My cat got stuck inside my vehicle due to a freak set of circumstances. I drove the car down the street to John's. John had informed me he had never seen anything like it before. With the help of his other mechanics, he was able to disassemble part of our front end to get Eve out. He even had fresh water and wet food to help calm her down. <3I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am to John and his team for rescuing Eve and treating her as if she were his own.THANK YOU JOHN!

This is my go to auto repair. John and his team are like family.I moved here recently and I don't have a lot of time on my hands. Car has been there twice and every time I feel so well communicated with. He's honest, and went have you spending money that's not worth spending.I'll continue to choose John's when mu vehicle is needing some Services: Electrical, Transmission repair

Service was great again. Most of all the owner's are HONEST! I highly recommend bringing your vehicle here. It's the only place I'll take my car to from this day forward!

I definitely would recommend John's Service Center. They are professional, courteous, polite, quick and will take care of ALL of your concerns. I also appreciate that they will check out your vehicle and call you with their findings before completing the job. Just to inform you of any other problems that you may not know your vehicle is experiencing. That's a big plus to me. They strive for excellence when repairing your vehicle. That is the reason that I travel some distance just to see them. The prices are reasonable as well. You get what you pay for people Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Wheel alignment, Oil change

Ive been using this company for about 8 years now. They are always very professional, and the repair work is usually done quickly. The price is always reasonable too. If you live in Portsmouth you can't go wrong using John's for your auto work.

Got a state inspection, by appointment. That's how most inspection stations operate. I got there early and they had my car done fast ,didn't have to wait long at all. I always get my inspection mid month.

Somehow I got my appointment days mixed up, but they were gracious and fit me in for my state inspection. Very nice people. Just wish they had some Saturday hours so I could take my car there for other services since my work hours are the same as theirs.

Fantastic visit to this shop today. I called to ask if they accepted appointments for state inspections, and the gentleman who answered (promptly) was very cordial and explained it was first come first serve except for when they have lunch from 12-1300. I got there at about 1315, waited 15 minutes or so, and they they took my vehicle to do the inspection. I waited in the office, there were seats and TV and the young woman working was very pleasant. It was efficient, fairly quick, and very professional. I will return there for my maintenance needs.

John, his wife and all his staff have always done me and my family fairly. This is a great local business. They get busy and may not always get you in and out right away, but the quality, price and honesty is totally worth it.This shop will do whatever you ask them to, but they have argued NOT adding additional work that they don't think will be worth your time and money to do. Can't think of many businesses that will actually look out for their customers wallets- John's DOES!

I took my car infor State Inspection and my car was taken in right away. I had an appointment at 11am and was back home by 11:30. Quick and courteous service. I would Highly Recommend John's to anyone !!!

Great group. Honest, fair, detailed and quick. I found my mechanic for life! My husband is sold and so am I. Thanks John!!Edit: A year later and we are still blown away at the service, honesty, follow up and follow through. John is fast, friendly and fair and doesn't charge for things you don't need. If you don't need it they'll tell you if you don't need it and that's something I really appreciate that they are there for the customer and not the money.Every time we go it's like falling in l ve all over again lol

I've been taking my cars to John's since the 80's when he was on Victory Blvd. He's the most honest mechanic I've ever met. He is ALWAYS busy and that's because a lot of others feel the same way I do. Ignore any negative comments, there's just some people you can never make happy!

I recently took my 2003 Mazda B3000 pick up to John's Sevice Center because it was running poorly. John's got it running like it should and didn't kill me on the price. I was happy that they didn't give it back with greasy hand prints everywhere like a lot of auto service centers do. I trust John and his mechanics to do a good job at a fair price and they always do. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely the best! I have a 21 year old Ford still on the road with 197,000 miles. John's is the reason this car is still going. In fifteen years this car has never seen another mechanic. I love John and his staff. They are all just "good people".

I've been going to John's for all my oil changes, regular maintenance and annual inspections for the past 2 years. They have always been honest and reliable. Recommend.

On my 2000 Ford Expedition I thought it was one thing more expensive and John corrected me onto the actual cheaper problem which they performed an alignment and installed new tires which were $100 cheaper than Firestone. Thanks John for your honest and professional work you did.

I have had a couple of times that I was unable to make the correct diagnosis on my cars. When I took them to Johns and always received a fair quote for the proper diagnosis and repairs, the repairs were usually done the same day (when I could receive the messages). That was due to where I worked not their fault. I will keep going back.

Can t say enough good things about John s!! They fixed a piece in our car with no problem & we were quoted for the same piece to be fixed at another automobile place that would have costed several hundreds of dollars! Johns has won our family over & we will be regulars!!!

They definitely go above and beyond to make sure you're taking care of. They never try to push you to get extra service. They fix whatever you've ask and that's it. I love this place.

Have been there on a number of occasions ( oil changes, state inspections, etc.). Always have had good service. Was highly recommended about 3 years ago from someone at the senior center.
