They did great job fixing my bumper. When I first went in for my estimate they told me they would order all the materials to fix my car and that I should hear from them from 3 to 5 days. I did not hear from them and I had to call back to get an update. They had told me that the previous owner forgot to place an order for my bumper so this delayed the process of me getting my bumper fixed, when I arrive to drop off my car, The person working, the front desk was a little rude. They kept asking me when my ride is coming and they hope that I m not staying here for the whole three hours. I had explained to them multiple times that I was just waiting for an Uber in my opinion asking a customer multiple times when they re leaving isn t really a welcoming environment where customers are going to want to enter. Keep in mind they don t have Apple Pay but overall great service for a great price.

I got caught in a flash flood in July of 2023. I had AAA tow my car to a shop close by. This place happened to be my choice. My car was dropped off after hours and I left my keys in the dropbox. I received a phone call the next day inquiring about what work that I needed. The lady I talked to on the phone told me that I needed to go through my insurance, and that they wouldn t look at the car until then. After initiating a claim with my insurance company, I followed up with the shop to get the process started. I won t go into great detail here, but I was extremely dissatisfied with the customer service I received at the shop. After that initial phone call the day after dropping the car off, the shop did not contact me one single time until the week of 10/23/23. Before that point, I only received an update when I called the shop myself.Typically, I would call my insurance company first to see if they have an update before calling the shop. Many times I would call the shop and they would tell me they were waiting for permission from the insurance company; I know that wasn t true because I had just talked to them and they had told me that they had given them permission to move forward. One instance, I called the shop to ask for an update, and the lady on the collision side told me not to call the service side and that she would call them for me because the service side manager may get frustrated with me and put my car at the back of the line.Long story short, over three months later, I finally got my car back. I would not recommend taking your car to this shop, If you want to be treated like a valued customer. Maybe the shop slow rolled the repair due to it being an insurance claim; I m not sure. I m lucky that my family was able to adjust to only having one car for three months but I m sure that won t be the case for another family. Perhaps my experience is an outlier, but nonetheless, my experience was horrible.

I ve always struggled to find a reliable, honest and communicative place to get a state inspection and oil change done. I found Bay Old Dominion at Yelp and scheduled an appointment with them. To my surprise, I found the best service l've had in years. E.T. was awesome! I was worried because my vehicle s inspection is about to expire and he told me that VA has a 4 month grace period for expired inspection stickers and even wrote it at the back of his business card just in case I have to go inside a military base. They are very accommodating! These people seem to genuinely value their costumers situation and time. I m so happy I found them.Thanks you!

I recently had my car repaired here. While the quality of their work was commendable, the communication left much to be desired. Updates were infrequent, making it challenging to track the progress of my vehicle leaving us in a rental for a month. Despite the communication issues, the final repairs were satisfactory.

I was glad I chose here over anywhere else. Took a few weeks to get my truck back but I trusted that I was going to get the best result I was proven right! Julia is great at keeping you informed on what s going on and realistic time frames. Truck came back looking like it never had damage in the first place. Had work done to car here a few months ago after some kid side swiped the entire side is my car, they were really nice and very informative during the process which is why I took so long to write this review, but the details in the quality of work is why I have to give only two stars. 1. After picking it up I had to take it back a day or so later because a part near my door was crooked and looked like it would eventually come off. (They fixed it) 2. A week after that I start hearing crazy nosie from underneath my car I pull over to find out my splash guard was hanging completely down but all the damage was done to the left side of my car so I didn't Believe this was them until I looked at the paperwork they have me that detailed all the work done and low and behold they removed and reinstalled my splash guard smh bolts were missing and from it dragging during my drive the holes where the bolts go in were completely torn so that cost me $200 to replace from the dealer still wanted to stay optimistic about this place 3. They didn't replace the weather guard that they removed from my driver door jam. 4. Most importantly was the paint job they had to paint an entire side of my vehicle and if you look at one side of my car then the other side it is night and day the side they painted had orange peel completely over it which is normal but they didn't wet sand it out or polish it out or anything so now I'm having to source a trust worthy shop to finish the job out of my own pocket... Again I'm already out 200 for the splash guard will upload photos tomorrow when theirs better light out

Top notch. I asked to have other services done, and they told me I didn't need it, saving me a bunch of money. Really honest brokers, and not the most expensive, either. Very fair and friendly team. I 100% recommend them. As a transient Navy guy, it is hard to find a new mechanic everytime I move - but these folks are great!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto A/C recharge, Oil change

Excellent customer service! I took my car in for an estimate on some minor damage. Julia and Matt gave me an honest estimate and recommendation on what they would do if it was their car. They patiently answered all of my questions, closely examined and documented the areas on my car and even provided advice on what I could fix on my own. I highly recommend them!

ETs shop took care of our family. Felt like being back at home and no bull, just honest folk here. Pricing was competitive and work was great quality with our experience. Came back for tire install after shopping around for tires that we specifically wanted for our car. (Huh-oh! Huh-oh! Girl says hi) - had to bring child a few times and they made sure she was good

Dropped my car off there and they were more than welcoming and provided amazing customer service. ET not only fixed my cars problems but also described everything and made everything very clear that way I felt comfortable getting any work done. I went in for a battery change, inspection, and a whole lot of other issues and they had me in and out in a couple days.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Highly recommended by a friend who has used them for years. I accidentally went to their building on Colley and the young man was very nice and helpful directing me to the W 40th St. location. I moved here from CA and was unfamiliar with the VA safety inspection. I went to another place first and they were full until the next afternoon, at WALK IN ONLY. I then called this shop, Bay Old Dominion and spoke with the scheduler who was very nice and fit me in for an appointment in a few days.I dropped off my car with ET and Sabrina. Both very nice. They made sure my car was done fast. I expected to wait until 3-5pm but it was done and ready by 1pm! Wow! I was super happy about that.My car checked out well and gave me the reassurance that this place is super trustworthy. A lot of places will just simply tell you something is wrong when it s not and try to get you, but this place does not do that! Rest assured that your called with be in good hands here. :)Service: General repairs & maintenance

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! These guys are great. E.T. and Jay were very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They took the time to talk with me about the issue with my vehicle and they explained to me what they would be doing to fix it. When I first took my vehicle in that morning, they said it probably wouldn't be ready until the next day because they were all booked up, but then they called me that same afternoon to tell me it was already ready for me to pick up. The price that they quoted me to begin with, before the work started was very fair and reasonable and I was happy with that. The actual price that I paid once they had finished the work was significantly LESS than the initial quote! It's clear that they value their customers and they really do everything they can to take good care of them. Outstanding customer service unlike any other shop that I've been to. Of course I hope I don't need much work done on my vehicle in the future, but if/when I do, this will be my go-to shop for sure, and I would recommend them to anybody.

Today I went to Bay Old Dominion for a state inspection. I d heard good reports about them and decided to give them a try.I m so glad I did!The inspection was completed in a little over an hour after I brought it in at 8 AM. That included installing new wiper blades (at no additional charge) that I d bought elsewhere but hadn t yet installed.E.T., the service manager, was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. After seeing him in action, I felt confident that he knew what he was doing and my car was in good hands!The waiting room in the new service center is clean and comfortable, and a perk for animal lovers across the street in a tall cell tower is an osprey nest, something I never expected to see in the city.I ll definitely return to Bay for future service, no doubt about it! Thanks E.T. and staff.

I highly recommend this place. The staff are kind, professional, knowledgeable, and legit. They don t try to scam you and are willing to help and answer any questions you may have. I'm usually so nervous taking my vehicles to auto shops because I know nothing about cars and don't want to be swindled but these guys always make me feel comfortable. They're honest and their communication is great. I've taken my vehicles to either their collision center or service center 4 or 5 times so far and have never second guessed their opinions and their prices always shock me. I've been here before and decided to get an estimate to get my motor mounts replaced - best decision ever! Both the people who take my information and the mechanics are amazing. I was able to talk to the mechanic myself and he answered my questions honestly and with precision. my car runs so much better and I feel great leaving my car with them. They showed me the old broken parts to reassure me. Everything was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will definitely be coming back with any issues I might have!Again, the receptionist, managers and mechanics are honestly what make this place as amazing as it is (:

From making the appointment to getting my inspection, the customer service was refreshingly awesome. They let me know all issues along the way and explained everything well. I plan to return if I need any additional car services.

Edit 12/22/2020: After going here after a year, service has gone really done hill and frankly I have been ripped off for the services I was asking for. May be just the experience I've had for the past couple times l, but overall I am very dissatisfied with the last service I have received. Never will I go here again and will warn others to stay away from here.They purposely let my belt loose on my alternator so that when I went to work that next day, it died because it was solely running off the battery and not charging with said belt. It was hard to see at 1st, but upon further inspection, I saw that It was indeed done on purpose. Called ET, basically said it was my problem, but to call me a liar on the phone when I wasn't in the slightest is disgusting behavior. If the manager knows he can take advantage of you, he will do it. I don't trust a single mechanic in this city, especially this one, to do any servicing to my vehicle. Please beware and be careful everyone going here or trying this place for the 1st time. Very shady stuff.Had an oil change, a/c repairs, and an ignition switch put in my civic. All are functioning and on top of that amazing customer service and very personable. Will be back for sure for anymore repairs in the future.

The business is run very well and I felt very comfortable with the service. Staff was very welcoming, great, professional, and no BS. Felt like they were not trying to squeeze every penny out of me. Overall excellent experience and will continue to come back for all my auto repair needs.

Wonderful place to bring your vehicle! The staff is friendly, incredibly fair, and the service manager is a wonderful, honest business man! I will bring my Jeep back any time, for any need. Fair prices and amazing customer service. Was prompt, stuck to initial timing estimation, and truly had my best interest (wallet and safety) in mind. Thank you so much!!!

I ve been taking my car to Bay Old Dominion for the last few years and they re always there to offer top-quality service! I ve purchased a full set of tires, had flats repaired, and get my annual inspection done here. My most recent visit was due to a nail in my tire and they were able to fit me in on a Saturday morning and had it fixed and ready to go within a few hours. ET is always friendly, honest, and there to provide details and advice about my car service. I can t recommend this place enough!

Thank you thank you thank you Bay Old Dominion for saving me thousands of dollars! I initially went in for a second opinion on a car inspection because I felt another place totally screwed me over and wanted to charge me for something I didn't think needed fixing in the first place. Not only did ET and his team see me RIGHT away, but they showed me firsthand that my car was totally fine and didn't need the stuff the other place was charging me. ET was able to have my car inspected the same day. I can't thank you guys enough! Everyone was so nice and you can tell everyone there genuinely cares about their customers. This was my first time going and definitely not my last! I already recommended this place to my friends and will continue to do so!!

Bay Old Dominion is by far the best shop in town. I've been taking my car there for 4 years and have always received outstanding service. E.T. is personable, reliable, and does everything he can to fit in last minute repairs or overdue inspections. The prices are fair and I have always gotten my car back the same day I dropped it off. As a bonus, they are dog friendly! I had my dog with me when I dropped my car off and E.T. brought him in for some belly scratches and treats. I highly recommend!

I ve gone here twice for my annual inspection. E.T. gets me scheduled within a few days of my need. They are very kind, and timely! This year I needed exhaust work in order to pass. I don t know mechanics in the area and E.T. referred me to another excellent business to get the work done right. E.T. was then able to squeeze me in 2 days later for a reinspection. I think this shop is very customer centered. Seems they realize people need their vehicles and they do the best to make sure you re back on the road.
