They are so rude I was on hold for an hour when I was trying to find out if my car was there my insurance had to get involved and called them. They were rude to her and she even said that she was on hold for a while about getting the car back. I will not be coming here again. I won t even recommend other people coming here again they need better attitudes and they need to answer their phone.

I was 3rd in line but still got out if there pretty quick. Multiple people able to inspect caters helps alot. Thanks for good fast service!

I put 1 star, because you can't put 0. we returned the car 2 weeks ago due to problems with the key. Then we were told that the car was ready the next day. As a result, they were told every day that it would be ready the next day and they would call, but they NEVER called back. Each time they told that they were ordering additional parts, even though they should have ordered all the parts after the first diagnosis. when the car was ready, they didn't even call us, we found out about it when we came to them. we paid 700 dollars. Received the car in a terrible condition. bad attitude towards customers, bad service. my experience here was terrible.

Very disorganized. I say that because it took 5.5 hrs to get my car inspected. We arrived at 10:12 am. After 1 hr I told them I'm gonna run to get coffee. ( There was no coffee in lobby) it was very cold Jan 2. My feet frozen with boots and socks. They informed my husband there were 2 cars ahead of me. After 15 min. My husband calls says where are you they're ready. Turns out 1 person cancelled. I'm 2 blocks away. I pull up as the worker is getting another car. He continues knowing I'm next, telling me to move my car out of the way. So I say to myself, well I'll wait since I wasn't there. He looks at me nastily. I wait and wait, urging my husband to find out what's happening. I see people who were there after me walking out 1 by 1. Finally 4 hrs later my SUV is getting serviced. I'm furious. I am looking through the window. I say I am never visiting this place ever ever again. To my surprise the owner heard me and asked what's wrong. I tell him and he confers with the receptionist she tells them I missed my go. I explain that others behind me were placed in front of me. They said no it wasn't. The owner Mr Baum tells me, this is 4 1/2 hrs later that I'm impatient. I should have been after the car that went before me or taken since I arrived while he was just in the moment. My husband beckons me to be calm. I walk outside in 12 degree weather to keep from going off on a nice old man (owner) who obviously has lost control of the organization of his staff and business. Another 2 ladies walks out that had arrived 3 hrs later than me with their cars completed. One was cursing due to rejection having to purchase tires. In the meantime my car is still sitting in the garage completed but can't be moved because behind my car was another car taken apart, so I had to wait while that one was put back together first. That same tall mechanic gave me the evil eye (scary, creepy) the whole time knowing my disappointment. They never apologized for putting at least 6 before me, Mr Baum Sr never asked how long I'd been waiting or checked in to see what happened, obviously I'm thinking the Rejection was because I complained, and the mechanic never spoke to my husband about the Rejection. Above all we never got an apology for the obvious horrible service we received. They ruined my day off due to negligence. They act like they're doing you a favor. Wow. Not good. I work for a transportation Dept. The director and staff tells me no you didn't go there, and shared his paint job experience. Not good. It's funny you never know who you're dealing with. Baum's need to step up there game if they want to be around for another 40 yrs.

Consumer beware!. My daughter had a state inspection done here. The vehicle had just completed a complete service done by a Dodge dealership. All recommended service was up to date. Baum Auto Repair failed the vehicle due to stating it needed new engine mounts. They were just inspected by the Dodge dealership and were serviceable. I had her take it to another location and asked to specifically inspect them as they were noted as a failure. The new inspection revealed there was no problem with the engine mounts and the vehicle passed the state inspection. Recommend you aseek an honest auto repair establishment.

I would put zero if I could, they stole my car title. One of the employees lied to me stating he was the manager when he wasn t. They kept giving me the run around trying to protect their employee. My car was in an accident and I was new to Virginia. They completely took advantage and were just terrible. Thankfully I got help from my car insurance and the police.

After talking to the lady and the guy who work in the shop office I won't be coming back here, wouldn't recommend transporters to come here either

Terrible customer service! My vehicle got towed by their towing service and I noticed a dent/huge scratch on the lower right side of the car. I notified the tow truck driver and the 'Ceo' that something needed to be done about it and neither of them wanted to take ownership of the situation and provide us with any type of information so that we can receive payment from them later on. Eventually, after calling the police they agreed to give us a contact number/ information. They are ridiculously irresponsible and should not be in service!

They're busy over here but they'll squeeze you in. I had an inspection done. Took a minute, but I have no complaints. Very strait forward

My experience here was terrible. I constantly had to ask about the update of my car only to be constantly told to wait an hour, and an hour until I was there for 6 hours only to be told that my car will be fixed the next day and on top of that I was charged per hour for something they did not communicate. Actually they only communicated that they charged for a diagnostic meaning to find out the problem on the car, but I somehow got charged per hour. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Parking is awful! I almost received parking ticket bringing my vehicle for repair. Great Customer Service lady ... pretty too. Repair service was okay. Appt was made 2 days prior and vehicle was brought in early in the morning, all to call for status and be told my vehicle wouldn't be ready til following afternoon ... UGH! Only reason for 3 stars

I've been going to Baum's since the 90s. Baum Sr would call me back into the garage and show me why I was going through so many tires. Since then they have been my first call. Decent prices and friendly staff.

UPDATE 2020. So this place is a total rip off!! Every year for the past 4 years they failed my truck for the same part. So I let them change the part 2 years ago and now they say the part is bad again. Now either I have the worse luck in the world or they are ripping people off!! I don't recommend this place to anyone!! I won't let them do a oil change. The worst inspection experience I have ever had. I tried to support a close local business and have been burned 4 years in a row. Thanks for the horrible business.

I took my car in for an inspection and they failed me said I had a broken rear motor mount then asked me if i wanted an estimate to have it repaired. I told them no do to the fact that i grew up working on cars an could replace it myself. I ordered the part and after it came in I went to replace it only to find out that it was not broken in fact it was in really good condition!! Took my car to a different shop and it passed the inspection no problem. These are people who pray on people who don't know about cars just to make an extra dollar that is very shady!!!! I do not and will not recommend anyone to go to them and have already sent an email to remove them from being able to do inspections anymore. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

I've been waiting on a car part to come on a vehicle purchased ...since last Friday . First story was" the part came in" but its going to take couple hours to install....then I heard before I could get there "it came but its the wrong part" ...then today I heard "it never been ordered" 3 different people and 3 different stories. You call and wont get an answer most times and box stays to full to leave a message. A car dealer recommended them but so far its been horrible service. I am shopping around for another place to install this part. Its been truly Ridiculous.

They are legit. Some folks don't like them and find fault but I haven't had an issue that they didn't make right. I trust them and been going to them for years. Prior to that ALL of my lil mechanics got fired quit on me or just wasn't reliable. Baum's is still standing and have a tow truck so umma keep messing with them.

please do not go there. horrible horrible service.lady at front desk omg dropped my car off left it for a week didnt get a call not once. i go get my car towed it some were else and they asking for 100$ 4 looking at the carr but never call me to tell me whats was wrong. never look at it was in same spot i was driving all that week waiting to see if the moved it wasnt touch

A co-worker recommended Baum's to me. I had needed an inspection to be done on my vehicle. So I called and they got me in that day. I'm satisfied with their service. Yes I'd commend them to my family and friends.

On December 20,2017 Baum's service center failed my family. They did not come to tow my car as promised. They have a contact with the city of Norfolk for towing. Greed motivates them rather than good customer service. They cost my wife days of travel to another state. Our vehicle was not ready when promised. My wife was stranded pretty much through the Christmas Holiday. Her projected travel date was December 23,2017. Baum's promised work would be completed December 22,2017 at 2p.m.They did not keep their word and was unprofessional about communicating delays.We know this is a family business, however they are not dedicated to excellent customer service. Only completed work on my vehicle when my wife sat in their shop from 10:30a.m.-3:30p.m. Very poor customer service. Not to mention they kept racking up charges.Patronize another establishment.

Had an accident so my car had to be towed. While grabbing my personal effects the father of the owner (Alvin) assured me that all of my things would be in my vehicle when I returned at a later date to pick up the rest of my things and that it would be moved to a "secure" location. A day after getting out of the hospital I went to take the rest of my stuff out of my car and noticed that several items were missing such as my: Dash Mount + charging cable, Steering wheel cover, Aaliyah CD, several Little Tree air fresheners, glade car vent air freshener, and about $5 worth of quarters. TRASH SERVICE and even worse personnel. I HIGHLY recommend finding another more reputable establishment for any towing/car services because these THIEVES will take anything that isn't nailed down!

All I can say is THANK YOU GUYS ! for the awesome customer service and work. I got my nissan altima painted here and the aftermath was so amazing. I also needed my bumper replaced and dents pulled do to an accident. My car is back looking like new. Thumbs up!

Failed the brand new brake pads I just installed for being "worn". Credit card machine "was down" and forced me to walk several blocks to get cash to pay for falsely failed inspection. Sketchy place - definitely go elsewhere.

Have been taking my cars there for many years with consistently good results. Fair prices and courteous staff. Went to get vehicle inspected, the wait wasn't long at all customer service was great, overall car service was great as well, I've been going there for the pass 3 years and I love it and I recommend my friends to go there as well, keep up the great work Baum's

I felt like a spoiledkid getting upset due to failed inspection on 94 jeep, but after getting home and verifying every all noted fixes were in fact accurate. I would not have know about the exhaust leak if it wasn't for the experienced technician. Thank u Baums I'll be back in a few days for reinspection.

This place is a joke. Ghetto.A big waste of time. You better off at speedy auto. I waited 3 hours just to find out they was skipping me for some unknow reason. The people there was rude and unhelpful. Speedy auto fast and better service. Never again.
