I really wanted to like this shop and put my money to a local small business. I first reached out to DTP Racing and they referred me here, I requested services for a CAM package. I paid upfront so that we could order the parts in advance (OCT 2022) so that when I brought my vehicle in, there was no wait time. I was quoted 1 month turn around on the phone once everything arrived and we scheduled a time/date for drop off (7 Dec) I just got my vehicle back (28 Jan) and the work seems fine, but getting status updates and why things were taking so long was like pulling teeth.Also, he got a flat driving my vehicle back from the tuning shop, (which i have repeatedly asked for the printouts of the tune) and I didn't know about it until I called to tell him i was coming to get it. I just would appreciate the heads up, since I did not want to leave my vehicle there any longer, i took my flat with me and send the shop an invoice for the tire/replacement.I was upfront with Steve about communication, since for me this was a lot of money to spend on something I felt I was constantly trying to get updates for.

Shop is pretty full. Help me diagnose my engine problems and unfortunately I needed a new engine which I could.not afford at the moment, I appreciate all his help and time

I couldn't recommend this business more highly. Steve was a pleasure to work with and consistently exceeded my expectations. He stayed after hours to meet me as I brought my vehicle in from out of town, went above and beyond in fixing my transmission (at a very fair and competitive price), kept me informed throughout the process, and even followed up to make sure the car made it home safely. He represents the sort of small town American business with a personal touch that hardly exists anymore. A few weeks ago, my transmission blew on the way to take my son to the doctors, and I didn t know what I was going to do. By chance, Chesapeake transmission and auto was the first place I called, and I m glad I did. Steve was able to give me a fair price to rebuild my transmission and it has been amazing. My car drives like new again. I especially appreciate how nice Steve was, and the fact that he took the time to explain to me what he did to fix my car. Most places don t give you the same courtesy. Steve is fair, honest and flexible! He has worked on both mine and my husband's vehicles. He always gives us a fair price, and honest lowdown on what NEEDS to be done, and what can maybe wait until the next visit, and he always works with us on scheduling. We don't take our vehicles anywhere else!

After visiting several shops, Steve was the only person that was able to figure out the issues with my car. He went above and beyond to fix my car and was very professional. I will definitely recommend Chesapeake Transmission and Auto and use their services in the future.

Steve is the best there is in town. Came in with my 96 Ford Explorer, just to have him look at my transmission. Needless to say, he jumped right on it and filled my transmission fluid along with tightening my transmission fluid pan bolt. Had me test drive the vehicle to see if it changed the condition on the vehicle. Although I need extensive work on the transmission, steve gave me expert advice about how to keep things in order until I can make the necessary repairs. This is the place you need to take your vehicles to have any repairs done.

Chesapeake transmission and auto is the one and only place I d recommend anyone in Hampton roads to go for there car care!! I ve had everything from breaks, to thermostat, to tires to oil changes and have nothing but praise across the board for them and the work they do!! They do it all in a timely and officiant matter and will give it to you straight. Not to mention, very good prices. Anyone who needs anything with there vehicle done, needs to speak to transmission and auto!!!

Had my car towed to the shop at noon. The problem was immediately assessed; I needed a new transmission shifter cable. The part was ordered, and the truck was fixed before 3pm! Amazing service and fair prices. You won't find a better shop!

They supposedly repaired my transmission, for $933.79I wound up having to get the transmission replaced shortly after.Replacing it at another location was cheaper than their "repair" that they did here.If it matters, I am a woman, so maybe it was just gender discrimination.
