Having grown up with a mechanic father, I was helping him pull engines and transmissions from an early age, so I know automobiles a bit more than the average person.With that said, I was ecstatic to find Airport Exxon. This was the first place in this area that I have taken my cars to without having someone trying to rip me off.Pete is top notch, honest, and more than fair. He's one of "those" people that goes above and beyond what's required.

Pete is the BEST Auto Mechanic whom I ve ever met. He is very honest and has been very patient with me and all of my vehicle needs! Pete and his team of professionals are always ready to provide excellent service to all customers! I highly recommend him!!

I've gone here a few times because it's conveniently close to work and previously been fair price and decent work. My last experience was not great though:Dropped off car at 8:00am (right when they opened) for diagnosing a vapor leak. A few cars in the garage bays but no one else waiting around. I called at 10:00am to see what needed to be done, and was told I was next in line. At 3:00pm my car still had not even been looked at. The counter told me they were handling customers before me, but really hard to accept I was 'next in line' for 5 solid hours with zero progress and no phone call; Seems much more likely more of a matter of them taking walk-ins ahead of drop-offs and/or prioritizing easier jobs. I can understand busy, but none of that was communicated at drop off time or even in follow-up. The business needs to do a better job of managing customer expectations; If they had let me know up front they couldn't get to me or couldn't do the job, I could have planned differently. I lost a day and they lost a customer.

I came in for a state inspection on 3/21/24 and was failed due to needing new windshield wipers (which I had in my trunk) and other lights (licenses plate lights). After I declined the shop to install the lights is when I experienced terrible customer service. I went back on 3/25/24 after fixing the equipment that failed only for the manager to act as if he did not want to acknowledge me and tell me that my men are going on break and to come back in a hour. I stated that he gave me the shop s hours but failed to inform me that all staff goes on break at the same time. He then proceeded to argue with me and talk over me to the extent that I walked out and he was still going. I would like to note that I reminded him that the inspection was not a full inspection and that I was rejected and fixed what was told. He stated we still have to put your car on the lift to inspect it. I came back in a hour to be told to wait without a timeframe. I waited 15 minutes and the inspection took less than 5 minutes. I say all that to say that I had to put up a fight just to be heard and I would never go there again.

I have been taking my cars to Airport Exxon for all of my mechanical and inspection needs for years.. Pete always gives me an honest, professional evaluation and explains the pros and cons of my options. Plus he is fair and reasonable.

On the way to our college visit, my car broke down. I coasted into the Exxon station with a car that wouldn t accelerate. While I visited the CNU campus with my daughter, the Exxon service station diagnosed and fixed the problem with my car! Great service! Thanks so much for squeezing us into your busy schedule!

Great place and honest mechanics. Brought my car in due to an oil leakage, they located and fixed it quickly and found a bad control arm. Also, my car has been squeaking for a while when using AC, another shop told me is a bad compressor and asked me nearly four figures for it. But Pete told me it is just a worn belt and they fixed everything with a reasonable price!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Pete and his crew are amazing. I ve been a customer since 2019 and I trust all my vehicles with them. I absolutely appreciate the personal care and the consistent quality of service! I recently posted a review and they replied apologizing but then justified themselves. They said and we did not charge you for the full synthetic oil for the oil change I want to mention that I did not ask for full synthetic. I ve always got regular oil when I got oil changes in the past. My car leaks oil some, so now it s probably going to leak more. Something that should have been asked before doing it.UPDATE: I do not own a Mercedes. I have an older car with high mileage- therefore I did not need full synthetic in my car. It s all good though. Angels for stranded travelersMy child & I were traveling home from Richmond Airport, we were 45 miles from home when my battery light came on. As I attempted to safely get off the highway, my car lost all power. I managed to get my car into the parking space out front. The owner and another mechanic immediately approached my car to try to help. They tested my battery, checked my electrical system, and determined that my battery & alternator needed to be replaced. They immediately gave me an estimate to repair my vehicle, squeezed me in and had me and my daughter on our way in less than 2 hours. They were amazing. What could have been a nightmare, ended happily for me and my child. I can t thank them enough for the prompt , professional service that I received!Service: General repairs & maintenance

The E85 is always on point at this location! The secret is to give the attendant a tip so he can point you to the freshest e85 pump with a higher rating.

The pain and anguish the owner of this business caused me is beyond repair. It s been quite some time since the incident but I suffer everyday emotionally from the disturbing things he did to me. Beware of this person. He destroyed my car and my trust of men. He was EXTREMELY aggressive towards me and yelled at me. It has caused me to have anxiety and I haven t driven my car since he made it unfixable.

Get a second opinion from somewhere else if this shop tells you your car needs repairs. Took my car here for a state inspection and they failed my car because a wheel bearing was worn and said it will cost $700 to replace. They also told me a couple other things needed repairs and quoted an additional $1000 to fix those things. Fair enough if true, but I didn t believe them so I decided to get a second opinion. Took it to my usual shop and all they had to do was adjust the bearing for $90 and they passed me. Good to go. And everything else I was quoted by Exxon as needing repairs were also found to be false. Get a second opinion.

I trust this place with my vehicles, their the best!!! The owner is very reasonable, kind and is always willing to help other's out. Then the guy's in the shop are very trusting, always kind and thoughtful. I'll definitely keep taking my vehicles to this place. Keep up the great work guy's.

Most recent visit was a. Very involved multi system diagnostic and repair. The shop carefully evaluated the problems, showed me at my request what and where they were and completed the repairs. Covid19 shipping delays caused it to take a bit longer than i like but in the end the vehicle is running great and i have confidence in my loved ones safety driving. Always forth coming and polite. The manager/owner was even kind enough to stay a little late so we could pick up the car.Services: Electrical repair, Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

The favorite service for all drivers in my family. Owner, Pete gives great service advice. I don't think my daughter would ever go anywhere else with her car troubles. Her very first thought when anything is wrong with her car is call, tow, or go to Airport Exxon for best experiences..

Great customer service by James... Had a flat tire I needed repaired that they handled within a few hours (other customers ahead of me). They take care of you fast and friendly, and actually call you back promptly instead of your having to chase someone down to check status of your vehicle. Nice little spot, and convenient location just across from the mall.

I was very impressed by Airport ExxonMobil. Today was my first visit and every one was really nice. My appointment was at 10 for an alignment and they got me in a few minutes after . While the technician was doing my car he noticed I needed an inspection this month so he went ahead and looked over my car and I didn't need to reschedule for it. I recommended them to my family and friends and I will be going back.

Got me in same day and took great care of my car. Had a hard time finding anyone who could fit me in the day and they were able to take me quickly. They did a great job and I was able to keep all my family plans for the day.

Great staff that is helpful and honest. They always call me before doing any work that will cost more and they also do a great job explaining the situation. They saved my daughter's car for a few more years at a very reasonable price.

Our minivan broke down on the way home from vacation on a Sunday and had to be towed to a mechanic. We had a hard time finding any garages that were even open, but this one was, and I am so glad because their service was stellar! We had our two young children with us, and it was almost 100 degrees outside, so Pete let them sit in the air conditioned lobby (which he had just sanitized due to COVID), and he even turned on PBS so they could watch some cartoons. We arrived with only about an hour and a half left before closing, and they were able to get us in and diagnose the problem right away. Because they are a NAPA affiliated garage, they were able to order the needed part and have it delivered right away. They stayed a little bit late to complete the installation and had us rolling on our way. We made it the rest of the way home with no trouble, and our van has been running fine ever since. About a week later, I went to request a warranty reimbursement from the dealership where we purchased the van and realized I had misplaced the receipt. I called the garage, and Pete emailed a copy of the receipt in minutes. If you're looking for service that goes above and beyond, this is the place! Knowledgable, honest, and polite--everything you'd ever want in a mechanic!

Awesome customer service.... great work, great environment and great attitude...pricing is reasonable as well... 2003 Hyundai Santa fe with 170,000 miles. Pete and his crew fixed my baby like new....no more putting around like a turtle.. I got on the interstate doing 70+...no hesitation..acceleration on point.. at one point u could hear my truck coming before I arrived...they put n a reservoir and now its quiet....Thank You Guys...

Pete from Airport Exxon towed my broken down 10ft U-Haul truck from Newport News to Arlington AND helped me unload the truck at my destination. He got me out of a bad situation, and I am very thankful for his kindness. He certainly went out of his way to help me out, and everything went as smoothly as I could have hoped. Pete is also a very smart, experienced, and trustworthy mechanic. Thanks a bunch Pete, you rock!
