The Pep Boys staff worked with me to complete the required maintenance for my 2014 Ford Explorer. I was presented with the cost prior to service and updates as needed. The work was completed and appears to be working great. Every now and then you have to invest in your transprotation to keep them running properly and comfortably.

Very friendly front staff. Leonard was very nice and answered all my questions about my oil change and lifetime front end alignment. My service was quick about an hour and fifteen minutes.

These people took my car in for a safety inspection at 8:05 am and had 4 inspections in front of me .. hey exclaimed that there was some concern that they might have some trouble getting to me today.. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking how long could 4 inspections take ? I was called 8 hours later and told they couldn t get to me, and I would need to bring it back 3 days from today ! I am severely disappointed. I worked for this company 35 years ago and I See the level of service has diminished :( #not coming back !!

Took my car in for a state safety inspection at 10am on Sunday. The guy at the front desk told me that they only take a certain number of inspections a day, but that I could leave it there and it would be done by 5pm. He calls me at 4pm saying that they didn t get to my car today but they could take it first thing in the morning. When I asked why it didn t get done today he said that they only have 1 guy doing inspections and they had to do their appointments first, and that they also usually only do state inspections Monday-Saturday. I was not told that there was a possibility that it wouldn t get done today, and I think that if they knew they were that short staffed then they shouldn t have had me leave my car there in the first place. They had my car for 6 hours and didn t even get around to it, and I honestly wouldn t have been mad if they had just told me they didn t have any availability that day to do an inspection when I first walked in in the morning. I completely understand and empathize about short staffing, but they shouldn t have taken my car in and told me it would be done by 5. The man was very nice, but I don t think he should have told me it would get done if he knew how short staffed they were and if they don t even do state inspections on Sundays.

The customer service team running the office here were amazing! Great attitudes, helpful and courteous. After having a bad blowout driving on the interstate, they were able to fit me in with new tires within an hour! Couldn't be happier with the service.

This was the worse experience EVER! Customer Service was horrible! Dropped my car off on Monday at 8AM to have the latch fixed on my trunk, while there I also got an oil change. They told me that they would call me to let me know after the diagnostic on my car (Dont know why I needed a diagnostic as it was the latch on my car). Since I didn't get a call, at 4:30PM I called Pep Boys and they told me that the oil change was done, but when I asked about the latch (they had no idea what I was talking about). They apologized for not calling me but couldn't get to it today. I had to rent a car as the part wouldn't be ready for 2 days. I spoke to Brian Albert (GM) and he assured me that it would be fixed. Then I go to pick up the car and when I tried to open the trunk, it did not open. The people at the front said they dont know why it didn t work, so I had to leave with my unfixed car!!!! I will call the general manager again today!!!! I've already paid $850. for this and now its even more ridiculous!!!!

Very nice people. Pretty fast service depending on how busy they are. Though I want to see more "proof" from diagnostics when recommending major repairs (i.e., engine replacement)

My experience with pep boys and getting my hair in my car inspected was very poor business. I had to take my car there three times before they put in a sticker on my car stuff they missed the first time I took it there for inspection they just gave me the run around I think it was because of them fixing it and me not getting it done there I think that was the reason but really it was just for business with that boys have a good day.

Had a appt for 9am on a Sunday. Arrived early at the Newport News pep boys gave the guy behind counter my keys and went in waiting room. A women came in behind me wanting a oil change didnt think anything about it so i was waiting and about a hour later i walked outside to see my vehicle still sitting in parking lot. I went back in and asked the guy why my truck was still sitting yhere his response was that he only had i tech . Well i hhad a appt so why was the oil chamge getting done before mine. No answer. Told him to give me my keys and i left. The person behind counter did not care at all. Stay far away from Newport news pepboy

2nd time coming here. Will be the last. Both experiences have been miserable. I usually do my own oil changes but because I'm using a fleet rental, it has to come to Pep Boys. First oil change took 4 hours. I watched multiple customers come in after and have more extensive work done. Second time which is happening now, writing while I wait. The car sat on the lift for 1.5 hours. I go to Collena, the service manager, after being here for 2.45 hours and ask for a status. Nate then tells Collena "oh, that car needs a new drain plug." Now Collena is calling stores trying to find a plug. No communication between the two so this process could have started sooner. Come to find out that the tech, Dillon just decided to take lunch and leave the car in the air. For the life of me I can't understand why people would actually bring their car here. Oh well, hope this helps someone.

The Pep Boys service staff team, and especially Colleena, were very professional, caring, cordial, courteous, helpful, and respectful. I truly appreciate the way that they treated me during my vehicle's state inspection and subsequent maintenance service repairs that were needed to pass the state inspection. They are very good, caring, customer friendly people, and it was a real pleasurable experience for me working with them in taking care of my car needs.

I don't even know where to begin, but this place is the worst place I have ever had auto services. They made my vehicle to fail inspection, gave me a false diagnosis, and a lot other recommendations just to get money out of me. Zero recommendation!

Made an appointment for brake fluid exchange at 0800 on a Saturday, and it was taken back on-time and completed within the hour. The website didn't appropriately line up with what I wanted (I selected brake fluid exchange, but after clicking it, the website populated with A/T services), but the staff there was able to rectify it after checking in for the appointment.Clean facilities, coffee is offered, and there's also a smaller/private-ish waiting room where I was able to plug in my laptop and get some work done. They're quick about calling you too when the service is completed.

Assistance Manager was by herself to check in customers and handle all phones. She is amazing at her job. She really needs a raise and to be highly praised. She is quite the asset to the company.They did an amazing job replacing my tires. I had an appt. They got the job done in a timely manner

I went here to get 2 new tires for my car, which they did and it was done when they said it would be.However, they also said I needed new brakes and that they were all metal on metal. I told them not to fix it and stoped by a parts store on my way home and grabbed what I needed to fix it myself. When I pulled the tire off my brakes and rotors where fine and not even close to needing to be replaced. I don't know if it was incompetence or malicious but I will not be going back. Picture comparing the pad I took off and a new one.

3 issues. 1st....took 3 hours to put a set of tires on. 2nd....was charged more at the store than what I signed online for. 3rd....scuffed all my rims after putting the tires on.

I could do my appointment online without any complications and they were attentive and explained about the costs of any repairs that my car requires in case I decide to do it or not and I really appreciate that. I will back there.

I went to pep boys for their state inspection service. They told me I'd be first in the morning after I dropped my car off the previous evening. It took two days to get my car back. I failed the inspection for a few small things and when my wife went to get it they ran her around in circles with complicated mechanic talk that she didn't understand trying to get her to pay $350 for fixes I did at home for $30. I appreciate the service completed on my vehicle, but please stop trying to take advantage of people who don't understand everything about cars. It's disgusting.

I had a 4pm appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. It s now 4:58 and my car still hasn t been brought into a bay. A worker is standing outside with my keys and was just about to grab my car, but instead spent 15 minutes talking to a customer whos apparently friend as I sat there and waited. No sense of urgency to get the customer out the door in a timely manner and with an appointment, it s quite frankly unacceptable.So I drove 10 minutes down the road, it s currently 5:11pm , and I m sitting in a bay at take 5 getting an oil change as I typed this, and saved $10!

I took my car there to get my a/c and my a/c display fixed. The wiring connected to my a/c display didn t work along with my a/c in general. I dropped it off on a Friday. Told it would be ready Monday but the part didn t come in until Tuesday. Technician that was supposed to fix my car was off on that Tuesday and Wednesday so it didn t end up getting fixed until Thursday. When I picked it up I was already compensated (service was free) and I got in my car my a/c display or my a/c wasn t fixed. When I asked about it they basically told me and showed me that the part they ordered was only my a/c display but didn t solve the root of the problem which was the wiring and the a/c being broken. They only tried to fix the display and not the a/c in general and told me they didn t have the resources to fix it and wasted 7 days of my time and I didn t have reliable transportation for those days either.

I have been going here for yearssss. Got my state inspection done today. Check in was smooth and friendly. I asked for an estimate on how long it would take and was told there is no guaranteed time frame. Understandable. Called to check on my car later in the day, but no one picked up. Called later only to be told that my car was ready and they were closing early. Nate was nice and waited for me.Just be aware they are short staffed. I usually see more bays used, but this time not so many and the parking lot was pretty full. This may definitely test your patience... lol... so just a head's up.I used to make an appointment thru their website, but it's not absolute. Be sure to call ahead.

I had new tires put on and an alignment done on a day that there was only 1 guy doing all of that and he still finished my car in a timely manner. Everyone I encountered there was so friendly and professional. I was very pleased with the service.

Got to my appointment on time. I have quickly realized that I accidentally booked at the wrong Pep boys. However, they were very accommodating and letting me know that information and checking with the mechanic to see if they could get me in. They were able to get me in within a matter of minutes. I was so relieved. The place was cleaning the waiting room with the couch and TV and table was very comfortable. I was able to bring a tote bag iPad, my coffee, and everything that I needed to get done while I waited. I was there about two hours. I got an oil change. I also purchased a air filter prior to coming so they did that. I love the fact that they give you text along service needs that you may have they even send you videos telling you, what is all about and why it s important. They told me that I needed a cabin filter and I know that all the years that I ve had a car I never ever changed it so I definitely told him to take care of that instead of the man going ahead to do that he came into the waiting room letting me know how much the total would be prior to it, so I definitely appreciated that everyone was so pleasant. The bathrooms were clean and I did not mind waiting at all that time flew by really fast am I experience was very pleasant drive in my car that day and the days after made me feel very confident that everything was done, right and that my car was taken care of. I m glad I made the choice to go. Also he did show me my old cabin filter. It were super super dirty with the leaves and debris in it. No surprise there. I will be going back. Oh I did purchase my oil am I oil filter in advance so that I will save money I only had to pay them $26 for that part . This was the Pep Boys on Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA.

8 hours to a 30 minute state inspection. Then get charged $80 for fog lights that aren't even on the checklist, then $20 per side light that wasn't amber, side light, not perimeter light. I get paying for parts. But that's just the labor cost, not including parts. Their garage wasn't full. They could have just took 15 minutes to look at it and tell what need fixing at 0830am, and not at 1530pm. i could have done the work myself for 20 bucks. not 150. never going to pep boys again. total garbage mechanics. People at the from desk were great, polite, professional. However it seems that the mechanics are either lazy or aren't honest about their work or both. They charged someone for a battery that he didn't even get and an alternator he didn't need; they fixed it after it was caught; but still. You're supposed to be able to trust your mechanic shop. If I was told 8 hours originally, i wouldn't have done business. I was told a couple of hours, which means 2, a few means three, 8 hours is ridiculous. If you don't have the time for business, just be straight up honest about it. Time is valuable. I won't have anything done here again if i don't have to. Autozone next door is great, btw. I really want to give this one zero stars. But the people at the desk were cool.

I am happy will the work and the professionalism of the staff. A promised 30 minutes job took 2 1/2 hours to complete because a car for a walk in customer with the same problem was taken in before my car. It would have been ok if they would have ask and informed me what was going on instead of trying to hide what they did.

The customer service at this, Pep Boys has always been outstanding to the point that I have moved to a different city and I still come there for my safety inspections and repairs. Keep up the good work.
