Came in for a state inspection Wednesday. Heather at the front desk was very professional and took my information quickly the waiting room was clean with plenty of seating. Montana greeted me at my vehicle professionally, and let me know he was going to perform his inspection. After the inspection Montana informed me of what I should be aware of on the vehicle for future maintenance. All in all I had a great first time experience at Pep Boys and I will be returning soon thank you Heather and Montana.

stay away. They will rip you off your money. trust me.please...look for somewhere else. some staff are nice like horace but heather, bad.service also extremely fail with very high price.To the higher ups of Pepboys company, pls check this Petersburg area. They really have bad service.Stay away while you can.

I went to this location back in November to get my company vehicle serviced, state inspection, tires rotated & oil change. When I arrived the guy there seemed nonchalant & I was the first appointment at 8 but they didn't start working on my vehicle until after 9! I left there thinking everything was done but boy was I wrong. I got home which wasn't too far & parked the vehicle. The next morning I go to start it & the low oil level light came on. At first I thought it was something wrong with the dashboard lights so I let the truck run & went to work. It took awhile to go off but came back on so I called & they told me to bring it back in. I couldn't get back that soon due to my hectic work schedule but I noticed while driving the truck was shaking & it felt like the vehicle was going to shut down. I made it to an auto zone & checked up under the hood to find out that they never changed my oil. Wow! I had to buy oil & everything to service the vehicle myself! I never went back to them because I don't trust them at all!

I dropped my vehicle off and left it overnight. Mechanic told me that there was no issues found which I knew prior to dropping it off that the struts and control Arms needed to be fixed because I previously had it diagnosed by 2 other shops which told me I needed both issues fixed but I couldn't get the work done through either of those shops because they didn't take my car shield warranty but Pep Boys did which prompted me to drop it off there. I was told twice that they could not find anything wrong with my car and was told to take it to the dealership. I knew something was going on with the suspension due to many symptoms I was experiencing in which I informed Pep Boys. I picked it up from Pep Boys on the 2nd day and immediately took it to Goodyear. Within an hour Goodyear was able to see that I needed struts and control arms. Goodyear fixed my car in one day. Pep Boys Mechanics need to be re-evaluated!!!!

Never getting another dime out of me. Dropped my car off around 8:30am. Website say they close at 7. Sign on door say they close at 6. I pull up after work to get my car at 5:30 and no one s there. No notice of closing early or anything. Highly unprofessional, was stuck there at night with no transportation because they had my car. Never Again.

Let s just say after I went here for an alignment, I had to replace the ball joint, upper control and tie Rod . It wasn t a coincidence l. I read the reviews and gave them a try anyways. Never again. Now when I mention it to people they say who goes to pep boys ? Obviously me and I m paying for it. After the alignment pep boys said my car was perfect well, explain those mechanic services I had to get after the alignment. Smh original rating 1 starEdit: 12/22/2023The manager Horace at this location is the GOAT. He saw my initial review and offered assistance to resolve my issues. We reached a common ground. 5 stars. He s definitely the Kobe Bryant on this team

I called and they told me the cost of installing tires is 17.99 per tire so I made the appointment. when I got there the guy said it was 30 dollars. Frustrating. My schedule was at 10 am. I dropped off the car and came back at 4.45 pm. The guy said they were still working on the car. He added that they were working on the car for the whole day. Overall not a good experience. I will never go there again.

Brought my 2017 dodge Ram in for inspection and tires and found my brakes were good but were getting close so I decided to get brakes and rotors as well. These guys are like a nascar pit crew , had me in and out in no time. Super nice fellas . Thanks , love my truck

Took my truck there to get all oil seals and gasket done and now my truck is making strange noises that it didn t make before. I already took it back two time . If they can t get it fix first third time I m going to dealership and want a refund

Not quite the same Pepboys experience I was used to. The repairs took 3 days total when it should have just been one, causing me to bum rides for a few days.

Did the tire realignment quickly and easily, but caused a ball joint in front suspension to break the next time I used the car. They did a bad alignment and missed worn parts causing the failure. Called and they said they d look into it and never heard back. Spent $500 to get car towed from work an hour away back to the service center.

very kind staff, as per usual, but i made an appointment for 10 am and my car didn t even make its way into the shop until one and i didn t get out of there until two. to my understanding it s because the people who came in person to book appointments had priority. i don t blame the employees there, as they were very speedy and diligent, but there should probably be some kind of system or something that allows people to see what time they will actually be able to get serviced when they re scheduling an appointment. there is no reason i should have been there for four hours for an oil change.

I came for an oil change and inquired about my air conditioning. I also brought my my windshield wiper fluid for them to put in for me however, Robert Swagger put the windshield wiper fluid where coolant goes and now my car is over heating. I was stuck in NC for about 2 hours luckily a local mechanic was able to tell me to put the water in the radiator so we could get back home. I m highly infuriated and felt like I was taken advantage of because of my knowledge about maintenance to a vehicle. I also had an appointment for 10:30am and didn t leave until 4:00 pm. My car is only 9 years old and never over heated. I come to this pep boys often and trust particular mechanics but none of the familiar faces were present. Pep boys I don t recommend for service no longer. I m really furious and now I m vehicle less until this issue is fixed. You will take full responsibility for this and are held accountable for any everything that has happened and could ve happened.

Had vehicle inspection 3wks ago failed for several reasons, took to another mechanic got ALL items on inspection failed report, go back yesterday to get re inspected, lady at front desk says "anything it fails for will need to be fixed cannot put a 2nd rejection on" strange comment but told her I have proof all items fixed. Well get a call now something not list prior has failed.....very interesting. So either a poor inspection was done prior....OR price gouging on fake repairs. Something is fishy

This is my second time getting service here, and they have been extremely helpful. So far, my tires are awesome, and I can't wait to take them on the highway. I also got the Lifetime Alignment, and I'm excited to use it in the future! My vehicle is older, so I try to get regular maintenance. I usually go to the dealership for services, but I may have a change of heart. The staff is so attentive and welcoming every time I come in with questions or concerns. Thank you for taking care of me and Phoenix (my car's name...lol)!

Simple transaction. I like that I knew cost prior. Like that I got an approx finish time. I'm happy they didnt try to hassle for up charges. Tire deal was great. Bought 3 tires get 4th free. Plus free installation. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Bobby was great. Very helpful. He went above and to assist my husband and I to get his truck back right. Even made sure services we wanted done were able to be done correctly and safely even with the modifications my husband has on his truck. We've been taking our vehicles here periodically for a little over a year and with his help the last few days we won't be taking them anywhere else now.

Don't recommend waiting inside for over an hour with the fumes. Other than that, it went well. I got my car before time was up. The technician asked questions whether the car was making any other noises or problems before they worked on it. So that I didn't come back saying I had another problem. They answered my questions and were helpful.

Started off at West Broad but my issue required a product available at the Petersburg location.Bobby was such a great help. He s a very kind man who went above and beyond to fix my vehicle and I couldn t be more grateful. Nothing but great things to say about everyone who helped with my car.

I dropped off my car for a ac repair and it s not working properly. Before my compressor went out, it was so cold in my car you had to turn it down or up the temperature. Now, it only gets cool when I m driving. When it s sitting in park, it suddenly starts to get warm. Now I have to take it to another shop to see what they did wrong

I would give this zero stars if I could. Tried to come in as a walk in after getting a previous service that did not work. They said online appointment times are incorrect and wouldn t give me an estimate of what time my car can be checked. Wonder what would have happened if I made that appointment, guess it would have been cancelled.

I arrived at 10am might not be ideal time to come in for services. It was a busy day but they took care of me when they could get to my vehicle. Thanks bobby working at front desk. Really just be patient and took about 2hours but my car was done in minutes once they could get to it. Remember there are people that get there before you and sometimes you cant really predict how long its gonna take.

Honestly this is the first time this happens to me . I left my car over night , took it so they can fix it . 24 hours passed and I see the I haven t gotten a call . I get to the place and for my surprise they didn t even move the car or checked. I ask why I m supposed to go on a field trip and I need my car fix . For my surprise I get the worst attitude from Mickey THE STORE MANAGER DO YOU WANT TO FIX , YES OR NO I told him is not the attitude he should be taking I m the customer I m paying to get my car fix . He started insulting me and honestly I felt discriminated. The worst - the name of the person is MICKEY. MICKEY THE STORE MANAGER.

Worst place ever! Made an appointment for 1 o clock today. The technician decided to go on lunch break at the time of the appointment without saying anything. We get told when they come back from lunch break we were the first car to be work on, nope they started on another vehicle canceled our appointment! DONT GO THERE! If I could leave NO STARS I WOULD

I brought my car in for an oil change, found out there was a problem from the pervious oil change(from a different place.)Mickey and his team did a great job with getting the problem fixed for me. I recommend this team and this will be my permanent place to get service.

Beware. I bought tires from them Sept 2020. 75000 mile warranty. At 39000 when I got my vehicle inspected they told me I only has 3/32 left on the tires. So naturally I call Pep Boys. They said I needed to bring in proof that I had the tires rotated and balanced regularly. I told them I did not have the proof and that wasn't what the warranty said. The manager argued with me. I then pointed out that you were supposed to be able to the tell by the wear pattern what caused the shortened life of the tire. I pointed out that if the wear pattern was even it would mean there was a problem with the tire. He continued to argue that I needed proof of balance and rotation. I asked him to show me where that was was stated in the warranty and he said it was their policy, he would look into it and get back to me. He called me back 2 days later and said he needed to look at the tires. Not a problem. I went by there, he put the car on the lift. He then called me back there to look at the tires. He said the wear pattern indicated bad struts. I was very agreeable and concurred it wasn't a failure of the tire. He then quoted me rear struts and tires to the tune of $1900.00. He printed me a quote saying the struts were normally $389.00 each but he marked them down to $250.00 each and he was going to balance and mount the tires for free. In good faith I told him go ahead and order the tires and struts. Then I began my research. The wear pattern indicated out of balance tires. My fault the tires wore out. Instead of saying that to me he decided to make money off me by gouging me for new struts. Since the part number for the strut was on the quote I found them all day long for $140.00 each to $189.00 each. I could them both for $288.00 from a reputable parts store. I also found the exact tire balance and installed with lifetime rotation and balancing for $200.00 cheaper. This manager was not honest with me.
