My friend went today and the worker with whitish hair in his 50 s was extremely rude and condescending to my friend who just moved from Colorado. He went on and on with the disrespect stay away.

Eric always does a great job with anything I bring to him, and does it at an affordable price and is fast and reliable. Everyone at their shop is very knowledgeable and nice, and the owner Eric has a great sense of humor. If you're looking for a place to get your car repaired and meet some nice people who will take care of you and make you feel at home, this is the place!

Eric is absolutely wonderful. He is honest, genuine, he has offered advice on cars that had nothing to do with his business, and he seriously knows what he's doing. My past experiences with mechanics have been on the negative side, leaving me dubious and feeling taken advantage of since I'm a fairly young female and don't know anything about cars. I have never felt like Eric has overcharged me, his prices are reasonable and he is happy to explain the cost of parts and show me why something needs replacement. I can't say enough great things about him.

I went in for transmission issues and they fixed the problem AND gave me a warranty. I find them to be the most HONEST repair shop I have ever dealt with and Eric is extremely nice...honest...understanding and he explained to me the things I had no clue about and as a woman I REALLY appreciate that. Repair shops can get a bad rap sometimes but this isn't one of them!!!! I am so happy i chose to get my work done there!! I would recommend this shop to ANYONE!!! They are honest and absolutely the best!!!!Service: Transmission

Eric has always taken great care of all our cars! He is very trustworthy. He will find the problem and fix it. If you think something needs to be done and he finds otherwise then he will tell you and save you money. If you want your car fixed right and not have to worry then go here!

I went there yesterday for my first time to get my husband's car inspected. Come to find out his car would not pass inspection, not because of wipers or something silly like the big name places try to tag you for, but for something serious. Eric walked me through what was wrong, quoted me a price, and was patient while I called my husband to discuss everything Eric said. We ended up doing the work that was suggested. After picking up the car, I noticed a BIG difference in the steering and driving of the car. My husband noticed the changes right away too after he drove it. Eric was honest, charged me a VERY fair amount and did EXCELLENT work! We live in Virginia Beach, but I teach in Portsmouth. I will now only bring my car to A&E when I need work done on either one of our cars! He is that good and that honest! He has made me a lifetime customer and I recommend his stop to anyone and everyone! Thank you Eric and thank you A&E!!!!

I called Eric on 1-4-21 about my sisters car and the problem I thought was going on, he agreed that he thought it was the alternator as well. I was quoted a price that was really good and brought the car in and left it to repaired. I got a call a couple hours later to tell me the car was ready. At this time Eric told me what the new price was as what we thought the problem was wasn t the cause of the issue.It was a wire problem and it was fixed and the new price was lower than the first quote. A&E unlimited is the best place to go to have your vehicles worked on here in Portsmouth Virginia , Eric is a great mechanic. he's honest hard-working and reasonable with his prices . He doesn't pull any punches he tells you the truth on what's going on with your vehicle this is the best place that I have found here in Virginia since I moved here seven years ago he's the only person I let work on my vehicles , I would recommend him to anyone here in Virginia thank you Eric for all the work you've done for my husband and I thank you for your honesty . I was so pleased to have found this shop!! My older model car had some oil, transmission and air-conditioning issues. Eric found the problems immediately and repaired. I was pleasantly surprised at what he charged for all the work that was done. I would have paid twice as much, if not more, elsewhere. I also got my "old-lady" car back in the SAME DAY, made this old lady happy.

Brought our car in on Wednesday and were told by Eric (the owner) that he would look at it Thursday, maybe Friday for an estimate. Nothing. Called and called with no answer and continued calling through Saturday. Started calling again on Monday. Finally got Eric on the phone who was annoyed we took time away from him when he s so busy to call about the car. Told us he couldn t get to it because it rained. Said he d look at it and call us back later on Monday. I came in at 11am to check so I could get back in touch with the rental company and let them know if I d need to extend the car (Eric knew this was a concern) and he told me told I m just making him take longer by asking when he will look at it. The car has now been here 5 days and nobody has even looked at it. He also said he d get to it today if he could, but might not. I asked why we were not notified of the delay, especially since he knew we had a rental. He said he s too busy to call us. He further told me that he only has two people that work here (himself and one other) while he told the other customers their car was delayed because all his mechanics kept calling out. He went on to tell me no other mechanic in town would work on the car and that we were welcome to try to take it. So we called the BMW dealer who is getting it in right away and helping with rental expenses. Sad thing is, we were sent here by a mutual friend. So I wonder how non-friendly referrals are treated. Eric did come back in to apologize for yelling at me, said he wasn t tired and snappy. I m tired too, but I can still call a customer back with a 30 second update especially if my busy day was supposedly cut short by the rain...

Recently bought a new (to me) truck and brought it into A&E for a good look over as it didn't come with much service history. Eric took care of me and pointed out everything he found as well as explained everything at the end of the inspection. I never felt like I was trying to be taken advantage of and price was great! A&E will definitely be my preferred shop for any future maintenance.

This shop is the best in Portsmouth..me being a women and clueless about cars gives most shops an advantage to over charge..Not Eric!!! He is so honest..I have never dealt with any mechanic With the integrity Eric possesses..thanks again for being soo awesome Eric..I will always get my Mechanic needs met here and will recommend A&E unlimited to all my family and friends..

I love this shop. The owner is an awesome knowledgable person about cars. He knows exactly whats up with your vehicle even if you are describing the problem he already knows it. He is also a very cool friend and very cool person and a nice guy all around! Been going here since 2008 since I moved up here.

We started taking our company vehicles to be serviced last year, and they have done an amazing job. They give you a fair price, and they stand by their work and never leave us waiting too long without our Trucks. Not only will I continue to bring my company vehicles there, I will also be bringing my personal vehicles there from now on. I Highly recommend their services!

Dropped my truck off for an oil change and state inspection. Everything was done in a timely manner and when I pick up the truck the owner even gave my dog a treat. Great service from a local business.

Excellent service with a friendly knowledgeable mechanic. Not the cleanest to notch commercial style body shop but he won't cheat you or take more than the work he's giving.

Took my Toyota Camry in and they messed up the wiring. My lights no longer light up on the interior heating/cooling panel. We had to bring back our car multiple times when we took it in for breaks and a timing belt problems. They eventually fixed it but it took multiple attempts.
