I've brought (6) of my cars to these guys over the years and they've saved me thousands of dollars. They've worked on BMW, Acura, Mercedes, and Audi vehicles of mine. They saved me close to $10,000 on the BMW alone over going to Checkered Flag for service. We had one issue years ago, which I felt like they handled very professionally. There's always going to be an issue at some point in a relationship and what sets people apart is how the issue is dealt with. These guys nailed it. I'll continue to bring my vehicles to these guys as long as they're in business.

Dropped of my 2011 Acura mdx for a timing belt/kit job , the drive belt and differential oil. Was done that day I picked it up the next morning. Great customer service and the price was right with a cash discount. Adam followed up with me 2 days later to make sure everything was going good with my vehicle.

Bottom line: I trust them and so should you. Been taking my cars here for three years now and they have never left me disappointed. They're professional, their prices are fair and they're honest. Case in point, I brought my car in thinking it needed struts. They tested the car and told me they didn't. A lot of places would have just happily taken my money. Customer for life. UPDATE: These guys stand behind their work, even if something goes a little off. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

Coastal Import Repair Ltd has provided exemplary customer service. In my most recent experience, Coastal identified a significant gas leak within my car. When first reviewing the issue, Coastal notified me of the possibility of a worst case scenario which would have required a great deal of labor and repair. Due to the due diligence of their trained mechanics, however, the leak was found - more easily identified and resolved than was originally expected.... thus saving me a great deal of money. This speaks volumes of the company's ethical standards and exceptional customer service. Coastal has been part of Norfolk for many years and everyone I know who has had their cars serviced by Coastal have given me great reviews. Coastal Import Repair - one of the best customer service experience I ve ever had!Some people say that 99% of auto repair shops give a bad name to 1% of amazing car repair shops.Following, see why Coastal Import Repair is that 1%.A few weeks ago, all 4 of my young son s tires and rims were stolen. He was devastated. After calling around we decided to work with Coastal.They worked not only with us, but also with our insurance company. It was the easiest, most transparent process.Adam, owner of Coastal, and Carrie provided the list of companies that sold the new tires. We had tons of options, and they patiently explained to us what we were getting for the price. They offered solutions to hopefully prevent future theft. I believe, at the end, we actually got better tires than the old ones.My son is now super happy and grateful.We, as parents, sleep much better to know, the new tires are even safer than the old ones.Coastal is my car repair shop for life, and I would recommend them to all my friends and family members. I had a great experience with Coastal Import Repair servicing my vehicle and will be using them in the future. I scheduled an oil service change and request for other maintenance items I may need in the future. My service was finished the same day and they were communicative about other items I should fix now and others that could wait. Their location was clean and well maintained. I ve had some bad experiences at shops before that caused me to mostly do any necessary car work on my own. BOLTING!!! This is an unsolicited, unabashed review. Many young people refer to their vehicles, especially the sportier varieties, as "whips." Even at age 15, my wheels are much too fast, streamlined and eye-catching for such a meager bicep-powered metaphor. I RIDE A "BOLT," like lightning! And Curtis, Adam, Carrie and the team take excellent care of my bolt. Always good customer service, and quick and thorough repair. They actually talk to me. While not yet old enough to be deemed a classic or an antique they treat my bolt like a gem. I've been going there for years now. Kudos to Coastal Import Auto!

I called coastal about my Range Rover, spent sometime on the phone with them and explained the problem with my vehicle. The owner told to to repair it the job would be $800. I took the Rover to them, spent $28 on a Uber to get back home. Called them back and they told me the Rover was sitting in the shop for a hour and the front end wouldn t drop. I told them I know that! We discussed on the phone that it won t drop I just need the strut replaced before it becomes a problem. The owner act like he don t even remember the conversation, then proceeded to tell me that the job is now $1,100 to replace the part! I asked him what happened to the $800? He said he don t know and that he was sorry about the confusion! Confusion???? Before to took it there we went over the job description completely!! I told him I will just come get it. Spent another $24.00 on Uber to pick it up!! I get there and the owner acts like it s no big deal he waisted my time. I always use abacus racing to work on my range rover, the only dreadful mistake I made was I didn t have time to take it over to them so I thought I would give these guys a try. Huge mistake!!!! I will tell you this if you only range rover, the only place to go is Abacus racing. These people at Abacus have forgotten more about fix some rain drivers that these clowns will ever learn about it.

Would definitely not recommend getting service done here. For a basic maintenance visit I was charged $400 in labor cost. In California I was charged around $200-300 in labor for the exact same service. Can't imagine the hourly rate would be that much higher in Norfolk. I had a part for the car in my backseat, I explained to them when I dropped it off that they should check if that part was okay before ordering a new one. When I picked it up they were all surprised to discover the exact part they wanted to order was sitting right there on the backseat of the car. It also took the front desk guy about 5 minutes to put the part back in, leaving me wondering why with such quick service the labor charge should be so high. I feel genuinely ripped off and I don't recommend visiting this place unless you enjoy throwing away your money.Editing to Respond to owner: At no point did I receive or was offered an estimate for services. Also I spoke to someone from you shop on the phone shortly after posting my review. They told me the rates were competitive in the area and encouraged me to call some other local mechanics. I did that and found out that your shop is charging not only a higher hourly rate but all 3 local mechanics I spoke to were confused as to how you could come up with the hours you charged for the services preformed. All of them told me I was ripped off. On top of that your shop lied to me about my car needing mileage maintenance instead of the ones the vehicle marks as due. I told you guys multiple times the service my car was due for and you kept saying it needed mileage maintenance. This is entirely false and simply looking at the manufacturer's website proves this. I admit I should've looked into this prior but I didn't expect a mechanic to so blatantly take advantage of me. I was told I would receive a call back from you guys about this but never did. I also texted one of your employees about following up on this and received no response. Looks like you would rather deal with a negative review over the internet instead of doing something to make it right with the customer. You entirely deserve this 1 star review as you are not only ripping people off, you're petty too.Services: Auto maintenance, Oil change

The receptionist is super rude! I called asking to speak to what I thought was an employee there, which, apparently he isn t. She could ve easily said I had the wrong number! But instead, she was extremely rude and sarcastic!!!!

These folks are professional and knowledgeable.Our VW was acting up and I didn t feel satisfied with the dealership. The folks at Coastal Repair took the time to diagnose the issue, explain what was happening, what options I had for repair both now and down the road. I felt respected and treated as an intelligent human being. That itself was amazing. The repair was done and for the first time in months I didn t need to take the car back weeks later. They won my family s business and a lot of good word of mouth.

Coastal recently performed the 100,000 mile service on my 2010 Lexus RX350. Before doing any work they accurately quoted the cost in advance. Because I had to travel at the last minute, they were kind enough to move my appointment up to the next day with very little notice. All work was done very professionally and on time. Staff is very pleasant and professional. They kept me advised throughout the process on when my car would be ready. An additional plus was their recommendations for wear items that should be addressed at the next service interval in addition to normal scheduled service actions. The work shop is very neat and organized. I definitely plan to have my vehicle serviced here in the future and have already recommended them to my friends.

Best automobile service I've ever received outside of a luxury car dealership. Everyone is so nice and willing to discuss how much money to invest into the vehicle, etc. Curtis and all are true professionals with a heart. Been going here for almost 2 years, since we moved to Norfolk and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!

5 Stars/Top Notch service! From the moment I walked in, the office staff were friendly and professional. Not to mention this is one of the cleanest auto repair shops I've been to besides the dealer. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of repair diagnostics and cost (BMW 535i XDrive). But, I was reassured that the technician knew exactly what the issue was, how to fix it, and at a REASONABLE cost. I was kept up-to-date on the progress, and even contacted afterwards to ensure things were running smoothly and to my satisfaction. In a service industry where women are often taken advantage of, I sincerely appreciated the care and concern. Adam was a gem, even staying 15 minutes past shop closing time to allow me time to get there from work and pick up my car. Friendly front desk, quick service and great staff. We take our vehicles here and highly recommend it. They have made an exceptional effort to get to know me and my vehicle and will actually inspect and show any part that they recommend for service. After an elusive not starting issue, they spent time on the phone with me and in the shop with the vehicle gradually eliminating options until we found the cause, rather than simply charging or quoting anything it could have been. Coastal will give you an honest take on your car.

My wife has taken her VW to Coastal Import Repairs for 10+ years. She has been extremely satisfied with the friendliness and thoroughness in addressing any issue she brought up. I recently brought my Ford Escape to Coastal Import Repair to address an electrical issue. As this was my first visit, I found the business to be very professional and thorough. Although a first time customer, Curtis made room for my issue in their schedule. The mechanic quickly diagnosed the problem and installed the required replacement part. Curtis kept me informed throughout the process. Professional mechanics and a customer-focused and friendly front office mark Coastal Import Repair as a superior business that I highly recommend.

Really happy I was able to find another shop who has a team with integrity, professionalism, and expertise! After having to move from my previous mechanic and service manager, who I trusted unquestionably, it is a relief find a new repair shop who has exceptional customer service and great communication! My issue was not a simple one- but they worked with me until it was diagnosed and resolved-they went above and beyond the call of duty! I will certainly come back to Coastal for my all my regular maintenance and repairs!

Certainly most car owners would agree a reliable and trusted mechanic can add an immeasurable amount of comfort and security.And that has been my experience with Coastal going back way over 20 years.Matthew and his crew are courteous, caring, prompt and eager to take the time needed to answer all questions.I also really appreciate the honesty of the desk and the mechanics. I'm always told what work is urgent and what is important to watch.Truly a treasure in Ghent!

The manager Curtis is great! I needed quite a bit done on my car. I asked him to inspect my car along with oil change, etc. Ended up I needed more taken care of. He worked with me and I now have a updated, safe car to drive! Am a lifetime customer.

You will not find a more reputable place than Coastal Imports! They are honest, thorough and very caring! I love coming here for my car needs because I know I'm not going ro be ripped off. If you are looking for honest mechanics that do an exceptional job this is the place! Trust me you will be thankful you did !!

My family and I have been taking our cars to Coastal Import Repairs for more than 30 years. Matthew, Curtis and the crew know their business and won't allow a car that isn't right leave their shop! They look out for their customers and when an unexpected repair is required work with you to provide detailed explanations of what needs to be repaired, the priority of the repair, as well as options on how and when the work needs to be done. They've worked on new cars, old cars and antique cars for us with a consistently high standard of performance including Volvo's, Mazda's, Honda's and others. You won't find another car repair shop in Hampton Roads with higher integrity or better workmanship. That's why they've been in business as long as they have and why they're in such great demand! They're the BEST!
