. Who knew? Anyhow, they took the time to check for other noises and found a loose heat shield and some small branches in the rear that I had picked up on our dirt road. They charged me a modest amount for those fixes. When I left, the car was as quiet as it had been the day I bought it. As always, Purcellville Tire and Auto came through for me in record time while I waited. They are like family.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Since my 2017 Volvo is out of Warranty, not taking to dealer for service any longer. Took in for 50K service plus VA inspection. Dropped off at 8am, received call at 10:30 that service was completed. Zero stars.Went there for an inspection, they said my car failed because my rear brakes needed to be replaced and my front ones only have another 5000 miles on them. They said I could get rotors filed down and new pads the next day. I thought something didn t seem right. Have not had any indication that my brakes were bad. So I took it to another shop, they said my car passed the inspection. I asked about rear brakes they said they are fine. I asked if rotors can be filed down and they said that not possible for my type of car and whoever says they can is trying to pull a fast one on me..... Really disappointed in them.

4 hours for an emissions inspection. When I was told there were 2 vehicles in front on the phone before I dropped it off. Then in person, no mention of any delay. Don't get me wrong, they were very nice about it, but no business should waste 3 hours of a customer's life. Never again.Edit: I find your response disingenuous. At no time was I told it would take 4 hours to do the test, I even let the person on the desk know I would be waiting nearby for it to be done. When I'm told that it would take about an hour, I tend to take you at your word, if you had told me different I would have gone elsewhere. As I mentioned in my initial review, everyone was very nice, but not being apprised of a 4 hour wait time is unacceptable for any business.The only reason I used the company was because I was told an hour.

I had an inspection and brake flush done at Purcellville Auto. I had an appointment and they took my car as soon as I arrived. They finished the work very fast, much quicker than I expected. Overall a easy process and the work was done well.

Another great visit to Purcellville Tire & Auto. I like the way they take photos of the vehicle they are servicing and color code the items they looked at (green - everything is good, yellow - things to watch out for and red - things that need attention immediately).I have been bringing my vehicles to Purcellville Tire & Auto for over 15 years and I have never had a bad experience.Thank you Purcellville Tire & Auto.

Note that this is for the new location across from Giant: Brought my car in for an inspection, and they told me I needed almost $500 worth of repairs. Got a second opinion and found I just needed new brake pads. They were not happy that I had someone else check it out, but I was the 3rd person that day (that I saw) complaining about fishy stuff going on. The new location needs to work on that, and also not treating female customers so poorly. Really disappointing, since I've heard great stuff about the other location!

On time, prompt, reasonably priced service by appointment. Used Valvoline synthetic and NAPA gold oil filter, provided report on systems checked for my 2018 Subaru. Front counter staff very helpful and got my car into bay out of sun before mechanic returned from lunch to help prevent windshield crack from expanding before scheduled repair. Still had my old 2012 car in system and report had that listed with VIN rather than 2018 (error Subaru dealer also made; need to tell any shop if you have a newer car). WiFi in waiting room, COVID measures (masks worn by counter staff, big sign on door before entering, effort at social distancing in smallish waiting room/counter area; perhaps need more hand sanitizer conveniently located). Fast and friendly. Women at front counter very helpful explaining what I needed for auto registration. Inspection, oil change and tire rotation handling very quickly and pricing very competitive.
