I've been dealing with Terry's for a few years. I bought a Nissan & a few months after I got it the Airbag light came on. I took back to dealer & they were trying to get me to pay $2000 but I didn't go for it. Terry's fixed the problem for way less. They are the only ones allowed to touch my car. Great customer service. Love the stories we tell each other. Please try them out. Won't stir you wrong & you get quality service. Thanks guys

Terry's transmission is always personable,helpful, and timely. My truck is running great and has been inspected. They also make referrals if they don't do the type of work you need. Best price-best place!

I have been going to Terrys for almost 6 years and continue to drive an hour to his shop because I know he s honest and reliable. Bob s staff is very knowledgeable and always takes care of my Nissan for a reasonable price. They have gone out of their way to get parts for my car at a much lower price and always under warranty. They always manage a way to get my car in for a last minute state inspection. Bob and Rob are great guys and highly recommend them.

This establishment is the best mechanics shop I've been to over the years. The staff is very friendly, and dependable. They are family oriented and work together. I have taken my vehicles there for over 3 years and never overprice. The prices are very reasonable. Their mechanics are very knowledgeable about cars, and I trust them with mines. I Also tell my family and friends to take their vehicle there also. Try them, after you talk to them, they will make you feel comfortable and show you your vehicle is in good hands.

Recently we had a company van need a new transmission. As the office manager I handle all the communication and am located in South Carolina. We contacted Terry's off of a recommendation and from the beginning to the end of process everything was amazing!! Bob was so kind and professional and truly had our best interest in mind the entire time. The local dealer was looking to charge double for the same thing, and Bob made sure we got the best for much less!!! I would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone!! Thank you! Thank you! Most Trustworthy and Competent auto shop in the area. I have been taking my cars to Terry s for a few years now. They have performed timing belt replacements, brakes and rotors, fixed suspension issues, and diagnosed engine faults. Each time the work was performed in a professional manner, at a reasonable price, and with excellent results. On more than one occasion, I have seen Bob tell a customer that they don t need the extent of work they came in asking for. Not only is he not up-selling, he is only performing the work necessary. You don t see that happen in many auto shops. I don t write many reviews, but I am confident in sending friends to see Bob and Rob at Terry s Transmission and Auto Repair.

I have been using Terry's exclusively for my auto repair for several years. Bob and his crew have always been professional, courteous and efficient. Theie prices are very fair. I would recommend them to anyone for great service.

by the grace of god and the thanks to god that i found this place. when i tell you that i been searching for a great mechanic with decent prices they all was trying to high ball me. i have a altima and my transmission went out and it was sitting for awhile. i came across terry transmission. and i am go grateful that i did. bob and his son along with his employee they were the best. bob assisting me i told him what was going on with my car. he got me in with a flash with great i mean great customer service. he was very informative and he got my car back up and running. he also was so helpful and proud in his work that his team do , he want to double check his work. what shop tells you to bring it back so they can make sure it up to standands -no shop does. but terry do. his spirit spoke to me and he a great overall guy and the best in fixing cars especially those over price jobs. he didnt try to take advantage of me. the price he gave me cant nobody beat them in the 757 area. with warrenty and unlimited mileage what- say what . yeah . he the the best in town. go check him out he will not disappoint you and his prices is very fair i mean very fair. thank you bob and your team .

My car began shutting off as I was exiting the interstate to Newport News. I practically broke down in the parking lot of this place and would have been stuck if they had turned me away. Bob, the owner, assured me I had rolled right into the right place. They made me feel at home and got to work immediately diagnosing my vehicle. They offered me a great price and had my car fixed within a few hours. I got there feeling truly defeated and left feeling so blessed that I made it to these people!!Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

Greatful for a customer appreciation bottle of wine this Christmas season. As a busy Hampton Roads Realtor time is money as they say, so it s great to get my vehicle back quickly when it s in the repair shop!! The owners at locally owned Terry s will diagnose any auto repair or transmission issue. We ve had Rob (co-owner/lead mechanic, order/install a refurbished transmission for our Mazda CX9, and the shop has also worked on my mini van & a family members F150 Truck. You ll find honest assessments, knowledgeable mechanics, clear communications, and quality workmanship.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced honest mechanic go talk to Bob the owner. They put in a used transmission with 6 month warranty and spent about a month messing with it various leaks from orings, transfer case, and gaskets. It was a problematic used transmission not their fault yet they honored the warranty and I'm sure if anything else happens in the next 5 months they will as well

Very disrespectful! Would not tell me the source that he planned on getting my replacement engine from. I "planned" on spending upwards of $6,000 at his shop but because of his disrespectful nature I'm choosing to go elsewhere for my new engine. revealing where or what sorce you get your engines is NOT disrespectful one single bit. How do I know that that company you sorce your engines from is reputable unless I,as a consumer, do the checks myself? According to you I'm just to take the bill regardless of the cost. I think not! I like to shop around and I'll go to a shop with the best price. I'm simply trying to take 2 or three bills for repair and combine them to make it SIMPLER for me, being the consumer.

BrandieThese are the best mechanics in town. I m a woman that doesn t know much about cars . I took my car to them and they explained what was going on so that I would understand the problem. Told me that I needed to replace my fuel pump and alternator after saying that those are things that have already been replaced in my car within the last year they said well clearly they're faulty believe them because I'm an idiot.After over a month of repairs where nothing was fixed came over to pick up my car claim that they didn't have a bill despite the fact that they said it would be picked up available today and then finally went to pick up my car and it was completely totaled and Wouldn't run.Tlrd: came over there with a functional car that just took a little bit too long to start left after a month of working on it where they kept saying it would be done super soon I promised with a car that needed to be towed home

I was recommended to Terry's Transmission Shop by a Lyft driver. He told me their shop would be totally honest about the repairs to my vehicle, and he was right! Mr. Bob told me straight up that I needed a motor for my car, and to start looking for another car. I greatly appreciate Mr. Bob's honesty. I would highly recommend Terry's Transmission & Auto Repair Shop!

Great first experience with these guys. Took my truck in because the transmission was slipping and they got it right in for a diagnostic. They told me the issue and got it fixed and back on the road in a day. Great customer service and friendly environment. Thank you

Last August, I was in the area for a military reunion. My 2011 Toyota Corolla had an issue upon arrival necessitating replacement of the transmission. After having gotten a major runaround from a dealership in the area, I found the phone number for Terry s and gave them a call. I can t say enough about Bob and his son, Rob! Their customer service was above and beyond and brought a level of comfort when I was over 200 miles away from home. I am so grateful to have run into a business with such integrity at a difficult time. I can t recommend this business enough!Service: Transmission

Staff is personable and made a comfortable environment while I waited to find out what was wrong with my car and again when I brought my car back for a checkup to make sure all was well with the work performed! They were straight forward, efficient, always available to answer any questions I might have and finished the work within the time frame originally quoted. It s an honest business for anyone looking for a mechanic, I know I won t be going anywhere else going forward! Terry's turned their back on me when the remanufactured transmission they installed failed under warranty. Gladly took my $5000 to install the transmission but kept me hanging for three days with the vehicle in their shop after the breakdown before kicking me to the curb and saying take it up with the dealership. They would not discuss with me those three days other than to say there was a process.

Bob and Rob and the rest of the crew here are the best! They installed a replacement engine in my 2006 mustang and they didn t give up until it was 100%. It s rare to find a company who does what they say they are going to do but these guys do! Bob kept me updated through the whole process and was always super friendly. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

My truck is having transmission issues and they made time to look at it the next day. As it turns out, they are pretty sure something is wrong internal to the transmission and they do not do internal transmission work on the type which is in my truck, but they referred me to someone who does. Good customer service.

Bob and Rob run an excellent business. They are the top transmission shop in the area. They are straight forward and don t beat around the bush. They tell you what s wrong and they fix it right. I take my car there for all my service needs. If they can t do it they will put you in touch with someone who can.I have had transmissions put in both of my vehicles and they run fantastic. They also service them and keep them running great. I tell anyone who needs work done on their transmission to call them first. They are simply the best!
