Walked in here to pick up my father's vintage piece, that was shipped via gun shop in Pa to Bob's Gun shop in Norfolk, Va. When I arrived at the counter, I saw my delivery opened box so it could be inspected by Bob's for quality assurance by the staff. I was greeted and handled with integrity and respect. Everything went smoothly with background checks and all, which is a small extra fee, if you haven't done so beforehand when you own/ purchase a firearm of any kind in Virginia. I browsed/ meandered around while my information was being processed in order to claim my delivery. They had a wide variety of rifle cases, gun safes, gun cases, guns/rifles, some vintage most are new/er and more inside the store.

Had another amazing trip to Bob's Gun Shop today. We came nice and early to look at a compact, conceal carry weapon for self defense. The man who helped us pick it out was super helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to help me compare the two that I was torn on. And then, helped me to finalize the sale! Easy peasy! When you purchase your firearm here at Bob's, you get free range time. So, OF COURSE we had to go get some more ammo to go take the new baby out on the range.... Then finally we hit the 3rd floor to try out their brand new and improved gun range. And boy!!! What an upgrade! I love the digital assistant that is at each lane. You can custom set your distance and it go right to it- no more guessing!! We were one of the only ones using the gun range so it was nice and quiet. The range instructor, David, is what really made this trip most special. As I was learning about my new firearm, David was extremely helpful in proving me tips to improve my handling, training, and overall helped me get more comfortable with my new purchase. I couldn't be more grateful for the hour we spent with David watching over us. My husband and I had another amazing time and as always, we will be back to see Bob's Gun Shop very soon!!

Great customer service. First time shooting on the range, which was absolutely fantastic. Damion and Ian were extremely helpful and provided stellar customer service. Will certainly be returning again and highly recommend!

First time fire arm buyer here and the Staff was very welcoming. Oscar who works over the counter was very helpful and knowledgeable. I originally came to purchase a SAR9 Gen 3 pistol but unfortunately they don't have them in stock. Luckily, Oscar showed me some alternatives and I was blown away with the SIGs. Highly recommend this place especially if you're a first time buyer. I will definitely come back and probably make a special order for the SAR9 that I orginally want. The 2nd floor Staff was very nice too. They made it feel comfortable on purchasing some Ammos.

I love Bob's. Have loved Bob's since I first moved down here in December of 2021. Actually bought my first handguns from them and have spent countless hours at their range. Specifically, Daryl and the older guy who was a GM in the Navy make me feel like family every time I come in. As I've gotten more and more into the hobby, I always come by before I buy any new firearms or attachments to ask them their opinions on different things and always appreciate their views.Even if I don't always give them my business anymore they are always super friendly and as I said make me feel like family. I would highly recommend this gun shop to anyone looking to buy a gun or even just get advice and what not. Their range fees are actually a LOT cheaper than Freedom.

Although I live in Virginia Beach I came to this location today because it was the only shop in the area that had the firearm I was looking to purchase. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the awesome customer service and teamwork that was displayed. Roy, Ray and Oscar were great to work with. If I lived in Norfolk it would be the only shop I would attend.

I'm a relatively new gun owner, and went through the concealed carry class to be trained in firearms. I have used the gun range multiple times and it's a great experience every time. The staff is knowledgeable, understood that I was relatively fresh with firearms and helped me choose the correct accessories for the firearm I purchased. Jeff at the Gun Shop was friendly and informative on my options and selections.

Let me start by saying this store was highly rated.My experience was awful !!Qhen I went to purchase my firearm Charles was very helpful and assisting with the application process,They were closing but,he still took the time to help me..Awesome Job!! But,when I went back to retrieve my firearm I was told by the Young Lady I couldn t pick my firearm up because I smelled like a controlled Subsatnce I felt embarrassed and was categorized as such l!!I smoke Cigars!I called police because,That was not how to treat a client,Police called and came out and stated to me he only smell cigars and fabric softener!!My first time at this location was Horrible!!Beware not to Smoke cigars before you go (Black &Mild) they will say it smells like a controlled substance!!Never will I come here again!!

Heard some bad stuff about Bob's Gun Shop. NOT true. Had an awesome experience in each of the three floors of the building. On the 3rd floor I had an awesome time unloading over 300 rounds. The range safety guy was on point and did his job very well. The 2nd floor had everything I needed to replenish my defense ammo stock. The 1st floor folks took care of me by taking time to explain a few weapons that I was not familiar with.Overall, it was a great place. No wonder it's been around almost forever!

FFL seekers beware!!! I have been stationed in VA since 2020. I checked out of my ship on the 11th for transfer leave before completing my schools here in VA (until February 2024) and transferring ultimately to Florida. I ordered this firearm on the 5th of December and through shipping issues, it didn't arrive till the 13th. Since they had the wrong number, they didn't call me. Then they claimed since I checked out of my command on the 11th, I am no longer able to complete an ffl transfer for VA. Not only would they not give me the gun, he also claimed that he wouldn't ship it back without being reimbursed for FFL services he never performed. Would not recommend. Go to Superior Gun and Pawn... they cost more but at least they are honest!!!

Denied me purchasing a fire arm went to freedom and got my first handgun, long rifle, and AR. First time owner of a firearm? Go to freedom. They answered all my questions and didn t judge me. Unlike bobs

Where do I even start? I'll say most of the employees were kind and hospitable. It was the employees on the third floor that completely ruined my experience and made me not want to come back. Both of the employees there were condescending and curt. One of them cut me off entirely when I was asking a question. He had the nerve to say, "if you let me finish-" and then proceeded to not answer correctly because he wasn't listening to begin with. While checking out it felt like I was pulling teeth just to get decent service. They barely bothered to make eye contact. Then when I actually when to the range, the range master watched me so vigilantly that I felt uncomfortable. He stood so close behind me that I could feel his presence. I was there for 40 minutes and I swear he stood behind me for most of my time there. It was excessive. Plus, they have cameras, so why stand directly behind me like that? I wasn't doing anything wrong. It felt like he was profiling and treating me like a criminal, even though I had given no indication that I was a danger. I'll be headed to Freedom from now on. That was ridiculous. I've been to multiple ranges, and I've never been treated like that.

I walked in, pointed to the firearm i wanted, performed a functions check and filled out the paperwork and was done. This place is awesome. I bought my gun here, bought the ammo, and tested it on the range. Staff was very helpful and this place has the largest inventory near me. Definitely recommend. There's 3 floors to this place and all the staff on all floors was great.

We love to do a date night at the range. Good times and the people are very helpful in getting you setup. Also bought several guns and amo from here.

Great store. I've been going here for over ten years. I have been to stores that have racially profiled me. You definitely do not have to worry about that on this store. I've done everything in Bob's from having gunsmithing work done, to an FFL transfer. The only negative that I've seen is the back up at the range on weekends, with is pretty typical for the 757.

The employees on the first two floors were lovely. They were helpful and welcoming. The third floor, however, was not a good experience. The two men there talked to us like we were bothering them, and like we were dumb. Then the range master stood so close behind me I could practically feel his breath on the back of my neck. We gave no indication that we were problematic or incompetent. We were uncomfortable the entire time we were shooting. If you want to shoot in peace just go to Freedom.

Go To the Amory in Virginia Beach, way better customer service. If the Amory had a range I would only deal with them or any other range for that matter. I will never go to Bob's again for anything. I purchased my ammo from The Amory.It's been two years since I been to Bob's, To answer your question Mr./Mrs/Miss/Ms Owner of Bob's. I was a new owner of my first side arm, at the time I didn't know of any other places to get ammo and possibly use the range. I was totally ignored by the the cashier , I was trying to get some good suggestions on what ammo would be the best for my side arm , their was plenty of ammo on the shelves and I needed some help. Long story short, the cashier never acknowledged me, so I left without ammo and discriminated against. Hope this answers your question.

I bought my Glock 27 from here with great assistance from the sales clerks. They were friendly and informative. I came in knowing almost exactly what I wanted (choice between a .380 and a .40 Glock). With their help I came to the conclusion that the .40 was a better choice for my needs. The price was reasonable and the background check process time was also relatively quick being that I came in the late evening and was completely approved the next day before noon.My only faults with this store/facility is that their range doesn t have more eyes on it. The desk for check in is always managed by one man and the range and waiting area is always packed. I don t know how the desk attendant can ever properly observe for safety as well as attend to the folks in line. Sure he has cameras and does ensure folks walk in with eyes and ears on but that s about it. I ve been on the range and heard and seen some alarming things. Their range appears to sort of more so run off of a trust style approach. Like they assume that everyone in there is practicing proper gun safety and they let everyone govern themselves.

Good place! They have a huge selection of fire arms. Staff is very knowledgeable! Nice shooting range, good deals to consign fire arms, all in all a spectacular place to do business and fire off some rounds! :) earned my business! I'll be sure to tell everyone on my ship where to come shop.

The staff is knowledgeable and more importantly, approachable. They are not gun snobs. They genuinely care about the customer. I've bought to guns from them and will do back for more. I also appreciate the range on the third floor. Taught my 9 year old how to shoot there.

I have had probably 15 - 20 great visits, where all of my questions were answered leading me to buy 4 guns over a time period of about 2 + 1/2 years. I decided to have their gunsmith change my hand guard out because I had purchased my rifle from them and have always had great experiences. Over the phone I was given a rough estimate of 1-2 weeks considering it was about an hour long job. Once I dropped it off, I was told 2 - 2 + 1/2 weeks. With hunting season ending recently, understandable. Today I called ( 2 weeks + 3 days since the drop off) and was told it will be 4 weeks. I understand to an extent, it seems long considering the job, but again, I understand. I asked if I could come and pick up my rifle, he said that would be up to you . I went to pick up my AR and the gentleman was rude, and made it seem like I was inconveniencing him? It s just upsetting that I have given them a ton of business, and drive past Freedom to come here. I ll take the convenience and undisputed top customer service (even though they are more $$) from Freedom from here on out.

Had a 3k firearm transferred here. It was a two stamp gun. UPS delivered on a Thursday. NEVER got a call that it was received. Went in 13 days after delivery , on arrival the individual who assisted me could not find the item. Told me to come back the 2nd day when management will be there. I came back 2nd day and they could only find one of the items not the 2nd. They also threw out the shipping container box it arrived in. Contacted shipping FFL and UPS and it was not covered for the lost. I contacted the owner of Bob's and he has brushed me off for a month and will not remain at any fault , not even providing 10% of the value due to straight up negligence of the lack of chain of custody of the 2 ATF items they received. They would not show me the video evidence of his individual unboxing the item , providing undisputable evidence they did not throw away anything. I would advise any individual military , first responder to take your business elsewhere as the owner would not remotely go out of his way to make you as a customer feel wanted.

I've been shooting for years. I've been a part of the 2A community for years. Moved to the area recently and went there to try to find some ammo since I didn't bring all of mine with me. The service was terrible. Very condescending salesmen. Felt as if I was bothering them and then one gentleman literally made something up when he didn't know the answer to I asked. Planned to never return. A friend talked about how good they were so I figured I would give it another chance. Went in with the friend to see if they had a P365. Again the very same experience. No one greeted us even though we were clearly in the handgun area. Spoke to us as if we were novices and then became condescending when he figured out I was not. My friend stated he had never had that experience before. Maybe it's just me but if I'm the common denominator, I just won't return. It's a longer drive but Freedom was the exact opposite experience. Had some active military guys working and we had immediate camaraderie. It sucks because they are a 10 minute drive verses 25 minutes to freedom.

This shops customer service exceeded my expectations. I recently moved to Virginia and wanted to buy my first gun.i visited 4 shops in the area and while most were condescending and rude.Bob's was not, as soon as I walked in an employee greeted me and asked if i would like some help. After explaining that i wanted to buy my first gun. He showed me a bunch and WASN'T PUSHY. The employees made me feel comfortable instead of pressured to buy something. They explained the pros and cons of the different guns instead of trying to blow smoke at me like the other stores.I ended up with a gun I'm very happy with and will definitely be returning. Jeff and Oscar were extremely helpful Those guys were awesome and very very knowledgable.
