I m not usually the type of person who posts reviews but this is the exception.First of all I d like to state that I received great customer service from here which is why I didn t give one star.I brought my Camaro in to my 8am appointment here to get the starter replaced and received the call at 1:21pm to come get it. After paying $475 for the job I thanked the staff for their hospitality and went around back to go start my car and when I did I heard what sounded like a metallic screech and immediately knew the replacement part was bad. I went back in and told them this and they were nice and confirmed that the part wasn t right and told me that they d order a new one and were even nice enough to give me a ride home and pick me up when it was ready.After coming back around 4pm the new part was installed correctly and sounded good so I drove home. After getting home I popped the hood to double check that everything was tight and looked good and discovered a mechanics rag which I pulled out.Again I d like to reiterate that Bill Smiths Auto had phenomenal customer service and hospitality, they took accountability for their mistakes and apologized, but when I pay $475 for a repair I expect better than a tech knowingly passing my car off knowing that it sounded terrible when starting and also leaving a rag in my engine bay. I hope that in the future the techs take more pride in their work and represent this establishments high standards.Update: It s a day later (March 23rd) and the new starter failed and my car is worse than when I brought it into the shop and isn t starting at all.

I had been fighting my 98 accord electrical gremlin for 5 months, could not get it to start up. I stopped in here one day and talked to a Mr.Billie in there and Told him everything I had done and what was going on. The First thing he told me to try had actually fixed my car. Very knowledgeable man very smart and heavily appreciated. Definitely coming back. Thank you mr billie!!!

I was told I would need a very, very expensive repair on my car. Had Bill Smith's Auto take a look and was repaired with minimal cost to me. I have used them before and will never take my car anywhere else. They are a true auto repair shop that will take the time to address any needs your car may have.

My husband took our 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee to have a spark plug and ignition coil replaced. We both work night shift and was told that it would be ready same day which is great because we both needed to work the same night. The quote was given to us within an hour of dropping the car off. It was much pricier than other auto shops in the surrounding area, which at that point I just said to repair it because it was already at the shop and we needed the car back to go to work. He said he would call us when the car was ready. Mind you, we would need to make arrangements to pick our car up because my other car is also being repaired. He calls us at the end of the day saying that they close in 15 minutes and if we weren t there we could pick the car up the following day, I m justSpeculating, but I have a feeling my car my was done before the 15 minute mark of closing time. We ended up rushing to find a ride to the shop so we could get to work that night. Ended up paying over the phone and had them leave my car keys in the car because we could not safely get there in 15 minutes. This place was recommended to us and I am disappointed in the value, but most of all the consideration of their paying customers. It was just a frustrating and stressful start to my night getting ready for work.

My Tundra truck broke down on I64 and was towed to Bill Smith Auto on a weekend. Jeff and Doug quickly assessed the problem on Monday morning and repairs were done that day. They dispelled all my fears of being an "out of towner at an auto repair shop" by giving me great service in a very friendly manner with a reasonable price. Thanks guys! I recommend them to anyone.

I've been taking my vehicles to Bill Smith's for nearly thirty years and continue to value their technical competence and, especially, their integrity.Yesterday's visit was for a wheel alignment and a pre-trip check before my wife hits the road w/ a girlfriend. The alignment was excellent as the car steered beautifully going home.I plan on continuing to take my vehicles to Bill Smith's for as long as I have a vehicle.

Once again they team at BIll Smith's came through. 2003 Toyota Tacoma had no heat. They knew a part was bad but couldn't tell if they fixed it if another part was also bad. Instead of just doing it and charging me they called and communicated what the procedure would be. I agreed and they moved forward. Luckily for me it was just that one part we now have HEAT! Thanks again for getting that fixed and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

They worked with my schedule and were extremely quick. They are always super nice and helpful whenever I go. The waiting area is clean and they offer coffee and they have a tv. I have been going to them for 4 years now and have never been disappointed.

Honest, friendly, and fast. Take your car to Bill's and they will take care of you.Bill Smith is hands down the best mechanic around. My family has been taking their vehicles to this shop since we moved to the area in 2021 and we have never had anything but the absolute best service, surpassing that of the local KIA dealership by miles.Their team is always friendly, reliable, and efficient; they consistently go above and beyond, especially when the inevitable check engine light or scary sound of unknown origin pops up. They identify and notify you of issues before quickly resolving them and getting you back on the road as safely and as soon as possible.

Firstly, nothing I experienced here leads me to believe these guys don t provide great mechanic services. I got my vehicle s AC evaluated here. The appointment process was clear and efficient. Their evaluation was correct.I chose another shop to do the work because the technician didn t spend the time to explain why their diagnosis - a bad AC compressor - caused the wide variety of symptoms my AC was exhibiting. The technician told me everything was explained on the estimate. Aside from high head pressure and compressor not pumping there was no clarifying info.I went with a shop that spent about 5 minutes explaining why a bad AC compressor would lead to intermittent cooling and different temperature air coming out of different vents. This shop cost $300 less and offered the same warranty.I get the sense this shop wants to serve customers who just want their cars fixed. Nothing wrong with that. But after getting burned by a few mechanics, I want to know why, technically, I need to spend $1700 on my car.This could be a great shop for a busy professional or single parent who doesn t have the time or interest in having a better understanding of why the proposed solution will fix their mechanical issue. They just need it done.

Went for Car inspection. Car needed repairs, they were kind enough to bring me home while car was being worked on. Nicest young man brought me home. The owner of Bill Smiths Auto, Doug was kind enough to came back to get me when car was ready. They give AAA discount. Excellent service.

Great knowledgeable and friendly people. Love this place for all my car needs. I took it there to get an oil change and state inspection and they were done in 2 hours. I have priorities for life at my dealership but they take all day for simple things, so I take my cars to Bill Smith's for everything.

The Guys at BIll Smith Auto are the best.They value the safety of their customers and uphold a high standard of quality.They have taken great care of our family vehicle that has had a few issues that I wouldn t trust no other repair center to take care of. Excellent, dependable, trustworthy service!Automotive shops can be scary and feel like you are being taken for a ride even before you walk in the door, but not here! Friendly service, efficient and appreciate the explanation of the work before it s done. Serpentine belt was making noise, determined that belt and pulley had gone bad- glad to have gotten it in in time! Appreciate the work your team does to keep are cars running and safe out on the road.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was told I needed a whole new AC unit for my van. They said every component needed changing and that the drier had a pencil size hole in it. $1400 repair. I went without AC for the whole summer that year. The next summer I took it to a place called B&B radiator in hampton and the tech said I needed a half pound to a pound of Freon. I told him Bill Smiths-tech told me everything was bad and said there was a hold in the drier. He just laughed and said I needed about a pound of Freon. I took the chance he was right and he was. The AC worked like a champ and for less than $100.

I dropped my vehicle off by Bill s for its annual inspection. I live a little less than a mile from the shop; I always walk home as I like the exercise, but they are always kind to offer a ride. The service staff is courteous and professional. I was told that the service may take at least a couple of hours and it was just about exactly two hours when I got a call that it was finished. I have only been using Bill Smith s for a few years, but have never been dissatisfied.

I needed to get a waiver for my NC inspection since we are military and stationed in VA.They were able to give me what was needed so I can submit the form to get the waiver. They were super friendly and helpful. They even gave my toddler a candy bar which kept her happy while we waited.Another customer told me how great of a place this is and that she wouldn t trust to go anywhere else.I will for sure be using their services when needed in the future. I'm always leery about finding a new place for car maintenance as you never know who will take advantage of my limited knowledge.However, the work I have had done at the shop is quickly becoming a favorite place to go. Everyone has been very pleasant, honest and professional. They are straight forward about what needs to be done and they don't try to up sale items that aren't needed. I like the convenient location to my office and prices are reasonable.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Went for a Oil change and State Inspection, outstanding service. Bill's let me drop my car off and then pick a service time and everything was done in 30-45min. This was my first time coming to Bills Smith Auto and I can say it was a awesome experience .As soon as I entered the building I was greeted by a friendly smile and right then and there I knew everything was going to be alright. I have been dealing with Bill Smiths for decades. One of the last honest and capable auto shops left in the area. As a mechanic myself, I trust Bills to do the job right and for a fair price when I am not able to. Don't judge me for not doing it myself, lol. I'm a body mechanic but still capable of turning wrench. Bill's is my last hope before going to the "GULB" dealership.
