I spent $5000 on a transmission rebuild at aamco. It did not fix anything. Goodson took care of problem for $380. Car runs correctly. Big mistake not going to them first. HIGHLY recommend

I wish I could write a good review for this repair shop. All of the repairs seem to be functioning well. However, it took over two weeks to get my vehicle back. The first week was understandable, as we were working through diagnostics and deciding what to put money into fixing.Found this place from other people s positive reviews. Because we saw so many good reviews we went with them assuming it wouldn t take an extraordinary amount of time. The first week that it was there they were fully staffed. We agreed upon what needed to be repaired and I was told it would be done Friday. Friday came and went and I heard nothing, so I called. Oh we re sorry we didn t understand that you wanted us to go ahead and fox it, we will start repairs on Monday. You should hear something Monday. Monday came and went. Nothing. So I called again. Oh, we are down a man this week, we didn t get to it today, it should be done by Wednesday. Wednesday came and went. Nothing. So I called, we re sorry we didn t get to it today, we re down a man this week, it will be done by Friday. At this point I got frustrated and pointed out this was the third time that they had pushed my vehicle back. Friday morning I had to call to make sure they were working on my vehicle and I could get it back by the weekend. It was done at 3 on Friday. I was expecting this shop to be more professional and honest with all of the good reviews it had, but after being treated this way we won t be going back.

These are good people. I got a flat tire on 64E and my roadside service had me towed to Goodson's Auto Repair. They were busy but took my car in right away and determined I needed a new tire. They were able to get the hard to find tire overnight and got me back on the road the next morning. No games and very fair price. Fast, quality service for an oil change. They were able to get my daughter's car in within a few days when most places I called were quoting weeks out. Pleasant, smiling faces at 730 in the morning and reasonable prices. We will return.

We're new to the area, so we rely on reviews and comments in local fb groups to find services. Goodson's came highly recommended in several different discussions. We called on Monday and got an appt for Thursday to check our rear brakes, which were really bad - the vehicle was barely drivable. We got a verbal estimate of about $700 if it was the brakes. We dropped the car off Wednesday afternoon. Annette was great about following up. She called just after noon on Thursday with the diagnosis and estimate rear brakes AND rotors, calipers, and brake lines needed replacement. They quoted $1000 to do all the above. It's a 2013 Honda Pilot that has been having issues for a while, but since we'd just moved here and didn't know where to bring it we'd been putting it off - it needed the work! Annette called Friday afternoon to let us know the car wasn't going to be finished before the weekend, which was not a problem at all we told them we were in no hurry. She then called at 8:42 Monday morning to let us know it was ready. My husband (who knows how to do all of that work, but no longer has the tools or the physical ability) said they explained everything to his satisfaction and was confident with the work they did. He also said it drives like a new car again. We're extremely satisfied with Goodson's and will continue to have our vehicles repaired there. My late father was a mechanic, as is my brother, but he lives several states away. It's hard to find a good mechanic these days, so when you do, you stick with him and we will!

I brought my kia in for a a/c problem and recycling and filling up. The staff was very nice and friendly. Very reasonable pricing and great service with good staffing. Very nice services and quality too.

Terrific service oriented team. Repairs done right. Quotes and estimates better than the dealers and other stand alone repair shops. Wish I would have found them years ago.

I've used Goodson's Auto Repair a few times - simple stuff like state inspections, oil changes, serpentine belt, etc. In all cases it was easy to schedule an appointment, drop-off and pick-up. They communicate well and have always done what I needed on time and without any upselling. I can't yet speak to any difficult or complicated service needs, but everything I've experienced so far leads me to believe that they are trustworthy and reliable. I'll be quick to update this review if my opinion should change. I used Goodson's for the first time as I have heard all positive reviews. I was not disappointed. They obviously take great pride in their work by taking the time to check and recheck the repairs prior to releasing. The labor and parts cost actually is on the low side. I will continue using their services as needed.

I really appreciate Goodson's Auto Repair. I rolled into town to visit my parents at the lake before heading to the OBX for Thanksgiving. Just before leaving home, I discovered one of my lug nuts and stud had been stripped when checking one of my tires for a small leak. Even though they were busy due to the holiday week, Goodson's took care of my immediate problem and did not try to "upsell" me on additional services that I may or may not have needed. I REALLY like that in an auto repair business. Thank you so much!Service: Tires

I spent my 20's maintaining my own vehicles, and its not that I didn't trust mechanics, I just knew how they can talk nonsense to people in order to push for unnecessary work. I have had both of my cars in for various things over the last few months, and I am beyond happy with their service. Not once have I felt I was going to get talked into anything unnecessary. Great staff, very good turn around for repair work, and very honest and good people. I can drop my car off there and not really worry about getting a phonecall with repairs that come with that shocking price tag. It is truly wonderful to have such great auto repair service so close to home. I came in without an appointment. They were booked up with jobs for the next 2 days, but they made time to look at my vehicle within a half hour. Everyone was extremely friendly, the service/work was excellent and the price was right! My husband had a dual exhaust with stainless tips put on his truck. He is super happy with the results! Friendly and welcoming staff. Did not charge me a fee for a mechanic to drive the vehicle and tell me that my transmission needed to be replaced. Communicated with me through process of ordering transmission, replacing it, and vehicle being repaired. Answered all my questions. I will continue to bring my vehicle here.

Thank you for being exactly what we needed here at Lake Monticello! The price and service continue to be exceptional and the only complaint we can find is that you can't buy the neighboring property and expand to better serve the needs of the community. Wanted to give a small business a chance, and struck gold! I have a older car that does high way miles, made noises, two seconds after talking to the owner he knew. Took care of it in a great timely manner with a great quote. My car runs smooth and sound. Thank you guys, I won t go anywhere else. Crushed it. Recharged my AC for $100 and within a few hours of calling asking for same day service. Family owned and run too. My hats off to the little girl who didn t look old enough to run my credit card, but got it done like a pro.
