I dropped a head off on December 1st. They never called to give me an estimate. When I called I got an answering machine. I drove there and they tell me it'll be ready in 3 days for $600. 3 days later they say it's done. I go there and it's not ready. 2 days later I pick it up and it's a box of parts they want me to put together. I try and it's missing pieces. I had to go back and demand that they find the parts and put it together. Finally got it back December 21st. Don't waste your time and money.

From my initial phone call to the completion of my motor I was completely impressed. I have been building motors for 40 years prior to moving here and Gary and the Dunkum shop was outstanding. I would not only recommend them but would absolutely go there on every project. Thank you

My mechanic took my daughter engine to this establishment on June 6th and we have had to call multiple times actually too many!!! To get the engine back and it is STILL not fixed.Do not use this place and since you think this irate black woman has no right to be upset CONSIDERING YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN PAID!!!!

My daughter's car started smoking and just happen to be near this establishment. She went in and they assisted her immediately. I'm in Japan so I can't be there for her. I'm happy to say that she's off and running thanks to Dunum's. We'll be back.Service: Vehicle maintenanceService: Vehicle maintenance

I want to give my humble apologies to all the people that has had a raw deal with Dunkum's, I guess I did not have ideal people in place at the time, I had a lazy counter person that could not even get off his stool to greet people. I was warned by some of my good customers that he was not treating people kind, and a real nasty disposition on the telephone.To the guy that was told that we did not work on Honda's, I am sorry, we do and I want you back. The business was sold in 2015, and the owners had a year of backlog that I had taken care of in 6 weeks. They were so overwhelmed with so much work that they could not function. I guess that I sold it to the wrong people. Today we have a vibrant work force, with a can do attitude, and everyone knows that if we do a job wrong, I will go out of my way to make it right.I have been here since April of 2016. To the guy that had his cylinders bored different sizes, I'm going to chalk that one up to inexperienced operator, and if it was to be done on my watch,I would have replaced the block or bored to the next size, on me. I have had a business on the Peninsula for over 40 years, and you do not do that by making your customers unhappy.

Brought my 1993 Honda Civic there in December 2018 for them to pull my motor for a build (bore, hone, rods, pistons, crank, cam, etc.) Upfront, I paid $800 and then soon after, he told me I had to pay the rest ($4300 total). Stupid me... I did. Within the first month, the motor was pulled, but 7 months later, the car hadn't been touched since. I had been going up there every week to discuss what was going on and excuses were made every time on why nothing had been done as there are 9 other vehicles in the back that hadn't been touched as well. July 2019, I said that I was coming to get my motor to take to a different shop so I did, a week later I came up there and asked when I was going to reimbursed for the work that I had paid for, but hadn't been done. He said "I can't even afford to pay the bills for the shop". I told him, I'd give him a few days to get my money before it becomes a problem and I have yet to hear anything back. This is beyond unprofessional and shouldn't even be a business.

The did the worst job I have ever seen. They totally ruined my engine block. First off I told them I wanted it cleaned, bored 30 over, and new freeze plugs no cam bearings (had to clearance the block for a stroker kit) they bored it, put cam bearings in, and didnt touch the freeze plugs. Then they honed the cam bearings. Who does that? And for those who don't know that is not common practice if you see it done run the other way. Then I took the block to another shop and they checked the bore. One was .32 over, one was .35 over. So on and so forth. (They all should have been .31/.32 max). So I went back with the recipe and the denied everything, would not stand behind their work, and the manager I talked to before told me the manager was on vacation. Bottom line the worst shop around, go to airodine, dougs, apple, even craft but whatever you do flip dunkums the bird and honk so they see you if you ever drive by the place

Honest, quick turn around and affordable. Thank you all so much. We were referred by a corworker. But of course I google review first. It was the feedback Gary left that made us take the leap and trust this shop. Thank you guys so much.

Will not service Honda motors. They stated "If it's not a 45� motor we can't do it. Go somewhere over in Norfolk and find a place." The person that told me this over the phone was rude and ignorant. Go somewhere else and spend your hard earned money people as this shop suggested, I know I will.

Called to get Quote on a wheel bearing being pressed out and in. Was told he didn t hav anyone but would be 80 for him if he could. Over priced and rude will never bring anything to shop

Amazing. I bought a knuckle online and when it came, the strut holes were too small. Dunkum enlarged the holes for me and now everything is working perfectly.
