***ATTENTION for everyone needing their Hyundai Serviced at a Hyundai Dealership in the Richmond Area!!!**I had my vehicle towed here after having CMA Colonial Hyundai keep my vehicle for 8 MONTHS!!! multiple misdiagnosis and some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am not exaggerating...Service Team at Pearson was AMAZING!!!! Service Director Melisa made sure that she got on the phone with me with her top tech so they could get a full understanding of what had happened thus far and to provide feedback from what the previous dealership stated. Within 4 hours not only did they PROPERLY diagnose the issue...they were able to fix my car and let me know that everything that the previous dealership tried to say was the likely cause (Interior fuse Box, then ECU, then Shift assembly) was not the problem at ALL!!! They then let me know that a critter had gotten into the engine bay and chewed the wire of one the main harnesses that caused all of the issues. That phone call I mentioned previoualy happened around 9am....my car was ready for pick up by 3pm. I didn't even need a loaner and turns out this is a comprehensive claim under my auto policy as well. If service on my car requires the dealership, PEARSON IS THE ONLY DEALERSHIP I will take my vehicle to. 8 months of extreme frustration with Hyundai consumer affairs getting involved was resolved at Pearson in one day! Shout out to Jason, Crystal, Melissa and the best Hyundai tech (Dont know his name but he figured out my issue) in the region!!They may have a wait time to get to your vehicle and it is for good reason. Take your Hyundai to the right dealership the FIRST time and safe yourself time, energy and hassle knowing it will be fixed RIGHT the first time!Services: Electrical repair, Vehicle Inspection

I have not been impressed with the service department. You have to be on top of these folks to make sure all the work you want done is done for their communication skills have been less than professional during my processing of my claim.

I would recommend avoiding Hyundai s due to paint issues and service centers not wanting to repair known defects. I bought a Hyundai from here 2 years ago, and the paint is peeling on the front hood. Apparently they cover some models from 2016-2017 but my 2020 isn t covered anymore. I am now stuck with a 1,000 dollar bill to fix it.

Changing my review as we ve seen them a few times since and they have been generally unhelpful and tried telling us we'd have to pay for services explicitly covered by our warranty.I went in needing to replace a fuse. My wife was going on a trip the next day. I told the service manager the situation and that all I needed was a fuse. He told me they were too busy to give me a fuse and I could bring it back in four days and they would charge me $180 to do a diagnostic check. I went to an auto part store and got a fuse.The big issue was the third time we took our car in for hybrid battery issues they told us we would have to pay to replace it.It was covered under the warranty as it was under the mileage that it was covered for.I gave them pushback and they changed their story that some parts of the service would not be covered. Eventually the story changed again and everything was covered but I didn t find this out until I went to pick up the car after the service had been complete.Got an oil change and diagnostic check.

Customer Service was not great and the pricing was even worse. I have been to several car repair shops over the years and have never had one say that to diagnose the problem it would be $150 per light, meaning if I have 3 lights on my dash I would be charges $450 to diagnose what those problems were. I purchased the vehicle from them in 2017 and received the 10 year 100000 mile warranty but of course that did not cover any of the items that needed to be addressed. Very disappointed and will definitely be shopping elsewhere to trade-in or purchase another vehicle.

I had my car towed there after an emergency check engine light while on a road trip and they were able to help me out and were very honest and professional! If my car breaks down out of state again I hope it's near this service center.

Horrible and frustrating experience. Took my car for a check engine light being on. We decided not to fix the issue and to sell the car instead. When we went to pick it up the car wouldn t start (we drove it there fine) and was told they took apart the engine to diagnose and never put it together. Had to wait an hour to fix. It then still wouldn t start and they blamed the battery (again, it was working fine when we brought it), however couldn t jump it properly. We asked if they wanted to buy it and told the appraisal specialist what we had been quoted and he literally laughed at us. It was very insulting. Fought with them to pay for the towing next door to another dealership who actually paid us more than that price for it. What should have been a 30 minute trip turned into 5 hours of rude people who didn t seem to know how to do their jobs. Oh, not to mention we saw their staff smoking out back by the oil drums. Seemed pretty dangerous.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

The team in the service department were excellent. When I dropped the car off @ 8 am I was told my car may not be serviced until later in the day or possibly not that day as I didn't have an appointment. Well within an hour Crystal ( service tech) called and said they were working on my car and I was astonished. She also made me aware my filter needed to be replaced to which I approved that he done. The servicecustomer was great and I got the call a couple hours later from Melissa that my car was done and ready for pick- up and the price was what I was quoted! I was very satisfied and delighted with the entire experience! In this pandemic eta people are not as friendly or concerned but these ladies were spot on! Service is efficient and effective. The staff is friendly and helpful. During the pandemic, there is a barrier at the desk to protect both workers and customers. I had a 10am appointment and was in no rush to have the vehicle back- I was dropping off for oil & filter change, state inspection, and 15,000 mile recommended maintenance. When I went inside fully masked up, there was only myself and the intake person so they must space appointments well to avoid cross over volume. I was also pleasantly surprised that the vehicle was ready slightly after 1pm, also an indication that the appointment scheduling is done really well. I appreciate this whole crew, from their customer service to their expertise and time management. Thank you!

The service I received was beyond wonderful. Krystal discovered an issue with my brakes that was actually covered by warranty. She immediately set out to ensure I had a rental car, drove me there and waited until they were sure I had a vehicle. Although they had to order a part, Krystal kept me well.informed on the timeline and was so customer service driven. She made me feel valued as a customer and wanted to ensure I was taken care of from a service perspective. I have been buying/leasing from Pearson Hyundai for 12 years and have had very good service, but Krystal took it to the next level. Superior!!!! Thank you to Krystal and Pearson for keeping this customer happy and very satisfied. This is my dealership and they keep me coming back. -Margaret Gehler

I came in for a recall on my Hyundai. Very happy to get a friendly call the day before reminding me of the appointment. Setting the appt online was very easy. Once I arrived, I was promptly greeted and shown to the waiting room. They had a full wall of jobs and still got my work completed in under an hour. I had an extremely long wait for my car -,eventually found out that there was a mix up in explanation of why my car was taking so long- I left the car at dealership at noon, my appointment was for 2:40 and I finally got my car at 5:00 pm.Melissa, The service department manager was extremely helpful and apologetic for the mix up and in fact offered a free car to Ah and vacuuming on my next visit. Part of the problem is as it is everywhere- no enough employees to get the work done efficiently. This is the first car I have owned that is not a Lexus and I must say that I love the car but the service cannot compare to the service at Lexus!Services: Tires, Oil change

I have purchased roughly 4 vehicles at this specific location as well as my two sons have also. I go to this location specifically for the service department s quality of work and friendliness and I love Angela the finance manager.I have always had a great experience in service. They work me in when I do not have an appointment. They do not sell me items I do not need. They discuss what s in the best interest of my vehicle(s), they have great pricing and I love the technicians and staff in service.Service: Oil change

My tire was supposed to be mounted and balanced prior to me being there. My vehicle was not driveable and I was taking the tire to where my vehicle was located for my husband to put it on. The person who placed my order did not tell the service department I needed it mounted and balanced. I had to talk to the service people myself to ask if they could do this for me. The parts department took no responsibility for it because the guy who placed my order was not there. I had to wait for an hour and half for this to be done. The service people were great. But situations like this is why I do not deal with dealerships unless I have to.

This was my first time visiting this dealership for any sort of maintenance or repairs. I needed my hatch release replaced and scheduled an appointment to have them look at my vehicle (I had to wait a few weeks). They were able to replace the broken part the same day but it took about 3 hours and I didn t realize it would take that long. My car s extended warranty covered most of the cost and the awesome service technician Krystal was able to have me only pay the overage instead of paying in full and receiving a reimbursement via check. I really appreciate Krystal s professionalism and quality customer service and will definitely come here again if I need my car looked at!Services: Electrical repair, Electrical

I took my car in for service in the month of November 2020. There was an extremely long hold up on the service of my vehicle due to a delay in the delivery of parts needed. I was called in for service twice and had to return home with no repairs. In March of 2021, they were finally able to complete the task, but yet again, did not have all parts needed. I was comped a full coverage rental car for the remainder of the wait for the parts and service. I was very well pleased with the service departments customer service rep that assisted me (Krystal). She handled my issue with care, concern, and a sense of urgency.Service: Oil change

the service was great, though when i called to pick up my car they forwarded me to three different people and then the last person i was sent to didn t even answer the phone. i tried calling again and the same thing happened. they closed and i was unable to get my car when i had anticipated. good service though a little pricey from what i normally would expect.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I was very annoyed with them because I made a appointment a week prior to arriving for a recall on my car that caused me to fail my inspection. I ended up with 2 recalls one was an update and one was a head light lamp or something. The lady at the desk said it would take 2 hrs for the 2 recalls to be fixed. I waited 2.5 hours at the dealership and took off work to be there just for them to tell me they don t have the parts. When I set up the appointment they knew the year make and model of the car and what I was coming in for.... super unprofessional that they weren t prepared. Now I have to take off another day when the part comes in.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I brought my genesis G 70 in for it s annual inspection. I really enjoy Pearson. I purchased the car from Genesis of Richmond but was not satisfied with the service. Pearson does a much better job. My only recommendation would be to list what the customer is asking to have done and when the car is returned, note that that has been done. My example would be, in addition to my annual inspection, I asked that my lane departure warning be checked because I no longer could feel the vibration in my steering wheel and I also asked them to let me know if the windshield wipers , after three years needed to be replaced. When my car was returned, I have no idea if these additional issues were addressed and rectified. Other than that, the car is always returned washed and cleaned and on time. I m glad I changed to Pearson.Service: Auto interior vacuuming

I didn't get my car until 40 hrs later after I dropped it off for an oil change. The customer service is non-existent there. My service provider Crystal never called me to update me on my service. When my car was ready for me to pick up they sent me an email that I saw an hour later. I never received a call that it was ready.Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

Crystal on the service side of the dealership was wonderful and very helpful got my drop off car in and done as quickly as she could as it was a busy week! The woman who worked at the front desk on the dealership side was rude and dismissive to my husband and I and obviously didn t want to help and basically lied when I came to pick up my car keys. She told me numerous times she didn t have them, but when questioned multiple times she reluctantly pulled them out of the drawer at her desk. The most unprofessional company I ve ever worked with. I drop my car off on Monday did not receive it back until Thursday, they explain the reason when I called them and then left the part in my car that stay in my car along with the screws. I ve called several times, leave a chat message several days now to determine why the part remain in my car and I still have not received a call back.Service: Engine repair

I had my inspection done. I checked in, sat in the waiting room until my car was ready. I was offered water while waiting since they no longer had it readily available due to COVID. I had an afternoon appointment but I feel like it was a relatively quick appointment. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that because I purchased my car from them the inspection was free.

I had a 7:20 appointment for an oil change. It took almost 4 hours to get it completed. I tried to stay calm but ended up asking for the service manager after 3. He acted as if my concern about the long wait was my fault because they did not have the correct filter and had 2 deliveries of the wrong filter. Not even an apology about the unacceptable wait time. I made an appointment because I needed to wait on vehicle. The waiting room was packed so I started to walk outside and the service guy told me there were more seats in the showroom. I made sure he had my cell number and took my magazine and went there and waited. After 2 hours I checked back and at first the clerk acted like they had no record. I told them about the appointment and he found my keys. I asked how long it had been done and why I wasn t called and he just said he didn t know and turned away to his business. No apology or show of concern at all.Service: Oil change

Purchased my Hyundai a year ago from Pearson Hyundai. The sales team was exceptional and we have referred several of our friends to them. I love my vehicle and have also recommended it to friends. When it comes to their service team, that is a different story. I called and asked to talk to a service advisor or manager to get advice. I explained it had been a year since I had any scheduled maintenance due to limited driving due to the pandemic. It was recommended that I come in and get an oil change. I arrived for my service and waited at least 5 minutes before I was greeted even though there was one customer and 5 reps at the service desk (with them all just periodically looking at me like they didn t know what to do). Then even though I explained that I had a maintenance package with the dealer and told them my mileage, I was not told would be charged for the oil change - I only found that out AFTER they had done the oil change that I would have to pay because it was not being done at 7500 miles. It would have been much better customer service to understand all charges up front. (Now mind you, while I was waiting for the oil change, a sales person checked on me to see if I needed anything and even brought me a free bottle of water!)I also had to schedule another appointment for my 3rd row seat to be repaired - a warranty repair that I was told would take at least a half day. When I originally purchased the vehicle I was told by the sales team they they provide loaner vehicles for major repairs - something also still advertised on their website. When I scheduled the second appointment for the seat repair, I inquired about the loaner vehicle because I m a working mom and can t be without a car. But I was told they don t have loaners. I pointed out that this was advertised on their website and asked why I couldn t get a loaner. The scheduler told me she didn t know and I d have to get rental vehicle at my own expense. I asked to speak to her manager about this and was put through to voicemail. It s been a week and I still haven t received a call back about the loaner situation. The drastic difference in customer service between their sales team and service team is thoroughly disappointing. I hope someone in management reads and takes this review seriously to employ some training to the service staff.Service: Oil change

All four tires had been set at 51 lbs pressure! I noticed the problem after I noticed it was riding differently and when I checked the display. When I took it back they reset all 4 tires to 33 or so lbs.

Upon arrival I was informed that Hyundai systems were down. I arrived 25 minutes early for my appointment and was concerned why no one bothered to contact me ahead of time. I spoke with the Service Manager Melissa Best and she indicated that she would arrange for my car to be picked up and a loaner dropped off at my convenience to perform the Hyundai maintenance recall. I have feverishly made multiple weekly calls to reach Ms. Best and schedule this service however she has yet to return my calls. It has been over a month. In addition, I have left messages for the General Manager and to no avail I have nit received a return call.This dealership DEFINITELY DOES NOT VALUE ITS CUSTOMERS!
