Karen was the salesperson who helped me from the moment I opened the door to enter the store not only was she pleasant but knowledgeable about her job! She asked all the right questions and she also answered all of my questions. She asked me questions that I had no clue on what the answer was, but Karen didn't allow that to stop the teachable moment she not only told me where in my car I could find the answers she showed me where inside my car the answer to her questions were. I left there as a more educated consumer thanks to Karen

Went in to pick up some 20in wiper blades. Heard some type of disturbance up at the counters. I went to go check out and apparently one of the employees had quit, she said it would be awhile to checkout. Then found out the computer systems were down and they had to hand write out my receipt. What should have been a quick in-and-out lasted over 20 minutes.

Very Rude. Called to see if they had a bulb for my headlightAsked about if they put it in and was told that it wouldn't be a problemThem when I got there was told that it was company policy not to install the bulb. I hate I try when I am told one thing when I get there! Didn't feel well so I didn't need the attitude!!!

We explained that our headlight was out so without coming out to the car they sold us the bulb for the high beam light screwed it in asked us to hit the lights then that bulb was not the one you needed. The store clerk kinda chuckled and said Sorry I can't put in the low beam it is too hard. Good Night. So 15 dollars later. He says you can keep the bulb I took out and reuse it.This location sucks.

Been using this store since it was western auto 30 years ago Karen is the best and knows her stuff.. I use several auto parts stores but advance on airline and Karen are my go to.

Rude and very incompetent cashier ...i have never felt uncomfortable or unsafe at an auto parts store in my entire life ...locked the door so i could not leave ...ask why he locked the door ...was told ..." Dont worry about it " ....just find what you want ...i asked for my money back ...i would rather go somewhere else ...for a second i was worried he was not going to unlock the so i could leave ....no way to treat customers...also ...locking people in a store is illegal .please avoid this store at alll cost

I do not like this store, I don't mind the company but this particular store erks me, every time I go here it's 10-15 minutes in line. Most of the time there's only one person at the counter. I've never seen the GM up front helping. They made a mistake one time with my sale, and demanded that I dropped what I was doing to come back and correct their mistake...

I was able to find all the parts I needed in stock here and that was definitely convienent for me being close to my house and the man working behind the counter was very friendly and helpful

Excellent service. On the, what was then, coldest day of the year, I needed a new battery. The female clerk, sold me what I needed, and came out and replaced it. Couldn't ask for better service. I've always been able to get what I needed at this location.

Their prices can be a little high compared to online retailers but they have great coupon codes and site to store ordering that makes up for it. Advance Auto is invaluable when you're car is sick and you need to be on the go in a hurry. I much prefer them over the local Auto Zone and Pep Boys.

The cashier Karen T is the worst cashier I have ever dealt with at advance auto.she has poor customer service and she di not know how to talk to her customers not handle customers problem. I was at Meineke across the street and my truck was being worked on and the part I originally brought from auto zone ( which is a very good company ) I had brought the wrong one. So I called auto zone but they didn't have the part available. So the mechanic from meineke called advance and explain what he needed and I walked across the street to get it. I told the cashier Karen T what I was there to get and I paid for it. The mechanic tried for hours to get this on my truck and it would not fit so he had to put the old back on and so I went to return it back and.when I went back she said that wasn't their part I had my receipt and the same box and part that was given too me but she wanted to stand me down its not their part.so I said maybe the wrong part was in the box from the beginning and could be the reason why it didn't work with my truck. So it took another agent to tell her to mark it defective and issue my refund after me coming up there a second time to speak with he manager who she started wasn't coming in. I had already witness the sadness of this advance with another customer that was treated badly that was sent over to get parts for her car and received the wrong parts or was missing parts and they gave her a hard time and threaten to call the police on her. We both was at the same place getting our vehicles on and trust an d believe will never come back to this location. She went to another location and she was able to get her parts changed out with no issues .so the airline Blvd location in Portsmouth VA is shady.

My visit was a life saver. After shopping, putting grocery in car, I tried to start it and nothing. I was told to go down Airline Blvd to Auto Zone. After riding for a while & not see Auto Zone I pulled into Advance Auto. A young man name Paul greeted me with enthusiasm, courtesy & well mannered. He also engaged in conversation with my 16 yr old nephew about batteries and how it works. Wonderful visit.

The service was outstanding and time time wise was so quick. The young lady who waited on me was so professional. Thanks for asking again. Don't want to keep going to the auto part but will surely go back there.

Pretty fast at getting state inspection done. But inspectors can be moody at times. A bit irritating to see car dealers pull up after you've been in line waiting and see them get brought in in front of people who've been waiting in line

Closes before the posted hours. I was working on a project and noticed I needed one exhaust adapter to finish. This is around 1840 on a Sunday. I know advance closes at 1900, so I hope in my car and run there to grab it before they close. I get there 7 minutes before 1900 and the door is locked, seems like it has been locked since 10 or 15 before, with 2 employees at the counter. They look and then continue working. I go to my car and use my phone to call them. "Hey what time to you guys close" "7pm", "Ok, why are your doors locked 7 minutes till", "We have to shut down the system", "That's BS, your hours are until 1900 and your doors should be open". I've never been to another store where they lock the door 10-15 minutes before to shutdown the system. Any place I've ever been does that after closing.

Typical advance Auto parts accept this one actually has a guy who knows parts unlike most places these days. You can also dump your old oil and borrow tools to do your job, with a deposit of course.

They are good for getting parts when you need them right now. Can find some items cheaper online. Love that theychange your wiper blades and battery for you.

Close and convenient. I just wish they would quit trying to force you to buy a more expensive part because they always are out of a less expensive one. Go figure

Well stocked, friendly staff, way overpriced. Went to get an Air Filter. Their's was $12 more than the Dealer.
